1. Yuz entered Lt. Ornsby's office with a small sense of dread. He never cared for nagging women and Ornsby woked his nerves to the absolute limit. She was his only superior officer, and nothing he did ever seemed to please her. He walked in and saw that Ornsby was furiously writing down something on a piece of paper. She didn't even look up and said "Yuz, sit down please." Yuz obeyed and calmly sat down. His eyes wandered around the office and he took notice to the picture on Ornsby's desk. It was a picture of her and Morpheus, who was one of the heroes of the Zion War. Yuz never met him in person, but he knew of the exploits of the Nebuchenezzar and its crew. She looked happy with Morpheus, and Yuz wondered how she knew him. His thought process was interuppted with Ornsby's stern voice "Yuz, what were you doing today? I thought the mission was to repair sector 8?" "It was and I did complete my mission but..." Ornsby breaks in " I don't want to hear your stupid excuses! Who cares about some random person in the Matrix?" "She resonates with the same spirit as...." Yuz looks away and his voice trails off. Ornsby loses her anger and meekly puts out "Yuz.... you have to let go. We didn't find any trace of her pod or anything during the recovery....Tell you what. Don't tell anyone I told you this but there is a way to find the one you seek...but you will need some help. According to my sources, he just jacked in and is heading towards a Bloc Party concert at Club Hel. His name is Twitch....he may be able to help you." Yuz looks back up with a small glimmer of hope in his cold eyes "Thank you Lieutenant." She waves and says "Yeah whatever. Just don't let it become another headache for me Yuz."
2. OOC: Okay it's time to start. Just a few reminders for the players. 1. Godmodding is allowed, however, you must consult with the player if it involves anything life changing (death, relationship, epic battle). I reserve the right to make any final decisions on this, so if a consensus can't be reached, then PM me and we will solve this. 2. Posting consistency will not be strictly enforced, however, I will let all players know if the posts start to decline in quality or relative consistency. Let's keep this thread up, we worked so hard to get it. Alright. Let's get started! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ IC: Yuz came back to the real world with a gasp. He sat up and was met by his operaor, Switchboard. She was an average person, not too homely but not overly pretty. She always had a thing for Yuz, but he never seemed to notice. Yuz was always focused on the mission. She knew that Yuz might never fall for her, but she was determined to try. She greeted him with a friendly smile. "Y'know Yuz, they aren't gonna be happy with you! You were supposed to repair sector 8 today..and what do you go and do? You go gallabanding over some lady that doesn't even exist!" Switchboard playfullly jokes. Yuz just stares on ahead. "She exists Switch. The terminal told me so." "Oh yeah? Then where is she?!" "It's hard to pinpoint her location. She seems to move about the virtual world erraticaly. She hasn't been in the same location for no more than minutes at a time. Who ever she is....she moves quickly. It's like she doesn't want to be caught." "Well they want you in the Lieutenants office pronto." Yuz rolled his eyes and sighed. 'Great. Another nagging woman on my back.' Yuz didn't have to answer to anyone but Lt. Ornsby. She was a fiery red head who didn't take any garbage from everyone, espicially Yuz. Yuz got up from his chair and went towards her office. Zion had been rebuilding nicely thanks to the efforts of it's people. Yuz was glad that the people were trying to fix what the machines had destroyed. However, Yuz had lost his lover in the battle of Zion. As he walked down the path to Ornsby's office he had a flashback of the battle of Zion. "AHHHHHH!!!YUZ!!!YUZ!!!" she screamed as the machines closed in. Yuz jumps in and disabled the machines with a swift attack. They rushed off to the escape pod bay. "GO!" Yuz screamed as he shoved her in the escape pods. "Wait Yuz!!!What's gonna happen to you?!" Yuz stood there and closed her pod door...sealing her inside. He said something to her, but she couldn't understand what he was saying. "Yuz?YUZ!!!!" She screamed as she pounded on the pod door. Yuz pressed the eject button and jetisoned the capsule into the depths. He sighed as her capsule floated out of sight. A tear ran down his cheek. Yuz was suddenly set back into reality when he bumped into a young woman. "Ooops. Sorry about that" She said. "No. It's my fault." Yuz said coldy, without expression. The girl got up and hurried along her way. Yuz continued down to Ornsby's office, his thoughts his own.
3. Oh sure, now it's the DDR machine's fault. ^_~ DDR is a huge one for me for the complete opposite reason of AceBurner's. I love to freestyle on the DDR machine and people tend to gather around when I play. But it's really embarassing when someone I know recognizes me and starts bagging me on it. Then everyone knows me as that DDR guy. Grrrrrrrreat! I also tend to sing to myself in moments of sheer boredom. I sing some weird songs though? Have you ever been on a bus going on a sporting trip out of town and then just start singing Journey's "Don't Stop Beleving" for no apparent reason. Then as your teammates stare at you in disbelief....they start singing with you! I had almost the entire Bus singing with me! Holy crap.
