1.
Here's a solution: The most debated part of the land is Jerusalem, right? Well, instead of fighting over who gets Jerusalem or not, simply turn Jerusalem into a mini-country of itself. It wouldn't be controlled by the Jews (who'd still have control over the state of Israel) or the Pallestinians (who'd still be the main force in all of their current countries), but it'd be a place of itself, where people of all religions could come to live and pray at their holy places without any concrete government. The people who live there perminantly could chose to either be a citizen of Israel or one of the Arab countries and obey that country's laws but still live in Jerusalem. Wouldn't that solve everything?
No, sorry EVA, it wouldn't solve everything because the argument would still exist about who would get to control the piece of land. The Palestines or the Israelis? You said it yourself its an either or situation. I think each religion thinks its their own promised land, therefore they don't think they have to share it with anyone -- so why would they comprimise what is rightfully theirs anyway? My answer to this, is that if it is truly your religion's promised land, your Lord will deliver you from your trials and eventually give you what you deserve. It may not happen in our lifetimes, but if you think it is actually yours, it will come. If it does not, it wasn't yours in the first place. And Lady Rin, I think Ranger's right. You did get a little too worked up over this. This is a heavy discusion, and not talking about it or complete pascifism won't solve it. People's minds don't work as logically as yours as far as the anti-war thing goes. This thing is a culmination of religion and politics, and both sides don't want to forfeit their homes. And how is MSNBC or CNN more biased then Al-jezzera. You might as well read the past explainations of this somewhere in the above text. I feel like a broken record. People, please consult the FACTS before pulling out some complete crap and acting like it's true. Like the Jews not having to pay for their homes. As for me, I already have my mind made up.
2.
I just got one problem with this 'end' of the world prediction' of yours. First off, if we're talking an 'end' of biblical proportions, humanity, dumb, stupid, insignificant race that we are, won't even have the luxury of running around screaming our heads off about it. Moral is: Don't bother trying to 'repent', because in the end, you'll die, go to whatever 'afterlife' you have destined for you (if there is an afterlife), and that'll all happen so fast and unexpectedly, you won't have time to even think about reducing yourself to any more of a lower-life-form than you already are (i.e. said screaming and running). We deserve to die, and I'll be waiting for you all at the gate to the afterlife, so I can point, laugh, and throw pikachu plushies at you.
ok. An apolcalypes of biblical proportions we will, in fact know that our time is up. In the Bible (which I assume you mean by biblical), revelations is full of strange allegories and symbolism, but the point is that there going to be ALOT of different things happening before the end. We will know that the end is near, due to the things described in the book. I could get into detail, but whatever -- and humans aren't stupid. You're one of those people who look down on yourself and your own human race. Go Humans! w00t! And the after life thing you speak of? I can't argue against it, as I don't know what'll happen after the end, only my faith. ::shrug:: But I don't think I deserve to die. Why would I? Why do you deserve to die? I think your generalizing the whole human race as pillagers, destroyers of nature, killers of all things. You may be right that SOME of us do that, but SOME of us don't. But if you think you deserve to die, go ahead and think that. You have your own opinion. Heh. :)
3. Hehe. Reminds me of those elementery school days of playing matchmaker. Ah... the nostalgia. Anyway. I think you said that this guy doesn't like your friend. First of all, you need to do some serious recon on him, and see if he likes you back enough to go out with you. If the answer is no... well then bail out and stop reading this post -- If yes, keep on reading. If you are still reading, that means that he likes you, and you should seriously tell him that your friend likes him, and ask him if he could tell your friend off VERY subtly, but with NO hint that you put him up to this. I'm serious. Don't act any differently, or be seen talking to him alone by gossipers or your friend, or else the jig is up -- she'll acuse you of doing it, and your friendship will be damaged. (Hint: You might want to just call him -- no chance of being seen then.) If you haven't been seen, good! And if he actually did this, much better than good! This means that your friend will have something to tell you. Probably that she just got told off subtly by her crush. While this is really mean, it gets you want you want. Caution! Be sure not to put the moves on him too soon after her rejection, or else she'll be UbEr pissed. Let her simmer, maybe for a week or two -- before moving in for the 'kill' heh. OR! You could just put the moves on him, screw your friend and hope she'll cope. If she doesn't forgive you, you didn't need her as a friend anyway, someone who can't forgive or always holds grudges. OR! Acknowledge what happened to the last couple who were actually madly in love at 14 -- Romeo and Juliet -- and see what happened to them. Dead.
4. Yes, CS pwnz and ownz PSP. Simple and plain. I made some stuff with it, mainly abstractions, and it is quite easy for a newbie to pick up.
5.
