1. Working a (unexpected) 16 hour shift is tiresome, time for some shleep and posting when I arise....whenever that happens.

2. The main issue both Dassem and I are having with your character profile Inu is that it's not an original character. From the very name, we both know that's already a character used in Firefly. We've all used original characters either by creative thought or assistance with book texts or other means, you're pretty much taking a character from a series and adding it to the new story. I will admit the mental technicalities are interesting, but the excess powers have got to go. Also, change up the name and give a bio and what not. Be similar to River Tam, but start small then grow big. Other than that, if we can see that in your sign up (the changes and what not) to your character, we wouldn't mind. But if not, sorry, but we've started this from the beginning and keep going strong, a character like you're has no room.
3. I think everyone posted at least once so far, whoop. If not, ney of the whoop.
4. OOC: To be honest, I'll do a small snippet due to the fact I'd like to see if our other posters will be using another language or not, just to be on the safe side. James sat in his chair angry at the comment made by Mr. Percy Weasley, the forbidden use of the Unspeakable Curses would set James back in combat in the event that he or his team mates were to be attacked by Death Eaters. This would be a huge blow to his tactical assaults as well to surprise his enemies and use the curses to retrieve vital information. The cold room chilled the American to his bones, but due to his own fault of coming to the meeting barefoot and in light clothing, his jean shorts and light black hoodie was something he regretted now that the circumstances. Still, receiving the urgent message from the American Magical Government on such short notice left the man with no option but to travel immediately. But the news that Longbottom could possibly be alive was somewhat uplifting, but the concerns that it could be another trap set up by the Death Eaters made their curse use restriction even more dangerous if they were to fall into their ploy. James looked around at the rest of his supposed team, a roulette cast of members from all over the world, the dossiers in front of the man described their skills and history with magic use, but with Weasley's short description of their abilities was enough. James stood up from his chair, the wooden legs scratching against the floor loud enough to get the other members attention towards him, the man grunted in rage as he grabbed hold of the back of the chair and flung it to the ground in a visible show of rage. Dust scattered and lingered in the air as James walked towards the nearest window, placing his hand on the ledge as he tried his best to calm himself. The Asian woman Mai gasped slightly as the cat nuzzling her ankle flinched for a moment, the french man name Alexis raised an eyebrow, taking his eyes away from his own reading as he spoke. "Monsieur?" He spoke lightly, James immediately flicked his wrist, his wand released itself from his sleeve pocket and into his right hand as it gripped the handle tightly. The other members too caution as they stood from their respective chairs; Ewan, Akil and Anselmo drew their wands, but they did not lift it in the air. They felt worried, but if James was suppose to be their Combat Specialist then they had hoped he would calm himself from doing something reckless, especially with 5 other Aurors in the room. "What troubles you Monsieur...eh, Heartwell?" James finally looked back towards the table, seeing what his rage has caused the others to do. "This is maddening, I use Unspeakable Curses to defend my life and others who are in need of help. We have muggle born magic users being hunted daily by these monsters of the night, and now they're reach has gone so far that they've begun hunting during the day to get to these families and children. Now we have someone calling us together to go on a dangerous assignment, yet we're not allowed to defend ourselves from people trying to kill us. It's maddening" James gritted his teeth as he gripped onto his wand handle harder. "You must understand the reason why, using curses makes us no different from the Death Eaters. We must be like the Ministry of Magic before us, disciplined and merciful, yet strong and a force not to be reckoned with" Mai stated, she felt confident enough to sit back down in her chair as the cat laid in between the heels of her feet, the others began to relax a little, but still remain alert and ready. "My lady, we're at a time of war, I doubt the pleasantries of wizardly respect. We are but a few surviving organizations, ever since the MOM was taken over, we've been scattered and surviving however we can. All I'm saying is that when need be, they're not so Unforgivable" James smirked, showing a slight smile to the group. "Por ahora, tenemos una única misión de hacer. Esto es para asegurarse de que Longbottom está vivo y bien que nos diga las cuentas que se produjo años atrás, y la forma en que ha vivido tanto tiempo sin ser capturado ... Si esto no es una trampa que es." Cid spoke, but Jame's knowledge of other languages was unknown, not something he was accustomed to in the states. Lifting his want to his temple lobe, he spoke a spell. "lingua res" A sudden pulse slapped against James skull, the mans vision blurred for a moment, but the spoken words mentioned before became clear to him now as he remembered what Cid had said. "I understand, but still...it leaves us a bit handicapped" "Au contraire" LeCross spoke then. "There are other ways to deal with our enemies, and make sure they do not return". Akil nodded as he holstered his wand. "Agreed, you've probably been to active on your own before coming here, I can understand the need to defeat your enemy. But, we're doing this by the books, again. As acting team leader, I value your skills and expertise in combat tactics and maneuvers, but I will not accept deaths by Curses, I hope you can understand my terms, because I do not repeat myself" Akil took his seat as well, James grunted through his teeth, but he knew he was defeated for now. The lack of sleep was getting to him, and he feared he caused a horrible first impression to the rest of his team mates, the man felt weary. "If ya'll will excuse me, I'm mighty tired. Excuse my outburst, it was unprofessional and inexcusable, excuse me" Turning his heels, James heavily stepped to the door as he left. "But, I will speak to the Weasley about his rule and hope he can see my point of view. if not, I will abide by his terms, and yours as well...ummm..." "It's Akil Mohamed Bakr, I look forward to working with you Mr. Heartwell when you are well rested" He smiled slightly. James gave a nod in return. "James, likewise. Excuse me" James opened the door and left the room to find Percy, placing his free hand on his forehead as he searched the corridors. A simple talk and then find his quarters for some well needed rest. The others returned to sit in their chairs as they continued to discuss the matters at hand, the Longbottom mission and returning to the runes of Hogwarts, a delicate matter for much needed planning was needed. "At least for now, we shall make this a simple reconnaissance operation around the grounds of Hogwarts. When we are are well rested, we should be one-hundred percent ready to face any challenges that may come at us" Bakr stated as he closed his dossier packet. "But if we eventually do find Longbottom, what will happen then?" Anselmo spoke then, everyone had a general idea of what might happen, but their main goal for so many unanswered question might be finally answered. "We'll finally find out what happened that caused the fall of Hogwarts, the complete fall. Also....what happened to Harry Potter" Ewan licked his lips when he finished, giving everyone a small moral boost by simply saying his name.

