1. There's no transition, no gradient. The words stand out, and the whole piece looks so isolated. The picture cut out of the right figure is very grainy. There's not even color coordination. It looks like you threw two pictures, then played around with the font, and added three lines going horizontal. Seems like a minimal effort. Adios!
2.
the guy is a vegetable...I wasnt caught, but it haunted me for 3 years, and I've always been ashamed of what I did. I dont think I can ever make amends for it.
Only 3 years? Wow. I think I would've commited suicide or turned myself in or something if that happened. Too much guilt... Whoa. Yeah, you definetly can't make amends for that. And on top of that lying to the police/hospital about what happened. His family is probably still wonder to this day what happened to him (if he did have a family). You shouldn't have ever... ever done that. The fact that he's a vegetable makes things a whole lot worse. If the story's true that is. Sounds odd... street fights? Oh well.
3. It seems you have a dark gift. I like it. ^.^ The whole sketchyness made it look really funny, as well as the great diaologue. "LOL!1!!1!!" "You're getting fat" "What should I do about it?" "Not live" Funny stuff.
4.
I hate them? they changed me? again, I?ve had my life changed before because of THEM! Forced? sometimes. Too coward to even look at them, too afraid. I can fight them but I won?t! I just won?t, I?m afraid.[/B']
No. You changed yourself. You decided to become a 'coward.' The least, the very least you could do is stand up for yourself, tell them the corny, cliche crap like: I'm not afraid of you. Yes. Try that. I'll guarruntee it'll escalate into a fight, at least a scuffle. The best thing is, is that they won't take you for a punk @** b****. (excuse the language) They'll actually think twice about screwin around with you again, knowing that you won't take the crap from them without resistance. Personally, I'm like you. I try not to fight. But when it comes down to it, if people do that kind of stuff, I'll fight them. Unless they're Arnold Schwartzaneggar, or will clearly beat the living bajeezuz out of me. My idea next time they mess with you: Throw some rocks back. Stand your ground. Give them the finger. Don't be afraid of jerks like these. I know I sound mean, but really, if you're too afraid to stand up for yourself -- or at least get outside help -- you really are a coward. Too afraid to stand up on your own behalf? Seriously now, if you can't stand up for yourself, you won't be able to help anyone else, defend anyone else. Personally, you should reconsider making this thread a 'venting' post. Get real. Get advice or something. I remember once when I was a freshman, this sophmore was pushing me around all the time. I fought back. And he stayed away from me. Forever. Another guy was shoving me around like trash in the locker room, laughing with his friends about it. I knocked the taste out of his mouth. Forever. He fell to the ground, and walked away. After that, he's been my pseudo-friend. Always acting nice to me. He really could've killed me in that fight, but he decided not to. I guess he valued that I stood up for my own tail in enemy territory. Stand up, and fight the oppressor. That's how America got started. --- P.S. Read your own avatar. I guarruntee you that Tim can kick major butt.
5.
also love to mix music. Nothing else brings me joy, than to rip apart several songs and string them together to make one really, really harmonic track.
I so bitterly wish I had the funds to buy a turntable, skills to pull it off, and the time. Oh how I admire you so... *sigh* Ah well. Being a DJ is one of those burnt out dreams. Just like being an astronaut.
6.
On a side note, I wonder how the mind reacts to losing a limb. The physical arm may no longer be attached, but the mind remembers what it is like to have an arm. Does it feel like the arm's still there, but is immobile? If the arm exists in the mind as a well-developed, permanent area of neurons, can we say that the arm no longer exists? Though it may not be physically represented on the person himself, it has a representation in the mind, and so continues to exist.
Yes, there's been research that shows that people with ampuatated limbs feel 'itchy' there sometimes and need to 'scratch' it. I think it's mainly because of the slight electrical charge humans have on the outside of our skin. And when a limb is lost, the electrical barrier field thing is still there, therefore it feels like we have it. And slowly, after a while (years), your body accepts the limb is gone. Interesting really. I'll have to go with Interactionism, mainly because of the sugar pill experiment. Where people were told they were getting medicine to fight their symptoms, and in most cases, it helped them somewhat - mainly just their mentality that the 'medicine' would work. And when your body is a certain way, you feel like that. If you look down alot, you might start to feel down cast, or vice versa. If you are in the sun alot, you might be happier than a person that's always been in the dark. It's got alot to do with chemicals, but yeah. Know what i mean? But then again, it's a whole 'nother can of worms to prove a mind exists. I guess it's hard... but yeah. It's got something to do with the mystery of the brain. And perhaps, one day, if we figure out all its secrets, we can prove that a certain process is dedicated to what we call a 'mind.' Until then, I'll keep my idea of a mind.
7. I enjoy tinkering with photoshop, photography... alot of artistic things. Writing floats my boat too. I used to play Warhammer 40k... but nobody in my area does anymore, so I stopped too. I also read manga, and manage my own website.
