My second loss is upon me [strike]though my win record now stands at three days (assuming you can win again after you've lost once). Actually, the first I heard of this game was years ago so technically, was I winning all of this time I had completely forgotten about it?[/strike] Edit: After reading the Wikipedia article, I guess I have been winning for years. Oh well, so much for that.

Well, I guess I have no choice but to join the 215 other people who have lost (regardless of whether they said so or not) - "I lose."

Welcome to OtakuBoards, andreaxjean. We try to maintain a high level of quality here so please be sure to use proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Your post here could use some work so I'm just going to ask that you use the edit button to fix it up. I'll leave this thread open for now, since it may end up generating some good conversation. I'd advise that you read over the rules and FAQ before you continue posting though. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or any other Staff member. From here on out, this thread can be used to suggest and discuss any anime movies you find funny. After some discussion, Petie and I decided this would be better off in the Anime Lounge than in MM&TV. -Marsh
However, it may be best to return a token amount, and take the moral highground.
I was actually thinking this towards the beginning but what defines a token amount? She earned the money she was paid providing a service. If they choose to change the details of that service and then cancel the last two days, they are not entitled to any of that money back. While giving something back does look better for her, how much is enough to be fair?
She said I should think about how much money I wanted to give them, and give it to them along with the precise formulas and equations that led me to the decission.[/size']
Well, Extra Night + No Advance Notice = $0 back in my book. Of course, the final decision is up to you but really, they're just trying to turn their mistake into yours so they don't look like idiots in the end (at least that's the way I'm seeing it from what you've said).

I'm not sure why there's even a question here. Assuming your note was indeed as polite as this one (and I have no reason to assume otherwise), they just got mad because you called them on something they were hoping you wouldn't call them on. Asking you that night to come early wasn't fair and as you said, wasn't something you agreed upon. So considering the extra night you had to spend there with no advance notice, I'd say you're entitled to the last two day's pay. And just because I'm curious, and you don't have to answer this obviously, but what was your mom's initial reaction to the email?

We already have a thread dedicated to Japanese music, which you can find here. You can ask for suggestions of and discuss Japanese music of all kinds in there. In the future, please run a search and/or scan the thread list before creating a new thread. Thread closed.

This has been asked many times before. It's recommended that you run a search and/or browse the thread list before posting a new thread to see if your question has already been answered. Introduction threads are not allowed here because they generally don't generate discussion and tend to clutter things because of the number of new members there are. Instead, members are encouraged to introduce themselves in their first post. This gets a new member started right away by joining in on a conversation while still letting them introduce themselves.

Everyone, please put more efforts into your posts. As of yet, none of the posts in this topic have really met our standards. Please be sure to use proper grammar and punctuation, make sure your posts are on topic and contribute to the conversation, and if you have not done so yet, read over the site's Rules and FAQ. I'll leave the thread open for now, though I will be merging it with an older one about Avatar. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or any other Staff member.

We already have a Fall Out Boy thread, which can be found here. Please use that thread for any further Fall Out Boy discussion. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or any other Staff member. Thread closed.

First, Azarath, this is the correct forum for this thread. Had it been posted anywhere else, it would have been moved. That said, here's my take on The Simpsons: I really just don't like the show. I've never been able to see what people found so great about it. I've watched a few episodes here and there to give it a shot and while it had some funny moments, it just doesn't compare (in my opinion) to shows like Family Guy. So I guess I actually have a question for you: If you are a fan of the show, what is it that draws you to it?

Sequel of the Century! Pirates of the Caribbean 2!
Petie replied to The_Mix_Breed's topic in Noosphere
I'd like to direct everyone's' attention to this thread. Since we've had quite a few Pirates of the Caribbean threads in the past, Dragon Warrior came to me and suggested making one thread for all PotC discussion (think Star Wars 411). From this point forward, please use that thread for anything related to Pirates of the Caribbean. Now, while there is nothing wrong rules-wise with this thread, I'll have to close it to get the new one started. I would have just merged the two but because DW's post is more or less a directory, it needs to be at the top of the thread and merging sorts the posts in chronological order. I ask that you just continue any conversation that was happening here in the other thread. I'm sorry if this causes any inconvenience. Thread closed. -
You are nowhere near alone. The list of things my younger brother has broken, taken, given away, etc. is far too long to post here. I was never really able to figure out the thought process myself but I get the same reaction that you do - "I didn't do it!" And for the longest time, my parents bought it which meant I was out of luck. After quite a while (and many times being called selfish in not so pleasant terms), I was finally able to get my parents to see the light. From there, it was still a little while before I got to the point I'm at now though. Just because they now told him not to touch my stuff did not mean he listened. Finally, after many years, my brother has generally agreed to leave my stuff alone and I can go on using my things in one piece. So, my advice to you, Farto the Magic, is to just bear with it - it should eventually stop. That, and password protect your laptop ^_^

Akihabara, please make sure you explain your posts and keep them on topic. Your last post here does not really contribute to the thread. From now on, please put a little more effort into your posts. I'd advise reading over the rules and FAQ if you have not done so already.

lee123, please put more effort into your posts. As it stands now, your first post is not likely to generate much discussion. Try explaining why you find the show funny or what it is you like about it. That way, further posts will have something to go on. I'll leave the thread open for now but I ask that you edit your post to include some of the details I mentioned. I suggest you read over the rules and FAQ before you continue posting. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or any other staff member.