The Throwaways

With their target neutralize and the rest of the hostages freed, Flare and Vegas searched the perimeter for more Blanks, but so far in their search, nothing came up. Still, they had to be on their toes for anything that could happen out of nowhere. Flare and Vegas returned to the room where they had encountered the armed Blank, his body on the floor lifeless and turning pale now, the lights continued to flicker on and on like a strobe light would in a night club, but the matter of the fact is that their assignment was complete for now, but there still was a pressing issue to be addressed. "We have them safe, but how do we get them out of the building now?" Flare questioned, looking over at the innocent bystanders who cowered together in the far corner, talking amongst themselves, scared and worried for their lives. Vegas scratched the back of his head for a moment thinking, still a little surprised by his lucky shot, but every has their luck once in a while. For Vegas, it was all the time. "I dunno, I'm still thinking about that shot I made' He half joked, half serious as his tone remained monotone while he spoke. He was shaken up at the fact he took another persons life, but the idea of saving those who could have been harmed by this same Blank reassured the kid that their mission was for a righteous one, and the outcome couldn't have spoiled their well earned favor of no casualties. Vegas turned towards the window, finally moving from his spot to peer outside, there were cop and SWAT vehicles outside standing by and forming a plan of their own to rescue the hostages inside, all of them clueless that their planning had already been taken up by Geist and his new super powered squad of teenagers. Vegas could feel anothe close next to him, turning to look at the corner of his eye, he could see Flare looking down the window as well. "Hey, here's a funny question...if these guys were to take what money they stole, how do you think they would get out of here with the building blocked off?" Flare wondered the same thing, it seemed pointless to go through the front, he remembered listening to old movies about bank robbers tunneling their way to safety, but that seemed so classic to do nowadays. Finally, the thought hit both of them as they both spoke. "The Roof!" Flare looked back at the civilians. "You guys stay here and keep quiet, help will be on the way later" Flare spoke, the woman who was beaten earlier spoke up for the group. "We will, and thank you so much" She almost cried, but the two had no time to waste. Both boys tuned and sprinted towards the hallway, making a couple sharp turns before finding the stairwell at the far end of the hallway. There was enough light in the facility now for Flare to use to his advantage in case another attack was needed to help them out. Both stopped in front of the door, Vegas slowly wiggled the handle and popped their entrance open, looking around to find no one in sight. they were high up in the building, they had suspected the Blanks hadn't come so far up since they had guards already posted so close to the roof. "Ok, looks clear. Only one flight to get to the rooftop door, let's make this quick" Vegas whispered, opening the door fully now as he stepped out and began to accend the staircase, Flare close behind him. Once they got to the door, Flare placed his hand on Vegas' shoulder, halting him from continuing. "Wait a minute, we came from the roof in stealth mode. I didn't see any plane around" "I'm surprised that thing lets you see anyways" Vegas smirked, but Flare was right. "Let's scan the area, they might have something else in mind for an emergency escape, you never know" With that, both boys walked out onto the rooftop, but like before, it was vacant. Flare's visor scanned the area, using scope to see in the distance and zoom back into its original viewing spot. "It's not picking up anything heavy, so guess we can safely say they have no means of hiding their..." The boy was cut off as the back of a rifle butt hit the side of his head, throwing the boy onto the ground as his visor popped off and landed several feet away. Vegas turned and saw his team mate down, but his instincs told him to barrel roll towards the opposite way. He did so, just in time as another Blank came from behind and tried to tackle the boy, only to land on his face next to his partner. The two Blanks came from another rooftop entrance and saw the two boys from the other side, sneaking around in the shadows until they came close enough to strike. Flare felt the side of his head for a moment, warm liquid surrounded his wound, and the smell of heavy iron comfirmed he was bleeding. Vegas drew his gun and pointed at the two Blanks, but they didn't seem threatened. "Now whats a kid in a ridiculous outfit going to do with that thing?" The both laughed, Flare kept still, hearing the echo of their voices in the air as he slowly turned his body towards their direction. Vegas noticed the small movements and stood his ground. "Not that its going to matter to you two, but the Dynamic Duo always has a plan for such an occasion" He smiled, one of the Blanks cocked their gun and pointed at Vegas, but the sound was enough for Flare to pinpoint their location. Extending his right arm mid air, the boy shot a powerful blast of white energy towards their targets, hitting one of them square in the chest as he flew towards teh heating vent and collided with the steel casing. "No way, their Supers!!" The Blank left standing drew a knife from his side and charged for Flare, but Vegas stopped his assault and fired two rounds into the mans leg. The Blank yelled in pain as he toppled forward, about to land of Flare, the boy extended both hands this time and shot again, this time with more power. The energy blast collided with the Blank's chest, but the sheer force sent the man hurling into the air, away from the building as he finally dropped from view. The echo of his screams stopped when a large crash could be heard from the bottom of the building, sirens flared in the air as his limbs handled from the roof of a cop car, the police were baffled by the sudden intrusion, and worried now as they armed themselves. Vegas quickly grabbed Flare's visor and placed it on the boy. "Thanks man, but where did the other one go to?" Flare questioned as he made it to his feet, finally opening his eyes inside the visor to only see one still unconscious. "Ummm.....we'll talk about that later, come on, let's get back inside" Vegas made his way towards their previous entrance, Flare nodded and began to follow. The boy placed his finger tips on his right ear socket of his visor and began to speak. "Hey Magnus, we've cleared the top floors, three Blanks down for the count on the top floors" Flare stopped in his tracks when he saw almost a dozen duffel bags next to the doorway that lead to the staircase, seeing rope and other equipment that looked like mountain climbing gear all bunched together. "It looks like they were planning on using ropes to propel themselves down the side of the building once their job was done. We're headed back inside, over" Flare released the button on his earpiece and made his way downstairs to join Vegas.

7. You killed Church you team killing **** tard!!

8. Demitri groaned a bit as he finally mnaged to open his eyes to the sunlight, his vision blurred somewhat as each second passed, but his view finally cleared after a quick flutter. Taking deep breaths, the man could hear some yelling not too far from him, from a familiar voice at that, but the thought was impossible until it finally rang in his head, he was here. Turning to his side and resting on his knees, Demitri finally planted a foot forward and stood up tall, sore, but still managed to keep his grounding from the head rush of blood passing through his body quickly. The muscular soldier looked around the brick alley quarter they were in, but how he got here and why he was feelling so battered threw the man for a loop, until he saw the mystic member of their team shouting for Ali's name, a sense of alarm pulsated in the mans chest now. "Marcus...what in the world happened? Why are you not at the base looking for Tank??" Demitri made his way over to Marucs, looking down at the man worried. "Commandant, do you not remember what happened a couple of moments ago? Or withing the past hour?" Marcus cocked an eyebrow, his eyes still shifting and scanning the scenery for traces of Ali, the small pool of blood didn't help his current thinking process, knowing she was probably caught in the crossfire of both his and Demitri's attack on one another during their fight. "What are you talking about? I was with Ali and Luwein last waiting for the rest of the team to come back and report in....then...then..." Demitri thought long and hard about his next words, he honestly felt embarrassed that he couldn't remember anything that had happened before waking up. "That's odd, nothing is coming to mind" "Demitri, your mind was taken over, probably without you even realizing it. The work of Anommander no doubt. I went searching for Tank all throughout the base, but when I found him, he expressed his apologies for not being around when needed. But when we questioned him on where he was and the situation with Neos in his own room, the boy couldn't remember a thing. That's when he left to join your team out here. I couldn't detect anything in the shadow realm of his presence, so I made a gamble to come out here and make sure you all were alright, looks like I came in time to stop something horrible from happening". Marcus turned from the commandant and began to run towards another passage that lead out from the center of the alley they were in, more fighting could be heard in the distance, Demitri didn't miss a beat as he followed suit. Still bothered by the fact he was taken over again, but this time it seemed so easy for their enemy to do it this time. "How was he able to take over my mind without me knowing?" Demitri panted as the two grew closer to the commotion. "You've been controlled once before, by Sybille. I doubt your own personal barriers are back to their original state, even after so many years. I'm sorry to say Demitri, but you were an easy target." The giant grunted at the comment as they turned another corner, seeing Tank and Sasa take down a couple of full grown lions and smaller felines. Sasa whipped her Machete towards the ground, hearing the sound of the fresh blood leave her blade before taking a hard look at it, the blood was black and almost had a violet sheen to it as well. Tank transformed back to his human flesh form, searching around the battle ground to make sure they were safe, he finally caught a glimps of his father and uncle making their way towards the two. "Dad! Uncle Marcus! Are you two ok?" Tank asked as the two men approached them, Sasa was a bit cautious when Demitri got close to her, the giant raised an eyebrow at the evil glare she was giving to him. "Something wrong?" Demitri panted. "You ok?" She raised an eyebrow, placing her hands on her hips with an annoyed attitude to match. "Take it easy, he was taken over by Annomander, and I suspect Tank was as well when we couldn't find him before you all left for the mission. What's bothering me was how he was able to travel here from the base so quickly, and jump from one host to the next" Marcus crossed his arms to think, he knew what the man sought after for, and the lives he took just to obtain the throne of Shadows was already past his acceptance level. But they were all targets of the mad man. Tank felt a little uneasy at the thought of being controlled, and Demitri was all but furious. "Listen, Ali is missing, have you two seen her around?" Demitri broke the silence. "No, we were a little busy on our own, we all got separated to make sure Baast and her minions didn't get to the innocent civilians, but we couldn't hold them for long. Cloak took a couple of us with him to protect and make a strong fighting stance against her cat friends." Sasa replied, she blinked a couple of times before the three heard an ear piercing scream echoing through the ally. the ground violently shook as all four members stood back to back in a square formation, holding onto one another to stay standing as the scream echoed more. Tank looked up into the sky to see a red flare of light coming from the rooftop, Marcus and Demitri knew who it was coming from. "ALI" They both shouted in unison, they took haste towards the building she was on top of. Marcus was the first to approach, extending his hands to the ground as the group reformed together, within seconds, the ground levitated where they were standing, sending the 4 members towards the top of the building. Once they arrived, they could see Gene and Pocket on the ground unconscious, Jason on his side breathing heavily as he reached for the young girl. Ali stayed in the center, holding onto Baast's hands as the two struggled to over power one another by sheer grip, but Ali's eyes glowed a shade of blood red, having a evil and gut twisting smile as the goddess Baast struggled and roared at the top of her lungs. Marcus and the others jumped from their ride and landed on the rooftop, just as they did, Demitri and Tank were tackled by the goddess' panther. Sasa went to check on Gene while Marcus looked over at the scene of Ali and Baast, marveled by Ali's power to stand up to a goddess, but his train of through was distracted when the panthers tail latched onto his ankle and pulled hard, sending the mystic to the ground. "Yeah, welcome back to earth, now how about a hand" Demitri shouted, nearly dodging a snap from the beats sharp fangs, Tank managed to transform his arm into steel and drew it back, launching it forward to make a direct hit to the creatures face as it released the three and coward back to the edge of the building. Demitri looked towards Ali and Baast, extended his hand in the air and launched a powerful wind blast, hitting Baast in the shoulder hard, sending the woman flipping in the air, but she landed on her feet and hands like her feline minions. "You will not overpower a god mortals, not even with the assistance from another!" She roared, hissing as she stood tall once again. "Another? What does that mean?" Tank questioned, but then it hit him. But just as he came to the conclusion, Ali gripped the side of her head with both hands and screamed once again, her own power fighting whatever was inside of her until a large shock wave erupted from her form, knocking everyone back who stood. Her hair finally stood still as the commander fell to her knees and panted hard, Demitri got to his feet and mad his way to Ali's side and held her close. "Are you alright love?" He asked. "Fine....it was so much...so much darkness everywhere Demitri..." She was at a loss for words like Demitri has been before coming conscious again. The giant was just glad to have her safe, besides her head wound, but he wondered where Anommander could have gone to now, it would be foolish to think he could control a goddess, the thought was impossible. Marcus finally made it to his feet with his head hung, a large smile danced across his face as his eyes snapped open wide with life, soul less life. "I finally have you mystic..." A dark voice mixed with his almost in a whisper.