4. One more suggestion Capcom vs SNK2: EO (Which stands for Extreme offense): This game is just the original CVS2 with the added feature of using the C stick to instantly throw special moves. Most people shunned this game, espcially the fighting purists, because of that option. However, besides Smash, there really isn't any good fighters for the GC and CVS2 is a brilliant game. Lots of characters, customizable grooves, TONS of room to get better-Heck I'm still learning new stuff everyday in this game and a balanced fighting game engine make this a must buy if you're looking for another good fighter.

7.
I dunno about that... I mean, I've always been one who feels guilty about using a guide, but when i'm running around Sector 4 for 3 freaking hours with no idea what to do, only to find out that I had to duck next to this one single particular wall that had no sign of significance and use a Morph Ball Bomb, you can bet I'll be glad that the strategy guide was there to keep me from breaking my SP on half. (BTW, I'm talking about Metroid Fusion) Another thing that grinds my gears - games that give you no sense of direction. Scouring a level until I find the one stupid passage way i needed to blow up and having to fight the same enemies 50 times is not fun! (which is odd, because I love the Metroid series >_>)
psst...i know what you're talking about...no need to explain ^_~ I think that relying on a strategy guide is alright, but I always make sure I explore every possible angle that I know before I move on to the guide. Metroid games tend to do that. The focus is on exploration and figuring things out...so I guess that would be your fault for not exploring enough. I think that the Metroid series does good to make sure it doesn't hold your hand and forces you to think for yourself. Then again, not knowing where to go and then having to fight enemies for the umpteenth time is highly annoying, but I would rather do that before resorting to a guide.
8.
Not if you're my dumb-*** brother and you spent 20 minutes groveling and getting me drinks so that I could take the time I could've spent watching Hidamari Sketch to come read you a damn strategy guide. I better get some credit for that :animeangr Another thing that grinds my gears - strategy guides that expect you to follow them from the very beginning all the way through. Cut the damn umbilical, I just came for one quest!
To my credit, I have never used a strategy to help me beat a game. I am pretty perceptive about games, even RPGs. I think that relying on strategy guides is stupid and only for those who are too lazy to think for themselves. I hate those gamers. I also dislike those who ask me to help them beat a part of a game for them. Figure it out you dumbass, like I had to. There are exceptions, though. I will tell you how I did something simple like actviate Star Power or throw a Hadoken....that's simple. But don't ask me to beat Ruby Weapon or the Mother Brain for you.
9.
XD that is me all over. I say that about my brother and cousin when I watch them play, usually because I am a total leech, though most of the time it's because I was the one reading the strategy guide while they played. Honestly, I think that deserves some of the credit. Besides, group mentality FTW.
No way....that's just lame. You aren't playing the game at all. You are just reading the Strategy Guide and spewing the info. You aren't the one who has to perform such duties and make the reactions, so you were almost no help in the experience. I can understand if you're playing multiplayer Co-op or something....but reading me the strategy guide doesn't help. I could do that myself.
10.
Oh, and not placing my foot down on the clutch before a gear change grinds my gears too. ;p
Haha me too! Now to the gripe list.... I hate people who speak in acronyms. "Like OMG, I can't believe that MF said to her. TWSUnC" What did you just say? Are you a living, breathing chatroom? Why do I need an internet translator to tell me what you just said? I dislike new members to forums besides this one, because they don't use any form of punctuation at all in their sentences and the phrases "and um yeah" and "sooo, like yeah" and I have to play the nice guy and say "Hey, let's use periods at least please. I can understand not capitaliziing, that's no big deal. But c'mon people, let's use some sort of punctuation to make it readable and I don't have to read your post out loud to discern it. I realize we have all been green before, but even I have the decency to put some fricking puncualization in my posts. I hate people who have double standards. If you are gonna act way to one person, be that way with all people. Best example, my boss. She has favoritism with some of our workers. I know this happens everywhere, but if you are gonna get onto me for doing the same thing that Worker X is doing, at least make it consistant. Punish him/her too. That way I don't take it personally. I get peeved at people who are just plain ignorant to others situations. Whether it stems from race, culture, religion or anything else. If people could learn to look beyond themselves and see where the other party is coming from, then problems can be solved. I don't like people who "Sidecar Game", the people who watch you play a game and then say that they beat it with you. No you did not, you ignorant *** you just watched me. I did all the button mashing, thinking and respawning....so go get your own copy and beat it your damn self. I get that a lot in FPS and RPG's, because in fighters I don't let people Sidecar, they play against me. And that is what grinds my gears.