8. I didn't say it was... or that I expected them to do anything about it. Just how I could resolve it. Notice how this topic was moved into this forum. It originally was created in the lounge, because I wanted some advice.
9. My scariest moment was the day of Sept. 11th. I was watching the towers fall down... mostly shocked and thought it was some sort of broadcasted joke... like the war of the worlds. But I realized that this thing was forreal, and people were dying. Then my thoughts shifted to the passengers aboard the planes that crashed. And at the moment, I realized my father was flying to New York on a business trip that day, was due to arrive there in the morning (about the same time), and the given flight numbers were very close -- close enough for me to start worrying. I walked into a corner, and rethought everything, and rationalized that he must be dead. My vision started to fog up, and people asked what was wrong, but I said nothing. Then, 20 mins later, there was early dismissal. I asked mom if dad was still alive. She laughed at me and said yes, of course. I gave a HUGE sigh of relief. For 20 minutes, my father had been dead. It turns out that if he had bought his tickets maybe a day ealier, he would've been killed. I had another scare when my dad got a catscan for his high blood pressure. The doctor decided to do it, just to be safe. It turns out they found a growing cancer tumor somewhere in his gut (either his liver or kidney -- I'm not sure). So they caught that before it was too late. They gave him a small puncture in the skin, and the most skilled doctor in the world for this proceedure operated on him at Johns Hopkins Hospital. For a while, it hurt for him to sit up, laugh, etc (anything involving abdominal muscles). But he lived, and he's healthy now. Those two events were huge shockers. So maybe my Dad's a cat. 7 Lives to go. And Rin... whoa. That's insane. What was your father's problem? He sounds like he was really really pissed at the moment, and had SERIOUS anger management problems. Killing puppies? My god. Is he still alive, and if so, how do you treat him now?
10. I've never used a(n) Ouija board before, and I've seen one what, twice in my life? I've always wanted to see one in action, and maybe try it myself. I just want to see if I could try to be completely still, and keep the cursor thing from moving at all. Oh well. They are a load of crap. Maybe tarot cards are a different case?
11. C&C would be appreciated. I know, it's not that good, but I had... zero inspiration. And the stuff I tried to do didn't create 'harmony' in the picture. Therefore, I have a major photoshop disaster. I sort of wanted to keep the music notes intact -- not blurring them up too much... but it's too late. Capturing the essence of the Harlem Rennesiance(sp?) is hard, right? Oh well.
12.
...used it on quite a few occasions. But he said he'd pay me back with his next pay check...
Number one, the first warning light blinked on when he used it before... on quite a few occasions. Tell you something? Yes. It means he'll probably do it more later... and do you want to take the chance that the amounts will be really significant? And the second light went off when he said he'd "pay you back with his next pay check." I've watched the corny law shows like Judge Judy before, but it actually pays off now. This translates into: Caution - arguments ahead. Will you trust that he will pay you back, and not do it 'later?' Will you trust him when he's stolen from you before? I think not. If it were some stranger, you wouldn't even be posting this. You'd be in court so fast... but it's your brother, so you hesitate. Don't. It may be harder, but you have to. Your husband's got the right idea. He doesn't know your brother as well as you do, therefore he could make a less biased decision, and from what it sounds like, very quickly.
13.
All of this is over the amendment(sp) on the separation of church and state. Can anyone tell me what the intent is of that amendment?
The intent of this amendment is so that we remain true to our Constitution. I'm not sure if you know this, but our constitution allows religious freedom, therefore the views of the Christian church don't have to be shoved down anyone's throat. What if you were a Muslim, and your view conflicted with a law that was passed? What do they do then? Obey the law, and break from religion? This separation is made so that doesn't happen, and everyone can worship or not in peace. What about the abortion law? What if your atheist, and you don't think that life begins at conception, but the gov't does, therefore the law is passed? Sucks, don't it? On the other end of the spectrum, if you are Catholic, and you do think that it does, the way you can continue with your religion is just not to have one. While they don't like other people having them, it's America, therefore the law would be unconstitutional, because it conflicts with our freedom of religion by having laws that conflict with religions.
Is someone going to misunderstand my post? :} LOL >
No. Just... No. :nono:
14. *sigh of relief* Why, thank you so much! I think you were right on the money about a false love -- something like a gasoline rainbow looks great, but it's also fake. Although... I've never really loved someone like that.
15. Cargo pants or cargo shorts -- Generic long sleeved shirts, Old Navy/ Quiksilver shirts. Adidas shoes. How's that for generic?
16. Whoa. That was an uber pwnd. (lolzorz) Not saying that you are wrong Siren, but was all of that necessary? You put your point across very well, but it was ... a little to harsh? But Lady_Rin, Siren does have a good point.
