1. after a long absance....i sesshomarufan have returned. .you may now persecute me to the fullest extent of the board law. but more on topic...i'm an avid fighting game fan and this game just plain rocks. i've been playing in tournaments and i'm set to enter evo 2K7 this year. so i'm asking everyone else.... who is your favorite character and why? who is your backup character when your favorite character doesn't work? what is the best GG game in your opinion and why? do you play on XBox Live or in tournaments? here's mine Favorite Character: Sol Badguy, because i can kill you with one simple dustloop combo. albeit it's very cheap, but you shouldn't have fell into it in the first place...so you can get over it. ^_^ Backup Character: Axl Low. Big beefy combos that are hard to predict and defend against because they are so slow. Best GG game: GGXX Slash because it's easier to pull off dust loops and some of the stuff that made the game broken was taken out or refined. easily the best of the series and yes i play on Xbox Live and tournaments. look for me to be in Evo 2K7!
Welcome back Sesshomarufan, since it's been awhile I suggest you take a moment to go over the rules, FAQ and the stickies in each section before posting. For example as can be seen here in the How to post Hardwired sticky: We the staff have put together a special [thread=56766]Thread Directory[/thread] which you can use to look over existing official game threads. If I take just a quick look there, I can see that there is already a Super Smash Bros. Brawl thread. So, instead of making a new thread, I'll just post there (no matter how old it is). So I have merged your thread with the already existing Guilty Gear thread. Next time be sure to check before creating a new thread. Thanks. ~indifference
2. personally i recommend DDR any edition for the ps2 or the xbox. you would also have to buy the pad, but's it's GREAT for parties and even if you wanna lose some poundage.(a good new years resolution) but be forwarned....YOU WILL LOOK LIKE A DORK PLAYING THIS GAME! i also recommend Ace Combat 4 (ps2/budget title) Capcom Classics (ps2/ budget title/ like twenty games in one) but be forewarned, it is super frickin hard. but it has superb games. guilty gear before isuka any metal gear game soul calibur 2 or 3 (they're pretty much the same anyways) THUG just a few i recommend. but you should definitely research your material before you make your final purchase. i've made that mistake a couple of times and i'll never make that mistake again. buy the type of games you like, but be open to new experiences. you might discover that you actually like that sort of game, you just needed to see what you wanted for that type of game.
 3.
The honest truth is that you lose it when you are ready. End of story. Why associate "weirdness" with it? Who cares what other people think? If you are going to base your loss of virginity on an external standard for whatever reason, I think you are already making a mistake. I mean, in the same way that you shouldn't lose your virginity early due to peer pressure, you also shouldn't force yourself to lose it because you're worried that people will view you as a loser or something. As a novel idea, why don't we worry less about what people think is "normal" and instead focus on what we feel is right for us? Afterall, you are in the best position to know what you feel comfortable with and to know when the time is right.
Here here james! no matter how many people say when the time is right, no matter how cliche it is, it is the honest to god truth. honestly though, sometimes your vision of "approiate age" is different from other peoples. let me put that into context for you. in older times, it was considered perfectally normal for a woman to have sex even before she turned 18! this goes along with the arrangement of marriages and stuff. it wasn't uncommon to see women with two to three children before becoming "legal" by today's standards. a lot of times, people will pressure you to having sex before you feel the time is right. and those people should feel pretty damn stupid about what they are asking of you. but you know who you "like" and who you "love" so the decision is totally up to you as a person and your "partner". as far as people being 40-50ish before having sex is kind of weird, but i wouldn't care about that too much. there are much worse things going on in the world to worry about people who aren't sexually active. again it's all based on interpretation.
 4. i dont think that there is a thread for posting "sigs". now if you are talking about avatar submissions, then there should be a thread for it if you look in the search engine. just type in avatar submission. i think that your sigs are good i would make them bigger and maybe add some other sort of visual element, like your name or a symbol of some sort. that would really give you a voice as a designer. yours truly Korey
 5. ah Getbackers. what a fine anime and manga. i have the graphic novels and i do tend to recommend it to others, because of the action mixed in with the comedy at the same time. the one with the evil eye you are referring to is Ban Mido. he is probably my favorite character, if it weren't for Ginji being there. but i do agree with you, it is a must read for action fans. by the way corey, you have a nice name Yours Truly Korey (that's my name)
 6. i guess that is a hard question to answer. if you look at some artists, they took the hard route up (being an assistant artist, designer, formater) before they even had some series of their own. others are just naturally talented and get straight to doing there own series for a company. if you were talking about how much money it makes, it would depend on many things. Book sales, which company you worked for, advertisements...etc. while anime creators are highly revered here and in japan, i would say that they make enough money to keep them satisfied. since they work in the media department, the creators do get a healthy sum of money. it's like the people here in the states such as Dreamworks or Pixar. it's just a different form of animation. oh and to answer your last question. while it would be nice if you could work doing what you like, sadly not all positions are open. naturally there are peole who do jobs that they excel at, but sometimes you just have to suck it up and work to bring in the bacon
 7.