11.
ewww, 3D sonic.
I can't believe that you would shun SA2. That game was definitely better than the recent entires in the series, namely Sonic and the Secret Rings. I do agree that the 2D Sonics are much better, but this game merited attention because it was a great party game due to the multiplayer modes. Although I will agree with the camera contols, fighting the BioLizard was just painful. Twlight Princess is not an original Zelda by far. You still go to temples, defeat bosses and rescue Zelda from Ganon/Ganondorf. Here's the thing though, TP was not supposed to be a revolution in Zelda. However, it was a really good evolution of the series. The horseback combat was a great addition to the series and the ability to change into a Werewolf was a nice distraction. I would really recommend the one for the Wii though, unless you are a purist about Zelda controls.
12. I have got a new request for a banner to the best fighter to ever live Dan Hibiki.. here's the picture http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k221/HaruharaK/danhibiki.gif Avi: pink with the picture Banner: same, but with the words"Anyone can fight, but no one can show off like I can!" on it in black.... Thank you Korey
13. I could only really suggest Resident Evil if you just wanna play the bare bones edition that doesn't have the cool stuff in the PS2 and Wii versions....but it's a solid experience. If you haven't picked up the other versions, then yeah....go for it. A pretty solid game would be Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles. It's like Zelda:Four Swords, but with 3D planes and a simple battle system, compared to other Final Fantasy games. The game only shines well in Multiplayer however, the Single player story can just get tedious at times because they stick you with an annoying mog that doesn't shut up.
14. Super Smash Brothers: Melee-there's a reason why everyone is recommending this game and it's because it may be the best game for the gamecube . If you get really good, matches can get really intense and it will keep you sated until SSB:Brawl comes out. Legend of Zelda:Twlight Princess- Not as good as the Wii version, but still a great game for the purists that can't stand the newfangled controllers for the Wii. Great game Metroid Prime- one of the few FPS's I enjoy and that's saying something for Metroid. The game is very easy to get into and it is great if you're a big fan of previous installments of Metroid. Mario Power Tennis (title?) This game was fun on the N64 and the addtition of power shots and super saves makes the game zanier and more over the top. Great for parties and an addictive experience. Not too deep, but the tennis is still fun. Sonic Adventure 2:Battle Maybe the last great Sonic game of our generation. The multiplayer is okay and the single player adventure is good, espcially if you've already played the Dreamcast version. Good experience.
15. Sounds interesting, but I already have BM for my PC. I could probably get the songs right now from Bemanistyle. Which by the way, Bemanistyle is a great place for those who are interested in the rhythym game commmunity to get to know each other. We have communities for every BEMANI game, including DDR, Beatmania, Guitar Freaks, Percussion Freaks, Para Para Paradise and Pop'n Music. It also provides places for those who are interested in meeting other BEMANI gamers to chat and organize tournaments and such. I really recommend it to everyone who likes playing these types of games.
16. If you wanna get technical, only downloading .rom files from the internet is illegal. Unless you pay for them ,which most emulators don't do. Most rom sites I found technically are illegal since they don't charge you for the game. Some games are even "un rommable" meaning that they can't be found as roms since they are protected by some board (Not the ESRB), case in point Super Mario RPG. I use the No CD key as well, for the same reasons as White. We have multiple Computers in our house and to waste money on multiple copies of a game is just stupid. Technically we are protected too since just one of us has the game. Optiplex: Good luck with rewriting the stuff with Notepad man. Hope you know your computer code! I kid, it's not that difficult.
17. Hmm...that seems odd. I still play my old Genesis and SNES games and I don't get any feelings of nausea or disorientation. If anything, it would be a feeling of nostalgia that I get. From what I can gather, it seems you get slight headaches from the colors and bright polygons from the older games. It might be some sort of eplitiplitic thing, I don't know. But I've never heard of someone getting nausea or headaches from playing old games
18. Meh my name is totally unoriginal. When I joined OB a looong time ago, I was infatuated with Inuyasha and more importantly Sesshomaru. I still watch Inuyasha, just not as much. I have a screen name that I stick with now on other sites, DJRedrum. Redrum, of course is from the Shining, where Jack Torrence's son goes crazy and starts putting the word Redrum on the walls. Redrum spells murder backwards BTW. But why the DJ? I love to play rhythym video games and on Beatmania, you are known as a DJ. So on Beatmania, I'm DJ Redrum. Makes sense huh? I want to change my user name in the near future to my actual name, because Sesshomarufan just seems so.....archaic. So meh, hope to see you in the future with a new screen name.
