Art Layers, Masks, Colors... So confusing !
Retribution replied to cunimimi's topic in Creative Works
Hey, cunimimi. If you could elaborate on what problems exactly you're experiencing, I could walk you through. But as it stands, go to www.pixel2life.com, and on the left navigation bar click on "Photoshop." It should allow for you to search for tutorials. I hope that helped. -
What magical pizzas do you eat that are healthy for you?
Pizza is bread, with cheese and tomato sauce on top. There's plenty of pizza that's healthy, just not anything from Pizza Hut or Dominos.

I'm about 75% African American and 25% Scottish. My father is 100% African American, while my mother is 50% African American, 50% Scottish (white, whatever). While it's tough to trace my African American routes past the Middle Passage, it's a highly educated guess my family (mother's side) is from Madagascar. I can't exactly recall where my father said his side was from. Yep, my mom is mixed because my grandmother's parents told her "not to marry that ******," but she did anyway, and had my mother and uncle. I'm glad she did - living pwnz.
I'm just doubting that this current system isn't working for this event.
Why don't you give it a chance? The current system hasn't even been working for 48 hours, and yet you can say that it's not working for the event. Give it some time; perhaps you need to leave the computer for a longer period of time. I don't want to sound mean, but you probably think it's taking forever since you have plenty of time to sit around and browse OB. I have soccer practice now, a job, and school starts in a week. Needless to say I have plenty on my plate. ^_~

Front: Well, I'll start with the typography. "Social Butterfly" is more prominent than the club name, or "Labor Day Weekend," so it's really overpowering everything there. Make it smaller, or rearrange things, but that needs to be changed. The stock could be better -- I understand that looks are opinion, but you might want a *cough* hotter girl. As for the design, she feels out of place, probably leaning the wrong direction too. I dunno. And those bars on the left side would've looked good in theory, but now they look impeding for some reason. Sorry that I can't really pinpoint what's throwing this a bit off. Back: The pictures at the bottom are a good idea, but they're just pictures of people sitting around. Why not get shots of people dancing in the club and stuff, to show the life of the club? Anyway, the typograpic placement is pretty good, until I get to this red bar. I'd seriously take that red bar out, or make it significantly smaller -- I have to turn my neck to the side to read the rest, or at least concentrate harder. People don't like that. So give them what they want, lol. You might want to change the color of the bar from red to something lighter, so it's a graceful change from orange to yellow. Get me? Probably not. Well, good luck with these.

Rafael gritted his teeth, but more blood managed to drip through them. He coughed, and his back was riddled with an unbearable agony. "Ah... p.ainn..." he managed to mutter. Senka and Sasurai looked shocked, but hoisted Rafael to his knees again. Fighting to remain conscious, he heard even more bad news. "Oh... that one's lodged there, but we can get the other two out." "Well, we could twist it, right?" "Rafael, bite this and don't open your eyes," Sasurai instructed as he handed Rafael a bit of leather to clamp down on. He followed the instructions, gritting his teeth as more gut-wrenching pain flowed through his body. His fingers twitched involuntarily, his nerves in shock from the loads of pain. He screamed, and shortly after, Dorothy ran back into the room. "Sasurai, I was looking for you. But I'm glad you're here," she remarked calmly, in spite of the scream that curdled her ears. She did, however, spare him a glace and a furrowed brow. Two more spikes of pain were driven into his back. He screamed again, and he felt warm blood spill through his cloak. "Shit! He's losing blood fast; Dorothy, tear the upholstry to make bandages, and Senka, you take off the damn cloak. I need to see how bad it is! Hurry up now, c'mon!" He shouted directions in a frenzy, which were quickly followed. Senka took off the robe, and saw a trail of blood spilling over, soaking his pants as well. There was an audible gasp. "Oh my god... bandage him up quickly, and put pressure on the wounds. I'm going to get the others -- he needs pain killers soon." He felt more pain as Dorothy and Senka wrapped his slumping form into bandages and pressed on the wounds to stem the bleeding. "H... ow bad it...?" He muttered through chattering teeth. "You'll live," he heard Dorothy say before watching the world slide into darkness.
Go you! Not swearing kicks a**! XD I have actually noticed this and wondered. I mean, you only get to live life once. What's the point of living it if all you do when you're alive is eat like a rabbit? That's not how life works. You're supposed to do stuff the way you want to, not how society wants you to. Anywho, back on subject. It does seem very likely that it all is a scam by the big wigs to keep us eating crap because it's "good for us" only because most people won't look a gift horse in the mouth. They see or hear the words "healthy" and "helps you lose weight", no one will think twice about buying it. Which leads back to the vanity of this country, but I'll spare you that rant. I'm not interested in joining your organization though. I'm more of a Pepsi girl. XD
You're not 'eating like a rabbit,' you're eating so that you remain healthy and don't die at age 60 from all these new-age preservatives or whatever the crap they toss in food nowadays. You're just cutting back on the junk food. Put down that extra bag of chips, and go for a walk. No one's forcing carrots down your throat, or making you go on the Atkins diet. Society and the 'big-wigs' aren't buying your groceries for you, either. You buy your own food, you make your own food decisions. Yes, there is a weight-loss craze going on, but only because people look for those easy ways out, those miracle pills, the lyposuction. People, unless it's a genetic disorder, go outside and ride your bike, put down the McDonalds, and don't touch that cake, either. Get with the "eat less exercise more diet." As for the white bread being just as bad for you as wheat? Not true. You see, they heavily refine the wheat in the white bread, and take out all the healthy stuff like vitamins, and put in things like transfats (hydrogenated oils, I think). Now, this isn't a blanket for ALL white bread versus ALL wheat, but it's generally true that white is less healthy than wheat. In closing, Ilium, your "we can't get sugar cereals anymore" comment was hilarious. Are you living in like... China where they police everything? Go to your supermarket -- pick up that Cap'n Crunch, Fruit Loops, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and chow down. I really hope you were joking there, lol.

