I think this photo I took depicts what I feel when I hate someone or something. Not like "I hate cabbage," but like... a serious hate. The white island in the middle isn't the point of origin of the 'hate,' but the last place it must go to finish infecting everything around it. Just like when you hate someone or something, it can bleed over into other things. What do you think?

I got Hero for DVD this Christmas. I thought the story was very well written, but some of the battle scenes needed some serious work. I loved how they didn't let you know the truth until the very end of the story, and how different things kept on happening in each lie. The battle scenes on the whole were mediocre. In my opinion, the worst one was the autumn fight. The color was stunning, but like Dagger already said, it felt too slow to be a fight between two martial arts masters. The wind drove me nuts ... I guess I just wanted them to duke it out without the gusts. The fight between Nameless and Broken Sword on the water was annoying as well. I didn't like how they kept jumping off the water, into the air, and back onto the water. Things got too repetitive. In my opinion, the scene could've been greatly improved by having them running at each other across the water... none of the flying stuff. On the whole, I enjoyed the movie, but not the ending. *sigh*. I know
why he didn't move when the arrows were coming at him, but something inside of me wanted a huge fight. I also didn't like how Broken Sword dropped his sword when he was getting attacked. I know that he did that to show her the alternative to fighting, but I wish it could've been different. I guess I don't like sad endings, even though the ending is 'technically' happy, as China is united.
Good overall. I give it an 8 / 10

How good is America doing in their foreign affairs?
Retribution replied to Morpheus's topic in General Discussion
Also, why must the soldiers stay? All we're doing is making the radicals madder. Their elections are coming up soon and I understand that they need protection, but, now in their democracy, shouldn't they be able to set up a police force or something? I see no reason why our soldiers must stay after the election. They will be there to keep the candidates safe and then leave so that he can set up a police force. Seems like a good solution to me...
Our soldiers must stay to stabilize the country, which we so violently rocked. We decentralized their government, and now Iraq is in shambles. We need to restore stability, peace, and order to these peope before leaving. We can't just go in, kick ***, and leave the mess for the people to clean up. We made this situation, now we need to be responsible and clean it up. It's not the Iraqi's fault that Bush didn't have a viable exit strategy... but that's for another thread. If we just leave after the election, the radicals will assassinate the elected leader. The US troops are the glue binding this country together. Their police force isn't as trained or specialized as our armed forces. Personally, I don't see how you think your 'solution' would work in any way. -
Party Over Here- New Years, Baby!
Retribution replied to Dragon Warrior's topic in General Discussion
New Years Eve this year my mom is hosting a party at the house. So she's been cleaning and all since erm ... December 20th. That's from 4pm to 7pm. Then my family goes to a party from... 7pm to whenever we manage to stumble out of the house, usually around 1 or 2 in the am. Good times, New Years is. The only thing is, it's the landmark before I go back to school. This holiday reminds me that I need to undust my books. Man... -

Hm... I don't think you illustrated these two people's pain well enough. You give me a few sentences, and then say they committed suicide. I understand why they did it, but it makes the poem feel incomplete. I also don't understand the whole 'original suicide' thing, and that I'm just following a trend. I don't understand. -
Azure Azure sea glimmers The sun's gold lines every cloud I wish you were here. The last line were inspired by Incubus' song "Wish you were here." I thought it fit perfectly with what I was trying to say, and it was 5 syllables! The only qualm I have with it is... is 'azure' two or three syllables? I don't even know how to pronounce it. Constructive criticsm is welcome! Most of my poems aren't even commented on, which doesn't help me improve. >_>

I think Santa Claus has magic. That's how he can do it. So there! lol. Anyway, children should definetly experience the fun of Santa. I think I knocked him at age 9 when my friends started to become skeptical about his existence. One of my brothers doesn't believe in him (just like me), another has become confused about his extistence, and the other two are completely enthralled in the mystery of Santa. Heh. I remember one Christmas, I set a banana and a cup of juice out for Santa. The note I sent him said that he ate all the other kid's cookies, so he needed a healthy snack. That memory always makes me laugh during the season.

I still don't see them. Could you double check the images? Oh well, I went to your deviant art, where the images are located. I liked the one with the glowy outlines. Very cool. The neon colors make him seem like you could hang it in a window in NYC, to pass off as neon lights. The second black and white one I didn't like all that much. It seemed a little bland/boring, with Manson such a small object on the grand scale of the picture. There isn't anything to look at. Everything seems to roll together, with no main focus.

The two red x's look great. Heh. The image links are broken.
jellyfish? your afraid of jellyfish? thats a little strange...
Yes. I'm afraid of jellyfish. I'm not afraid of them while I'm on land, but when I get in the ocean, I get cautious. If I see one, I won't swim for the rest of the day usually. I'm afraid because you can't see them til they're too close to avoid (usually) and they cause pain. Alot of pain.