Remember when arcades were EVERYTHING a kid (or adult) could ask for? I remember going to the mall, JUST for the arcade. Everyone knows that arcades were a gold mine. How much money did you usually spend at one? $100? $200? Well, its 2005 and arcades dont have that touch anymore. With home consoles in your living room, arcades are almost gone. Every once in a while, you'll see at least 10 or 20 people at one...but that'll be all. What happened? As Ive stated before, consoles have dominated since the early 80s and EXPLODED with the 90s....and now on the horizon, PS3, Xbox 360, and Nintendos Revolution, will literally change the way we play games. So, without furthur ado, we shall say "farewell" to arcades in the next few years. :(
im sorry Qman, i must respectfully disagree with you. while the amount of people in the arcades has diminished, the spirit of going to the arcade is still there. for example, to me it is much more fun to play DDR in an arcade than at my house with my lousy soft pad. plus if you are good at the game that you are at, the amount of respect that you get is quite pleasing. so even though you might be in an arcade with a slightly less amount of people, the feeling is still there. on a different note, i like the direction the gaming world is going. with online games, you can play with people around the world, and you are not limited to the local people in the arcade and the occasional tournament. if you look at some of the top players in the arcade business (espcially with fighting games) you would see that some of the country's best players are duking it out in the online arena. such great players have noticed that the trends are starting to change, and they are adapting to it. anyways arcades still do make a ton of money. my local arcade generates over 8000 bucks a month, so they still are going on strong. if you look at today's generation of gamers, you would see that more people are leaning towards the console type of gaming. look at it this way, can you play games like god of war or doom3 at an arcade? yours truly Korey
 8. well i often play Yu-gi-oh with my brother, but sometimes i play with my friends. it kinda depends on what im doing at the time. i dont' play currently, but i still will pick up the cards and play every once and a while. im more into the Magic: the gathering. it's more complicated and the art on the cards is sooooo much more goth than yu-gi-oh. but i have no problems with playin cards. it's cool
 9.
I was watching TV the other day and I noticed that in the beginning of 'Malcolm in the Middle' there were bits and pieces of anime. Another instance was in a slumberland commercial Vash the Stampede made a few appearences... So my question to you would be have you seen anything like this? and what are your feelings towards it? Like 'holy crap they can't do that!' or 'whoa anime on regular TV!' Personally I'd like to here your opinions. (And if anyone knows what animes that were in the beginning of 'Malcolm in the Middle' please tell me.)
yes that did happen in an episode of malcom of middle and i did see that in there. here's a couple of examples for you. example one, kill bill. There is a anime scene that is short, but it is memorable. another example is on the simpsons when mr Smiley (homer) is presented in an anime style drawing technique. More examples include refrences in Billy and Mandy, Megas... etc. I think its great that American culture and Japanese culture is being assimilated together and it does help people have a greater feelings towards anime as a defining thing in japanese culture. Also it helps anime have a greater exposure factor, if you could call it that, for other people who dont nesicarally know what that kind of thing is. also, the allusions to anime are designed for you to say, "hey there's vash in a commercial!" it would only appeal to someone who knows about vash, or someone familiar with anime.
 10. kiruna walked through the halls searching for his friends but couldnt find any of them. all of a sudden he is shoved to the ground and a familiar giggle comes from behind him. natsu: what's up you bum! Kiruna gets up and dusts his clothes off grinning. kiruna: nothing much. i have something for you. kiruna reaches into his backpack and pulls out a small necklace with a emerald fastened at the end. the dimond glistens in the light and kiruna saw that natsu's eyes were also shining. Kiruna: here ya go. i had my mom help me pick it out for you. natsu blushes and has a big smile on her face. she barely stammers out a "thank you" and rushes to embrace kiruna. then the bell rings and they go to class holding hands together. ooc: wow that was my shortest post ever! id like to congratulate myself on my lack of story to go off of. ^^
 11.
