For those who like their musical tastes a little varied out of the rock genre, I can recommend anything by Nujabes very highly. Very funky hip hop beats, but it isn't plagued by a lot of lyrical content. It's very relaxing to listen to actually. I like it as a nice diversion from the screaming metal I often listen to. Fans of 90s alternative rock would enjoy anything by Weezer. I've been listening to a lot of their music recently and falling in love with it all over again. Some tracks I would recommend are Island in the Sun, Undone (the sweater song), El Scorcho, Buddy Holly, Perfect Situation, Say it Ain't So, and My Name is Jonas. I haven't listened to much of the newest album, but I do love this band.

Nice try, Nerdsy. That was good for a few lol's but let's try to add a little more to the topic next time, thank you. If I could suggest a good game that's not too taxing on the brain, but good for a few playthoughs...it would have to be the Ace Combat series. I own AC4 and AC5 and I find the flight sim games pretty enjoyable. The graphics on the game are fantastic, but the gameplay is what I love most about the games. I would say AC4 is the better entry of the two, but it really doesn't matter which one you pick up, since the games aren't tied in chronologically from game to game.

Hmm, this thread is just vague enough to work! :p In all seriousness though, here is my list. Super Street Fighter II Turbo- This one is the grandaddy of all fighting games and possibly still the best fighter out there for my money. Everyone has either played Street Fighter in an arcade at one point or played friends at their house. The game is still played today in major tournaments across the world, which attests to its staying power in the gaming world. The characters in the game are classics in the video game world and are easily recognizable to most gamers. Easily one of Capcom's best, if not the best, games it's ever put out Dance Dance Revolution- There's something entrancing about stepping on arrows to various forms of techno induced music. I love DDR because of how easy it is to pick up and play, even for beginners. It may take a wee bit of explaining, but once you get into it, the game is highly addictive. I myself have been playing for 5 years and I still find the game very enjoyable to this day. I also love DDR for the community it brings with it. The people are very eccentric, but endearing people who share a love of the game and having over 60 people show up for a dancing game tournament can attest to the game's popularity. I love this game. Tekken (series)- I actually started this series on Tekken 3, but I find the Tekken series very fun and one of the best 3D fighters out there. Tekken seems like an easy game, with it's dial-a-combo format of attacks, but the later entries in the series really showed off how players could exploit the game's engine for huge damage. I'm talking 60-70% combos here. The characters are also very imaginative and everyone has played Tekken at one point of their lives, often picking Eddy Gordo. I love Tekken because it's so easy to pick up, even for beginning and the battles get intense pretty fast. The backgrounds have always been so well done and the character models have gone a long ways since the original game. My personal favorite entry in the series is Tekken Tag Tournament.

It seems to me that any advice that we try to give you is either turned down or kinda laughed at, so I'm just gonna keep it simple for you.... If you can't decide between both girls, you need to just not be dating either of them. You're not far in your relationship with J to have any sort of "history" with her. By "history" I mean relationship "history". I'm sure she'll be a lil hurt by this, but you need to do that before you end up hurting her more by your indecisiveness. That hurts more knowing that you kept up this front and hung out a lot with C while still being with J. C would also be hurt that you spent this much time with her and couldn't be with her, because of your attachment with J. So what I'm saying is this... If you can't pick or be decisive enough to be one's friend or friends with both...you need to look at whether you can be in relationship, beause they are filled with difficult decisions that leave you with an unfair set of options. Life sucks like that, and you're gonna end up hurt if you ride the fence and can't make a decision. Someone always ends up hurt. You need to suck it up and just make a decision for your own happiness. Class Dismissed

I'm gonna go ahead and just ignore the comment about self esteem and self confidence being linked to bad test scores and such. Here's my view on self-esteem. No matter what it is, you hold some worth for yourself, even if the worth is that you're worthless...saying you're worth nothing. I find that people with low self-esteem or no self-esteem generally are not good at social activitites, but often excel at academics because of the solitary nature that it provides. To say that people without confidence in themselves don't do well in school is a farce, it's just how they apply themselves. I've felt horrible about myself one day, walked in to take a test and nailed it. It more relies on how you accept information and how you assimilate it, no so much how you're feeling at the time. As far as encouragement goes, I've always went by the mantra of "You shouldn't go looking for praise when it's the right thing to do in the first place." I've accomplished a lot of things in my academic career, but I don't go looking for praise because of it. I just do what I am supposed to do and that's a reward to my hard work. My parents did congratulate me on my academic prowess and on my extracurricular activies, but I always preferred to remain humble, because overinflating my own ego did me no good. I think that your self esteem should be dictated by you. Thus, self esteem? OMG, what a noble concept.