Alex did not act like he was interested at all at the horridly boring lecture. This was an interesting turn of events. Another girl came to this school, and now he was unsure of which one he liked. He began writing on the note again. "New York. I've never been there before. I was born in Spain, and moved to England. To answer your question, I'm good. A little bored actually. Do you like this class at all? I sure don't. Anyway, if you have any questions, feel free to ask me anytime." - Alex Harrison He passed the paper to her once again. She looked at him, smiled, and read it. The teacher didn't seem to notice at all. She pulled out her violet pen, with scented ink, and began writing back to him. "I was born in London. I've been to Spain before. In fact, I've been to various places all over the world. This class isn't all that boring. Cheer up! I'll talk to you later." - Tala

I had a dream... It was wild. I was at the beach during the summer time, and I was body boarding there, having a great time. Then, these huge waves -- maybe 20 ft. in height -- started coming. Everyone instead of running away got in the water, and started to surf in it and such. Some people went back to shore, but most of us got sucked out in a riptide thing, and we were really far off the coast. Then, whoever had survived the riptide got washed ashore this tropical island. We decided to try to swim back, and most of us died, considering there was Man-o-war jelly fishes (deadly if not treated within something like 20 minutes) in the water. Then, a school of fish tried to save us, but got killed too. Only me and my friend survived and made it back. Strange. I have a serious fear of jellyfish too, but not because of this dream.

My family listens to all sorts of Christmas music during December, but during Christmas day, we do different stuff. My brothers and I all wake up at like... 5am ( I think 4am was the record) to open presents. Then, after that, we have to throw away all the wrapping paper which sucks. Then we usually have to clean up the house for Christmas dinner at my house, but this year we're having it at my aunt's house.

OOC: How does Tala act? I can only guess... I can edit my post if I missed the mark... I don't know what age she is either. Also, I missed posting for a whole period -- sorry. I guess I'll make up what I had then. ^.^ --------- IC: Alex had AP Physics third period. All the forumlas for work, distance and energy made his head spin. The teacher's voice was a droning monotone, and the room was rather warm; a sleep-conducive environment. He wasn't the only person nodding off either. In the middle of all the foggyness, were his jumbled thoughts. Should I have really saved Rae during PE? I mean... maybe I was acting like some sort of hotshot. Maybe she didn't want to be saved, or something like that. His head was in the clouds when the bell rang for fourth period. Thank God it's over. He picked up his bag, and shuffled out of the hot room, into the comparitively freezing cold hallway. His next class was Pre-Calculus. Another hell bringer. He slogged down the hall, wishing for lunch time and the relief it would bring him. Alex sat down in his seat in Pre-Calc., yawned, and took out his pencil and notebook. Stretching again, he glanced at the teacher, she was sitting down and writing in some grades. Then he looked at the doorway. Whoa... she's hot. I wonder what her name is. His thoughts couldn't be discerned by the expression on his face, and the only thing indicating his attraction was his lengthy 'glance.' He tore his eyes away, and looked back at the teacher, who called the girl over to her desk and they started talking quietly. Apparently, most of the guys in the classroom had the same idea as him, and most of them sat jaw-dropped at her beauty. "Class, listen up! This is..." She looked over at the new student, expecting her to finish the sentence. "Tala Midnight." She was quiet, but very confident and calm. "Yes. There's your seat," the teacher motioned to the seat adjacent to Alex's. Her seat was on his right side, and she was in the corner of the room. Tala walked over, and sat down in her assigned seat. The teacher began the class, as usual, and taught everyone. Almost everyone. Alex was madly scribbling a note to pass to her. "How are you?" -Alex It was pitiful he couldn't think of anything else to say to her... or more properly write to her. He looked at it again, feeling like it stood no chance on heaven or earth, and passed it over onto her desk. She looked at Alex, then read the note. ------- OOC: I guess you can make Tala react, since I don't know how she acts.

Tuna and cheese. Meh. What am I going to do today? Why won't Glen pick da fone up? Will I go to Andrew's house? I wish I had some music to listen to. I hope this Christmas would come faster.

Not Fair... everyone else has been outside of the country... except me. Technically, I've never been out of the States, but I went to the Virgin Islands, which were US Territories. I want to go to Europe, China, and Japan when I can. Flying by airplane rocks. Especially first class. (w00t!)

Last year, we got about three feet of snow, around January and we got a week off of school. Man that rocked. Anyway, we got an extremely light dusting on monday. Two hour delay for my brothers, I was off school anyway (w00t! no exams!). I LOVE to go sledding with my friends. Snow ball fights aren't that fun for me, because there's no point to it. You throw some snow, and hit someone. The end. meh...