. I like "feminine" bodies, .... so I guess... Latinas! Ole! :D
Amen to that. w00T! Go latin girls. *hem hem* Ok. Back to my post xD Let's see. Looks - Face - Bodily structure (about average weight/height) - The yeahs. - The Oh Yea! Personality - Funny. You need a sense of humor, and smile alot. No one sad all the time. =\ - Interesting/Intelligent. I don't want a stupid girl who thinks looks only will get her by. Nuff said. - Understanding. I want a girl to understand where I'm coming from, and know when to leave me alone, as well as when to talk to me. Maybe also sympathetic? - Reflexible. And no, not physically :). I meaning, things aren't always about her, and she won't get pissed if something really does come up during a date or whatever. I don't appriciate it when a girl gets all bent out of shape when something genuinely more important comes up (family emergencies, school, etc) - Forgiving. When I truly screw up, I want a girl who can see that I'm truly, truly sorry. She can still dump me if she feels like that's the only way, but if you can't forgive, you can't be with me. - LIVELY! Maybe a girl who wants to go places, do fun things, try new stuff, and isn't always reserved and unadventurous. You gotta branch out sometime.
6. IMO, I think that a finger (particularly your RIGHT INDEX) being lost would hurt more than a child birth. Mainly because I watched my mother birth my brothers, and sure, there was alot of blood and screams, but a finger being... gone? And then amputated. Good gracious... ouchie! Well, my pain was when I was brining my bike back in from a ride, and I picked it up to carry it up the porch's stairs. I lost my grip, and the gear sliced into the back of my right leg, just above my heel. I think it missed my tendon by millimeters. I pulled it out of my skin, and continued to go up the steps with it in my grasp. Again, the sucker slipped, and cut me in the same area, only this time it made an X shape. And again, it missed my tendon, by what I'm guessing is measured in millimeters. I didn't feel the pain until I put my bike away and looked at the wound. Then it hurt... yes it did. I had to bandage it up, and it hurt to walk, or even flex my ankle. Meh. I'm alrighty now.
7. Alchemy was the ancient science of turning some sort of metal into gold. Needless to say, it's outdated. My dream job would be the greatest science fiction writer out there. That or be an astronaut.
8.
So if a suicide bomber is a terrorist, why aren't the Israeli soldiers?
Umm... Let me think. Oh yes, I think someone already said that a suicide bomber goes to a crowded bus stop, market place, or any other public gathering, and lets his dead man switch go. Those are terrorists. An Israeli soldier, while still not a hero, follows rules of engagement, which means they don't seek out crowded bus stops and open fire. They are fighting to get the Palestinians away from them, to try and save lives. What I think we have here is a vicious cycle. This is how it goes: Past arguments -> tension -> suicide bombing / flaring tempers -> Israelis defending themselves by attacking back -> Palestinians dying -> children growing up bitter, and some eventually become suicide bombers (loop to suicide bombing step). Um... Let's see. I think this source at http://www.masada2000.org/historical.html says that:
On May 14, 1948 the "Palestinian" Jews finally declared their own State of Israel and became "Israelis." On the next day, seven neighboring Arab armies... Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Yemen... invaded Israel. Most of the Arabs living within the boundaries of the newly declared "ISRAEL" were encouraged to leave by the invading Arab armies to facilitate the slaughter of the Jews and were promised to be given all Jewish property after the victorious Arab armies won the war. The truth is that 70% of the Arab Palestinians who left in 1948 ? perhaps 300,000 to 400,000 of them ? never saw an Israeli soldier! They did not flee because they feared Jewish thugs, but because of a rational and reasonable calculus: the Jews will be exterminated; we will get out of the way while that messy and dangerous business goes forward, and we will return afterwards to reclaim our homes, and to inherit those nice Jewish properties as well. They guessed wrong; and the Arab Palestinians are still tortured by the residual shame of their flight. Their shame is so great because in their eyes running from Jews was like running from women. So much for the blatant lie about Jews throwing out all the [Palestinian] Arabs!
You read it. That's my argument.
9. Hey. I decided to make a fellow fan in need a banner. I hope you like it, but I won't be offended if you decide not to use it, as you didn't specify any pictures. Peace.
10. Look. The Palestinians need to get off the Israeli's land. They were there first, and the Palestinians can be bitter about it, but it still doesn't change the fact. Palestinians say that their holy book says that this is their promised land. Same goes for the Christians (the crusades), and the Jews! Get over it! Just because your book says that the gaza strip is yours doesn't mean that you get to evict everyone else living there. The Aljazeera thing. Good god, it just opened up my eyes on how biased it is. I can't believe that stuff. We used napalm? Yeah right. Maybe the wall is a good thing. Although, the problem is that there is no drawn line of palestinains here, israelis here. They are both mixed in together, and a wall wouldn't do much good, unless you told people to move to their corresponding side. And the nuke thing is absolutely sick. Why would you want to kill innocent children and civilians mixed up in a senseless war? The Disneyland is a good idea. If suicide bombers didn't level the place. And Arafat did need to die. He was an obstacle to peace in the middle east. (why is there so much fighting over there? Iraq, Israel, Palestine, not to mention all the horrible, tyrants in the general africa/middle east area.)
