If you smelllllllllll lelelelelelelel..... ¬_¬ Anyways, after a long stay over at a friend's house in Arizona, I got my first in depth look and chance to play Street Fighter IV. The game is gonna be the next wave of SF goodness and while a lot of SF fans are turned off by it (the Third Strike people), the game is just fun. I would recommend you giving it a try when it comes out for consoles in February, because not all of us are that fortunate to have an arcade cabinet in their hometown. I just got back into playing Tales of the Abyss (:o) since people didn't even know I played it and it's been fun getting back into the game. I didn't play the other games in the series yet (lazy), but I really love this entry in the series and I can't help but think of Sangome when I play....lol. Oh and Magus
As far as I remember the only part in MGS1 that has the no weapons is when you're in the cell and the first part of the game when you're on the dock (in the PS1 version anyways)

Things I want for Christmas, but probably won't get...

Street Fighter 4 (which doesn't come out until February)
More Beanie Caps ( I have tons, but a few more wouldn't hurt)
Mirror's Edge for PS3
A new DDR pad (mine has a few lame sensors)
The Shield Box Sets for Seasons 1-5
A kitty ( an orange one preferrably)
We are planning to go outta town, so I should probably get some gifts from relatives. Clothes, mostly, but I always need new clothes. My grandparents are actually quite cool when it comes to picking clothes for me, I don't get some lame sweater knitted outta the same stuff they make those doilies out of.
Which means that as long as the proposition had been voted down, you would have said nothing about voting whatsoever.
Actually he brings up a good point here. Not personally against you, Mr. Blonde, but for the whole charade that's going on right now. None of this would have been an issue had the prop been voted down.
Those are all great issues that should be addressed by the new administration, but that mindset is the exact reason gay rights have been ignored in this country. Everyone has their own issues and things that affect them in their own lives will most likely be the issues that concern them the most, I understand this. Personally all of the things you listed would have a greater positive impact on my life than the legalization of gay marriage (especially tuition rates, yikes). That is the mindset of most people, but it should not be the mindset of our political leaders (though it most likely is at the moment). This vote came at a bad time for homosexual Americans. With the rest of the countries woes, this issue will most likely be set aside for the foreseeable future.
Well, I wouldn't say that the issue has been ignored or put on the back burner, but it certainly hasn't been at the forefront of the nation's political agenda either. With the War on Terror, the Bailouts, the ever present Ecological problems, Gas prices (which are down to under $2 now in west Texas, huzzah!) and the like, Gay rights has had to wait its turn in line. If we could get the economy straight, get the war issue settled, and fix some of the problems that were caused by the current administration, then perhaps we can focus on these domestic issues and give the homosexual people the rights they deserve as Americans.

Maybe I like to read Western styled stories, after most Eastern styled stories almost always seem to rely on cliches.
That's a half-truth. Western styled stories also have cliches in them as well. Maybe you prefer Western cliches over Eastern ones?
If you are going sci-fi, no freaking swords! Chainsaw-blades are an exception.
THIS....IS....GEARS OF WARRRRRR!!!! *shot* I'm guessing that it also turned you off in Xenosaga when Ziggy could use his hands and feet to fight? Granted most of the weapons were futuristic-ish (KOS-MOS had guns, but she also had swords and Hammers and what not), but I have no qualms about using swords in futuristic settings. Hell, Jedi use them, so why not JRPG characters?:p I'm going to buy this game regardless (YES GOME, I AM), because I liked Star Ocean since the beginning games and I am begging for more after SO3. Hopefully we won't be waiting forever with this game, like the previous entry in the series. They weren't kidding when they said "Till the End of Time"
We shouldn't have to pick and choice which issues we want addressed. President Obama will be appointing 7,000 new people under his direct supervision. And then also you have the senate, the house, the governors, mayors. There are more then enough government aids to address all of this country's ills. Maybe if this issue affected you directly you would feel different concerning the matter.
Well the thing is, Congress sets the issues it wants to address for the nation and in what order. Same goes for any legislative body. We can protest all we want, but the people that the citizens elected get to set the political agenda and address the nation's needs as they see fit. I feel that our nation's economy is more important than gay rights at this point in time. As far as the issue affecting me directly, it still wouldn't change my mindset on what needs to be done. We can't have the necessary things if we don't have jobs. Don't assume just because I'm heterosexual that I'm ignorant to this issue. Texas had a law or two that got passed in regards to homosexual couples, but the thing is....I feel that the economy, ending the war, lowering tuition rates, making colleges more affordable...etc is more important to me than gay rights. My opinion, my views.
There are no tizzies, Rach. We're A-OK over here. I agree that ranting on a message board is no way to get things done. I didn't mean to imply that people didn't care, and I realize that people may not feel as passionate about the political process as I do, and may not get involved in such matters as I do, so in that respect I can understand what may be construed as a lack of caring may just be a lack of interest in political matters. However people on here have said they agree with the vote, maybe not the result, but the vote. So I'm not pulling this out of thin air.
Well, the way I see it is like this: People are going to think the way they do. Just because I'd rather sit and watch my brother's wrestling meet in a gym doesn't mean I'm not involved in the political process or don't get involved in such matters. It's not a lack of interest, but a preference in priority. Now agree with the vote? Sure, I'm glad that people even GOT to vote for something that mattered to them. Certainly different from having the state legislature just pass the law n'est-ce pas? Now, do I feel the people made an error in judgement? Yeah. But what's done is done and we now have to go through the right steps to getting the laws repealed or even prohibited from being passed.
The only acceptable action is equal rights now.
With the current problems in our nation, I'm sure that's a problem that's worth addressing, but not on the top of my political agenda. Equal rights is all well and good, but when our nation is struck with poverty and the masses are losing jobs left and right, I'm sure we'd all be happy we were equal. [/sarcasm]
The sooner we start getting appalled at Prop 8 the sooner we can start to make a difference.
I'm sure lots of people are appalled at it already. However, we can't just sit as a nation and say we disagree with the law, but also, we have to go about it in the ways that the system puts out for us. People have been protesting this before the election, during the election and after it....so there are some things being done. The point I'm trying to make here is that we can protest, we can demand things to be done, we can post on message boards, sign petitions....etc but unless it goes through the system that was set out over two centuries ago, nothing will be done. It took the African American people over 100 years to get their civil rights granted to them. Women fought for suffrage rights for over 80 years before they were allowed to vote. This isn't something that is just gonna happen, regardless of how many times homosexual people have parades. The battles need to be won in Congress, in the Courts....not on the picket lines.

