1. Why do I get the impression the "unrelated segments" will end up like this....
 2. Are you interested in becoming one of the hosts? For sure. I listen to some podcasts regularly and I'm very friendly to talk to, so I won't have any problems on the hosting end getting along with someone. I also have Pamela Skype Recorder, so we can use that program to record the calls and get things moving along. What format should the show take? That's a toughie, because sometimes the site traffic can be rather slow and sometimes we would have little to talk about, so maybe if we could get different members to make appearances on Skype, we could do interviews with the members and set up a casual conversation talking about the site, their involvement, some memories, and maybe delve into a little history of the site that not many people know.
 3. Yeah, Gief is finally top Tier in a game for once! However Gief does lack one thing that all other characters have and that's the ability to break through Focus Attacks. While Gief can cause massive amounts of damage and use his focus attack to absorb fireballs (and dash right after them), he's still very susceptible to being zoned out by characters like Sagat, Ryu, Ken, or any character with a projectile (which is like half the cast). They have a machine up in Alberquerque that's acutally a non-beta machine and the gameplay balancing that needed to be fixed has been ironed out and we're finally playing and learning a brand new Street Fighter. Too bad it's been about 10 years since the last true SF game came out (3rd strike was out in 1999 I believe)
 4.
Two women can live together, and have a child through artificial insementaion. Two men can adopt a child and raise a family together. This is allowed by law
In some states yes, but not all 50 states allow civil union-ed couples adopt children. In fact, some states have laws that say the couple must be legally married in order to adopt children. Hate to be nitpicky, but I felt that was worth mentioning. Darren, while your stance may have been questioned and assumptions have made on your part, please do your best to refrain from that little invective you posted, or keep it to PMs. We can't have our members getting the wrong impression. In Allamorph's defense, I don't think he was saying you unfamiliar with the scripture, but you are welcome to interpret things as you wish. But as you said, arguing the point is counter productive to the debate and you posting your retort does not make your stance any more or less valid as Allamorph's.
 5.
True to a point. While it hasn't been as violent there has been deaths. Therefore I don't think the urgency of passing this law is any less because not as many people have been killed or injured. It's the affirmation of someone's rights that is of importance. We can't judge this issue on the deaths that have resulted from it.
Well it's not an every day thing where these kinds of cases are reaching Segment A on the news either, so it's definitely not something that will be passed anytime soon. The civil rights movement had many deaths, many assassinations, and many crueler injustices happening at a much faster rate, thus the strong call for people to take action during that time period. It only took them about 100 years to see that legislation be passed, but I feel it's much stronger an issue. Body count does speak towards the severity of an issue, wouldn't you agree?
That is why the U.S supreme court has nine judges. And the vetting process is quite thorough, which is based upon neutrality in trying a wide array of court cases.
Yes, but the vetting process is also very cruel and the person can actually farse their way through the whole process and still be put on the bench. When it comes time to make their decision, the Judges also have their own political agenda. No decision was made in the Supreme Court with any sort of bias and the decision of 9 people can't possibly speak for the collective of the nation.
Allow me to rephrase that: The masses deciding the equal rights of others in the positive has historically failed. These type of issues have ultimately been decided in the affirmative by the U.S Supreme Court usually with accompanying legislature passed by the house or senate.
Let me ask again.... Can you provide a specific, recent example? I believe that the will of the masses is what decides someone's fate and to say it is always been a negative thing is rather Locke-ish. The Masses have decided many important things throughout history and not all of them have been negative, I wouldn't even think the majority of them have been bad. But if you can prove me wrong, please do
 6.
Allamorph, what I believe you have mistaken for our ignorance is simply our frustration at a system that has failed many times before. I'm well aware of my American history, my friend. If anything the American government should (not will, but should) take up this cause because letting it bounce around in lower level state courts for years on end just prolongs the issue, as we've seen with various other civil rights laws that have been eventually passed.
See, the difference here is that the last few issues that got past that have to deal with civil rights happened to be a lot more violent than gay rights. Am I saying that there isn't violence in association with homosexuality and gay rights. However, there is a large difference between what is happening with Gay Rights as compared to the civil rights movement in the 50s and 60s. You don't see homosexual people being blasted by fire hoses and being mauled by police dogs.