OOC: I wasn't suggesting a time table, only a schedule, so that after the first day we can have a steady routine. And you skipped 2nd period? I guess I'll make it a flashback/narraration thing to recap it. And Blanko, you said that Rae could be in a different 2nd period class. I'm going to make it PE. ---------- IC: They were playing dodgeball in PE today, which was good. Alex was good at it. He looked around the gym, and saw everyone break into their own little cliques. All except Rae. She looked somewhat sick to her stomach, and downcast. What's up with her? Alex thought. The PE teacher (someone else can name him) divided everyone into two teams, trying to keep things equal, and sent them to opposite sides of the gym. The only thing was, the teams weren't all that fair; Alex's team was going to be obliterated. The whistle blew, and the other team collected almost all of the 10 balls, and sent a volley over. Most of the preppy, make-you-sick girls got out. Only a few more guys, Alex included, Rae, and another girl were still left. "Volley! Fire!" Some of these kids took the game to seriously, acting like they were in the military or something. The other side let the balls fly two flying directly at Alex. He caught one, and deflected the other with the ball he just got. They could've returned fire, if he wasn't the only guy left. The two girls were still in, but things were looking bad. "Volley! Fire!" God. They were acting all high and mighty, and Alex was going to get out this time... he knew it. The rubber spheres rocketed towards the three. Alex stood in between the two girls. Man... I could save myself. Or I could save one of them... maybe get a date. At least show I like them. But which one? Alex, acting quickly jumped in front of Rae, caught one of the many balls coming towards her, took the rest in his body, and threw the ball he caught towards the other girl he liked, deflecting the ball going towards her Damn... that rubber hurts! Rae's face remained rather emotionless, but displayed a very small 'Thank you.' Of course, he efforts were in vain. They both were out in the last volley. Oh well. "Excuse me, can I go to the bathroom? I really need to go." Alex wanted to get out of class before the bell rang. "Sure, no problem. See you." The teacher was rather agreeable. Instead of going to the bathroom, he went to the locker room, got changed, got his backpack, and walked out into the hall. Where's her locker again? I can't remember her locker number... Oh right. Over there. He scribbled another note, folded the paper, and dropped it into her locker. Then we went to the bathroom to wait. The period had only a few minutes left. ------ OOC: I sort of leave it open to whoever's locker I'm dropping the note into. Whoever wants it, have at it.

RPG next generation,School age detectives:the RP (it is based on my manga)
Retribution replied to piro-sama's topic in Theater
Although I'm not a moderator, you may want to heed my advice. First, read the rules of how to roleplay. You can start this RP in the Adventure Inn sub-forum. Please take time to make this RPG have a plot, and purpose. You want people who have never heard of this manga to know what's happening. Welcome to the boards. -
Well, I've had really really disturbing dreams, most of which I don't feel like sharing on this board either. I did have a strange, creepy dream though a while back which I still remember to this day. I'm like... six years old, and I hear a knock on the door. My brother opens the door, who is 4, and gets COMPLETELY (sort of ... erg...)
blown away by a shotgun. He's dead, and his blood is all over the threshold to my house. My dad runs to help and he gets blown away too. I run and scream... completely terrified and tell my mom they're a robber in the house. She somehow obtains a chaingun, and riddles the guy with holes. And she's crying and swearing and blasting the ***** outta his face...
It was horrific. Then I woke up, and always checked to see who was behind the door.

OOC: Maybe we should be issued schedules or something, so that we're not making up where we go. I think I'd make for a great plot device. Just my 2 cents. ------ IC: RIIIIING! The bell screeched, signifying the time when students could leave the first hell hole, and jump into the second one. Alex's second period was physical education. It wasn't really all that bad. It was mainly a time to use your physical energy, which calmed him down, let him get rid of the stress. Besides, it was co-ed; you can't go wrong with girls. "And that's all she wrote, people." That was Mr. Sanchez's way of saying, 'Good-bye,' but it wasn't very funny. Everyone picked up their books, backpacks, purses, and walked out the door. Several girls shyed away when Alex walked past them. He had seen other guys get shot down from thinking they actually liked him. He learned from other's experiences -- good or bad. "Thank God we're outta there," Alex said to no one in particular. As much as he enjoyed writing, he didn't like his teacher. Oh well. He got to the locker room, where they got changed into their PE clothes, so that girls wearing mini-skirts and high heels don't twist their ankle while running around. The PE teacher told them that it was indoor class, since it was still raining. The guys got changed before the girls, but stayed inside the locker room, talking about the Valentines Day Dance. Apparantly, about half of them said they were going to have sex with their girlfriends either during or after the dance. "Yeah right, you aren't gonna do it with your girlfriend, man. Most of you are just gonna say that cause he said it." Alex gestured to the guy who started the conversation. "Whatever. Shut the fuck up, Alex. You aren't gonna get any." The trash-talker was obscenely vulgar, but there was a beam of truth to his words. "Yeah, so what? Just cause I don't have sex with a girl means I'm not a guy?" "Basically." The arguement was cut short by the coach yelling into the locker room. "Come on out, or you're getting a lunch detention." The school was rather strict, Alex thought. Everyone walked on out of the locker room, and met up with the girls in the hall way, patiently waiting for them. The crowd of guys converged upon the girls, chit chatting about whatever struck their fancy, and they all went into the gym together. --- OOC: Could someone be in my class please? I want to make it interesting.

I thought it was good. I don't exactly understand what happened to Sango, either I missed something or I didn't see enough of the anime to understand. Is her brother imprisoned? I think that may be it. I found it rather short, and the description of people's emotions was a little flat. At least the story was interesting and easy to get into. Other than that, I don't see why it's rated mature, unless things get more ... mature later on in the story.