Didn't think you were gonna do this without me did you!? Natsu is BAAAAAAAACK! OOC:Ill edit this later
damn straight i wasnt!:D kiruna wouldnt be crap without natsu.
 12. Welcome all new people and returners to the second installation of my school daze rpg. for those who are wondering where is my story going, here's a little background for you "Later honey! be good. Make good choices" kiruna's mom shouts out the window of her car. kiruna twirls around with his face a beet red. he was so embrassed. he slowly nodded his head in reply and waved goodbye and turned around. every person in the front of the school had seen it... he was tottally screwed. he looked down and walked straight ahead not listening to the comments that were spoken towards his direction. "maybe my friends will cheer me up." he said to himself. it had been three months since jacob, skye, natsu, and him had went to disneyworld, but he still remembered every single experience of it. now that school was back in session, kiruna had to focus on his new goals.graduation was one of them. kiruna was now a senior and only had one more year of school left and he planned to make it his best. There's some story now for the sign up sheet. name age gender looks (be specific, clothes, eye color, height, build..etc) personality grade (japanese style, for example if you are 14 you are in the japanese equivlalent of the 9th grade...etc) bio not required for this one. here's an example for you Name: Kiruna Etsune age:17 gender: male Looks: tall, slightly buff with true hazel eyes and light brown hair. Wears blue or black zipoff pants with a shirt that has a dragon emblem on it. Wears a necklace with a dragon on it Personality: quiet, shy around girls, luvvss to party (^^). has a strong sense of justice and morals. good student. grade: *** equivalent of 12th grade
 13.
I'm clam, it was amore of a joke than yelling or anything. I only capatalize words I like to emphasize, not implying im yelling.... changing color is hair doesn't happen after a few days... usually takes months, sometime a year for it to happen. It usually happens to people who consistantly are outside for hours upon hours for days upon days.... surfers for example tend to have that happen to them , anyone who spends alot of time at the beach or lives on the beach... those type of people.
Well i have a question for you then. does the opposite apply for the people who stay inside for hours and hours in cities like london and seattle? also i didnt know that you werent yelling or anythin', you see when i do read the entire post (which is rare) i tend to read them out loud and your posts sound like you are yelling or raising your voice, whatever you prefer.
 14. i like the concept for your banner. the whole comparison with wolverine and rogue from the movie and from the comics is really an awesome choice. the background also fits the theme of your banner well. a 456543.2 on a scale from one to ten. Good job ... really good job.
 15.
RRRREEEEAAAADDDD MMMMYYYY PPPOOOOSSSSTTTT I said your hair LOSES pigment, i never said it tans. Your skin changes pigment when interacting with the sunlight/rays hence why your skin gets DARKER! Your hair on the other hand LOSES pigment, which means it GET LIGHTER! Did i not make that clear? Do you not know what pigment is? Do you not know how color works?
calm down calm down. i didnt read your post in its entirety, i never really tend to do so anyways, takes too much of my time. i get your argument in its entirety now. i know how colors work my fellow otaku, i have the experience from high school to prove it. the whole color thing and the sun must have tooken a miss for me, because my hair never changed color at all, and i get plenty of outside exposure.
 16.
Yeah, my eyes change color all the time. I believe its called color contacts.... quite an invention. Makes your eyes magically change color! In all seriousness though... Hair color can change with the sun. Sun light affcts your hair like it affects your skin. The same reason why you TAN is the same reason why Pigment is your hair is removed with excess sun light. However, it's all temporary, as when your hair grows back, it will grow back in its original color. Now, newborns and children under the age of 5 have common occurances when their hair will actually gradually change to their "nature" color. For instance, I have dark brown hair, as a todler, I had blond hair. That doesn't work with adults though. Unless dye is involved.
one question. Do you think that the sun is changing your color because your hair is like your skin or is it because the light of the sun is affecting the appearance of your hair because it is in a different light? i'll use myself as an example. i live in a desert, where clouds are very scarce and the sun is out most of the time. yet i look at pictures of myself outside and inside, but i cant find a difference in my hair color. i know that it would look different because of the light that the sun is reflecting off of my hair. Think about what you said, does your hair actually tan?
Eye color on the other hand. I think many of you don't understand how light works. When light is removed things tend to become darker than they were if lets say, light was there. Hence when it's stromy outside, theres no direct sunlight, your eyes tend to look darker! Ahh amazing isn't it? What a coincedence that the lack of sunlight would make your eyes look darker. Does anyone have any logically thought process here? Or do you just random come up with fantasies to explain what doesn't need explaining.
i am perfectally aware of how light works and you make a good point on the whole issue. but your theory is not totally correct. For example, peoples eyes can change color because of the colors they are wearing on their clothes. For example winter colors tend to show more dark pigments in a persons eyes and the opposite is true for summer colors. Aren't colors weird?
