1. In a favorites thread, it is very important as the thread starter to set a quality level at the beginning of the thread. That said, please add more to your initial post explaining why that is your favorite song. I know you're perfectly capable of a good post by just looking at your post in the "What's in your CD Case" thread :)
2. No, you will need to upload your banner somewhere online before you can use it. I'd recommend Photobucket or Imageshack. Both are free image hosts you can use for this. Once you have the image online, the rest is very simple. In your signature, just add the following code: [*img]URL to your image[/img] Remember to take out the * though or it won't work. Edit: I didn't realize he had already updated that thread. Oops... But while I'm on the subject, nice job on fixing up those rules, Retribution. It is much more clear now.
3.
I don't think it's fair to base a judgment on repetitiveness, but I guess that's just me. I understand that all you're doing is going around shooting things and such and it becomes boring and such, but if that's the case ALL games IMO would be consider repetitive. I guess that's why repetitions doesn't bother me.
Repetition doesn't generally bother me much and personally, I still had fun playing through the single player mode. Like I said, I liked both games so my judgement is not based solely on repetition. I was just saying that he had a point because your objectives never really change. Game play wise, of course it's going to be repetitive but maybe some different objectives (besides a couple of the levels, and throwing the elite into the mix helped in Halo 2) would help to keep you from realizing that.
4. Actually, to make matters worse, the grab she tried is not a difficult grab in terms of snowboarding. It was unnecessary and she was trying to show off (which is really part of the sport, though in this case it should have been avoided) and unfortunately, that cost her the gold. It was just a risk she didn't need to take.
5. Introduction threads are not allowed and there is no forum dedicated to introductions here. At OtakuBoards, members are encouraged to introduce themselves when posting to reply to a topic. This way, you can have your introduction and jump right into a discussion at the same time.
6. When it was fixed last night, it was a temporary fix. They could be finishing up the fix now or it may just be traffic issues because all connections are being routed to one server at the moment. Either way, just give it some time. It will be fixed soon enough.
7. If I read Adam's post right, things should be working correctly now though they may be a little on the slow side since they lost a server.
8. This thread doesn't really seem to serve a purpose. The rules of this "game" aren't clear and so far, I don't think anyone is sure what's going on. Please be sure to think things through a little more before starting up a thread like this next time. Thread closed.

Elfen Lied

Raquel, this is not the right forum to be discussing a specific anime series. These types of threads should go in the Anime Lounge. I would be moving it there but we already have an active Elfen Lied thread which can be found here. Please use that thread to discuss this anime. Thread closed.
10. Yeah, I sent an email a little while ago though I don't see it being of any extreme importance. It would also fix the same problem on theOtaku and the music playback on myOtaku sites though. Oh well, we'll see where it goes from here.
11. I'm with you on the single player campaign. While the story is interesting, it does get extremely repetitive. I think the real pull of Halo comes from its multiplayer, especially when Halo 2 is thrown in with Xbox Live. There's something about how the multiplayer games are set up that is just incredibly fun. It's hard to explain but I am one of many who have spent way too much time playing Halo 2 on Xbox Live in the past.
12. Hmm... I stand corrected. I finally remembered where those settings were and turned them off. Low and behold, the Jukebox stopped working and gave the same error. That really doesn't make any sense though as I don't see ActiveX being implemented anywhere. Maybe it's the way the script to run it is written? I've got an idea I'll play with and see if that's the case. And I've done what you said in the QuickTime install but FireFox still refuses to see it as installed. Edit: Okay so I went and tried it with my own script (which is actually the one I sent to you a while back Des) and it does work with ActiveX disabled. The only thing I have to figure out how to do now is make it work in Firefox. Edit 2: After playing around with my script a bit, I have it working in IE, Firefox, and even Opera. If you'd like it, send me a PM or find me online or something along those lines, though I believe it's Adam who will have to make the changes. Oh, and QuickTime seems to be working for me in Firefox now too so all is well. For some reason, it still doesn't work on OB though. It works anywhere else I try it, just not on the Jukebox here. There is one interesting thing I did realize though. You do need to have the Run ActiveX Controls part enabled but not because of the Javascript. It's because that option controls not only ActiveX but plug-ins, like QuickTime and Media Player, as well. It still appears to work without enabling the Scripting option though.
13. Nah, I think that Firefox is just a little iffy with Javascript. With SP2 installed, it would warn you if the script were trying to use an ActiveX control and more importantly, trying to install one. My problem with Firefox is that no matter how many times I try, it refuses to see QuickTime as installed, even though it clearly is. What did you do to get it to work (if anything)?
14. That Jukebox is simple Javascript. ActiveX shouldn't be required to make it work at all. I know mine works fine in IE, and I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with what I have those settings set to. You do however need to have Javascript enabled for it to work. As for Firefox, I've always had problems with music-related things in Firefox. It doesn't seem to like Javascript too much and no matter how many times I install QuickTime, it always tells me that I need to install it again so I've given up on it in Firefox. The only suggestion I have in this case is to use IE if you want to make the Jukebox work. Come to think of it though, I don't remember how to change Javascript settings in IE so the only thing I can say here is to make sure you have the most recent version.
15.
I?m sure there?s a way to have it re-direct you to the correct site, but it just seems so pointless to go to all that trouble when it?s already established.
I just have quick note to add to this. I was originally thinking you could get .com to redirect if you needed to but that would completely defeat the purpose of changing it to begin with. People would still type .com and never even notice the new extension.
16.
And personally, I'm kind of inclined to think that the OP is messing with us. But perhaps I'm just paranoid...?
I thought that too but I'm really not so sure. It seems like it really could be something someone would want to happen.
17. I'm not sure if you actually bothered to read the other posts in this thread. You cannot just make up your own URL. People use .com, and if it's taken, fall to .net or some other less common ones. They don't just make them up off the top of their heads. There are a set number of endings you can use on the web and elf and wand aren't among them.

