1. As of right now Coheed and Cambria are streaming their new cd on Myspace on their page for free the entire thing. It has a heavier sound like one we heard in IKSOSE3 and when they were known as Shabutie it doesn't have such poppy tones as those heard in 2nd Stage Turbine or Good Apollo 1. No World For Tomorrow sounds amazing you have to check it out.
2. I love Lacuna Coil and Nightwish if you like them you should listen to Amon Amarth, Artosis, and Epica. I myself also like Evanescence though I liked Fallen more than the Open Door didn't like the it. I also love Breaking Benjamin I can't get enough of the songs Breakdown, Follow, Evil Angel, and Unknown Soldier. I also like Blue October though a couple of their songs are mellow they have some good hard rock stuff. Another fav. of mine is Coheed and Cambria they have their entire new album for listen on Myspace on their band page. I love it they are more harder like when they were Shabutie and on the In Keeping Secrets of a Silent Earth cd. They were to poppy for my taste on 2nd Stage turbine and Good Apollo 1. Another band that I like that I recently discovered for myself is Ra named after the Egyptian Sun God the y kick ***. I also cannot stand Nu-Metal, Metalcore, Hardcore, Post-Hardcore I find it like ***** rock whiny and full of angst I don't need that in my music give me some kind of message that doesn't sound like its coming from a adolescent prepubescent kid.
3. My favorites currently are: Behemoth, Dark Funeral, Finntroll, Opeth, and Otep. Love em all I still love the symphonic metal though you know like Nightwish, Epica, and Artosis.
4. Yes but he isn't saying that your not qualified to tell us Chibi he is saying that when you yourself are in the pain would you truly want to feel that knowing that their is no hope no chance of life the only thing awaiting you is pain. Your morality tells you that its wrong but when faced with that pain that situation and you are the one in it are you sure that you would not ask for it to stop. Its one thing to see another person going through it even if its one you love its another when that person crying and begging for the end is you. I believe that we die when its our time but who is to say when our time is I don't leave everything up to a higher power there are people who put everything on their God's shoulders they rarely do anything for themselves they don't realize he isn't going to make all your decisions for you all your choices sometimes they are yours to make, and yours to choice whether you live or die and if you fail or succeed. I think that my own decisions determine how I die and my genetics if you die in a car wreck from drunk driving or from a drunk driver you died yes because it was possibly your time but also because some took their life in their own hands and made a bad decision.
5. yeah there is no right or wrong answer to this question and I think are lord Bob Saget as Lethargy said would probably disagree with assisted suicide. Yet I think its up to that person to decide when they die you didn't have a say on when you were born nor did you have one on if you got that job you wanted, but I will be **** if I can't decide how and when I die when given the choice when there is no other alternative.
6. I'm listening to 2113 by Coheed and Cambria because they are awesome. The lying lies and dirty secrets of miss erica court by coheed and cambria because they are still awesome.
7. Right now I'm playing Wild Arms 4 I just beat it today and waiting for Wild Arms 5 to come out later this year along with Dragonball Z:Tenkachi 3
8. Mmm....Food Seconds by MF Doom one of the hottest hip hop albums I've heard this year go to your store. For hip hop heads I recommend it that and: Redman's new cd Red Gone Wild J-Dilla's cd Ruff Draft Kanye West's new album-Graduation don't buy that weak 50 Cent Curtis and the new Talib Kweli cd EarDrum
9. Yeah I know not alot of good artists out in the genre now and with Oprah and friends attacking hip hop which is quite pointless the problem is rap not hip hop they are both two diffrent genres off music with their own distinct styles. A good hip hop cd you could pick up John is the new Redman album Red Gone Wild and the Method Man's album that came out last year or Lupe Fiasco's Food and Liqour a great hip hop cd feel in love with it after the first listen. The best album I heard last year was Hi-Tek's album HiTechnology Vol. 2 featuring artists like Q-Tip, Talib Kweli, Bilal, and one of modern day hip hops greats the now deceased J-Dilla who has a great postmortem cd out right now.
10.
Oh my... where to begin... First of all, to The Boss: What the hell does techno have to do with hip hop? Am I missing something here? Could you please enlighten me? Underground? If MF Doom is underground, then Ludacris is a pop diva. MF Doom is NOT underground. MC Vapour is underground. Now, about my tastes... I believe my friend worded it best when he said, Hip hop reached its prime between the years 1987 and 1993: Quest- Q-Tip has such a smooth, laid-back voice. De La Eric B. & Rakim and my favorite of all time... The Ultramagnetic MC's: Kool Keith is king of hip hop in all of his incarnations. Jungle Brothers Let us not forget our roots: Grandmaster Flash Busy Bee Melle Mel Kurtis Blow- Block party music perfected Turntablists: Cut Chemist DJ Numark DJ Shadow The Avalanches- Frontier Psychiatrist changed my life Liam Howlett Z-Trip- Listen to The Breakfast Club and try not to smile Random, Personal Favorites and the Obscure: Heiroglyphics- Del the Funky Homosapien is amazing KRS-One Word Of Mouth JME- Mmmm... Grime Serious Lee Fine Stezo Broken Glass- I dare you to find them Hijack mc chris MC Frontalot- I'm serious! That's it for the laundry list for now.