11. Count me in for this one, sounds like an interesting Au game! Name: James Anthony Heartwell Age: 31 Years of Age Nationality: Southern Texan, United States Physical Description: James Standing at a solid 5 foot 9 at 230 pounds of solid muscle, the man is very active in his survival and magical training. Brown hair to compliment his grey eye sheen, his bulky physique is matched only by his sharp mental thinking. With Irish blood mixed with his Southern upbringing, its no wonder his physical appearance is bulky and hairy, just like his father and his father's father before him. When out in the muggel world, he usually wears a black fleece hoodie with his gym shorts, his hood draping over his head to add to the shadow over his facial features. There will be days the man wears a pair of dark blue denim jeans when going out, always having his wallet and mobile on his persons as well. But, he always keeps his wand tucked away in his right sleeve in case of immediate action against a random death eater that might be in the area. Personality: Hard and to the point. It's the best way to describe James in a phrase, for his years of experience and former teaching technique in countering the Dark Arts, James has seen his fair share of curse usage with enemies and friends alike. A team player with others, but usually likes to work on his own to figure out his own problems. But, a helping hand here and there troubles the man not. Many believe James is mean natured at heart, but with his years of fighting Death eaters and keeping dark forces at bay with his friends and colleagues, its not much of a surprise he would show his cold shoulder to everyone who hasn't experienced the battles he has. Wand Description: James' Wand Wood: Chattered Blackwood Core: Unicorn Tail Hair Length: 10 inch. Handle: Spiral Carved Blackwood Skills: James is an offensive combatants, strong willed and very maneuverable with his casting against a strong enemy. His most resourceful spells are those that pushes and sends his enemies flying many feet away, to those that can cause bodily harm such as elemental fire and lightning spells. His quick speed for countering surprises his enemies with the mass of his build, expecting the man to be slower than the other wizards who were much lighter, how such thinking became their downfall. James is quick to work on his feet as well, feeling the need to keep a solitary stance would leave him wide opened to be countered and taken down by his enemy. He was a former teacher and overseer of those who practiced Defense against the Dark arts at the Salem Witches Institute in Salem, Massachusetts. His numerous battles against Death eaters has made a name for the man around the states. The American Magical Governmnet knows of his uses of the Unfogivable curses to destroy their enemies, but for their mission of keeping their own kind along with the muggle society safe, he is permitted as an Auror to use the Unforgivable curse when needed. Writing Sample: The nightlife in Dallas was lively to say the least, the weekend had come for many long awaiting citizens of the city to enjoy their time off from working the day away and now they had the change to relax. In the heart of Dallas, two lovers walked with their arms laced together, finishing with their hands as they waited patiently at the edge of the sidewalk to cross to the other side towards their destination. "Becky, would you like to grab something to eat?" The young man asked as he peered down at the lovely brunette haired girl. She blushed slightly at the thought, but was more enticed with being with her crush at the moment, so close together. "I'm ready to eat whenever you ar-AHHH" She screamed before the sentence could be completed, a tall, dark cloaked figure ran past the two lovers, pushing them aside as they hit the ground. He continued to run as spectators looked at the young couple on the floor collecting themselves. The figure turned his head slightly as he ran, the shine of his silver mask glistened quickly before he turned to face forward. The young man scooted closer to the girl who sat on her bottom. "Becky!!! Are you alright?? Here, let me hel..." Another quick bodied figure interrupted the boy, but instead of colliding with the two again, he merely flipped over them and continued his pace to chase after his target. Only being a couple of inches shorter and more bulky, the man was on a mission and was hunting for human life that night, or to be more clerical, wizard life. The Death Eater known as Fran took his wand into his hand and aimed forward at a brick wall, feeling his predator coming closer and closer no matter how much of a head start he had gained before. "Deprimo" He shouted with great haste, almost in one blur as a white light flashed with the sound of crashing, the wall before him now had a hole entrance into a packed restaurant. The Death Eater glanced at the confused and scared patron inside as he slowly made his way into the light of the restaurant, showing is full figure with his mask shining the most. His wand stretched at the very end of his arm as he held it tight, seemingly to seek out a new victim to add to his collection. The echoing sound of bare feet against stone grew louder as James turned the corner, seeing the death eater in the full light as innocent bystanders of the muggle world glared in horror. James stayed in the shadows of the night as the death Eater turned around to face the alleyway once again. He began to laugh. "Come and retrieve me...if you dare. But you know I'll kill one by one every step you take to get closer!!" He shouted, everyone gasped and shook in their place as the mysterious man, some of the men stood angrily as they glared, but unknowing to them, he was not bluffing. The clouds above the sky grew darker as thunder clasped in the atmosphere, a downpour began, soaking James and his clothing as he huffed for air after his long chase. Slowly raising his wand in the air, he steadied his hand and took a deep breath before whispering. "Stupify..." James spoke in a deep baritone voice, blast coming from the tip of his wand quickly made it inside, but was easily deflected by the Death Eater, but his enemy shuffled back for a moment at the impact. That was James' time to strike, apparating from his spot in a blur, he suddenly appeared behind the Death eater, choke holding the man as the both struggled. The dark wizard dropped his wand as James grasped his wrists tightly and twisted it. "You're coming with me you monster, and we're gonna have some fun" With that statement, James apparated the two once more, disappearing from the middle of the restaurant. Far in the barren farm lands of Galveston, Texas, the body of the fleeing Death Eater continued to burn into the morning light of the new day, James standing next to the bonfire as he peered down at the pit that concealed his work. The sound of a owl's cry came from above, but the man didn't need to look up as the owl landed on his shoulder, skillfully and with haste, carrying a small note in its beak. "Another message from the AMG?..." James plucked the noted from his owl's mouth and read its contents slowly, his tired eyes needed rest after a long chase, but the note was of great importance, and needed to be handled with up most secrecy. "So, the rumors are true then....finally, we'll get some answers on what happened so long ago" James crushed the note and tossed it into the burning pit, as the paper touched the flame, James and his owl were gone from sight.