Rafael looked at the stone ground, and then with hesitation, called out to his friend. ?Giusto, return.? Immediately there was a brilliant flash of yellow light that poured through every opening in the Castle, and an instant later, his sword gleamed with electricity once more. ?Alright, I?ll do my best, Sasurai.? He glanced back up at the ramparts, seeing musket men fire primitive firearms at his comrades, and archers popping shots off as well. Grimacing with every move, he sprinted into the castle not too far behind Sasurai, and turned to climb up a spiral staircase, where he guessed lay the men raining death on his comrades. He encountered two men, both of which he immediately dispatched with a swift slice at the neck. At long last, he saw the backs of a great many men, firing clumsy guns, or letting arrows fly. They had no idea he was here. After a minute of slicing, he was soaked in the blood of his enemies, their bodies providing a continuous carpet on the floor. He ran back down the tower?s staircase, and had to stop several times from the pulsating pain in his back. He managed to push it out of his mind, and attack the remaining soldiers from behind their lines. In the distance, through the fray of battle, he could see the two women whom he had left earlier. He stabbed another man in the back, and sent a great deal of electricity through him, killing him as well as a multitude of those surrounding. The metal armor was a great conductor. At long last, he reunited with the two, and huffed an apology to them as they killed the remaining soldiers left, trying to salvage a defense of the castle. ?I?m?s.o sorry for ? des..ert?ing you two. Are you alright?? ?Yeah, better than you; that?s for certain,? Senka remarked with a smirk that angered Rafael. He channeled the feeling into the next man in his path; he did not think that his condition was any laughing matter; surely he was close to death. Dorothy silently killed the last man with a snap of his spinal cord, and looked at Senka for a moment, then caught sight of the collapsed Rafael. He coughed up a bit of blood, and sat there kneeing in a slumped, crumpled sort of position with arrows protruding from his back. He vaguely resembled a porcupine. ?You need medical attention. Senka, please help me lift him.? ?Yeah, sure. It?s not my fault he?s this bad though!? The two women hoisted Rafael onto their shoulders, and carried him for the most part, when he couldn?t manage to take a few steps on his own. At long last, he was brought inside the castle, full of dead bodies. Senka dropped Rafael roughly to the floor of a highly decorated, lush room. Rafael stumbled to the nearest pillow, and kneeled on it, silently suffering as blood seeping into the silk pillow. ?I?ll go alert Sasurai his condition?s worsened. Senka, could you please make sure he doesn?t get ambushed by a stragler?? Dorothy then sprinted off into the confines of the castle. Senka shrugged in differently, and glanced at the pitiful Rafael. ?Damn you?re in terrible shape. What hit you?? She joked, but Rafael did not take it lightly. ?No shit I look terrible. I think it was just an arrow ? I only have the wind knocked out of me, don?t worry too much,? he sniped. ?Whatever, you should be grateful we didn?t leave you for dead. Us ladies are too nice these days?? she trailed off, then faced away, looking at the intricate wallpaper. Rafael did not attempt to fight back verbally, only mustering the strength not to pass out. I need these arrows out of my back?