Just a quick note before any more posts are made: I don't want to have to close this thread twice so before you reply, consider Leon Fury's post as a good example of what is expected. You don't need to go on for paragraphs to be able to explain your choices but please include an explanation of how the song you post relates to your life. Discussion is also encouraged so feel free to comment on other posts as long as it is civil and constructive. What I'm trying to say is you can disagree but do it nicely. As for a song for me, I'm sure there is one but as it's almost 2:30 AM and I'm getting tired, it will have to wait until I can devote a little more time to thinking of it.

I got this game when I picked up my DS Lite and I've been enjoying it. It's nice to see a side-scroller again and the better graphics add a nice look. The combo of Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros. 3 also makes it pretty interesting to play. In terms of the new power-ups, neither really seems to serve a major purpose but they are fun to use. Being able to crash through good portions of the level or jump double (I'm estimating that) your normal height adds an interesting feel to the game. There is however one thing I don't like about the game. I can't stand that you have to beat a tower or temple or spend come coins to save the game. Save points were originally introduced because the cartridge did not have enough memory on it to do on-the-fly saves. This is not a problem any more so why can't we just save whenever we want?
Save on-the-fly is an unlockable feature but only after you beat the game. I really think it should just be there by default.
Other than that though, I really do like this game. It stays true to the original games with the level set-up and the Bowser on the bridge battles which is fun. Oh, and Charles, I love the DS to DS Lite comparison :)

Well, assuming this is an instant thing and no real training is required, I'd definitely like to be a ninja. It's always been something I thought would be interesting - being able to run on water and walls as well as have magic-type attacks. And Solo, ninjas do use swords as well (just not in puffy shirts). I personally have always been a fan of the katana (the Japanese samurai sword) and it happens to be one of the weapons a ninja would use. Take a look at Ninja Gaiden (Xbox) or Shinobi (PlayStation 2) for examples. I do love the way pirates talk but I think in the end, I'd prefer to be a ninja.

Hmm... I have no idea why that wasn't working. It seemed to be set up right. I went ahead and downloaded the image myself, re-hosted it at ImageShack, and then changed the URL in your signature. It's working now though I still can't see why it wasn't working before.

Export as HTML does just that. It will export a file laid out with a table which contains each of the images that it creates when you slice the layout. So, you should have one .html file (which you can edit if you need to - for instance, to just copy the table) and a bunch of images (the number changes based on the complexity of the layout.
-
You say you have Photoshop which means you have ImageReady as well. I realize this may take some time but your best bet to accomplish what you want in the easiest way possible would be to design the layout in Photoshop, import it to ImageReady, slice it (there's a slice tool which is pretty simple to use), and export as HTML. This will automatically create the layout for you. It creates quite a few images though so you'd have a lot of uploading to do. And as Morpheus said, host your images somewhere else, though I'd suggest Photobucket for this site since it lets you keep the normal file names (though ImageShack might too - I can't remember now that I think about it).

I picked mine up the day it came out after preordering it maybe two days before hand. I must say, I really like what they've done with it. The fact that the GBA games stick out of the bottom bothers me but I guess that's the price you pay for making it 33% smaller and 20% lighter (according to Nintendo). Interesting story though. I got mine, brought it home, popped in my newly acquired New Super Mario Bros. Game and wouldn't you know it? A dead pixel. Neon green and on the top screen (I didn't mean for that to rhyme). This drove me insane but not to worry - I called Nintendo that night (Sunday). My new DS Lite arrived today. Overall I'm very happy with it. It is a lot more comfortable, lighter, and brighter. Plus, I think it looks a lot better.

This thread has gone too far down hill to save but I think it had potential so Tical, please feel free to recreate. HarvardYay, if this is what I can expect from you in the re-created thread, you'd be better off not posting it at all. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions so trying to force yours on someone else just isn't right. And to both HarvardYay and Charon: Your argument in this thread went completely off topic. If you're going to debate in a thread, make sure it is civil and relevant to the topic at hand. In the future, please keep what you did here to PMs or AIM. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or any other staff member. Thread closed.
