1. A board that invites people to spam would not be good for this forum. It would subtract from the standards that people have come to expect from it. Also, in time, some members may start to think that spamming is now generally allowed and we would end up getting a lot of pointless responses to posts outside that board. This is my opinion anyway.
2. Safe mode would be a good idea to try first. I almost forgot about it. It loads into Windows running only the processes necessary for Windows to function. From there, you may be able to find the process(es) that are causing your problem.
3. I hate to say it but from what it sounds like, a complete rebuild is your only option. If you can copy your music and whatever else you want to save to a CD (if you have a working CD burner) or something else, go for it. But otherwise, you're going to end up losing everything. Unless we can find another option, that's really it.
4.
Ya know what, if you have a spare hard drive, I think it would be easier to install windows on your spare hard drive. Then, when windows is up and running, back up all of the files that you want from the old hard drive to the spare one and reinstall whatever programs you want. INCLUDING FIREFOX!! That's the fail safe way of fixing most computer problems and once you're done you can format the old hard drive and use that one as a spare. If you don't want to do that or can't, then I would suggest trying out some tech forum instead of an anime forum such as this one. You'll probably get a lot more help in a tech forum.
While this would technically work, it isn't worth taking that much effort on a small problem like this. Re-installation is a last resort when your computer is so far gone, there's nothing left you can do. As for the problem, I wish I could help you but I just don't have enough information to fully understand the problem. I will give it some more thought though.
5.
Also, If I'm not mistaken "spools.exe" is a trojan. So end that process.
You are correct. Here's a link if you want more information on the process: spools.exe I must have missed that one the first time around. But more importantly than ending it is deleting it. You should do a search on your computer's hard drive for "spools.exe" and then delete the file when you find it (make sure the process isn't running first).
6. Just go to Start, right click on My Computer, and click properties. The window that opens will show your system specs, including RAM.
7. I've never submitted a wallpaper before so I didn't know that. Heh, that seems like the easiest solution though ^_^
8. Hmm, how much RAM do you have because I really don't see anything that shouldn't be running there. The only thing I can think of is that Norton (I did a search on the un-known processes and found that they were made by Symantec) is taking up too much of your system's resources.
9. I don't actually know if you can do it from the backroom now that I'm looking at it. Here's a way to make it disappear though:
.panel { display: none; }
Just put that in your intro (or add it into any already existing CSS if you already have some CSS there) and no more avatar.
10. No, that is actually a system process. Maybe a list of all running processes would help though.
11. Awesome. I've seen arcades like that on other forums and it is fun so that should be good ^_^
12. I'd just contact one of the staff and tell them your mistake. They'd be happy to move it into the appropriate category.
13. Though just refreshing the page should be fine. Web browsers cache information for faster load times and a lot of times, that will result in you not seeing your recent update until the browser checks for a new version of the page.
14. Microsoft released an anti-spyware program that seems pretty good. There are a couple things to note though. 1. It is still in beta stages. 2. You must be running Windows 2000 or Windows XP to use it (full list can be found here). Microsoft AntiSpyware (Beta) Just click that link if you want to download it.
15. Well there is a way to stop all non-essential process from starting automatically and if that's what you need, I'd be happy to help. Otherwise, I'd do a Google search for the unknown processes and see if they're harmful. If they are, then try to delete them (you'll need to find them first - search the computer for the process name). In order to delete them, you'll have to keep them from starting anyway.
16. Just reading through this thread was enough to get me interested in the game. So, I just picked it up yesterday. Due to some internet problems, I wasn't able to start until today. I played for a little bit to check it out though I haven't really gotten too far. Anyway, my name is Swordsman Petie. I'm really not sure what to do at this point though you did say you were missing a primary warrior. My primary job is a warrior though I'm only at level 2 at this point. I'm really liking the game so far though. Edit: Changed the name to Petie of Ascalon.

Java Help

You're going to want to include the link tag in the document.write part of the function though. Otherwise, you won't be able to include different sites ads and they will always link to the same place.
18. I'm pretty sure she checked there already. The program needs to put in uninstall information when it is installed for any uninstaller to work correctly anyway.
19. Ah, well that presents a bit of a problem then. I did a little research and found out that System Restore was not introduced until Windows ME. There is a way to do it but it's a bit more complicated and would be easier to explain online than in a post. My screen name is Pete3911 (AIM) so IM me there if you'd like further help. Otherwise, you may just have to live with leaving that program there or manually deleting registry entries and program file folders. Sorry about that.
20. Okay well there is a better solution. It depends on how long ago you installed the program though. Anyway, here's what you have to do. Go to Start -> All Programs (I'm assuming default layout of XP) -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore. Click next (the correct option is already selected). Then, find the day before the day you installed the program on that calender. Click next and then next again. Your computer will be restored to the exact state it was in on that date. It will not delete files (like Word documents, images, etc) but will remove program files/registry keys that were created. And for future reference, you can protect yourself in cases like this by setting a restore point before installing questionable software. To do this, follow the above steps but instead select "Create a restore point" in the first step and follow the on-screen instructions. I hope this helps and feel free to contact me (PM/Email/IM) if you need any further help!
21. I would definitely say it's possible. My example of this would be the entire Madden series of video games. This example, while it isn't admiring and disliking a person still falls into this category. I have never liked the series itself at all but I'm still in awe at how well they put together the game and how well it actually does play. So even shifting the subject slightly from people to games (or anything else you want to throw in really), I would still say it's possible.
22. You have to get a third-party plug-in for Firefox to be able to play music. I think it brings up a page telling you to install QuickTime. Though I've tried many times to install QuickTime and it has yet to work in Firefox.
23. Well I have one specific thing in mind. I've always been a big fan of samurais and their culture and I've always wanted a real katana. I figure where better to go than Japan where it originated. So, probably the first thing I'd do when I got there would be to start my hunt for a sword maker that could hand make me a sword. I really think it would be awesome to have a hand made sword from Japan ^_^
24. I tend to agree with what everyone is saying here. The general consensus seems to be that the strictly modded boards add to the overall quality of the site which I agree with. I don't think taking a little time to look over your post is too much to ask. I've been a member here for a while now and I've yet to find a better forum anywhere. I've been a member of a few but this by far is the top on my list. Nice job to everyone involved in keeping it maintained!
25. While I've never heard of this game before, that quote definitely makes me want to buy it. First of all, a cash prize (potentially) for playing a game is awesome. Second, I love Easter eggs like that so it makes it even more worth it for me. I guess I should go find out a little more about the game now though.