19. You don't have to be good at DDR to enjoy it. Many people I know just have fun doing it and when we fail a song, we don't care. We just shrug it off and keep going. No sense in not playing just because you lose or you're not as good as others. I wanna get into Taiko drumming games, because I liked Donkey Konga and I love percussion freaks. I wonder if there is a machine around here in town I could go to?
20. I'll give this a whirl...why not. 1. Do you think you're funny Yes. I can make a lot of people laugh 2. Do others think you're funny? You bet. 21. I think I can help you with this one... Go to the style editor and instead of putting in a hex code, put in a word like BLAH or something like that. That'll make it transparent.
22. My band has been practicing for a little gig that we're doing in about two weeks. We're playing at a qunicenera and I can't wait to play again cause I'm not stuck on the Guitar. They asked us to play some easy songs that even our new guitarist can play, like "When I come Around" by Green Day. I have the setlist on hand "Wild Rock" (sayuki theme, always our first song) "When I come Around"-Green Day "Iron Man" - Black Sabbath "Someday"- Sugar Ray then I get to play guitar for these ones.... "Ace of Spades"- Motorhead "The Trooper"- Iron Maiden "Beast and the Harlot"- Avenged Sevenfold "Search and Destroy"- Iggy Pop and the Stooges It's gonna be cool. We get paid for it too, so that's awesome. The only thing is that we have to wear tuxes, so it's gonna be hard to RAWK in a tux. We're going to loosen up when we start playing though. We'll probably be in only shirts and pants...meh *shrugs*
23.
Whag of finger to you* xD I can't belive I just got Mastodon and Megadeth confused. Man. But uh...Dave really didn't want to leave Metallica. He kind of got dissed. He was really sad, and etc. Honestly, I really don't like Deep Purple or Smoke on the Water. It was the first song I learned and all, besides Iron Man...But I really wouldn't listen to it on a daily basis. Well, I tried finger picking today on my electric...and...No good. lol. Teach me the ways of your skill, massah.
It wasn't me that got Megadeth and Mastodon confused. That was Break *wags finger*. Shame on you for pointing fingers I'm not Nomura, shame on you. I know the story behind Dave Mustaine leaving Metallica, trust me :P. As for finger picking....that's something that comes along with lots of practice and knowing your way around your guitar. I can't really suggest any tips or tricks, because that comes with personal preference. I only finger pick when I'm playing something like "Good Riddance" or "Minority" by Green Day, but that's only because some of those parts are acoustic. Acoustic is definitely better for strumming than electric though.
24.
So many people speaking from a strictly Christian stand point, I could almost be insulted that just because a religion says something that it must be true and used in defense of disliking an individual or group.
Exactly my point. It's not only in Christianity that you see this though. Jews and Muslims hate each other and Muslims find new and interesting things in the Q'uaran that say that we should kill all who oppose our God's will. Fanaticism, I realize, but I remember the Christians doing something remotely akin to this somewhere, at some time. Meh, I don't know. ^_~ It's a funny situation when you have homosexual friends and you are a person who is personally against homosexuality. You start getting this feeling that somehow, someway, they are going to turn you gay. It's funny that you think that we're thinking you yell at Homosexuals, Break. I assure you we think of you as a person who is open about their opinions and not afraid to defend them. You say you don't know what your opinion is and that is a good thing. You are starting to let yourself be open to new ideas and lifestyles. You may not personally start advocating homosexuality or have a homosexual relationship....but you will learn to eventually learn to accept that it's there and that it may not be a bad thing necessarily.
25.
I have definitely... probably heard it somewhere. Oh yeah I did quite like Green Day - even the not-so-widely-acclaimed Warning. Everyone probably says this, but Dookie I like a lot. Chilis are good too. I think I very much like, not their earlier stuff, but not their very new stuff. In between. U2 I find boring.
I liked Warning just fine. I wasn't too thrilled about Nimrod though. I loved Dookie and their Greatest hits Album:International Superhits is sex compressed into a CD and called a Green Day album. The Chili Peppers had the advantage of not changing their sound too much from their early days. I didn't like the Album with Dave Navarro though. John Frusciante is just a better fit for the band, seing as he was the original guitarist. I don't see why people hated their newer stuff. It's practically the same as older albums like Blood Sugar Sex Magik or Californication. I liked By The Way and Stadium Arcadium, which I believe was their crownining achievement. U2 is awesome because their sound transcends time. I still listen to Bloody Sunday and In the Name of Love from time to time and I believe that U2 should be must listen to music because they have a song for everyone. I think that they should release a new album soon though. Bono needs to spend some more time in the studio,