Keiji sat underneath the waterfall serenely as the water rushed over his head and soaked his clothes. The force of it was enough to fracture a normal man?s skull, but Shakaku had taught him a technique to prevent that. It was going on five hours, and he still sat with just as firm a posture as when his mistress had directed him to start the training. ?And why are you doing this,? Shakaku asked over the noise of the waterful. She didn?t need to project her voice too far; she had a curious ability to speak quietly and still be heard. ?If I strengthen my weaknesses, they are no longer weaknesses,? he replied, his eyes still snapped shut. Shakaku shot a fireball at him, to make sure he wasn?t dozing off. Almost instantaneously, Keiji swatted the blast away with a fist full of fire. He returned his hand to its original position. ?Go,? she simply commanded. Keiji had been told what the signal meant, and quickly executed it. The water stopped hitting his wet head, and instead parted several inches above it by an invisible force. Steam rose violently from his body, and sometimes jets of air would burst forth, followed by involuntary discharges of fire throughout his skin. He struggled, keeping the water away from his body as long as possible by turning it into steam, but the force of the waterfall was crushing. He could not sustain his draining effort after half an hour. Shakaku was surprised by his performance, but knew Keiji had reached the end of his rope as sparks emanated from his head. After another moment, he fell headlong off the rock he was perched on, and into the water far below. He was in a dazed state, and floated face up to the sandy banks after another minute. Keiji awoke slowly after his mistress warmed him up by waving surprisingly hot air on him. It was not long before his personal aura started back up, drying his clothes instantly. ?That was mediocre at best, Keiji. Do not ever fall unconscious again. I don?t care if you?re holding a tsunami at bay; unconsciousness means certain death,? she sounded displeased, despite her ecstatic interior that her apprentice could sustain such effort for half an hour. Keiji frowned, and looked at the ground after standing up from the moist banks. ?I will not fail again,? he said quietly. ?I hope not. Now please listen as I te?? She was cut off by a rustling sound in the bamboo thicket behind them. Her messenger burst forth, carrying a scroll and huffing loudly. Shakaku gave him enough time to catch his breath, then nonverbally, prompted him to give the message. ?To Ibashin'en Shakaku: The Emperor requests your appearance at the capital immediately. You are permitted to bring your apprentice,? he finished with energy. ?Wonderful. Keiji, go fetch my belongings as well as yours, load up two horses and we?ll be on our way.? ?Yes, Mistress,? he said quickly as he sprinted past the messenger back to their simple home. He picked up Shakaku and his travel packs, and loaded them onto the two steeds that were tied to a stake next to the house. After picking up Shakaku, they were on their way to the capital city, moving double time. OOC: Hope that was alright, ULX, Imi.

