HIi I'm a little confused, :( None of my submited artwork is showing up. I even fixed the pixel size and I'm just a little upset... Please reply with tips. Also I am new to computers so please email me at lizdragon3714@AOL.com
Amun Ra, try re-submitting your art work. I just went through all the art that were waiting for approval. Perhaps there was a glitch in the system when you submitted. Try re-submitting and hopefully it will make it on the site. :) Just a reminder to everyone. Make sure the art you are submitting is your original work. Screen captures, which there have been many of, are not considered fan art. Anyone with questions about this can PM me. Keep up the great fan art everyone! ~Panda

Art My new Banner!!..Got any opinions on it?
Panda replied to Heero Darkangel's topic in Creative Works
Very good job on your first banner! The only suggestions I have would be to do a bit more blending on the white edge of the upper left hand image to the blue/black of the image behind it. It would give it a softer transition between images. The next suggestion would be to change the color of your text. The dark lettering is difficult to read over the dark images. Otherwise excellent job on your first banner! Keep up the great work! -
Hello em si hsoJ, welcome to the OtakuBoards. Be sure when posting that you use proper punctuation. It makes your posts easier to read. This topic could go into the Art Studio since it deals with fan art, but no biggie. :) To answer your question, you become a senior level artist after you have several pieces of fan art approved. If you have any more questions dealing with fan art please feel free to PM me.

Back in my school days we had a dress code rule that shorts and skirts had to be a certain length, hair couldn't be too tall, no clothing with a drug/alcohol theme and if you violated these rules you could be sent home to change. At one point Bart Simpson shirts were outlawed at school. When the Simpson's first came out there was a shirt with Bart that said "Underachiever and proud of it." The school board felt this was a bad message to send to the kids. The school makes the rules and we were expected to follow them. We could wear what we want at home but not on school property. Hey, at least it was much better than wearing a set school uniform.

Both have their benefits and disadvantages. Been there, done that. It really depends on your personality type and what would be the best for your learning environment. Yes, the social part of college is fun, but your education is the number one priority. Living at home while going to college is great since you don't have to pay for your housing. I did this for a couple of years and it really helped. I don't have any college loans to pay back since all the money I earned while working went to pay for my classes and supplies instead of housing. I still went out with friends I made in classes for study groups and parties so I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything. Another advantage was having the peace and quiet...no distractions...when trying to get projects done. Living in the dorms or on campus gives you a chance to meet plenty of other people and socialize. It gives you a sense of independence living away from the folks and let's you have more control over your schedule. Most parents probably won't like their kid coming home at 3am after a weekend party. ;) Living on campus also gives you a life experience that helps you deal with many different people and personality types. Much like the real world. Weigh the options and do what you think is best. I wish you the best of luck at university!

For me it would be when the entire "grunge" movement became mainstream. Back in the late 80's early 90's I would go to shows in Seattle with my friends. The "Seattle sound" and look was normal. I knew it had gone too far when I opened up a Vogue magazine, which is know for it's high fashion, and there was a huge spread on grunge wear. Ugh. Paying $500 for a flannel shirt and $2000 for a pair of jazzed up Doc Martens seemed over the top. It was much better when it was just the local scene and not a commercialized world-wide money maker. At that point I knew it was the end and the backlash against the Seattle scene would begin.

What was the most embarrassing moment you had in public...
Panda replied to So-Seductive's topic in General Discussion
I have not posted here in a long time but anyway,Lucifer i have no comment on your post lol,and yeah you got lucky that is if she still dating you
KibasWifey, be sure when you are posting that you use proper capitalization and puctuation. One line posts are generally considered spam so be sure your responses are adding to the subject matter. Telling someone you have no comment isn't adding to the discussion. Thanks! Now going on-topic: One of the most embarrassing moments I have had in recent times was at Anime Expo. I was sitting near the front of the Cosplay Masquerade with all the anime industry people. So pretty much the "grown-ups". All the rabid otaku fans were in the back of the room. When Brad DeMoss, the MC asked the crowd if there were any shonen-ai fans the back of the room exploded in cheers. The front was pretty conservative. I did my polite clap and waited for the skit to start. Then Brad announced it was Bad Luck and Nittle Grasper! That changed everything. Needless to say the fan girl part of me took over and I screamed really loud and started clapping. Everyone around me just looked at me like I was a freak! Mind you the back of the room had the same reaction. I guess those stuffy anime industry guys just don't know how to let loose. :p -
The events of September 11 really changed the lives of many people. Many of my family and friends work in the airline industry and they took a very hard hit. Even going to visit my dad at this office is so much trouble now I don't go to his work anymore. He works for Japan Airlines at the training facility here in the US. Two of my uncles and one of my aunts lost their jobs at United Airlines. In the big picture of 9/11 loosing a job is not nearly as bad as loosing the life of a loved one. I remember I was getting ready for work when I heard the news. I had the radio on while I was getting ready when they announced that a plane crashed into Trade Center. On my way into the office the towers had fallen. I just remember having this terrible sinking feeling in my gut. Absolutely terrible feeling, I can't imagine what those at ground zero were going through. Eleven days later I was on a plane flying to Florida and the plane was pratically empty. So many people were scared to fly. It is sad to think about all the lost lives. I remember going to NYC and visiting the WTC. It's sad to think they aren't there anymore and future generations will never get a chance to see them in real life. 9/11 has changed the lives of so many people, let's hope nothing like this happens again.

Excellent job Mistress Roxie! It really is quite impressive and interesting to see who everyone on the boards are "related" too. It's always good for a family to know where it's roots are. Thanks for taking the time putting the family tree together. :)

It is just a bit of fun people on the boards have with their friends. You basically get your friends together and list out your online "family". Since you have requested PM responses I am going to lock this thread.

Old school animes, that is a tough question for me to answer. My all time favorite of the old school set would be Macross, Mospeada and Robotech. I really enjoyed the transforming mecha, soap opera storylines and character development. When watching these animes as a kid I really liked how these animes had more of an "adult" feel to them. I guess that is why they hold a special place in my heart for them. They remind me of my childhood. :)

Since Kyokokeiji already has a great response on how to make coffee, I am going to lock this thread. Please work on your post quality Kyokokeiji. Proper spelling, grammar and a topic that will generate discussion are major factors in a quality post.

Unfortunately this topic is not going to produce the kind of quality discussions we like to see on the Otakuboards. Please note the massive amount of "me" votes in just the first two posts. We already have a yearly "Otaku Awards" which can be viewed in the Community Events section of the boards. It would be best to wait for that community event and place your votes then of your picks for your favorite Otaku members. :)

This topic is not going to produce quality responses or discussion. Alchemist, please put a little more effort into starting a thread that will start discussions. The topic as is will only result in spam for responses.

I have many, many stories, both funny and frightening from veterinary medicine, but I will stick to the human ER stories. I am a walking insurance agents nightmare. I've broken several bones, had a finger amputated and several cuts that required numerous sutures. Today, I am going to share an embarassing story. When I was 14 years old I had a severe allergic reaction to some medication. While in the emergency room with my father the ER doc was asking me questions. The ones you expect to hear. Have you had a reaction like this before? What medications are you currently taking....then he asked me if I was sexually active! My poor father fell out of his chair! I am sure I turned bright red from the embarassment. The answer was no, but still when you are 14 and with your father that is really not a question you want someone asking you.

This thread is of very poor quality. Bad grammar, spelling and a very unclear subject matter. ouhokan, please put more effort into your post when starting a new thread. It would be good for you to review the rules for the site as well. Thread closed.
