1. I also think it's because Street Fighter has a massive competitive scene. People travel all over the world for tournaments for Street Fighter games, including the very first game! That's staying power. Also, Street Fighter IV is on the way, so SF fans are looking forward/ dreading it's release. It's been a while since a SF game has been made (about 1999, wow!), so I'd say we're long overdo for a new one. Only time will tell how this game is gonna be though....
2.
KOREY, YOU HAVE TEKKEN 5 *ahem* give me a minute to compose myself..........okay *sigh* you have tekken 5: dark ressurection? i have been wanting the game forever. tell me. can hwoarang fight???? he's my fav character:animesmil as for adventure games, i like them, except if my character dies to many times, i don't play it for a while. stupid mark of kri:animeangr
I have both games. T5DR for my PSP and T5 for the PS2. Hworang can do pretty decent in that game, but he's not the best character in the game as far as the game's mechanics go. I'd say that Heihachi and Devil Jin are the best characters. My personal favorite is Bryan Fury. By adventure games, I'm assuming you mean platformers or something like that. 3D action games. I like those ok, but by far the best game for that is Rachet and Clank. Those games are funny and don't take themselves too seriously, but you can have some pretty intense sessions later on in the game...or if you play multiplayer ;)
3. If you like your hardcore a little more foriegn, I'd suggest Rammstein. I dunno how hardcore you can call them, but it's harder than some bands that are out there. I love the song from XXX Feuer Frei. Give that one a listen and I'll think you'll enjoy it as much as I do :D
4. Man, who says we can't just get along? Sarcasm is a lost art these days. :animesigh As for me, I love fighting games. I play mostly Vampire Savior, Tekken 5: Dark Resurection, Street Fighter:3rd Strike and many others. I find the one on one nature of fighters very intimate and it brings out some of the best thinking in people, unless you just mash buttons...lol. I don't mind Adventure games, but I get bored more often than not. A game really has to capture my attention for me to stay interested in it. One of my personal favorite "Adventure games" was Xenosaga Episode 1: Dur Wille Zur Macht. The story was long, but it was very intriguing. I was hooked on it for a long time. Mortal Kombat
5.
Oooohhhh daayammnn!! *ahem* I am a nerd. I was homeschooled as well. (But only through elementary.) I can house veritable libraries of information in my head, my deductive capabilities make people nervous, and I am mildly empathic. This basically means I am Moriarty incarnate. Insult me at your peril. (^_^)
Homeschooling= win :D Nah, I think that nerdiness has one benefit to it. As I like to say, you may call me a nerd now, but you'll be calling me something later.....boss As long as you are who you are, it shouldn't matter that people are calling you names. You kinda gotta learn to grow a thick skin and shrug off the hating people of the world.
6. I'm currently playing In the Groove for the PS2 . It's an awesome game and much harder than DDR. It's a great way to improve your DDR game in the process, since the patterns are more difficult and some of the steps are way beyond the level of the more challenging DDR songs. Meh, I guess I just like to step on arrows. :animesigh
7. Des wins this argument...hands down.
8.
I think everyone has at least one nerdy thing about them. It doesn't bother me at all. I think it's more nerdy to actually care that you're a nerd more than anything else. The act of thinking about one's own nerdiness is supremely nerdy, in my opinion. :catgirl: I figure that if someone calls me a nerd (and if they're attempting to insult me), that automatically makes them more nerdy than me. After all, calling someone else a nerd is probably one of the most nerdy insults you can make.
You lost me after the second "nerd":animestun To be honest, being called a nerd doesn't really offend me. People will call you a nerd for all sorts of reasons, whether it'd be that you have higher grades, geeky hobbies...etc. You are who you are, and there will always be someone who is gonna ridicule or question that sort of philosophy. It's just the same to jeer the cheerleaders or the jocks, you see nerds do it all the time. In the end, as long as you are happy with who you are, it shouldn't matter what weeaboo stereotype you have.