Narote sat on his cot; bed could not describe it, and twirled his staff around for a while, until Apollos, sitting on an opposing bed, interrupted him. ?Narote, what do you think of Renjin and Kirra?? Narote thought about his response for a moment before replying. ?I think they?re two nice people. You obviously know that I?m not a supporter of dark magic, but I?m willing to look past that.? ?Yeah, I agree. I?m not too happy with having to give up precious stones, but it?s for a better cause,? he said, but stopped talking after nearing a gurgling sound coming from outside. Narote?s head swiveled towards the window, where he heard the shout come from. ?Where?s your commanding officer?? Narote pushed the window open, calling down to the dwarf who was holding an orc by the neck in midair. ?Please, put him down! There?s no need for violence.? The dwarf, unheeding, tossed the orc to the side. The orc scampered away, sprinting towards the forest without sticking around to answer the question. A heavy silence hung over Narote, as the dwarf shot an annoyed glance towards him. Apollos was looking over Narote?s shoulder, in obvious afterthought. The awkward moment was broken by a sudden falling of rain from the heavens. A thunderclap in the distance immediately followed a brilliant bolt of lightening. The ground was spotted with moisture before soaking the earth?s surface, churning dirt into mud. ?Sir, why don?t you come inside the Inn? If I made you angry, I?m very sorry.? His call was not responded to verbally, but the dwarf strode into the warm dwelling to escape the rain. All around, he heard the pitter-patter, the tempo rising with the approach of the storm. ?Do you think the Inn will hold up against all this?? Apollos asked tentatively, staring at a dripping spot in the piecemeal roof. ?I doubt it. I?ll try to do something about it,? he said, and then closed his eyes trying to recall the command. His eyes snapped open in remembrance. ?Resarcio.? He pointed his staff at the ceiling, and the tiles shifted into place, elongating as necessary to cover the opening in the roof. The drips stopped. ?Wonderful.? ?Well, the years I spent studying minor spells helped, it seems.? Apollos nodded in silent agreement, then turned to stare back at the wet window, watching rivers of water run down. The room was filled with the soothing sound of raindrops. -
Well, I was going to let people who know something about drawing comment first. Since no one's taken your [lovely] bait, I guess I'll step up. Really, I enjoyed this work quite alot -- you're very good. However, Ino's face is slightly out of proportion, but I don't know how to advise you to go about fixing it. I looked through the rest of your gallery, and your drawings are good enough to appear on a Naruto cover some time soon! So keep drawing; you're doing great.

It sucks summer's almost gone. Threads like this don't help me forget about the little time left! >_>;; I start back to school September 2nd, but that's a Friday, and it's Labor Day weekend after that, so I really technically start until the 6th. So I have time... *weeps* Seriously, I love the summer. It's hot, there's no school, and there's plenty of free time. See, my school works me to death, so even the whole 'friend factor' most of you are talking about doesn't outweigh the burden of the work. It really, really, REALLY sucks to have to go back. But once you start back up, it's not as bad. I'm hoping Junior year is easier than Sophomore year. Perhaps the workload will indeed be lighter, but there's too many outside influences. National Honors Society service hours, my standard school service hours (40 by the end of the year), PSAT and SAT, Soccer, and all sorts of other crap. So, in a week and a half or so, my world crashes. I return to the prison.

Yeah, I think you can do that in The Legionnaires Art Thread. And I too have a question -- can group leaders be killed off? Thanks, and good luck organizing this, Shy.

Instead of critiquing each banner individually, I'm going to point out some general 'problems,' or just repeated techniques. Your backgrounds: They seem like you distorted lines, and blended them together. And while that has its place every so often, it is a very confusing effect. For example, on the first banner, there's all sorts of lines zinging around that I can't really appreciate your choice of stock. It feels like the banner is too cluttered when you add too many of these. Your typography: Try to pick fonts that match the general banner mood. If it's something dark like Curse, go to www.dafont.com/en, and download some grungy fonts. If it's a happy, joyful banner, don't put nondescript italic font, when you could have something cartoonish, or cursive. Your stock: Actually, I've got to hand it to you. You have a pretty strong understanding of where your stock should be placed in relation to the text, background, and banner proportions. There's not too much I could advise you on here, except keep doing what you're doing. Keep making banners! And for the record, Pipsqueek is hilarious.
-
Very ingenuitive! You're really something -- I've never seen an [online] artist operate with such scanty materials, and have the skill to make banners this good. I definitely enjoy the red tint/hue you've added, and the white background is perfect. However, I think the border is a bit superfluous. If you made the banner into a rectangle, you could have "Chrono Crusade" in a completely white area, instead of awkwardly overlapping the stock.