The Throwaways

Derek managed to keep his back to the steel wall on the far side of the training grounds while the steam rose and filtered through the area thanks to Ri's fire adding to the water that spouted from the ground. During the slight fog, the boy could see Autumn and Esfir floating through the air to avoid gunfire and meet towards the others, but the closer they got a weird weapon firing foam launched itself towards the two, hitting Esfir directly as she fell to the ground. Without warning, smaller guns rose from the ground and looked around the training area, targeting anything with a heat signature with the laser sight mounted on top of its metal frame. Several turned towards Ri, as her assault on the water spout stopped, she still had a small flame source tucked in her palm, like before, the machines fired a steady stream of foam blasts towards the two. Quickly thinking, it was Hood who tackled his teammate to the ground as they rolled away from the barrage of foam blasts, from the looks of the power they came out, and the way they took down Esfir, those weapons weren't to be taken light heartedly. There was a strange mechanical noise coming from about Derek's head on the wall, looking up, he could still see one of the machine guns armed and ready for anything that came close, it must have not spotted Derek when the steam filled the training facility. "We've had enough of bullets for today" raising his arms above his head, the boy shot out a white beam from both his hands that connected to the mounted machine gun, the light energy blasted through the solid metal, only a second passed before it exploded and shattered into pieces. Derek shielded his head as the metal shards flew down, thankfully they were only small pieces. Another sound startteled the boy as one of the foam blasters came right in front of him and armed itself. "Oh sh-" Derek dashed out of the way while the gun fired a round, hitting the steel wall where he once stool. At that close of a range, a small dent was left on the wall from the impact. More guns popped up from the floor and began to fire at will, Derek stayed close to the wall as he ran, jumped and ducked to avoid getting hit, like his team mates. In the distance, Vegas managed to get a hold of Esfir and help her to her feet as they both ran and dodged the foam attacks. Without looking, Derek ran into something small and heavy, knocking the two figures to the ground, shaking his head he noticed it was Cody, the animal changing teen. "Critter!" "Derek! Or Flare...whichever, these things are everywhere" They both looked around, indeed, their walking grounds were now a active mine field of blasters and escalating floor panels. On the left of the two boys, Magnus could be seen crushing the barrels of the three blasters in front of him, bending and twisting their metal shells as they resisted and struggled to be set free. Once he was finished, the machines fired, only to have their foam fill up until they either exploded or over flooded. Magnus smiled at his work, but it was short lived as a random foam blaster came from behind and shot towards the boy, making a direct hit to his shoulder. "Magnus!" Critter shouted, both he and Flare sprinted towards his direction to assist. Flare firing his energy beams at several blasters as they popped up, Critter changed suddenly into a cheetah to sprint faster past the field of weapons while Flare covered his hasty dash. Moments later, the animal changing teen lunged into the air and tackled the foam blaster that shot at Magnus, clawing and biting the metal casing until it froze in its place, lifeless. Changing back to his normal human form, Critter finally made it to Magnus and helped dust off the foam that stuck to his body. "That looked painful" Magnus grunting slightly as he stood, another explosion came from the distance as Flare blasted the last foam cannon in their area before meeting up with the two boys. "Trust me, it was" Magnus replied, Derek scanned the area through his visor, seeing Ri melt a couple of the foam blasters as Hood provided a distraction as he ran past a couple of them for their sights to target him. A shouting scream could be heard as Echo took down three in one shot, before a foam blast could hit her, Brawler scooped the girl into his arms as they both barrel rolled on the ground before facing the gun once again, echo sending and other sonic blast to the machine as it blew up from the sheer force she delivered. It seemed as if all of their ground enemies were destroyed, or had retreated for the moment. "Let's regroup" Magnus shouted, everyone met in the middle of the training grounds, catching their breaths and taking a small break. "Well, this sure is one hell of a ******* work out" Riona panted, Hood patted her on the back as she in -hailed and ex-hailed with great force. "You should probably cut down on the smokes for a bit" Carter commented as he placed Autumn back on the ground, wiping the sweat from the brow on his forehead, Autumn seemed to be shaken up a little, but doing fine for the time being. The girl bent over huffing more, only replying with a middle finger raised in the air to his reply. "You alright there Esfir? I saw that foam hit ya hard" Derek rubbed the back of his neck to stretch out his muscles. "The landing was the hardest ,but after the added more force to the foam blasters later, I'm glad the first one wasn't as bad" She smiled. "We have to be on our toes, Geist isn't someone to be taken lightly." Slate flexed his hands as the tips of his fingers hit the palm of his glove, the shot from the foam blast surprised the boy that he didn't sense the danger coming sooner. "I'm sure this is just to see if we're keeping our guard up or not". Slate was right, silently, small panels behind the floor opened up, this time, Slate sensed the danger as he shouted. "GET DOWN!!!" Not everyone reacted as quickly, several metal coils shot up from the ground with lightning fast speed, grabbing Critter as the coil wrapped around his ankles and lifting his body in the air. Two other coils collided with Brawlers chest, sending the teen flying to the far side of the training facility as Vegas luckily missed getting hit by a coil that came from behind him. Magnus reacted quickly from getting grabbed, deploying a magnetic shield around his body as the metal coils wrapped around squeezing tighter and tighter to get to the teen, he added more energy to keep his shield up and working while Phoenix lit fire into her hands and blasted at the twisting and winding metal. Flare missed with several energy blasts before he was grabbed around the neck by a coil and lifted into the air yelling. Hood held onto echos hand as they did their best to dodge the attacking metal, Esfir floated in the air to avoid the striking claws at the ends of the coils. Flare struggled in the air until he had a clear shot, aiming his hand at the base of the coil and firing his white blast until the metal exploded at the base, falling high from the air and landing on his side on the metal ground. "Someone get me down from here!!" Critter shouted as his body swayed in the air, the grasp around his ankles held tightly, Flare groaned as he rolled to his side, holding onto his shoulder as he hissed in pain. Looking up through his visor, the boy aimed his arm towards the coil and sot several times, missing at each attempt. Magnus finally pushed off the coils that surrounded his magnetic shield and looked around at the new threat facing the team, he was right not to underestimate Geist and his tactics.