9. Right now I'm hooked on Puddle of Mudd. They came to El Paso not too long ago. Their first album Come Clean was awesome. I really dug Blurry and She Hates Me, Blurry most of all. I sing it to my GF all the time. It's such a romantic-ish song....:animeshy: I also dig Psycho. That's got an infectious little ring to it and the Chorus is very catchy. It's almost too catchy.....
10. I'm a little unsure what this thread is asking, but I'll go ahead and try. Me? I'm Korey, the one and only. My interests are love, video games, politics, and changing the world. I'm a very passionate person and I love to help others before helping myself, which is a double edged sword. While my friends really love and respect me, sometimes I don't have the time to dedicate to myself. In relationships, making my partner feel like the most beautiful, desirable woman on the Earth is my priority. I have a passion for music of all forms. I've been playing various musical instruments since I was little and now it's helped me start writing my own music. I don't do it for recognition or fame, but to express myself and enjoy music for what it is. I'd much rather play a concert, get off stage and have no one recognize me than to have all the fame in the world.
11. Congratulations Q.A. may your years be filled with bliss for your child. :D
12. I don't play table top RPG's, but I know my way around the Connect Four circuit ;) I never got into that kinda stuff, but I do like watching the games being played, for the sheer amount of imagination that it takes to play these games. Most people who play RPGs have no recollection of what it was to sit around a table with your buddies and go on epic quests to find some ancient relic while battling evil hordes of monsters all while sippin on Crystal Pepsi. Those were the days...:animesigh But games I like to play on the table top are, Life, Connect Four, Sorry, Texas Hold 'Em and Blackjack (cards games are played on a tabletop, so there :P). Ever since that movie 21, I've always wanted to learn to count cards and make a killing off of small casinos in our area. :catgirl:
13. Infectious little beat there. I would suggest taking out the lyrics and just using that as the song that plays when you browse the site. I didn't really care for the lyrics. However I did fine this line very funny ...."by some Australian guy named James, named James"
14. As a side note, Jet Moto got more than one sequel. I think it went as far as 3. It was wicked fun. Few people know the shortcut that I know through the swamp level (psst, it's in the House, gun for the door and boost) As far as games that deserve sequels, the first one that comes to mind for me would be Saturday Night Slammasters. I played this just last night and I think a new remake or sequel is highly deserved. This game is just wicked fun. For those who played Final Fight, this is where Haggar came from ;) I'd also like to see another Viewtiful Joe game, but Clover was disbanded :animesigh:
15. Lol @ the post count before my post (666). Right now my favorite song is "When Two Are One" by Atreyu. It's a fun song and it epitomizes my feelings towards my new GF. I wanna learn to play it now. I think I'm turning into a big fan of Atreyu. I love "Falling Down" and their "You Give Love A Bad Name" cover. This band is just awesome. And it also helps that they're native Texans :)
16. Now playing: I won't see you tonight pt 1 by Avenged Sevenfold. This song is arguably one of my favorites by A7X. It's not really that good for depressed people, but for some reason it helps soothe my pain when I listen to it. I'd put in the top 5 songs list I have for A7X. 1. Bat Country 2. Chapter IV 3. I won't see you tonight 4. Almost Easy 5. Seize the Day
17. Justice is blind man, it's all based on laws and statutes that were made by humans based on subjective views of right and wrong. In the end, it's all up to the judge and jury. If they say guilty, then that's pretty much that. There isn't much you can do, appeals hardly succeed either. By the time the case would be reviewed, it would be years after the initial case. This is just one example of how Justice is about as good as the guy banging the gavel.
18. I've seen this case before and I have to say it's a tragedy. It really shows police brutality for what it is, ugly, cruel and corrupted. I mean...how do you fire 50 shots and not think the guy is dead by then? These guys were out to prove a point and they made it pretty clear when they did that. Many cases of brutatlity or police corruption go unanswered or unpunished, but that's the bitter truth about the country we live in. In the court of law, it's normally a he said, she said affair. It's just so sad for that man. He had so much to live for.
19.