quik question

You know, I actually thought it was a band though if you hadn't guessed yet, I obviously haven't heard of them. So either way, things could have been a little more clear. Heh, I have to agree though - it is a terrible name if it has caused this much confusion already.
19. Welcome to OtakuBoards Hyuga. There are a couple of things I'd like to address here. First, we already have a thread dedicated to L'Arc~en~ciel, which can be found here. Please use the search feature, or at least scan the list of active threads, before creating a new thread. If the thread you're looking to create exists (and has been posted in fairly recently), use that one. Otherwise, you're free to create your own. Also, especially when creating a new thread, please make sure you include some actual content in your post. Maybe you want to ask a question or even just explain why you like them - anything that will get a conversation going. For those reasons, I'll be closing this thread. I'd suggest you read over the Rules and FAQ to give yourself a better understanding of what is expected of you here. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or any other Moderator. Thread closed.
20.
You forgot to put in the new myOtaku username along with the ID number
I completely missed the myOtaku username field. Oops... Oh well, it's working now so all is well. To get the other link to work, I think you'd probably have to contact Adam or Justin. Oh, and Des, to get the myOtaku ID, go to the person's page and hover over (or copy the shortcut of) the add friend link. The number at the end of that link is the ID.
21. Hmm... well it was worth a shot. This is an odd problem but I think I realized what might be causing it. Chances are, his OB account ID is already used in the myOtaku database. If it can only be used once, both databases would need to be cleared of link information before you could try to link a different myO account to the same OB account. This is only an idea though.
22. Des, try this. Take his myOtaku user ID (302930) and manually insert it into the myOtaku User ID field of his profile. That could make it work, though it shouldn't have to be done like this.

quik question

I'm going to agree with Linkk on this one and ask you to re-phrase your question to give it some more meaning because right now, this thread is on the verge of being closed. Just add some more to your post - give it some content and explain what it is you're asking.
24. Just a quick warning to everyone - most of the posts in this thread have not really been up to standards. Please be sure to explain your choices and use more than a sentence when you post. If this trend continues, the thread will most likely end up closed. Now, to answer the question, I'll listen to almost anything. I've never really stuck to any specific genre because I like music from a bunch of them. My philosophy is really just if I like it, I'll listen to it.
25. I actually like Baron's idea on this matter. It would let both sides be happy (because personally, I like the read receipts). As mentioned though, it would appear that this isn't do-able yet. Maybe in a future version though. Otherwise, I have no problem just clicking Okay or Cancel (though I do agree with Sara that it should be Yes and No, not Okay and Cancel).