"Subject Derek DeWitt is one to literally, "think of his toes". Hindered less by his sight disability than his social mannerisms and more so on his mental processing of his environment. The subjects power to concentrate light energy into his very body is an annomoly in itself, but once enough pure energy is concentrated to a single extraction point, it can be released as a steady of violent projectile...." Derek turned the page to continue reading his dossier profile that was given to him earlier by Ms. Vedit, all the information on here was spot on....almost scary in a sense as the boy shivered at the thought of being spied on for so many years of his life without his realization. The echoing sounds of sneakers bounced in the narrow hallway where he and another member of his team walked to their rooms, touching his hand on the new page, Derek continued to read more. "Medical history shows no means of the loss of sight, all physical tests, external and internal, have come back 100% active and healthy. But, sources have come to a conclusion that the raw energy might have adapted in the boys brain during birth development. Studies will need to be taken further when the sunject is extracted". Derek sighed at the news, but at least he knew a possible cause for the power and blindness, without warning, Derek bumped into the person who lead him through the hallway. A bit rough, but the boy was used to running into things when he was reading deeply. "I think this one is your room Derek" Stated the boy who can manipulate the shadows, "Hood" was his name if Derek remembered correctly. "Ah, thanks a lot Aiman....Aim..." The other boy slightly laughed at Derek's attempt to say his name. "Let's keep it to Hood for now, I'll make flash cards to break down my name for you later, haha" Derek smiled, feeling a little embarrassed but at least Hood was care free enough to not be so sensitive about the name. Turning to his right, Derek searched for his door knob until he found it, entering the room and excusing himself as Hood continued down the hall to find his own room. Once entering, there was a large bark that ended the silence, Derek's heart raced as he looked at the direction the sound came from. "SILVER!!!" Dropping his things, the boy rushed forward and dropped on the carpet of his room as his faithful friend came to him and showed his love. Lapping and nuzzling Derek's body as the mutt was brought for a tight embrace. "Wow...that was surprisingly nice of them to do. But I'm not complaining one bit" Derek brushed the pelt of Silver's fur over and over again, when his hand brushed against his collar, there was something there, a wide object by length that seemed cold and almost metallic. "What's this?" He questioned as he removed the item from the dog collar, skillfully analyzing the width and diameters of the unknown object, he was fascinated by the craftsmanship and detailed workings. On the front it had a crystal lens, about two inches in height as the width expanded the majority of the face plate. At the very ends of the object, there were two round spots with a small trigger button on each side, it was weird until Derek pressed one of the buttons, the a voice echoed from the device. "Hello Derek, this is Cassandra Veidt. The object before you is known as a Crystal Visual visor. Given your limitations, we were instructed to make you an item for you to tap into the optical lobes of your brain and give it an electronic boost to stimulate the dead tissue and bring it to life. Our tests have proven effective with other blind patients, so no doubtingly it shall be of great use to you as well. Enjoy the world Mr. DeWitt" The recording died soon after, Derek was speechless, but slowly lifted the visor to his eyes and adjusted until the round ends met his temples. Once in the correct spot, the round ends quickly latched on like suction cups and sent a small burst of electricity into the boys brain, seconds passed of momentary pain, but when Derek opened his eyes inside the visor, he could see light. Colors, objects, darkess and life itself. "This is...incredible" He whispered to himself before standing on his feet, looking around his room to see it decorated in Brown and teal blue furnishings for his bed, Brown carpeting and teal blue curtains. There was a bookshelf to his left along with a small computer desk working station, and a walk in closet to the right of it. On the other side was a well lit bathroom with all the items he needed for a clean wash. The boy was still in awe at the new sensation of sight, but he wasn't complaining as he donned a large smile from ear to ear, his dog made it back to his bed and comfortably began to slumber once again. "Well...might as well see the rest of the world, heh" Turning around, Derek made his way out of his room and roamed the hall a little more, but there was a familiar scent that was lingering in the air, also smelt delicious! Following the scent, and looking for the first time without running into anything, Derek made it into a large and lavishing kitchen with two of his other team mates already inside enjoying themselves. "Wow" Derek gasped, catching he attention of his team mates. "Hey, it's you again. It's Derek, right?" The young girl asked, the boy nodded in response. "I'm Autumn, and that's Cody, in case you needed to know who was here" She smiled, Derek simply tapped on the side of his visor and smiled back. "Thanks, but that wont be needed. What smells so good?" "Take a seat, it's beef stew. I made it so you'll never want anything else again." Cody laughed, Derek took a seat at the table while Cody continued to cook. "I'm starting to change my mind on this whole idea, but maybe we can pull this off" Derek continued to look around the well equipped kitchen. "We just have to stick together, room mates always lead to being a small family anyways" Autumn replied. "Oh, did you get a code name yet? I'm "Echo" and master chef Cody is going by "Critter". How about you Derek?" The boy had to ponder for a moment before answering. "I'm "Flare", I think that's what the dossier on me mentioned. May sound funny but I like it already" Smiling once again, the light from the ceiling brushed against the metal exterior of his visor like a well maintained car. The boy was warming up to the place a little, and despite the new "gift" he received from Cassandra, he was feeling a little more comfortable now that his dog was healthy and living with him. Derek's never had room mates before, but there's a first time for everything.

The Throwaways

Derek placed his hand on his forehead, feeling the tips of his bangs touch his back hand and dangle in the air, it was a a nice token of relief for the other prisoners like him to reveal their true identities and powers to lighten the mood and situation they were in. It was also comforting knowing that he wasn't the only person who had special abilities like they did, though different, together they would be a strong force to fight against the Big Five. But, the current situation of their negotiations and terms of agreement didn't sit well with the boy. Finally taking a raggid breath, Derek leaned his body against the back of his chair to ponder about their current situation, he began to become frustrated with the up beat attitude, feeling like the others didn't realize this could all be a trap in the very end. "This is rediculous..." Derek finally broke the silence after the shadow manipulating teen "Hood" spoke, keeping his eyes closed, Derek stood from his chair and dismissed himself from the center table in the middle of their interrogation room. The other pondered about his sudden burst of aggression. Hood simply cocked his head to the side as Derek carefully scooted over to the wall of the room as he used his bare feet to stub his toe against the barrier. Placing his hands on the wall, he turned back towards the table crossing his arms in the process and keeping his eyes closed. "Care to share Mr. Quiet?" Cody broke the silence, Derek didn't answer as Hood and Tyler raised their eyebrows. "I have a name, it's Derek.....Derek DeWitt. Before waking up in this piss smelling prison, I was applying to colleges and living fine on my own, just going about my life like I usually do before those goons came and abducted me from my apartment. They even shot my best friend Silver...." Pausing for a moment, Derek remembered the hurt whimper of his seeing eye dog before he was shot with the same tranquilizer, the one limitations he had with his blindness and lack of training with his powers to not stop his attacker. Ri placed her feet on the ground before speaking. "They killed your friend to get to you?" She slightly gasped. "I dunno, and it was my dog, had him since he was a puppy when I was going through middle school. A old friend but faithful and protective." Derek answered as he rubbed the sides of his arms for a moment. "If anything, they needed you to come one way or another. I'm sure your pet was shot with the same thing they used to get us as well. Seems like it only lasts a couple of hours, so I'm sure he'll be fine. But with this deal they're giving us, I'm sure you'll be able to see him again and kick some baddie butt" Slate smiled, it only disturbed Derek's thinking more. "Ok, so they're asking for us to be their new lap dogs to get rid of their previous saviors. Anyone else thinks this sounds a little fishy,? Especially the part where we each have an explosive lodged in our skulls? I just don't trust the idea to be compensated for something when they have the ace up their sleeve..." Derek finished as he rubbed the side of his head, folding his knee upwards on the wall. It was Esfir who spoke next. "Well, what choice do we really have now?" Everyone remained silent, rethinking the offer they were made, it wasn't settling, but at least if they could band together with one another to get their objective accomplished, they would hope to be released from their captors. "By the way..." She broke the silence once again. "What can you do Derek? Like power wise and what not?" "Oh...sorry, ummmm....I can project energy blasts from by body, I usually like to fire them from my hands. I dunno, I get a lot of energy when I'm around sunlight and high watt light sources. Whatever cell they stuck me in left me weak and sluggish, so I'm sure that was black lighting in there, another reason I don't do well when going to clubs with friends" Derek finally gave a small chuckle at the thought, the only happy thought that passed his mind that he welcomed. Jacob smirked at the mention of his powers, sounded interesting to use natural light as a souce or energy, even for projectile attacks. "Trust us Derek, we're all in the same mentality about our situation, we're not idiots. But like Esfir mentioned, we're kinda low on rebellious ideas unless you know how to disarm these power inhibitors." Everyone looked at their own bands on their body, a big road block if they were to fight against their captors. "We might as well listen to the rest of their plans for us, for the time being. We are to work as a team anyhow" Derek opened his eyes, his grey and white mixed eyes looking at his new team members, but it was Ri who spoke next. "That's kinda rare, are you Eurpoean? I mean you look American to me" She smiled, Derek shrugged. "Dunno, I'm an orphan so not sure where my bloodline runs" That little piece of information was enough for Jacob to narrow his eyes and frown a bit. "It's because you're blind...isn't it" He said almost sternly, now he knew that Geist was serious in his plans if he would recruit such a mixed bunch of kids from different backgrounds, powers...and limitation.