Does anyone have any logically thought process here? Or do you just random come up with fantasies to explain what doesn't need explaining.
well i wouldnt say that i come with random stuff. everyone has their opinions friend and thier posts are probably based on personal learning experiences, not just something that is made up mumbo jumbo. think about it. would you say something in a argument just to be heard? people tend to back up their arguments with their own personal beliefs. case in point, me.
 17. i thought this thread had died out. *shakes head* oops! Well on with the news. Yesterday i saw on Cnn that Mt Saint helens is predicted to erupt soon because it is belching smoke "puffs" and scientists are worried about this because of the previous eruptions that have tooken place in the past. This supposed eruption is expected to have a major impact on the peopole living there because of the expected runoff is suposed to destroy a huge amount of the local houses and most of the foliage in the area on the northern side of the mountain.
 18.
Heh, sounds to me like you've made a case for "mood eyes." Certainly you've been careful to talk about it being the "apparent eye color" rather than the "actual eye color" that changes. Regardless, you've stated both that the blood in one's iris can dilate when one is upset changing the apparent color, and that the melanin substance of pigments tend to change in certain situations causing eye color to appear as something else. My eyes can appear blue, grey, green, or violet, or so I've heard.
blood dilating in the iris is an interesting point becca, and it seems to make sense. but i really havent heard of "mood eyes", it's probably a mercury retrograde. i know that my eyes change color when im in a different mood, but the whole idea isnt out of the question. like ive said in previous posts, the whole thing with eye changing colors is totally up to personal beliefs. if you were to ask a puritan for example, they would probably say that you were a devil child and use some occult ritual to exorcise the demons from you :D. the whole thing is never explained in fact, its a theory. anyways its cool and i believe in it. vive le hazels!
 19.
Well, almost. Star Ocean (was and) still is property of it's respective subsidiary development studio under Enix. Though the Square Enix merger settled with Square's CEO as Head of Square Enix, because Square's stocks were more valuable, Square's franchises are still developed independently, as are Enix's. The titles released since the merger are simply label mates. Star Ocean:Til the End of Time is not Square. As for Final Fantasy Tactics, yes, I was heavily addicted. I stayed up for 3 straight weeks playing it. Too linear for me though, and the story lacked substance. It was like reading a fictional, chaptered history book. Dialogue. Battle. Next page. Battle. Dialogue. Next page. Redundancy never scores well, but to each their own. I think it's still too young to conclude to it's timelessness. Also, it's current audience is the handheld gamer. A massive percentage of people who own GBA's are under 16. I don't give much credit to the opinions of people who play handhelds. :)
that's true about start ocean being mostly developed by enix, but if you look at the credits, some of the head programmers do actually work on some square projects as well! (why dont people ever look at the credits?) i guess that's my weird thing. also ffta did lack the dynamic story that was present in the original fftactics, but it was better than certain rpg's i know *golden sun* cough cough. also im under sixteen but i primarily into the arcade gaming scene. my friends recommend ffta to me. i agree with your lack of cred to handhelders, but dont forget that handhelds have some of the timless games as well.
 20.
*OFF TOPIC* - Hey Dragon warrior I wasn't biting your head off..LOL..and I don't mind the scientific know how and I'm really open to peoples opinions..My way of thinking is that everyones entitled to their own opinions...I have no problem with that... I just didn't think that science would be brought into it thats all...(Why is it that some take what I say the wrong way even though I've put LOL at the end of it)...anyway...by the way thanks Sesshomarufan!! I actually do agree with James!...you see my best mates eyes change colour in different shades of light which is pretty cool...but can anyone tell me why mine seem to change when the lightings really dim??..meaning they go an Icy blue...why is that? shouldn't they go darker rather than go lighter?...I'm not much of a science person...LOL...I actually like the feed back in this thread..especially the science part..LOL..although all I wanted was to see if anyone else's eyes change colour aswell...but hey..this is fun! Hey thanks for all your opinions!!! Cool...
off topic: well youre welcome friend. sometimes all people need is a good slap into reality (well not me , im the excpetion) well anything said can be misunderstood and turned into something else. on topic: i dont know about your eyes changing to a lighter color when lights are dimmer. you could be a special type of person in that respect. I know that my eyes change colors from an emerald greed to a more foresty green when it's cloudy outside. meh *shrugs* i cant really explain why it happens it really just does happen. i accept that it makes me unique and other stuff that they teach on preeducation shows, but its also a chick magnet off topic: well youre welcome friend. sometimes all people need is a good slap into reality (well not me , im the excpetion) well anything said can be misunderstood and turned into something else. on topic: i dont know about your eyes changing to a lighter color when lights are dimmer. you could be a special type of person in that respect. 21.