*Has a 360* :] I didn't really care too much for the Character Design part of SCIII for the sheer fact that game was really imbalanced in competetive play and my favorite character (Kilik) got severly snubbed. I had to play Seung Mina, Xiang Hua or another high tier character just to be in the loop. That game made it super hard to win with anyone that wasn't high tier. I'm hoping that SCIV doesn't have too many balance issues, but I'm still looking forward to this game because I love fighters. I should pick this up and start plugging away on my stick so I can enter some tournaments in the future. I also heard the environments are destructible this time around, sounds like we're gonna be figuring out some high damage DOA styled combos that involve these surroundings.

Ah the anxst of teenage lives... Well, I'm sure it comes as a shock to you, but your friend is still your friend regardless of how they may have "changed". I don't know if you mean in the physical sense (different clothing style, hair, etc.) or the emotional sense. But a few years away in a different location defiinitely has that effect on people. I have a good buddy of mine who literally grew up with me. We've been friends since the sixth grade and we even played on the same basketball team in the eighth grade. In ninth grade, we ended up going to differet schools because he moved to a different part of town, but in the tenth grade he transferred to my school and I could tell he had changed a lot. But I didn't think anything of it, because I knew underneath he was still the same kid I used to spend almost all of my summer with playing video games and playing basketball. Just the other day, he stopped by the store where I worked and we chatted it up and it reminded me of those days where we went up and down the neighborhood talking smack and laughing together. No matter how much you and your friends change, the bond you guys have will still be the same. /nostalgia, lecture

Seeing as I turtled by way to Victory in Soul Calibur II and III , the addition of Guard Break really takes the mind games out of it, but I'm willing to adapt. I love the guard impact feature that they have in SC, because it reminds me of the reversal attacks in Virtua Fighter. It encourages your opponents to be original in their attack patterns and makes the mindgames g ofurher. SC is a really deep fighter, despite it's simple button layout. The addition of Star Wars characters was neat, I loved how they had cameos in SCII. I hated fighting Link because of his unblockable arrows and I wasn't that apt at the game at first to eight way run, lol. But I got my Rapahel pretty good until SC3 came out and changed everything. I'm anticipating this game to be a huge hit, good fighters have been scare as of late. And I mean non party Fighters.

Silpheed, let's try adding a little more to the discussion next time please, maybe elaborating on why you think that the lack of otherwordly creatures is indeed "not cool". Thanks. I think Far Cry was just fine without the fantasy element to it. The enemies still had superior AI compared to most FPS games and I think that FC2 won't disappoint at all.
And Korey, I'm with Desbreko and everyone else on this one. It's a Final Fantasy game, for crying out loud. It's play value will not be decreased by less pretty textures, and certainly not by the different capacities of two different formats. Hell, FF7 looks like crap by todays standards, but does that make it less fun? Whatever they end up doing, it's still Final Fantasy. They won't cut corners.
Did I say this game was gonna be horrid? Not by any stretch of the imagination. I said the capacity of the Blu-Ray and focusing on ONE platform would have been the best option in my opinion. I'm in no way condemning this game. I'm sure it's gonna blow everyone away. Me? I'm still stuck trying to beat FFX without falling asleep.
You're obviously forgetting Final Fantasy XI, which was released for PC, PS2 and Xbox 360. And if we go to ports and remakes, then you'll realize that the first two Final Fantasies along with Final Fantasy IV have been available for half a dozen of systems. Various other Final Fantasies have been released for two different systems as well, like VII and VIII for both PlayStation and PC. As for other titles, the upcoming The Last Remnant will be available for both PS3 and Xbox 360. So this is hardly the first time, really. ;P This lecture was brought to you by Sandy and the letter Zzzzz....
Ah maybe I should have clarifyed. I meant simultaneously in one release day for all systems, which is what I'm assuming is gonna happen with FFXIII? I know that many FF series games have been released for multiple systems. Give me Some credit