The Throwaways

The afternoon sun rays danced int eh air of Derek's room, the boy sat at his work desk wrapping up his final papers to hand in before spring break, always getting his assignments handed in before the rest of his classmates like usual. Small etching sounds echoes in the quiets room as the boys pencil wrote on his note paper, the boys left palm holding down the thin piece of paper as his fingers traced and outlined where the space lines were so he wouldn't write all over in a jumbled mess. On his bed behind himself, next to the entrance to his room, laid his trustful seeing eye dog, the Siberian husky called " Silver", a loyal and faithful dog he's owned ever since he was in middle school. The large dog slumbered without a care as the sunlight heated the mutts fur, calming and relaxing as the hours passed away from earlier. Finally, with a loud clank of his pencil dropping, Derek was finished his research paper and leaned back on his chair, stretching his neck from side to side, welcoming the release of oxygen from his joints as they popped like a machine gun's fire. Derek peered towards the window of his room, feeling the warmth of the setting sun always relaxed the boy, even though he could only see darkness through his eyes, he still felt at peace knowing there was a source out in the world that gave new life and light to everything that the shadows touched. there was a dimming sound that echoed in the kitchen of the apartment, the noise grew louder as the seconds passed. Derek finally stood from his seat as Silver turned in his spot, lifting his head to see his master finally leaving his work station. "Come on Silver, time to get you some food" the simple word brought the dogs tail to life as it wagged from side to side onto the sheets of the bed, without command, the dog stretched and hopped down onto the hardwood floor and joined his master at his side. Brushing against his leg before leading the way, the echoing of the dogs nails hitting the hardwood floor was the perfect guide for Derek to follow. Already knowing the layout of his own apartment like the back of his hand, he still marveled at his dogs assistance everywhere he went. Entering the kitchen, Derek brushed his hand against the sleek tile counter top until he found his egg timer buzzing, grabbing hold of the device, Derek turned it back to "0" and silenced the noise once and for all. "That's better". But the silence was short lived as another sound came from behind the boy, Derek raised an eyebrow at his ringtone on his mobile. Turning around swiftly, Derek made his way towards the other side of his kitchen and answered the call. "Hello?" "Mr. Derek Dewitt?" The voice ask calmly. "This is he, who may I ask is calling?" "This is Sharron Abronoth from the main office, there's some people here to see you from the University of Houston. They said they would like to speak to you about your application" Derek's heart pumped fast, his college application finally made it through and he would be accepted to a new university and state all together. "Yes, uh...please, send them up" Derek smiled, disconnecting the call he quickly served Silver a dish of kibbles before there was a knocking on the door. "That was quick..." Derek pondered to himself, but he glided towards his doorway and opened nonchalantly as two men in grey and black suits stood outside of the doorway, both wearing dark tinted shades as the peered down at the student. Silver continued to munch on his food until he looked up, instantly fearing a threatening presence at his master, the dog growled and stood fierce as the men entered the apartment. "Mr. DeWitt? Derek DeWitt?" One of the men spoke as he looked around, the other keeping an eye on the dog that growled at them. "Yes that's me, you two are from the University of Houston I presume?" Derek closed the door and locked it before turning, though he could not see himself, he was beaming with excitement as the two gentlemen made themselves comfortable in his quaint living space. "Something like that, we're here to take you for a personal tour of the university, we know of your blindness and so they sent us to be your escorts" One of the men had stated, he had a deep voice, almost lazy but stern. Derek raised an eyebrow once again, he hasn't informed anyone or even put down on his applications about his disability with sight, something was amiss, and Silver was right on point as the closest one to Derek suddenly grabbed the boy in a headlock and held him firmly. "Hey! What the hell is going on?? SILVER!!" On cue, the husky charged and bit the man holding Derek on the knee, causing him to curse and kick as the dog latched on. "******* MUTT!!" The man said, the other withdrew a gun from his shirt pocket and pointed towards Silver, Derek smelled the well clean metallic arm piece, instinctively, the boy extended his own hand towards the darkness of his mind, aiming to where the smell was coming from. In a flash, a white beam of energy quickly projected itself from Derek's hand and blasted at the armed man, sending him stumbling back as he fell onto Derek's dining table, crushing it in half. The larger man finally kicked Silver off from his leg, the dog whimpered as a shot fired in the air, a small syringe stuck from the dogs side as fluid injected quickly into its system. "Silver?!.... Whe-" Another shot stopped Derek's words, the stinging pain emanating from his right shoulder halted the teen as he staggered, hitting the island counter top in his kitchen. Derek felt weaker and weaker as the seconds passed, he could make out the voices of his assailants, but it was in a jumble. "Target sedated, we'll extract once the coast is clear...." The words died slowly as Derek fell to his side in his kitchen, the darkness that usually was his ally became a scary foe. "It's a good thing the sun was setting, otherwise this piece of **** punk would have had the upper hand" One of the two men stated. "Tell me about it, no wonder it was best to wait until dusk. Let's bag him and bring him back" The larger man replied, once Derek was completely unconscious, the hauled the boy out of his apartment complex, leaving the dog to slumber alone in his home. Hours later, Derek stirred on the cold floor of his room, or a room in general. It almost felt like concrete, it was rough by texture and obviously uncomfortable as the boy groaned. The room was like a jail cell, but the light fixture above had been replaced with black light instead of regular light bulbs. Derek felt around for a couple minutes until he cam upon a corner in his cell, he felt drained and lifeless as the black light kept him from receiving natural light energy. The teen simply stuck to the corner of his cell and hugged his legs to his chest, wondering his fate by the men who took him from his own home and only true friend.
18. Subject Number: #010 Real Name: Derek DeWitt Codename: "Flare" Age: 23 Appearance: Derek "Flare" DeWitt (Just changing the hair and eye color in the description) Derek stands about 5'10 from the rest of his peers, average build with some bulk for working out excessively. He's definitely one to handle his own weight, white skin with a small tan with his arms and legs covered his long red hair at the base of his head, extending to his shoulders. Derek wears glasses even though his eyes are cloudy white. The teen usually wears cargo shorts and a long sleeve black thermal shirt that hugs his body, the heat from the sun doesn't seem to bother him much, even though his friends always complain its burning up. Derek is blind by birth, doctors could not figure why his eyesight did not function, he was born a healthy child thanks to his birth mother whom he never knew in life. The only explanation would be a side effect of his super powered abilities. But even with his disability, he's managed and adapted to his life thanks to the help of his seeing eye dog he has at his house, a white and black Siberian husky who's loyal and at his side when needed on call. Personality: Through hardships of being a foster child, Derek really hasn't show and hatred for the life he's been dealt. Going through life blind and limited without one of his senses hasn't stopped the boy from making friends or achieving a strong scholastic standing in school. He's a pretty mellow guy and knows his virtues from advice given to him by his mentors, Derek is one to know from right and wrong and doesn't plan to stray from his life lessons to choose from in between. Derek likes to listen more than talk, but he is one to give good advice to solve a problem once he listens to both ends of the spectrum. Powers/Abilities: Derek has the ability to draw on the power of sunlight and light in general to produce pure energy into his body, when concentrating enough he has the ability to project pure energy blasts from his hands towards his enemy. The energy comes out as a bright white light, but the damage it causes is enough to destroy a heavy armored tank, the limitations to his ability is that from his own power source. He requires the natural rays of the sun or powerful light source to produce enough of his own kinetic energy to use in combat. Derek has been practicing with his own powers, trying to produce a "solar flare" blast that will temporarily blind his opponents with a flash as bright as the sun. Writing Snippet: Derek strolled down the busy streets of the city, finishing his class that afternoon after attending all morning since 7 am, the boy was joined by a couple of his classmates who tagged along for the long walk. All the students talked about their day at school and activities for the weekend as the passed the corner, Derek's husky puppy walked close by to his new master, lively and sniffing for new scents as the group continued their stroll. As the group turned the corner, they were bombarded by a group of men who ran towards them and knocked each student down onto the concrete streets. Derek fell to his side and scraped his shoulder in the process, the small puppy barking madly as the men shook their heads and gathered up the wadded up rolls of money they had dropped. "******* kids, move the hell out of the way" One of the men sneered as they scooped their well stolen prize, but the haste of the delay caught up to them as they could hear shouting coming from down the street where they had come from. "Hurry up dumb ass, they're getting closer" Another shouted at he got the last of his cash, he knew there were more still on the ground, but it would be better to leave with what they have rather than being caught by the police. Derek finally made it to his hands and knees as he tried to stand, feeling around with his hands at his surroundings as the teen felt some thin pieces of paper and random books scattered on the ground below. As the boy tried to stand onto his feet, he was kicked on the side of the face by the largest man who passed by him. "Stupid piece of ****" He laughed as Derek groaned, the sounds of footsteps could be heard vanishing in the distance as a new set came towards the group, police officers bent down to check on the students who had been knocked down. One officer checking