A Woman?s World Chapter 1 Characters: All Worldwide Happiness Level: 60% - Women demand more jobs, as the menial ones are taken by men. Summary: The Mistresses try to raise the world happiness level while the servants meet in the servant lounge (see underground thread) to relax (get acquainted). The servants have not yet found the book, just so you know.IC: Sergio woke up at 6:00AM sharp to prepare breakfast for his Mistress. He had grown accustomed to her Japanese tastes, and despite heavy Spanish housetraining; he had grown fond of it. As the water for the tea began to boil, he shut a soundproof glass door to the kitchen so as not to wake up Sakura. In the silent chamber, he sang a song in Spanish from his childhood. One his father had taught him. ?De colores, de colores se visten los campos en la primavera. De colores, de colores son los pajaritos que vienen de afuera. De colores, de colores es el arco iris que vemos lucir,? he cooed to himself, occupying the dull minutes. Finally, the meal was complete, and smelled delicious. He placed her favorite pair of chopsticks on the mini-table, and knocked on Sakura?s door at precisely 6:35AM. ?Good morning, Ms. Hiwatari. Breakfast and tea?? he asked from behind the closed door. ?Enter.? She sounded slightly tired; irritated she had to get up early again. Sergio opened the sliding door, and set the food on her bed. ?Would you like anything else?? ?No, make the bed when I leave.? ?Hai, Ms. Hiwatari,? he said, bowing before he left the room. He glanced at a digital clock in the kitchen, wanting it to move faster. Sakura hadn?t asked him to work on anything, so he got to spend the day with his friends. It was rare he had a free day, and it only happened when the Mistresses had to have meetings. He?d catch the broadcast in the lounge, he guessed. His head whipped around and he stood at heightened attention when he heard Sakura?s door open. ?Have a nice day, Ms. Hiwatari.? She nodded and gave a fake smile, then flew out of the door in business attire. Furrowing his brow, he shrugged as the door closed. So I guess things are tough at work then? He didn?t worry too much about it, and walked into his own room again. He was permitted to wear semi-formal clothes today, so he put on a white cloak, which resembled a trench coat, and walked out the door to the lounge. Sergio strode down the lengthy corridors, taking elevators where appropriate to get to his destination. Finally, he arrived at the servant lounge, and swiped his identification card to get into it. The card scanner flashed green, saying ?Welcome Sergio Alvarez,? then dimmed away. The door slid open quickly, and he entered into the calm, quiet room. There was a group of guys watching the holodisplay, and another group playing cards at the table. Sergio sat down at the holochess table, and let the lush chair accommodate his form. Another man walked into the room, one he knew well. ?Hey, Bruce. How?s it going?? ?Ah, you know. Same ol, same ol. It gets kind of tedious around here, you know? Just making meals, serving our Mistress forever?? He sat down at the other end of the holochess table. He started up a game, and Sergio moved first. ?Well, I kind of like it. I feel like it gives me purpose. Making her feel happy. Or am I just a strange, workaholic drone?? He gave a broad grin, and Bruce returned it, making another move. ?I guess it does. Look, I?ve been reading about this woman Marianette Luther King Jr. Amazing woman ? fought for women to get more rights. Why can?t there be a man who does that for us?? Sergio blinked, staring at the board. ?I have no idea. I haven?t really thought too much about it. Ideas like that are dead ends. So you try to champion men?s rights. You get killed. It?s that simple Bruce.? Bruce shrugged indifferently as Sergio moved. The game got very involving, but his colleague bested him in the game by a very daring checkmate. ?So that?s checkmate? Damn. I?ll have to beat up on the next guy who comes here, I guess,? he said laughing. As the game finished, a few more servants came in and milled about before sitting down near Bruce and Sergio.OOC: That?s your cue, everyone! Read the Underground thread for more information, or to ask questions. Thanks.

Alright, Revelation. I'll accept your sign-up, since your writing is outstanding. You can either have an NPC as a servant, or ask someone (specific) to be your servant. If that is the case, the guy who signs up, please state that Revelation singled you out and asked you to be her servant. With that being said, the sign-ups are closed, and the RPG is up in the Square and Underground. Check it!

