Hello and welcome to the newest community event, Otaku Jeopardy! The premise of the game is rather simple, answering trivia questions on topics that will vary from week to week. Each week there will be three contestants that will be competeing for the title of Otaku Jeopardy champion. The Champion will continue onto next week, where they will defend their title against two new contestants. So now onto the questions So, Korey, how do I enter? Post your name up on the Auditions Thread. The contestants for the show will be notifyed by PM on Monday when Auditions close. When does the game start? The game will officially start Tuesday. The questions will be revealed 2 at a time for 5 days. The game will end on Saturday. What are the rules? Simply, to answer the questions. The first person to post with the answers to the questions will get one point per correct answer. The winner is the person with the most points. You are allowed to look up the answer to any question you may not know, however this may affect the speed of your response. In the case of a tie in points, a tiebreaker question will be asked. The first person to answer the tiebreaker will win the game. What do we win? The champion will get a nifty custom title to adorn their profile until next week's game. If the champion wins the next game, they get to keep their custom title until a new champion is crowned. Anything else? Nope, that about covers it. Be on the lookout for a PM! Good luck and have fun!:catgirl:

Well, I would have thought that difficulty settings on games would have been enough to cater to gamers of all skill types. But, to be honest, people are going to play games as they wish. I like playing specific types of games. But I like playing against other humans in them. I like failure in video games. It inspires me to be better. Funny anecdote warning: I have a Ninja Turtles game for the Original Game Boy. I had never beat the game in my life, because I thought it was the hardest thing on the planet. For some reason, I could never get past a certain point and if I did, it was a fluke and I wouldn't ever get there again. I came back to the game after years and years of not playing it and I beat it in one attempt, only dying twice. So it's funny how a game can seem difficult to you at first and then you come back to it and you wonder how in the world you thought this game was hard.
I think it is completely wrong for someone to say that it is unfitting for a man to cry. For one it shows you have emotions, and two, in a different way, it shows dedication/ambition. I'll say that, because it's belief, but I will also say no, a Video Game has never mad me cry. I haven't fully played a game through since I was young, and unable to thoroughly follow the story though. If I was ever about to cry I would do my best to hide it, because that is contagious, and I wouldn't be caught dead crying. I'm not one for the tough guy attitude, but I don't see crying helping in any way if there is a problem. Obviously you can't jump in a game and do something about it though.
This post is rather befuddling. On one hand you are critquing a man's emotions, or lack thereof. Yet you contradict yourself by not showing emotion during things that may tug at your heartstrings. It's not really that men don't show emotion because they are being tough. For many, it's having the role of the stable pillar archetype being placed upon them. While not as prevalent today, the typical gender stereotype shows a man showing emotion in different ways than a woman would. But, I'm a guy who is really intimate about my emotions and while it may seem like men are cold, harsh meanie butts, we still are capable of hurting. We just tend to express it in a different way.

While I probably won't be playing the Sims 3, I've seen a little bit of footage and it brings all of the same "micro-managing" goodness back to the PC. Gameplay wise, it's more of the same from what I've seen. You can just do a few more things with your Sim. While I'm sure that fans of the series are really glad that there is finally a true sequel instead of the expansion packs they've been getting for the past few years, this just isn't my type of game. I like managing myself in real life. :p

What's really interesting is that domestic car parts themselves are assembled in other countries and then shipped to the factories in the US. I've read enough of those window dealies at dealerships to know my Ford was built "Ford tough" but the tough parts are made in Mexico. But the reason why GM (and the auto industry) isn't doing so hot is due to poor buisness practices. Even before the economic downturn, the auto industry was pushing more "luxury" type vehicles than practical cars that were beneficial to the economy. Now, GM struggled the most because of how many different brands they own. Thier car models were pricy and in some cases almost identical. The Hummer H2, Yukon Denali, and Cadillac Escalade were all built on the same chassis. Before GM received their bailout, they were questioned about this. To which the government got a lollipop answer. Doesn't help when the execs are corrupt, either.

Hi there Art Studio staff! For my newest project, Otaku Jeopardy, I'd like to make a simple avatar request. If you could make an avatar of the gameshow's host, Alex Trebek with just his head showing. For the Banner, I'd like it if someone could get the Jeopardy Logo and put "Otaku" on there somewhere. Or, if you could do make an original marquee for it, that'd be pretty cool too. I'm counting on you guys! ~Korey

While it certainly doesn't surprise me about hate groups on the rise, I'm kind of tired of hearing the sentiment that the white man is the cause of all the Minorities problems. I remember our city being in an uproar about the possibility of a border fence and people were walking out of their jobs/ school in protest of possible stricter enforcement for illegal immigrants. To me, when people really are affecting the economy or healthcare my exploiting holes in the American system and the government decides to crack down on those who are exploiting the system in order to safeguard its people, the blaming figure really goes on the former party. We (as in, the government) didn't make you poor, we didn't tell you to join a gang, we didn't tell you to live in a poor neighborhood, we didn't tell you to not go to school. With the amount of resources being put into inner city neighborhoods in order to increase their opportunities for health care, education and getting into the work force, you would think people would take advantage of THOSE free services instead of exploiting Social Security, Medicare/aid, and Welfare.

Recently I've been delving back into my library of Game Boy: Advance titles and came across some gems. I've been playing Castlevania: Circle of the Moon, Golden Sun, and Final Fantasy Tactics: Advance. Three RPGs, three very distinctly different fighting systems. Castlevania is an action RPG and while it's not the best one that came out for the GBA, it's still a really good game and made up for past muck ups in the series (Castlevania 64 *shudders*). Golden Sun was a sleeper title for me. I had never heard of the game before and it wasn't an established series like Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy, so when I got the game as a recommendation from my friend, I was a bit skeptical. I'm so glad I bought the game, because it is truly a masterpiece. The game is a traditional RPG with turn-based attacking, but the Psyenergy system that they used on the world map to solve problems was ingenious. I didn't care too much for the second installment, but I'm so looking forward to another installment in this series. FFTA, is just like the PS1 installment in terms of playstyle with Turn Based attacking on a field that you can move your party aroudn in, but the story is entirely different. The game looks tedious, but it's anything but. The missions (all 300 of them) are relatively fun and the story is ok, although very much the anti-thesis of the PS1 version (which I affectionally dubbed: MUCH ADO ABOUT SHANKING). The DS sequel is pretty cool too.