Drinks for people who hate the taste of alcohol.
There IS Grape flavored vodka, but the side effect is that you eventually feel like you're drinking Dimeatap. And not the good kind.
lolwut? Where are you buying your Dimeatap, because I can only find the bad kind. I disagree on the whole fruity drinks thing. It only makes you less manly if you're also putting your hands on your hips and ordering drinks in a valley girl voice. But I digress. -
Forget the beanie, your bedspread is kick-***!:p And of course I'm tired. I'm always tired.:animesigh
Not mine, my brother's. I get top bunk honors. My bedspread is " I show any kind of stain" white. -
I actually had a hard time finding images that were crisp.
Really? All I did was google mine and go for images that were larger (wallpaper size) and used those. In my opinion, every image is useable, even as elements in the img. Just with imaging like that, you have to save it in a different format for large images like that, otherwise they come out fuzzy and grainy....as JPEGs aren't too good for that kind of imaging... but I digress.
-
Well, the transparency is a cool idea, but I would have taken the image on one side or the other and made it sharper than the rest of the image. Having it all in the transparency makes it fuzzy. Also, your cropped image of the eyes just resolves kinda fuzzy for me. What format did you save the images in?
-
Kataki, your images are a tad bit fuzzy, what settings are you using for your images? I normally use 300 DPI and don't get images that are under 700 pixels in height and width. Here's something I cooked up....hope that works. *Puts on Faux British Accent" Hello and welcome to Otakupiee THEATAH. I'm your host Sir Korey-am-I.
* OB news/housekeeping items * Listener mail or member-submitted content (music, RPG advertisements, etc.) * Member interview I. * Otakupedia bit / History of... * Member interview II. * Thread of the week/month/etc. * Preview of next show. * Member recommendation / Song of the week?
You do realize that interviews take a while right? I seriously doubt you can do all of that within a 30-45 minute time period, even if you rush and it's kind of a waste of time for those involved to have like a 5-8 minute interview. Also, some people tend to rant on subjects and it's hardly fair to condense an interview and risk getting anything less than quality interview. Here's my scandal. We focus on one thing per week, but we do have the weekly segments (listener mail, rpg ads is a good idea) and thread of the week, but we do have maybe ONE interview so that way you can allow time for ranting/ quality interviews to take place. That way we can get some quality instead of trying to focus on how much we can fit in.

As of late I've been playing lots of Shadow the Hedgehog, just to make my brother mad because he can't figure out the game's stupid objectives (how hard is it to find bombs?). The game is terrible and would have been sorta neat like 10 years ago when the Dreamcast was out, but I needed a diversion and this was it. The gameplay is easy and I still wonder why Shadow needs guns (hardly use the darned things myself...) but it accomplishes what I need it to. I picked up the newest Final Fantasy Tactics Advance game and I'm totally engrossed by it. Lot of the same, but it's still wickedly addicting and I would recommend it for those who have beat/zonked out on Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions for the PSP.

Here's my break down of the new faces C.Viper: Interesting playstyle, chargeable moves, excellent Ultra, looks flashy. However, her pokes are mega slow and you will get beat out by most other moves. Probably a character best suited for experts. Abel: Cool character with a lot of mindgames and mixup oppourtunities. Command grabs look cool and are easy to combo into. Crouching Fierce is your BNB for your Ultra, practically guaranteed big damage. Rekka is too good and sets up lots of 50/50 mixups. But Abel is easy to punish if he's guessed right. A good character, but not top tier by any means. Rufus: Top tier, and for good reason. Rufus may be fat, but he has some great options. His dive kicks are practically unstoppable and completely safe. His EX messiah kick will drive your opponents insane, because of its uses. Can combo easily into Ultra and is just a great character overall. ElFuerte: Weird but fun character. His Body Splash can create a lot of interesting oppourtunities, and he has an infinite combo (which is probably fixed by now, but who knows?) He's got a nifty looking Ultra, and is probably going to be Mid-tier or Mid-Low.