I agree that it is a civil rights case. But since all legislation is initially based on the will of the people, excluding them from the process and going straight to the top, regardless of the case, could be seen as an abuse of the system
I'm going to take a stab at what Allamorph is referring to here and say that if you take it straight to the decision makers first without going through the people, you present a horrible abuse of the system. The judge who hears on this case may be anti-gay rights and if he decides to pass the law to outlaw it, then wouldn't you consider that a tad bit unfair? I believe in the hands of people, that what the people decide as a collective is a better representation of public policy than that of a single group or single person. It's a flaw of our representative democracy, for sure.
We've seen what happens when the masses are given the opportunity to decide their fellow citizen's fate. It fails.
Can you provide a specific, recent example? I believe that the will of the masses is what decides someone's fate and to say it is always been a negative thing is rather Locke-ish. The Masses have decided many important things throughout history and not all of them have been negative, I wouldn't even think the majority of them have been bad. But if you can prove me wrong, please do.
 7. I've been dealt worse hands....
 8.
I'd listen to this more than anything and do your best to work through it yourself. It's a little hard for any of us to give you relevant advice when we don't really know you or him, or the full circumstances of what's going on. And even then, we're still not qualified to counsel someone.
Isn't Indi qualified?:catgirl: In all seriousness, Rach's right...you're better off seeking advice from people that had an insight on your own relationship where you are, because they actually know the parties involved, their emotional states, how things were working out. I would suggest continuing talking to your mother. Mom's are good for that kind of thing.
 9. Shoulda told me that before I finished it X_X...but sorry, the file's on another computer.

 14. I would do this if I knew just who the heck anime characters you used....besides Yoruichi. I also need colors, dimensions. Details, DETAILS. With your Avi, I dunno what "girl" you want me to use.... Also...it's psychopathic....
 15.
Korey, I dont know if you have a girlfriend. but lets say that you do. is shes sick, would you call her to check up on her? if you think that you had hurt her feelings, would you make sure that you didnt? would you make her feel wanted?
I do have a girlfriend, and I can't speak on my behalf, because I do all the things you mentioned. I am very concerned for my girlfriend's safety and well-being. I always make sure that people are wanted, but that's just how I am. I can't tell you how your BF feels, because you are with him and not me. I would need on hand experience to tell you, but like I said...you're too young for marriage at this point. Go out, explore the world. Live yourself and no one else. That way you can be happy with yourself. I used to live for someone else and it tore me apart after we went our seperate ways. But now I live for me and only me and I'm happier than I've ever been.
 16. Ok few questions... 1) How old are you? I'm 19 and in a relationship and I'm not sure about getting married and having kids right at the moment. I know it may be something that you may think is cool and that you want for yourself, but you have your whole life ahead of you. 2) Did you ever consider your BF's opinions when talking to him about it? As a guy, I have feelings and capable of reasoning about things, and for guys it's not so easy for us to explain emotions and what we are thinking, because we have been programmed to keep things inside of ourselves. So it's easy to say " He has no emotions" because you're not a guy. You can't force him to be emotional. It doesn't work well that way. With guys, you have to give them time to tell you things on their own when they're comfortable. So here's my diagnosis.... If it's meant to be, it's meant to be. If he's truly the man of your dreams, you'll stick by him. If not, then it's time to give him the ol' heave-ho. Don't waste your time and his by being unsure of yourself.
 17. I'm going to snag this game when it comes out on the PC, just so I can use my joystick for it. 22. Hmm it'd be easier to get started if I knew color schemes/ dimensions/ text you wanted on there. Getting a picture of the reaper is easy enough, but if I give you a pink Banner and Grim Reaper....I don't think you would be pleased....
 23.