on Derek, his puppy whimpering as he nestled to his master. "You alright kid?" The officer asked as he inspected the wound. "Yeah..." Derek spat some blood out onto the concrete floor, the foul taste of raw metallic coming from his body always through him off, even the slight smell of it. In the distance, a vans screeching could be heard as everyone shot their heads towards the direction of the sound. Derek began to sweat a little and felt burning itch coming from his palm, his body shook slightly as his seeing eye puppy whimpered at the new feeling surrounding his master. As the fleeing van began to drive past the group and police officers, Derek instinctively extended his hand towards the van. Once the van came in front of his palm, the side exploded and flipped over several times before landing on its top, sliding onto the street until it ran into a light pole. Everyone looked in awe, they could not believe what had happened before their eyes, Derek calmed himself as he finally stood up, one of his friends helping the boy get a steady stance. "Dude, did you see that?!? It just, well....it blew up!" Derek shook his head, reminding his friend of his inability to see. But he knew something for sure, he was the cause of it. The police wasted not time as they surrounded the van, capturing the thieves who knocked the kids down from before. "Man, that was ******* awesome. Let's get you home bud" Derek's friend guided the boy towards his house, the others left their separate way as well, surely to talk about this event when they go back to school after the long weekend. Other Skills: Despite his handicap, Derek has the unique ability to work well with electronics. He has the ability to hear the binary codes the electronic device is emitting, enabling the boy to translate the code into words and letters in his head, as if reading a braille. Using this skill to his advantage, Derek has become quite skillful with programming and hacking into systems on the internet without fail

22. Demitri still felt uneasy after his little mental lapse when Baast made eye contact, now that their enemy was gone for the moment, the three were able to collect themselves and wait for the rest of their team members to make contact. But with the time that passed, none of the other operatives came for almost an hour, tensions rose as Demitri paced himself back and forth in the alleyway they stowed away in. The innocent civilians that were mauled to death by the large feline beasts were already taken away by the HDF clean up crew, contacted by the commandant quickly after Baast made her exit in the distance. The muscled man continued to watch his wrist watch, as each second passes, more rage build inside the group leader, but his pacing didn't seem to bother either Ali or Luwein, both sat down on a metal trash can, sitting to one another in silence. Trying to collect their thoughts about the astonishing information that they were actually blood related, their parents the same and now two lives are one again after their passing. Who would have thought, an orphaned child raised by Mist as his only leading family member, now knowing that Ali and Jason Talon were actually the same spawn children of is own mother and father....it was a lot to handle. Though Luwein originally was as distant as Marcus was when they first met the mystic years ago, was now opening up to the group more emotionally and mentally, but with this little candle lit in the cathedral, only questions arose. Demitri stopped his pacing for a moment as he looked at the two, though they sat in silence next to one another, Ali held onto Luwein's tiny hand, almost in a death grip as they whispered to one another. The giant sighed, he was sweating almost unnaturally after his worrying, but for some reason his heart rate elevated as the blood flowed without stopping in his veins. The giant thought he was probably exhausting himself, not hearing from his team members after the near deadly skirmish they had with Baast would make anyone worry. There was a possibility that they too encountered the deadly goddess, hopefully they would be strong enough to survive. Still, Demitri had a lot of his own questions running through his mind. It was surprising the female goddess was so...easy with the trio, to say the least. Though aggressive and with blood lust in her attempts, the fight seemed rather too easy for Demitri's liking. The commandant leaned against the brick wall of the alleyway, continuing to keep his eye on his wife and new member of his family, he could see the two silently whispering to one another, small whispers echoed in the narrow hiding place while civilians walked about their lives, not seeming to realize that if they had been in that exact location an hour ago, they would have probably be dead thanks to Basst's feline minions. The giant sighed as he scratched the back on his head, his free hanging hair tied in his pony tail dangled as his thick fingers caressed his flesh. Without the man expecting, his phone rang, all eyes stared at Demitri as the giant reached into his pocket, flipping his phone open, placing the mobile to his ear. "This is Athens" Demitri answered in a huff, still catching his breath as he continued to pour sweat, Ali noticed the change in her husband, but remained still holding onto Luwein's hand as he answered the call. "Marcus? Hello? I can't hear you clearly....what did you find?..." The line was fuzzy, the giant knew he could hear the voice clearly, but the words seemed to skip to and fro during his conversation, eventually the line cut off as the phone cut the line off. "Damn, line went dead" Demitri gritted his teeth, closing his phone as he looked at the two. "Do you think he found any information about Tank and Annomander?" Ali spoke finally, standing from the trash can as she made her way towards Demitri, slowly inspecting the commandant as he continued to look at his stop watch. "If he did, I couldn't make anything out...the signal was weak. Where in the hell are the others?" Demitri growled deeply in his throat, Luwein gripped the top of the trash can he was sitting on, he could feel the rage rolling off of Demitri's body, Ali felt the same emotions as well, even without using her powers. Now standing in front of Demitri, the empath placed her hand on his chest, feeling it fall and rise quickly as the giant took breath in. "Whats the matter love? You seem off..." Ali looked up at her husband, the giant stared down into her gaze, he was a bit exhausted after their battle but it was a surprise to the giant as well. not only that, but his pent up aggression was out of the ordinary. "I'm just wondering about the rest of the team, something could have happened and we wouldn't know it. Not only that, Marcus is out of reach....hate to admit it, but I could really use someone with a cool head right now." Demitri untied his pony tail, letting his hair fall to his shoulders as the wet bangs spiked at the tips. Shuffling could be heard at the end of the alleyway, the trio looked and stood at the ready for whomever may come. To their delight, It was Pocket and Jason who came from around the corner, Pocket riding on Jason's back like a horse as they ran towards the others finally stopping in front of Ali and Demitri. Tank came from the building rooftop in full steel form, Patch attached to his back as he held on tight as they fell, the boy's body weight slamming into the brick road as his feet dug into the gravel below. Cloak appeared from the shadows with Copy Cat striding forward as they paused and looked around. The last two came, Gene and Sasa creeping from behind Demitri, walking normally as if not to seem to peculiar to the humans. Ali felt her heart lighten up a little, seeing all the members accounted for and present. Patch slid off of Tank's back as the boy turned human once more, making his way towards Luwein as the teenager hold onto the blind child's hand as he helped him off the trash can. "WHERE IN THE HELL HAVE YOU ALL BEEN AT FOR THE PAST HOUR!??!" Demitri roared, the sudden burst of anger surprised everyone, on the inside, it surprised Demitri as well. "Our contact communicators were acting weird, even I couldn't get it to work Demtiri. What's with the attitude?" Sasa placed her hands on her hips and looked at her commanding officer angrily, Demitri strode forward until he stood towering over the female operative. Sasa was surprised as well, but she held her place in front of the over tempered Commandant. "Maybe you're not as useful as you had imagined..." Everyone stood at edge as Demitri flexed his muscles, his eyes white as electricity coursed through his body, Ali instantly stepped in front of her husband, standing in between the two team mates. "Demitri, what in the world is going on with you?!" The giant huffed angrily. "You seem to forget you place Commander, move aside" Demtiri growled, but this time, Cloak and Copy Cat stood at Ali's side. "Commandant Athens, control yourself, what happened while we were away?" Demitri scuffed to the side through his nose as he turned and walked out of the alleyway for some sunlight, Ali informed the others of their fight with Baast and finding her, along with the fact Luwein used his powers to subdue her and fend her off with the rest of her minions. The rest of the team explained their searches, but they didn't come up against anything or saw any sightings of Baast of her feline hoard, but the new attitude change with Demitri was a mystery with everyone. Cloak crossed his arms as he thought to himself. "Do you think Baast has done something to our Commandant? If so, his position is compromised and he would need to be taken from his commanding, and base command position if he is under some kind of persuasion,. Only problem is if that were to happen, it has to be either approved by the High Council, but we know they are themselves being detained. The other way would be by 5 commanders issuing the demotion and detaining of their Commandant. If that were to happen, we would have to be absolute in the choice, if we're wrong, its treason with an execution sentence" Everyone's mood seemed to shift, they didn't want something like that to happen, especially to Demitri who's been one of the most influential leaders they've had since his late father. Ali shook her head at the thought, but for now they needed to make sure they could still trace Baast and not lose her in the city. "For now, we need to keep the search going. I'll keep Tank, Jason, Pocket and Luwein with us, we'll calm down the Commandant and continue the search. The rest of you, go with Cloak and expand the search farther than before." Sasa and the others nodded as Cloak transported their group to a further location, Ali looked over her shoulder to see Demitri continue his attempts to call Marcus back at HDF, grunting to himself more and more from the denied answer calls. The giant cooled off a little after his sudden out burst, he continued to scratch his shoulder area, underneath his black t-shirt, there was a large scratch from the panther he fought earlier. The scratch burned and throbbed painfully as the giant continued to sweat.