Well to some MF Doom is underground but really MF Grimm is underground he has a style alike to MF and both have worked together until a argument between them broke up there harmonious joining in 2006 leading to several freestyle disses and insults. I myself love his other joinings with artists like Madlib creating Madvillian and his joining with Danger Mouse creating DangerDoom. And what about LL Cool J your not gonna include him along with the other artists back in the day he was amazing though I never really liked Run DMC I didn't really dig their style or flow though I loved Jam Master Jay. I also liked Public Enemy and Wu Tang Clan both had amazing rappers who had prolific lyrics and an in your face style. Also I get tired of people consantly talking about Tupac and Biggie as if they were the greatests things to hip hop ever comeon maybe to gangsta rap sure Tupac had a few uplifting tracks toward women, but comeon he's not the greatest.
11. yeah I love Kanye when I say real I mean the hip hop that focuses on reality talks about the community life I mean not everyone is rich with big rims with cash flowing out the wazzu and being surrounded by women. I myself like Kanye's stronger remix I like it but I don't like his new song Can't Tell Me NOthing its so arrogant and the lyrics are meaningless and cocky, but thats your usual Kanye wat else can you expect from a man that said he lives a life parallel to that of Jesus
12. Anyone playing this game its addictive and wickedly fun I was wondering if fellow OB members were playing so we could meet up. Here is a link to the English site the game recently was translated to English around the end of last year here is a link to the site http://ranonline.e-games.com.my/index_eng.asp In the Game you play as a student of 1 of 3 college campus's you can either be a Archer, Fighter using your fists and gauntlets as weapons, a swordsman weapon implied, or a Qigong where you can either be based on Offensive Magic or defensive magic. The game can be fun but if you play it alone as all MMORPG's it won't take long for you to become bored with the game. It plays like most 3D MMORPG"s and has special skills for each character which you can format by basing them on either STR, DEX, or INT. You choose one of these stats and raise them alone depending on which you pick will determine the skills you learn with each of the 3 having their own unique skills for all 4 class's. Here is the backstory depicted on the website: he Omen began 18 years ago in Asia. This was where the day became night. Total darkness enveloped the land. All was calm and peaceful until the stars started to fall. Never before has the sky so littered with falling stars. The land just watched and waited. 16 years after the eclipse, a new power emerged throughout the land. The government and the people tremble to this entity?s influence and will. It was called, Sacred Financial Group, an organization surrounded by wealth and power yet clouded in a shroud of myth and mystery. What is known about this organization is that four unique institutions were founded and funded by this group. The institution names were as mysterious as their founding organization. One was called Sacred Gate; the second was named Mystic Peak, the third Phoenix and last was named Leonine Campus. The initial outlook of these institutions is like any renowned sports institution in the land. Potential students have to go through stringent assessments and only top athletes are selected. Its only when students start attending the schools, they find that things are very different. The four institutions were built with strange architecture and structures. From an initial glance, one could almost feel that the four institutions were arcane in nature. What is even more mysterious, the institutions do not follow any conventional syllabus. Many strange events and practices made new students very uncomfortable. They were initially confused and bewildered. Strange and unconventional as the syllabus might be, it is, however, very difficult and both taxing on the mind and body. Students will adapt and fall into the school?s routine. Rumors are abound that the students in these institutions are trained in conventional and non conventional combat skill, some techniques even beyond those used by the military. So far, things are calm and peaceful. But somewhere deep inside the four institutions there is an unspeakable force that lies dormant, waiting and biding its time. Uncertainty, Fear, Anxiety are in everyone?s heart? but on the other hand, they feel excited about the destruction, and long to destroy? the evil self that was hidden in their deep souls? As for the four institutions, each student just trains and waits?
13. I was wondering if there were any fans of hip hop on the OB artists like MF Doom, Talib Kweli, Q Tip, A Tribe Called Quest, Mos Def, MF Grimm, or The Roots. I am tired of the mainstream rappers out now these days talking about money, cars, and big rims. Like there is nothing else out there to rap about how do other OB members feel about modern rap and are there those that as I do love the underground rappers though they don't get as much playtime on radio's and TV stations. So leave me your thoughts and maybe you could introduce me to artists that you know about that I don't. I merged the threads. Inuyasha7271, please be sure to check the MM&TV thread directory for any thread you might want to post. It may already exist. -Clurr
14. I started watching anime after seeing Outlaw Star and Tenchi Muyo on Toonami's Midnight run nothing like Tenchi and Outlaw Star uncensored.
