Mouse036, while you have been here since January, this is still an introduction thread which is not allowed. The only purpose this seems to serve is to introduce yourself and advertise your site. Thread closed.

A) Which aspect of OtakuBoards do you find to be the most negative/confusing? There really isn't anything I can think of that I find negative that can be changed really. B) What is your favorite aspect of OtakuBoards? I really like the friendly atmosphere here. Whether it's just to talk or to get some help, there is always someone here and they're (almost) always very kind about it.

I'm going to have to agree with Stuart on this one. You can find almost anything you're looking for on EBay. If I remember GameShark correctly though, it uses a standard serial cable to connect. The only problem is you'll have is finding drivers and a way to actually transfer codes to it, assuming it can still be done.

I think the best fortune I ever saw in a fortune cookie would be one that my friend got. It said "Borrow money from a pessimist, they won't expect it back." I laughed for a while at that one. The problem is that fortune cookies do not contain fortunes any more. They try to tell you about yourself now - "You enjoy reading a good book." How is that a fortune? Oh well, they're still fun ^_^
And this post like a uhhhhh.........sux! What relevance does your post have?
Edit: Never mind, this has been cleared up ^_^ As for the controller, at first, I was a bit skeptical of it. The more I look at it and its attachment though, the more interested I am in actually giving it a try. I think this could actually be a really innovative idea with some nice results. I'm not sure if this has been mentioned yet (I didn't fully read every post) but I still think it's worth saying. If you turn the controller on its side (90 degrees counterclockwise), you get an NES controller - perfect for playing those NES games you can download with Revolution ^_^ Of course, it has a few extra buttons but I think you'll see what I'm saying from the attached picture I just threw together.

It's not so much a story but there is one time where I guess you could say I have a temper. It usually ends up showing itself in Halo 2 when something that is against every rule of the game happens anyway (cheating or not). For instance, when you shoot someone through the head with a sniper rifle (four times because somehow, the first three didn't do the job), they should not be able to continue running at you and end up killing you with a shot gun from 200 feet. I can get pretty angry if that happens a lot, though I'm a little better about it now.

YoriChan, please refrain from using all-caps in your posts. It makes things difficult to read and is actually against the Rules. Please be sure to read them, as well as the FAQ, (both of which are also located on the left) if you haven't done so already. Also, I don't really see this thread generating much discussion as you are just outlining the rules of a game so I'll be closing it. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or any other moderator. Thread closed.
It does come with one wired controller[/b']
The Core System does, the 360 main package comes with a wireless controller. Here's the breakdown on both sets. In my opinion, there's no reason to buy the Core System though because if you plan to upgrade, you do save money by just paying the $400 up front.
Xbox 360 (Premium Package): Console Wireless Controller Component HDAV Cable Composite AV Cable Hard Drive Play original Xbox games (Backwards compatibility - required Hard Drive) Ethernet Cable Headset (Wireless, I believe) Xbox Live Silver Xbox Live Gold 30-day Trial Premium Chrome Details Multimedia Remote (Limited time, from what I hear at GameStop) Xbox 360 Core System: Console Wired Controller Composite AV Cable Xbox Live Silver Xbox Live Gold 30-day Trial
All of the accessories mentioned in the Premium Package but not in the Xbox 360 Core System (with the exception of the chrome details) are optional accessories for the Xbox 360 Core System for an additional charge per item. Wired controllers will, obviously, work on the Premium Package as well. *Note: This information is quoted (with some minor additions from me in parenthesis) from an official Xbox 360 Guide that GameStop gave me.

I have had some experience in playing with modders before. My personal opinion on the matter is simple though. I don't mind when people modify things like the original Halo to have fun in System Link play. Sometimes, they can come up with really cool ideas and fun games to play. When it moves to online play though, it crosses the line from fun to out and out cheating. I can't stand playing with people like this because it ruins the game for everyone. Even when you know you're better than the person, there's nothing you can do because they're firing warthogs from their SMG or something of that nature. So, do I think all modders are evil? No. I just think it should be kept offline though.

Welcome to OtakuBoards YoriChan. I'd just like to mention that when you create a thread like this, it's a good idea to explain why you like 24 (or whatever movie/show/band/etc. you're talking about). This way, there's a better chance of a good conversation resulting. I will leave this thread open though so others may discuss the upcoming season. That being said, I originally thought that the show was over as they said at first that season four was the last season.. I actually just found out that it will be coming back though. I am now officially excited about its return. Edit: I'm not sure if this thread already exists. It won't let me search titles for the term "24" because it says it's too short. I did a quick scan of the Music, Movies & TV pages though and didn't see one. Just thought I'd mention that.