17. The Joker is my least favorite male villain, mainly because he's so... cruel. But acts like he's nice by joking about killing people, how to kill them, how they feel while they're being killed, etc. Besides, who could kill
ROBIN?! And several of them on top of that
. Note: If you know anything about Batman, the spoiler isn't a spoiler, but it never hurts to be safe.
18. I'm a Protestant Christian, and my faith isn't as solid as a rock, but it's still there to say the least. I believe that all religions are correct, as long as you try to do 'good,' attempt to 'love thy neighbor,' and try to live a good life. Religion, really, is a human invention, as stated before. All religions are different due to geographic, cultural, moral differences. Some extremely early religions worshipped the sun, and why not? It lets your food grow, keeps you warm, lets you see, and it never lets you down -- always rising everyday. It even 'magically' hovers in the air. Other religions held water in high respect -- especially in desert religions. Water keeps you alive, keeps your plants growing, but its also rare, and therefore very precious.
19.
If we're comparing Perfect Capitalism and Perfect Socialism, then, it's really a toss-up. In a perfect Capitalist society, everyone is hard-working and can achieve success no matter what; in a perfect Socialist society, everyone is totally equal, hard-working, and good-natured. In perfect conditions, they're both pretty nice. I'd go with Perfect Socialism, because Capitalism is still founded on competition, while Socialism is not.
Nonsense mah boy! Competition is what keeps society moving ahead, makes technological leaps, and making people work harder. Without competition, prices of things would skyrocket, because there would be no other company to keep the price down. Without competition, people would grow complacent of their successes, rest on their laurels, and not try to better their selves. On a personal level, in communism, there is no personal identity. You do things for the greater good of society, not worrying about yourself. I mean, it does sound good, but I also want a certain degree of individuality -- one that is no present in this government. Besides, communism never would work anyway. Even in a hypothetical universe. Because that would mean, that the leader isn't truly a human ... they may look like one, but they certainly wouldn't act like one. For A Perfect Communism to be pulled off, the leader would have to be completely selfless, looking out for everyone else, etc. But humans aren't like that, and power corrupts, therefore communism is a bad idea. Perfect Democracy on the other hand wouldn't work all that well either. You would have to vote on EVERY SINGLE ISSUE. Whether or not to pass a certain rule in a school, whether or not abortion should be legal, whatever the case may be. Because there is no representation of people, every minor issue would need a vote to be decided by the entire nation. This means that things wouldn't ever get done in time, like a declaration of war, or a bill to feed the homeless or something. I think that communism is a good idea, if it's perfect, and if you dont mind being a number. I mean, even people's PAY is equal. Holy crap. That means that a doctor who worked his *** off in college, medical school, etc. still gets the same pay as a cashier at McDonalds. That right there is complete crap. (IMO)
20. I'll try to do that. Right now I'm supposed to be typing an essay, but after I get some done, I'll release the camera-ness. EDIT: Well, I'm being lazy today, so sorry Dyne, I'm not gonna get around to getting the original pictures... BUT! I did take some new pics... they were all in my yard. I hope you all like them. And they aren't as large this time, so I'm going to post the regular images here. Red Berries in my back yard. Maybe they're poisonous. Time is a one way street. (It's bigger, so go to the URL.) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v294/mechinfinity/parking.jpg
21.
*chuckles* you are so loving this.
Yes I am. ^.^ I guess going out to lunch with a girl wouldn't be too bad if any lived close by, and it could happen 'spontaneously' and not look like a date. Since all the girls I know live far away, I'd have to plan ahead of time, ask her at school, make arrangement. *sigh* It would be really bad. :( Darn my neighborhood.
22. Mods, I'm not sure if this is the correct place for this. You can move it if I was mistaken. Has anyone found someone ripping something? My site splash page has been ripped by: http://www.ragnarokrealm.com and my site was www.mechinfinity.tk, as well as http://zerophase.vze.com/ banner.
23. Who said people dream in first person? And if we do, there's no way there can be a 'collective dream world' because humans don't have psyhic ability. Here's something stranger. There once was a man who went to sleep. He dreamt he was a butterfly. And in that dream as a butterfly, he fell asleep and dreamt he was a human. Then all of the sudden, someone shook him in 'real life,' awakening him from both dreams. What troubles this man is that... is he still in the butterfly's dream, therefore making him a butterfly? Or is he in the 'real world,' which is only another dream? BTW, this is a chinese tale, and the Matrix took this and incorperated it into some of the story.
24. The wealth of knowledge... ah yes. Too bad I'm too chicken to ask a girl out, and girls probably hate that. A guy who doesn't ask. I guess most girls are old fashioned -- no shame in that. Ahh well, I don' think I'll need this information anyway, considering the girls I think like me already go out w/ someone else or like someone else. Curse my bad luck!