23. The evening hours crept upon the group slowly, the moon shifting in the night sky like clockwork as the residents inside the large mansion base of the Crimson Guard retreated to their own rooms for a well deserved nights slumber after obtaining the carrier they sought after for so long. They had a right to hold their heads up high, previously they were only able to protect the current carrier from a distance or keep a slight watchful eye as the carrier lived their life unknowing to the fact their own life was in extreme danger 24/7. Now that things have changed for the worse, namely the current carrier being a child and unable to produce a child at his stage in life, his life was more valuable until the time came. All the members of the guard knew after the mall incident that the Maldito family knows of his face and identity, so watching the child would be that much more cautious of where he goes and who he interacts with from now on. All the lights in the mansion were off, only hanging lights from the ceiling dimmed low to illuminate the many hallways for anyone who roamed the halls. Which is exactly what Alexander took advantage of after being taken to his room, he made himself comfortable after being escorted to his own personal room, the boy was astonished at how big and well furnished it was. Large flat screen television, couches and its own living room area with a personal mini fridge stocked with snacks and goodies to last the boy weeks inside the room alone. The bed alone was made to fit a king, or for someone as large as Geralt's body size, maybe even two of him. No one came into his room after the woman escorted him, giving Alexander enough privacy to change clothes and unpack all of his items he had on his person: His personal laptop with another mini laptop for his hacking purposes, a portable PSP unit that was modified to be used as a pocket computer and his items he bought at the mall for his all night gaming sessions he was planning for the weekend. The boy went to the closet and saw there were already clothes inside, a little large for the boy, but it was something warm for him to wear while he slept, but sleep was not on Alexander's mind this evening, once the lights in the hallway dimmed, Alexander took his large laptop and mini computer and crept out into the hallway like he was inside a military base as an intruder. The members of the Crimson Guard who protected him were nice and friendly, but there were more Boles Brothers that Alexander was unfamiliar with, Ahsen though, he felt the most connection to since she seemed like the most level headed one and civil Creeping down the grand staircase, the boy was cautious not to make as much noise as possible as he walked barefoot inside the estate, the long sleeve shirt he changed into draped past his hands greatly as the boy held onto his electronic items, the same went for the sweat pants he wore from the closet, the child had to triple tie the waist band so it would feel snug on his body. Once at the bottom of the staircase, the lights were much dimmer in the hallways, Alexander figured not every parts of the mansion were well lit, so he picked up his PSP computer and tapped a button, bringing the screen to life, the bright light was enough itself to guide the way. The child froze for a moment as he could hear chatter coming from atop the staircase, multiple voices coming closer and closer, without thinking, Alexander shuffled down a random corridor until he got to the very end, opening the large door and quickly diving inside as the door closed. "That was a close one, now then, where am I?" Alexander questioned as he flashed his little flashlight device around, it looked like a library, a very large library at that. Small flame lanterns were used inside this room, they burned through the night, caring not if anyone occupied the room or not. "I'm sure this is a fire hazard with all these books here, some of them look....ancient" Alexander placed his large laptop on one of the tables in the center of the room as he looked down the isles of bookshelves. His little fingers tracing the shelves, dust collecting as the papers flickered when his flesh grazed their edges. Alexander though to pick a random book up, the boy couldn't make out the language or texts, but in the center was various notes and maps of a city, it almost looked like Russia. Closing the book, Alexander placed it back, taking another book and doing the same thing as the boy scanned the pages, but only found the same unknown texts and maps, but the location was familiar to him. Seemed to be the water aqueducts of Rome, but they looked ancient, as ancient from when they were first created, but that was impossible. But then again, from whats happened the past 24 hours, that seemed to be the only clear option. "That does remind me...." Alexander whispered as he made his way back to the center table inside the library and opened his computer, taking a seat at the surprisingly comfortable chair, he began to type into his work station for information. A window screen popped up suddenly, an online friend from his hacking boards: Achilles: "Hey fox, where have you been? The raid on level 37 is already in progress and we need our healing mage. Thought you were done school with a long time ago." Alexander quickly positioned himself before he typed his response. ShadowFaux: "I got side tracked after I went to the mall, and I'm not at my place this evening so I won't be able to join to tonight :-(. I need a favor for whenever you're finished, I need to know if you can translate some scriptures for me, I'll send you the pictures once they're uploaded onto my computer." Alexander went back and grabbed a couple of books, the two from before and then several others as he began to take pictures with his PSP computer, the loading process was taking forever but they would be finished in a while, and Alexander had plenty of time on his hands. One by one the files went through, about 50 total,Alexander wanted to send more, but he heard a noise outside of the library and froze completely, his heart seemed to stop as he waited to see if anyone was going to enter, but as time passed, no one came through the door. Achilles: "Whoa, I'm not sure where you found this stuff, but it's pretty impressive, like authentic like." ShadowFaux: "I think it is authentic, and I know you have a doctoral in linguistics, so any help would be appreciated. I'll return the favor when you need help" Achilles: "Of course, I'll send you an email when I have everything ready, already I can see continuous mentioning of a "Carrier" as these words translate to, but I'll take an in-depth look shortly" Alexander sighed as he closed his laptop and gathered his things together, placing the books back in their original spots, the child slowly made his way out of the library back into the dimly lit hallway of the mansion. As the boy walked down the long corridor hallway, he passed a window nonchalantly, but halfway passing that particular window, there was a sudden need to duck for cover, without his mind giving him the command, Alexanders body dropped to the ground, tossing his computers to the carpet floor as the boy covered his head with his hands. There was a loud crash that shattered the tall glass window as a small, yet cylinder shaped rock hit the door and bounced as it rolled its way towards Alexander. The boy brushed his bushy hair to free himself of broken glass pieces, cutting his fingers slightly as he did, but another sensation alerted his body as the boy scooted himself to the wall underneath the broken window, fully covered from outside eyes if there were any. Looking down at the cylinder shaped object, the boy tilted his head to the side, there was some noise that could be heard upstairs in the mansion, also some echoing of voices after hearing the large window crashing. Suddenly, the object thrown through the glass made a small clicking noise, the top popped off and rolled down the hallway, smoke shot out of inside and quickly surrounded the area, Alexander held in breath and pinched his nose quickly, closing his eyes tight. Using his free hand, he tried to guide himself away from the grenade that continued to spout smoke into the hallways, Alexander felt on the ground, cutting himself more from the glass. The boy didn't make it far as he could no longer hold his breath, ex-hailing quickly the boy in-hailed greatly, only to choke on the stinging smoke that filled his lungs. The boy coughed violently as each breath seemed to sting his very insides burned and betrayed the child of clean air, all through the mansion, more grenades made itself inside through various openings, shattering windows and making its way into rooms and hallways. Outside the mansion, a small battalion of black cloaked members of the Maldito family continued to throw their various Fla, Tear Gas and Smoke grenades at their enemies. Once they ran out of grenades, the members began to make their way inside, yelling and screaming their own battle cry as they barged through the grand entrance one by one.