Spring for me always, always means getting outside more and gardening. The late season for Utah, and by late I mean compared to Texas, is the only thing I dislike about living here. I grew up where spring came about much sooner. Anyway, that's what I always do, yard work to get ready to plant everything from flowers to vegetables and herbs. I also tend to work on cleaning the house from top to bottom. It's much easier when it's warm enough outside to have all the windows open to air the place out as well. I really dislike the harsh smell of chemicals. And then, I spend my days being outside as much as possible since I enjoy it and because I have a nice view of the mountains from my backyard.
What about Texas? :'( Spring normally means the end of school for me. College wraps up in about two weeks for me and I'm excited to get out for the summer. I'm a summer child and there's nothing better than going biking down to the beach and ridin the swells for 5-6 hours on end. But it's kinda hard for me right now, seeing as I live more than a hop, skip and jump away from water. Spring also means shorts. I love wearin shorts and I don't like the winter months because it gets reasonably cold enough to where shorts would be a bad idea. So I have to go pants shopping again and again, since I normally don't hold on to pants longer than the winter season.
20. At my job, it's actually illegal for superiors to have relationships with people who work under them. It's a firable offense for both parties. I would say that relationships in the workplace should be taboo, but a lot of people do meet their lovers when at the workplace, more so than people would like to admit. Now, on a personal note, I would say that them falling in love is their choice and that no one should regulate people's feelings. In a sense it's depressing human emotion, which is one of our societies highest pet peeves. However, when it comes to a companies interests, love is definitely not one of them. They are out to make money and as workers, we're there to make it for them. So, when a relationship interferes with productivity, then yeah, it's a problem. My final verdict? Tell your boss. It's a problem for you other workers and it should be dealt with before it gets the chance to escalate to something beyond what it is at this juncture. Court is ajourned. Case Closed. *bangs gavel*
21. This thread just keeps getting better and better. Revisions to the people I'd miss: Desbreko: Cause I don't have a motorcycle riding uncle. Plus his fanclub cracks me up. Maybe I should join up....
22.
That's kind of what I was hoping for. ;D
Lolz, only I don't think it worked too much. Abernikula's after mention didn't count, cause he did it after the fact, so you get only mention, as do I . So we're in the same loser boat. But at least there's room! :D But to boost your rep Steph, I mention thee again as a person I would miss. Score is now reset to Steph:2 Korey: 1. I fail at popularity :P
23.
What the....! urg ....right. Fix that typo in your sig and I might consider it. :p
Consider it done. And BTW, Kenso...my bad. I seriously pondered it for a bit before just going male. Can't tell on this board because some members use purple and pink text in their posts even if they're male.
24. I got hooked on JRock over the weekend thanks to the second OP of Death Note. So I downloaded a lot of JRock Bands. Bands to Check Out MUCC- J Metal Maximum the Horomone- Does Death note 2nd Opening and closing theme. The Pillows- Not just because of FLCL. Check out "Thank you, My Twilight" or "Happy Biouvac" Easily their best albums. D'Esparay (SP?)- J Rock, but kinda more flowery than some other bands...but a good listen for a change of pace. Saw them when they were here with A7X and Bullet for My Valentine. But now playing.... "What's up People?!!" by Maximum the Horomone.
25. Heh, I dunno about the whole "I don't care for these people as much because they are just people online" argument. Regardless of virtual or not, these people are still people (I still hold that Raiha has to be a robot :D) . I do have people that have become close to me, even beyond the boards ( we talk on AIM and such) and we consider each other siblings. Long lost, how the hell did we get so far away from each other siblings. People I'd miss: Indifference: Provided the best Sig I've ever had on OB. Plus him and SunfallE Keep these boards run smooth as silk. When Indifference speaks, you listen. >: ( Stephie/Squiggles/ W/e her name is now: Steph and I've been friends forever. We met on the boards over (wow) 4 years ago. She's really become close to me, even though we've never met. We've sent pics and vids to each other (Even had a Youtube Vid Contest) . I consider her to be one of my most cherished friends. Muad'Dib(Jacob): I met Jacob about the same time as Steph and while he may not be as active now as he was in the past, I still really respect him and hold him in the highest of regards. We're bros till the end. James: Because James is just plain awesome. No discussion. Allamorph: Because we didn't get to finish our pokemon battle over PM. I believe the ball is in your court bud :D
