EDIT: Speaking of the network, perhaps the top bar should link back to theOtaku? It's partly a selfish request, since I used to use OB as a front door, but we should probably still be associated with the site we're supposed to be the forums of, right?
It's a work in progress. The plan is to eventually have a nice tab that links to various parts of the network. In the mean time though, there's a link to theOtaku in the footer.
2. This confirms what I thought might be an issue. It seems that the forum is completely incapable of sending any email right now as notice of new profile comments and friends has not been going through. Now that I know what the issue may be though, I'll see if I can fix it.
3. I've tried resizing my browser to very small windows and I still can't get the columns to fall out of alignment. The only reason I can think of for this is that the software reads your screen resolution instead of the current size of your browser when it sets the table width. Because, for me anyway, I can only shrink the window so far and then the table's width fixes itself and I get a horizontal scroll bar from that point forward.
4. I kind of liked Citric but I think that was mostly because I was used to it. Oh, and tell me if you get a notification for this.

5.
To be fair, the current avatar restrictions are, I think, the maximum, and not the mandate; TheOtaku is 100-square, no more no less no freedom, so at present if you wanted a square avatar you could make it 80-square and be fine.
Bingo. The important thing to remember here is that we are talking about the maximum dimensions. If we were to use 150x150, that means you can have up to a square at 150 pixels per side. However, if you wanted to keep your 150x80 avatar, that would still be allowed and it wouldn't be re-sized. I realize the second half of this thread is regarding the avatar library but the simple solution there is to make custom avatars of varying sizes and let the user pick. Again, with a 150x150 max, you could make anything up to and including 150x150 and it would work across the site. Personally, I think this is the way to go because it allows for the most freedom in terms of uploads and also personal style. Like this, you don't need to pick rectangular or square because you get both.
6.
Would using a CRT monitor have anything to do with anything? Or maybe the fact that this computer was a lower/mid-line Dell desktop purchased in 2001, with appropriate processor/av-card?
Your hardware shouldn't have anything to do with the way the page is rendering though, to be honest, I have no idea why you're seeing what you're seeing. I've tried everything I could think of to replicate the issue on my end to no avail. Edit: I fixed the size of the edited by line so it is far less obtrusive now. Let me know if this works for everyone or if you'd like it changed further. Still no luck on turning off the line if the post is edited within a certain time though.
7. Hey! It didn't tell me of your message for some reason. I have to check how it's supposed to notify you.

8. Oh, well I take back everything I just said then. I didn't bother clicking those links as I thought it would just reorder the display they were sitting above. Good find.
9. [strike]You were looking for the original page that showed who was online and what they were doing I assume? If so, there is no such page with IPB. You can still see who's online from that list and clicking on individual members will let you see what their current activity is but you can't do it all in one place.[/strike] And I'm not sure what would be causing that for you. I tried resizing my browser to various widths and still, all of my columns line up.
10. [strike]There's no link.[/strike] The bottom portion of the home page just shows who's currently online.
11. They're all the same size for me. Mind taking a screen shot so I can see what you're seeing? [strike]And Who's Online seems to be gone, available only at the bottom of the home page now.[/strike]
12. Forum blurb boxes? I'm not entirely sure what you mean.
13. They're on the list of things to be re-added to the site. Rest assured, they still exist, they're just hiding for now. And oops... this forum doesn't like HTML in the titles so it broke when I updated my profile. It's fixed now but thanks for pointing that out
14. Unfortunately, I don't see a way to change the time after which that line appears but I will look into making it smaller because you're right, the line really does stand out right now.
15. I'm not sure what it did with messages in custom folders, though I can assume it would be the same for sent PMs. Your sent PMs have all been mixed into your inbox. They're all still there, just not organized any more. This is because the new PM system treats PMs as threads and groups all messages together.
16. Did you have custom created folders before?
17. I honestly think that it's likely not a great idea to change it as it will definitely skew the accuracy of the who's online list. Sure, you can check the time of a user's last activity on their profile but that doesn't show up on the front page. As for preventing this from happening in the future, you have a few options. As already mentioned, you can simply check "Remember me" which will prevent you from being logged out (though won't keep you on the who's online list permanently). As you said you don't like using that feature though, I have a good middle ground for you. Most browsers have a privacy feature to clear all private data once you close the window. So, you could enable that feature, check remember me, and it will only keep you logged in while the window is open. This, of course, applies to all other sites as well though. Finally, you could always just type up your posts in another program or select all and copy before you submit to prevent you from losing them in the event this happens again. I think that that middle option is likely your best bet as you seem to be concerned about privacy anyway. I'm completely open to discussion here and I'd like feedback from others as well though. 18.
There should be more of such field that should be added modified as nowadays everyone has an account in Skype or Twitter or Facebook.
All three of those fields currently exist on your edit profile page. Skype is not built in to the vB profile system and as for the other two, just take a look towards the bottom, which is where all custom fields appear.
19.
A few months ago, I was all ready to start working on the template modifications we'd need after upgrading. But then when I went to download the upgrade, the log in info I have for the vBulletin.com members area no longer worked, so that put a halt to things. I PMed James about it but never got a response, so I don't know what's happening anymore. I'm still willing to do the template modifications. Harass James to get me the correct log in info if you want the upgrade.
I actually talked to James about this recently. He wasn't aware the login info had changed/expired/whatever happened to it and said he'd talk to Adam to get it straightened out.
20. They are indeed called visitor messages and they're a feature in newer versions of the vBulletin software which we'll have here by default should we wind up upgrading. The "page" you're referring to is the new member profile and has some other new features, in addition to a completely new layout, as well. You'll have to ask James about a possible upgrade though as I don't happen to know for sure at the moment.
21. Should be working for everyone again. Let me know if you see anything else that is broken (i.e. missing information from profile pages).
22. I think this is due to one of the changes I made when setting up the new profile fields. I'll have that fixed soon. Thanks for pointing it out.
23. Always glad to help when I can ^_^ Also, for reference, the Facebook field is designed to be used with the custom URL you can choose for your account (i.e. the jsmith part of http://www.facebook.com/jsmith). The custom URL is the preferred method, however, if you never chose a URL or simply do not wish to use it, the input to that box should only be after the http://www.facebook.com/ part the URL or your link will not work.
24. Done.
25. This was already answered [thread=60915]here[/thread]. Please only post one copy of your thread as posting multiple copies in various locations will not get you an answer any faster. Thanks, and good luck with your account!