11. Well, my view on death are very mixed up and backwards, but I'll try to explain them as best I can. First, I believe in heaven and hell, therefore if you were sinfull and wicked, you go to hell, and if you tried to live a good life, you go to heaven. I also believe that all the religions are the same religion, only with cultural differences. For example: Christianity and Islam are different because they were developed in different parts of the world, where people had different social standards and moral ideas. These religions reflect the general views of the people. Maybe you didn't understand that, but oh well... Next, I'm afraid of death, mainly because it will mean that I will stop living. I think if someone were to put a gun to my head, would scream and cry like a little girl, not close my eyes and accept my fate. It holds too many unknowns. Is my religion right? Did I live a good life? Is there even heaven or hell? Personally, I can't imagine an end. I can't imagine an eternal existance in heaven before I was born. If there is no place to go, what will it be like? Will I still have my spirit? Too scary for me to think about. It's a jump into a black, endless void. I envy you who are ready to die, but I don't understand why people think death is such as wonderful adventure , or just a phase of existance. Strange to me and my relgious beliefs. Heh.
12. Um.. what is the video of? I can see some missle like things being launched at the beginning, and then there's blue explosions. What happened? Other than that, it looks very cool. I especially like the ... abstract feel to it.
13. Thank you Freud! I really am a photoshop noob. I started using it about three weeks ago, so I'm still in the uber-n00ber classification. I read tutorials, get an understanding of how things were made, and combine the concepts along the way. And I will try to sharpen the text on the word Nova. I was only going for a glowly feel though, so it might not look right. Any particular pixel fonts?
14. I dunno. If you could recommend some fonts for me to use, I would gladly edit it, but the fact of the matter is, I'm a photoshop newb, therefore all my font choices are by mistake. Any names of GOOD looking futuristic, techno font things would be great. Other than that, I'm sailing blind. And I also think the Nova banner is better.
15. Let's see. Bad habits. Chew my finger nails Complaining about labor Staying the computer too much I'm sure there's other ones, I just don't recognize any more.
16. Souls have no mass. Therefore your theory is gone. If souls had mass, they would be able to be found within your body. Besides, hell doesn't have to follow our laws of physics.
17. Well, when it depends on what kind of stress it is. If there's alot to do, I don't relax, I just do it, complain a little bit to vent my frustration, and finish the task. If I'm worried about something, I tend to slow my breathing down and feel my heart -- counting the number of beats the tick by. Sleep doesn't really ease the stress. It's a quick fix, a temporary solution because when I return for never land, it's right in my face again. I suppose there's more types of stress, but I won't bother to talk about all of those.
18. It would be exothermic, but since hell isn't in the universe, it might not follow our laws of physics. Heat always goes from hot to cold, therefore it would warm up whatever is not warm, making it a reaction giving off heat. Then again, you might want to think if hell is a physical place at all, rendering this question void.
19. Quite alright. I don't hold it against you that you don't like my art. Tis your opinion. I amended the "Fade" to "Nova." Maybe that suits it better. Anyway, I guess I'm back for more punishment here, with a new banner. How do you like it?
20. I like the out of focus room and the charcoal looking wall and bucket. The time warp thing looks hilarious, like he's trying to not get sucked in. The other pictures of you look like they would belong in a family photo album, not selling or anything. ::shrug:: maybe that's what you were going for. The pictures of the people look amateurist? Forgive me for my lack of vocabulary.
21. Wow. It's been several months since I posted on this board. Time to get the dust out of my ears and such. *squeek squeek* Constructive criticsm would be great. So. How you like?
22. Thank you firstly, Dagger for defending the grammer and punctuation. Fortitude is a virtue. Now, Domon, I'm glad we have someone in here who actually can appriciate more than just SEED. Most people who don't like Gundam Wing (in my experience) just don't understand its politics. Sad as it is, but people don't like things they can't grasp. Maybe this isn't some people's case. Wing was sheer art. As for SEED, I've not seen much of it, but from what I can see, it looks great. The only thing that bugs me is that it might be a little too slanted toward female audiences, hence the dripping romance, drama, etc. The animation is sheer genius, as it looks as if I'm watching it on plasma. Crystal clear depiction. Now, on to defend Universal Century. For those who don't know what this is, run, don't walk to your local anime bootlegger (heh), and buy out the whole UC series. This is may be costly, but you need to be familiar with your roots. It's like running before walking. After that, honor Tomino's genius, along with the other mecha forrunners who made the production possible, and made it the corner stone of nearly every AC series, save G Gundam. Mobile Suit Gundam also is the beginning of a war far too complicated to explain here. Do some research. Again, much thanks to ardent defenders of Gundam, and all Mecha alike.
23. Its good, but a little bit empty. Add a backgroud or something. Maybe extend the background onto the table, so that there is a little big going on. Overall a good layout. You might want to leave some space for a banner, if that is your plan. Like I said -- good. I'd give it 7.75/10 (he ehe)
24. Well, this is my matrix icon. Tell me what you think about it. Constructive criticism and compliments are appriciated!
25. The allusion (I'm guessing) is 'the eyes are the windows to the soul,' and his eyes look empty. Thus, I can at least conclude that he might not have a soul if the windows are empty. In any event, the avatars are really good, but I don't like the one where the person's eyes are all black. It looks REALLY creepy, but maybe that's what you were going for. Good j - o - b.