I never said Raiha "hates Barack Obama". And as far as evidence to "state my opinion": I have not been the one making outlandish claims about another person. I have simply tried to set the record straight regarding the truth about an individual. I have made no claims that require evidence to back them up. I do have a problem with someone's opinions when they are not based on anything relative. I have no problem with someone sharing a different opinion than me, but it should be an informed opinion. Haven't we had enough of people spreading the hate? I'm not referring to Raiha neccesarily, but people in general. I do not see how this is trolling. I have not brought up any slanderous material about anyone else. My enitire stance from the beginning has been to defend someone who is having slander thrown against them.
Let's break this down so you can see my point. I'll use your posts as reference.
Your "opinions" might be taken more seriously if they were based upon factual knowledge and not narrow minded conservative scare tactics.
This is in direct reference to Raiha, not a collective. This is rude, offensive and just an attempt to tell someone their opinions don't matter because they don't agree with yours or suit your tastes. Your mental colleague, Crimson Spider, was certainly guilty of this point as well.
Everyone is entitled to think what they will. I just think it might be better if you HAD actual opinions [/B']and didn't just recite the right's talking points concerning "socialist liberals".
Breakdown: Had actual opinions? Lol? Last time I checked, any opinion is an actual one. A fictional opinion only appears in..welll..fiction, last time I checked.
I do have a problem with someone's opinions when they are not based on anything relative.
Breakdown: Again...lol? She was defending herself from something you initially said. I find that relative. She expressed her views and defended them when she shouldn't really have to. She based her opinions on something relative to the topic. She said she doesn't trust the government saying they'd come in and help her. End of story. To provide more proof...
I do not CARE if Barack was once a Muslim. But if he was and he isn't telling the truth about it then I do care. That's merely a case of honesty, nothing else. And yes. I don't believe in hope. I don't believe in the government "helping" anyone. I don't believe that the government can really "help" anyone either. "I'm from the government and I'm here to help you" is a phrase I really do not like hearing, regardless of who is in office.
Now I'm gonna tell anyone involved in this petty affair to put a lid on it, because it seems pointless to argue on something neither side is gonna budge on. If you don't like it Kataki, then that's too bad. She has her opinions and you're not the judge on whether her opinions are valid or not. So quit it. Now everyone just please shut up, kthx.
 24. Either way Katakidoushi, Raiha is entitled to have her opinion and I believe calling other people's opinions less worthy whether they base it on fact or not is rather childish. It seems that anyone with the title of conservative is frowned upon these days when I feel that liberals are also under the hot seat for what's going on. Just because the war in Iraq is still continuing on right now and the economy is in dire straits does not mean we can point fingers in either direction. While the Republicans do fillibuster any sort of legislation that might work against their views of how the Iraq war should be handled, the Dems are just as much to blame for doing the same thing. Need I remind you that it's one country, with one government and the hating on conservatives needs to stop. The same goes for liberals. We're one government and hating on the left wing or the right isn't gonna solve our countries problems. So both of you need to simmer down in that respect.
Seperate Quote for Illustration purposes: This may come as a terrible shock to you, but I'm not here to make anyone BELIEVE anything I say. I'm stating my personal opinions. And if some of my opinions aren't quite in line with yours, well then clearly I must belong to the vast right wing conspiracy.
This is where I take issue with bringing up that Raiha hates Barack Obama or the fact he's Muslim. I don't see any sort of hate against Obama or convservative scare tactics. I want to see what thin air you're pulling this from. Seems like a stretch to me.
Your "opinions" might be taken more seriously if they were based upon factual knowledge and not narrow minded conservative scare tactics. Everyone is entitled to think what they will. I just think it might be better if you HAD actual opinions and didn't just recite the right's talking points concerning "socialist liberals". Crimson Spider and I had a very extensive debate regarding both candidates health care policies in the "Debates for '08" thread. That is a viable subject in which to dislike a candidate, not accusations of a candidate's religion or childish name calling: "socialist". Your anger is exceeding your common sense.
This is trolling. Stop it. Breakdown: Your opinions aren't any more valid when you take the time to slander someone else's opinion and do not yourself provide any evidence to make your opinion seem more worth it. So if you're gonna call someone on not providing evidence to back up their opinions, then don't go and state your opinion to refute their personal beliefs and call their views childish or scare tactics. Basically, treat people the way you want to be treated.
 25. A new picture for the masses....taken post-shower :D