15. Naruto Shippuuden is great although I would love to see more Lee I want more Lee. I haven't gotten to watching the anime though just been reading the manga cause its farther ahead I wanna watch the anime when they have enough episodes cause I can breeze right through an anime on youtube.
16. I can see it now random small skinny asian man screaming GODZILLAAA!!!! I wouldn't go see it nor would I see a Voltron movie enough with giant fighting robots I mean bays already making a new transformers comeon. I wanna see an Astro Boy movie be astro boy darn you.
17. In Keeping Secrets of a Silent Earth 3 by Coheed and Cambria that song still rocks Imaginary by Evanescene makes me happy Shes like Heroin by System of a Down cause anything by System of a Down is amazing.
18.
Nope. I imagine that was totally cool with them. Just like it's totally cool for every metalcore band and it's brother to play the same drum patterns over and over again. :whoops: Amy Lee should join an epic, symphonic, blackened death metal band, though. And split the vocal duties with me. That'd be rad. -Justin
I agree Epica is amazing I believe your talking about Epica the symphonic band with the female lead there is no band called Epic other than a progressive rock band who I know your not talking about. Epica is not Black Metal also Epic is Goth Metal and Progressive Rock like Elis. Elis is much better than Epica and Evanescenc. Elis is also Goth Metal like Epica.
19. I found the movie decent it was great not enough dialog with the robots and I wish there had been more robot fights than human robot. It had alot of great action a few funny moments and alot of childish humor. I think that some of you are taking this too seriously acting like someone killed your grandma I mean its a movie based off a cartoon about talking robots who cares if its not how you want it to be or how you remembered it. They still made their money and you know your gonna see the sequel so really just suck it up.
20. Quick question can you catch Pikachu in this game and if so where at exactly.
21. Coolest song of the week for me has to be WONDER BOY- by Tenacious D so amazing.
22. I'm angry I can't afford a DS as of yet and pokemon is out and my luck when I get a DS nintendo will have a cooler new handheld out with a brand new pokemon game on if only I had money why was i cursed with poorness why :animecry: Inuyasha7271, you've been here for quite some time, and you should know by now Otakuboards emphasizes on posting quality. This also includes correct grammar and proper usage of puncuations. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me or any other moderator of this category. (or something...)
23.
Okay I have a new song that makes me want to pull over to the side of the road and smash my car stereo with my fully loaded Coach bag. Girlfriend... or I don't like your girlfriend... or lame attempt at someone wanting to make a song about someone's girlfriend by Avril Lavigne Now don't laugh- I thought You're not alone was pretty good and since I listen to everything but hard core metal and rap (I like my hearing and I don't want it to go away) But this song reminds me of high school cheerleaders... and it sucks. Another selection- Anything Gwen Stefani has done during her solo career. I don't care that she sampled stuff from Fiddler on the Roof (Listen to If I were a Rich Girl- doesn't it sound like- If I were a Rich Man?) or that she's got an insanely over priced clothing line which is why she now dresses like she got really drunk before going into her closet (LAMB) I just wish she'd go back to No Doubt where she actually sounded good.
Yes the Ska sound of No Doubt sounds much better than her terrible craptastic pop career. I hate alot of her songs I just wish she would go back to what made her famous.
24. I love the show I already finished it last year though on Youtube I hate watching it on Adult Swim cause once it hits there then all the wannabe fanboys show up and talk about it all the time like Naruto they ruined that for me and One Piece which they and the American theme song ruined for me Sanji cooking and chompers doctoring my a##. But the One piece theme song wannabe rap rant can wait. My favorite character in the show though has to be Brother Moon Doggie as Renton calls him he's a funny guy especially on the Ep when they have that little prank on Renton around the first episodes of the show.
25.
Okay, Coheed and Cambria is my new favorite band, and if you'd like to know why, do me a favor. See my sig? There are 2 links it in. Watch the first, then the second. That song, The Final Cut, when played live, is easily one of the greatest songs ever. Also, I've been listening to some songs from Shabutie (what Coheed was before Coheed) and they've got some really freaking scary stuff. These are some of the most disturbing songs I've ever heard, no kidding. My favorite one is Godfather's Lollipop, though Camouflage is great as well. These songs will melt your freaking skull/ EDIT: Claudio's side project, the Prize fighter Inferno roxxors too. The Margretteville Town Dance is pwn
Yes Claudio is god I myself have quotes from my favorite songs off of Good Apollo I'm a Burning Star Part 1: Fear Through the Eyes of a Madman. I love them and I'm waiting for the new cd to see how the new bandmates do. I also like some of the songs from Claudio's side project. Did you know that every Coheed and Cambria song tells a story that is being put into comic form by Claudio it will soon be out the comic that is made by Evil Ink Comics the name of the Comic I forget.