Whoops, my fault. Didn't know it was unveiled before the press conference. *bonks self* I'd like to see another game along the lines of No More Heroes using the Motion Plus. I think if they would have waited on that, NMH would have been more awesome than it already is. Actually mimicking the way you swing a sword would immerse the gamer more into what's happening instead of what happened with NMH or games like Twilight Princess. Wish this could have came out sooner.
See, I do not understand that perception. I have watched the "meltdown" over the Internet and I just cannot fathom why people would find this news in the negative unless they are Sony shareholders or already own an Xbox 360 and purchased a PS3 just for Final Fantasy XIII. Now, if Square is really smart, they will somehow make a Wii version of the game.
See, the thing is when has Square ever done a multiplatform release on any of its titles? I can't recall anything. I believe that if they had invested their resources solely in the PS3, they could have really hit the mark and put down a very impressive title because of the capabilities Blu-Ray discs offer. Not saying that people won't be happy with the 360 version or that it will be scaled back or anything, I just believe if they stuck with one platform, they could really reached a high level with this title. I guess time will tell the story for lucky number 13. And as for the Wii......

I seriously thought that Nintendo would put out a stronger showing than it did. I was highly disappointed, since Nintendo normally puts out a very very strong performance with tons of new titles and a bunch of recognizable series. I'm guessing that wasn't the case this year, instead they are pushing the hardware and controllers they released. This is moving forward, but I think that if they would have plopped down a few more titles that came from newer series, they would have once again stolen the show. I dunno about Microsoft getting the FFXIII stuff is necessarily a good thing. The 360 has tremendous power, no doubt. Although I think they could do much more extravagant and over-the-top stuff with the capabilities that Blu-Ray discs can hold. DVD's are still very good for gaming, but I think that Blu-Ray is definitely the wave of the future. I think Sony missed the boat on landing another awesome game series to Microsoft. This is of course, barring what Sony is gonna put out with their press conference. Overall, I've been massively underwhelmed with this year's E3. I know I'm gonna get the hate mail soon from people going. "OMG R U KIDDING?!!!11! ROCK BAND 2 IS COMING OWT! STREET FIGHTER 4! ARE YOU HIGH?!" And the answer is....no I'm not. There wasn't anything that wowed me this year with E3 yet. This is just a whole bunch of already landmark series getting pushed by their developers. I haven't seen anything terribly cool. The Wii Mic is interesting, and so is the new stuff for the Wii Mote, but I don't see anything that is 'knoxs ur soxks off kewl"
Street Fighter 4 is another game I curious to know more about. (SF fan for life) I only know very little of this one. (close to nothing) I know it's not going to be on the Wii. And I've seen some of the characters. Any expectations? What games are you hoping to see?
I'm looking forward to seeing SFIV as well, but there will be playable cabinets for the US at this year's Evolution Fighting Game Championships. So Americans will get their hands on this title sooner than they would think. I've been following all the rumor mills for this game and I've seen all the confimed news via Capcom thanks to shoryuken.com . I'm kinda sketpical about this title being a Street Fighter fan, because the game is taking a whole bunch of new directions and I'm kinda worried that the old school SF fans would reject it because of how it looks compared to the older games in the series. I'm looking forward to the new PoP game, because it looks to be a very rip snorting good time from the screen shots. Let's hope that Ubisoft shows off some gameplay at E3. I'm also curious to see what Nintendo's gonna offer. You never know what's gonna happen with Nintendo, since they are usually VERY tight lipped about their upcoming projects. I would venture to say that they have some bombs they're ready to drop though.

Well, it's been a while since I myself have been to Phoenix, but I do know there is a bunch of sporting events you can attend, such as Arizona Diamondbacks games, Phoenix Suns, Phoenix Coyotes and a few others I'm sure I'm forgetting.