Final Fantasy VII[/b'], to be true. I know it's greatness played out and overexaggerated, but its the only game that, after seven years, still interests me. I periodically find the inspiration to purchase a new playstation just to play it again, then sell it. Final Fantasy VII was a breakthrough in role gameplay and was slightly ahead of it's time. The story is rebelious yet dishearteningly sweet, the musical score is quite overachieving, and the pre-rendered backgrounds are lush. I acknowledge that there are better games out there, but few have the classic staying power of Final Fantasy VII, or VI for that matter as well. I've yet to be as impressed again by Square.
ff7 did have a lot of gameplay elements that made it shine as one of the must have games of the last decade. the backgrounds were also undisputedly some of the best, the ps1 had seen in its lifetime. As for your biff with square, i personally think square is developing some really good titles that can stand the test of time. for example final fantasy tactics advance is so addictive, i would keep playing it just to reach the
300 mission
. also star ocean three came out recently and it looks absopositively gorgeous! Goldeneye. Does this even need an explanation? The first console FPS to ever compete with the funfactor of PC. Angry at your mom? Goldeneye. Want to kill your siblings? Goldeneye. Hate your dad? Goldeneye. Getting picked on at school? Goldeneye. Having a party? Goldeneye. Its the answer to life.
Really i think that goldeneye is also a must have game for those who love fps. the multiplayer mode had so may options that i didnt have to worry about someone pickin up the whole big gun thing without being able to retalitate back.
 22. could someone make me a banner to match my avatar? this avi is in the premade ones and i would like the banner to say the keeper of soul edge- sesshomarufan thanx!
 23. i luvvved ffta so i think i can be game for this rpg. here's my character Name: Kiruna Etsune (this will always be my rpg name) age: 16 gender: male race: human appearance: tall and lean with blond hair and emerald green eyes. not heavily armored, but doesnt need it. wears a long white cape (imagine nathan graves from castlevania:circle of themoon) Starting class: paladin (has learned ninja skills as well) Starting weapon: Nagarok, and excalibur 2 Starting a abilities: chivalry: holy blade and holy cross ninja skills: metal veil and wood veil Starting s abilities: double sword Starting r abilities: counter: allows counter of any physical attack or magical attack in a four space radius of the character. Bio: Kiruna is a paladin for hire that was formerly employed by the queen of ivalace. ever since her dethronement, he has tooken up contract jobs as a merc for hire. Kiruna is considered an oddity with his ninja skills and his current job as a paladin. he is very quiet and resrved. among mercenaries he is in the upper circles and the clans of ivalace have feuding over to whom he will join. 24.
I'm not mocking anyone it's just that my eyes have been like that ever since i was little..hard to believe but it's true and if thats the way everyone feels about it...well there's nothing I can do about it...besides all I asked for is if anyone else has this problem and all I've been give so far is a science lesson and superstitious talk....but I do thank everyone for their posts..Ok
well your welcome for the post. i wouldnt say that my eye color change is a problem really, just a really cool trait that not everyone has. as for your denouncing of the science lessons and superstitous stuff, welcome to reality my friend. everyone has their own beliefs on this issue and you didnt say that we couldnt post that way persay. My eyes have changed their colors for as long as i can remember as well. the whole thing about eyes changing color has never been truly explained in this world or the next. People offer some explanations for certain people, but then you get the odd one out that changes the whoole theory.
 25.
Your eyes and your hair colour are determined by genetics. As far as I know, those things are hardwired and don't change. But I'm sure that hair and eyes can look different under different circumstances. I know that with my sister, for example, her hair can look quite different under different lighting conditions. But her actual hair hasn't changed, it's just a result of lighting differences.
true bossman james, very true. as far as science goes eye color change is tottally based on genectics. as far as i can tell, the pigment and color of someone's eyes can change based on certain events, such as what color you where on your clothes, the weather, your mood, etc. i personally have hazel eyes myself, there's a real life example for ya. my eyes change from green to a bluish color when i tend to wear more wintery colors and the opposite holds true for summer clothes. i've never heard of a hair color change, but is definitely possible