That really is awesome. Goddess, do you think you could send me that link?
I say stick Intelligent Design in the Social Studies classes, and keep Evolution in the Science classes. Both get taught and receive equal time in different courses. Wam, bam, mission accomplished. It doesn't get any simpler than that.
I agree here. Intelligent Design should not be taught in a science class. I think that what you said would work as long as neither side is saying "this is the only way we got here." Evolution and Intelligent Design should both be offered as possibilities and left to the student to decide which one he/she wants to believe. I think this would be the best way to incorporate both without trying to force a belief on people.

Welcome to OtakuBoards Belevimothan. Double posting is not allowed here. If you would like to add to what you said after you posted, please use the edit button and add it to the first post instead of making a separate post. You can still quote more than one message by using the [*quote=Member's name]...
(without the *) tags followed by just copying and pasting the part of the other message you want to quote. Also, you should take a look at the Rules and FAQ, both of which are also located on the menu at the left. If you have any further questions, feel free to PM me or any or the other Moderators. Edit: Fixed the double post.

I can agree with what's being said about RPG Maker 2 here. I have tried it before and trying to put things together on the PS2 is a huge hassle. And a USB keyboard is a must if you're playing it on PS2. Even if you're not doing much dialogue (we hadn't even gotten that far yet), there is a lot to be typed. Seeing as you downloaded it though, I'm assuming you got a computer version and therefore do not need to worry about any of this.

You can get it pretty much anywhere you can buy games.

I honestly don't see what's so hard to use about the DS. It's just a Game Boy with a couple more buttons and an extra screen. There's always (well almost always anyway) an alternate set of controls that don't require you to move anything with the touch screen and end up turning it into a selection system or even just a map. An RPG on a DS could be a good thing too. If the touch screen is used as a menu (think Final Fantasy VII style), you could easily navigate through it, change weapons, and use items without having bring up another screen. Also, during things like battles, the touch screen could also be used to input commands. Once again referring to Final Fantasy VII (because I'm currently playing it), you'd be able to select your action and then choose your target, just by touching them. I personally think that would be pretty cool, if the developers chose to do it that way anyway. And now, after reading a bit of that article mentioned in the original post, I see that they are implementing a similar system in this game.

James, I think the problem she's having is that the site's table is covering the background. I think she wants the background to show through instead of getting rid of it completely. Tammy, to do this, you need to use the value #XXXXXX in all three of the following fields in the Edit Styles section of your backroom: 1. Site Border Color 2. Inner Background Color 3. Menu Color If it isn't in all three fields, it doesn't work. Also, just to follow up on James' mention of not double posting, I see you added that post just a few minutes after the first post. If you need to say more after your first post (and before anyone else has posted), you can just use the edit button at the bottom of your own post to add more to it instead of posting again.

If you're talking about myOtaku, you can link your OtakuBoards account to your myOtaku account by going to you myOtaku backroom, clicking on OtakuBoards Connect under Miscellaneous, and entering your OtakuBoards username and password on the following page. For any other site (also including myOtaku), you can fill in the Home Page URL section of your profile and/or add a link to your site in your signature. If you want feedback on your site, you can always post in the Web Site Workshop (the sub-forum of PC/Mac). There, you can put up a link for your site and ask for help or just find out if anything needs improving. With all of these options, I don't think an advertisement forum/thread is really needed. Edit: Oops, put "and/or add a link to your site in your profile" instead of signature... It's fixed now.

People know as little about the price as they do about the specifics of the package. What it really comes down to is there is no reliable information about the price or what the movie comes with so it's really not safe to assume that you will have to pay $300 for it. We're assuming that there will be a limited/collector's edition set but that isn't confirmed either. A Japanese article just isn't enough to prove that it will cost that much in the United States.

I actually use WinRAR myself. Since I first got it, I haven't really used anything else. It does its job and does it well. It says it's a trial version and that you need to buy it after 30 days but as far as I can see, the evaluation copy never expires. You just lose access to a couple of features which aren't as important. Anyway, you can find WinRAR here: WinRAR Homepage
I tried 2 different dates and they both said that the system shut dwon incorrectly. I have found that it shuts down at 11:30 pm.
Hmm... the only thing I can think of would be to go back even further then. By the way, System Restore only restores system settings (including installed/uninstalled programs) and the registry. You will not lose any of your saved files though.
Hey, is there any free way to get zipped folders? I can't get winzip cuz' I have no money.
If you're running Windows XP, just right click on the file you want to zip, go to Send To, and click on Compressed (zipped) Folder.

Oh, okay. It was just a thought anyway. Looks like I'll be getting the actual program if and when this "Cliche" game is made. I can definitely see why it would be a hassle to make it stand alone now.
-
Yep. This is true, but to be able to play the game, you will need to download RPG Maker 2003.
I have used RPG Maker (multiple versions) before but never really put enough time into it to get anywhere. I'm pretty sure there's a way to export a game as a stand alone file though. Anyway, I'm sure there are more cliches that weren't mentioned there though it is a pretty good list.

That's actually most likely the problem. I'd try what Rene said first.

It seems that you don't have cookies enabled. That's the first thing I'd check for.