A Woman?s World Underground Alright, I?m making this to answer general questions and concerns you may have about this RPG. First of all, it?s going to be arranged in a chapter format, so not everyone may be posting in the chapter. Below you?ll find some general information. Lodging: Everyone lives lavishly in this RPG ? the Mistresses are the most powerful women in the world, and of course they?d have nothing shoddy for their servants either. They?re a direct reflection upon themselves, like children. Each Mistress will have a separate bedroom from her servant, but they will both share a kitchen that separates their rooms. So each Mistress/servant pair will share a lodging ?unit? within the Earth Almighty Queen Compound. These units are located in a cluster together, in the residential wing of the Compound, so it?s fairly common to run into another Mistress or servant. Keep in mind that you will rarely leave the Compound; it?s a very self-contained environment, and it?s heavily guarded and patrolled so as to prevent people from entering without proper identification. No man leaves the grounds without his Mistress. General Locations at the Compound: So that this doesn?t get stale, I?ve made some other areas you can go to. Tennis Courts Field: A really large field with trees scattered about ? great for picnics. Recreation Room: Has hologames, ping-pong, foosball, table hockey, etc. Mistress Lounge: Requires a card that only Mistresses have, and contains large holodisplays, a bar, a library of uncensored books, as well as plenty more luxuries. Servant Lounge: Accessible to both Mistresses and servants, but Mistresses are rarely seen there. Has a medium size holodisplay, a pool table, and holochess. Library: Has only censored books, and a great number of computers. Mistress Cabinet: Where the Mistresses work. This contains a worldwide broadcast holodisplay. Requires a card that only Mistresses have. Mistress? Work: Mistress lead the world. As you could imagine, you make laws, abolish them, and make huge political decisions that the affect the entire world. During the RPG, I hope to stay away from the deeper mechanics, as it would get kind of dry, but in some chapters I?ll have you decide upon controversial laws that will affect the entire world. But don?t think these choices you make will be inconsequential in terms of the RPG ? they?ll matter a whole lot. Read below. Worldwide Happiness: All the Mistress? decisions as far as the world is concerned affect the world?s happiness level. I?ll decide how that rises and drops, depending on what you all do (ex: you up the drinking age, happiness goes down). Depending on the happiness level, the world will react. I?m talking parades in your honor to mass revolts. If the world is unhappy, the other Mistresses will depose the one who made the world so unhappy (in extreme circumstances only). If the world is really happy, the Mistress who did that will get more power over the others, and in turn get to choose what happens to their own servants. Really, I?ll be playing the world?s happiness level, and you?ll see it at the beginning of each chapter. I hope I explained everything? if not, PM/IM me, or reply here. I?ll help you, I promise. Expect this RPG up by tonight.
If you call teetering around on stilletos dancing go right ahead. Same with saying thjat you're hungry and not eatting anything being fun.
While I'm not going to defend her dancing, I will for the eating part, lol. She looks pretty healthy, and from what I can tell she's having the time of her life. Rich. Successful. Nuff said?
She makes a crap load of money selling her over priced clothes and singing songs that pale in comparison to her old stuff. Yeah, I like Cool it reminds me of running And I did catch the Fiddler on the roof (if I were a Rich man) sampling on if I were a rich girl. She also did good in The Aviator, but why can't she try dancing in comfortable shoes?
So what if she makes "a crap load of money" off clothes? She's in it for the money. You should be blaming the people buying these clothes. And she doesn't dance in comfortable shoes... because she doesn't want to. Perhaps the uncomfortable shoes look better? That's what media is about. Better to look good than to feel good. *shrug*

They're all right I guess. I mean, I like a few songs from them, but I'm no huge fan. Goth music? I don't think so... but I could see where people would think that. As for the whole 'tedious' thing, I don't understand what people mean. People said Linkin Park is tedious/repetitive. I mean, they are, but not to a point where they get tiresome. The only thing tedious with them is their screaming at the end of every song. But enough of my tangent.
I have mixed feelings on using paint for any type of Digital Manipulation or Graphic Design, I myself am A Photoshop Person. I also use Illustrator every now and then as well. I also am a fan of original art, made by the person. To be honest I think that if you made art yourself, then put a banner around it might be cooler. But I dont think you could really critique images that have banners around it that all you contributed to the picture was the banners. But for what it is, Its good, because the artists have outstanding work and well, the banners make them fancy? I dont know if that is the right word...
I agree with you to some extent -- Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro are alot better than MSPaint. But you're saying that in order for a banner to be good it has to be complicated, heavily edited from a stock image, and whatever else constitutes a 'good' banner. Completely wrong. Sometimes the simplest things look the best, and they took a long time to make. Complexity means nothing in the world of art, it's the end product that matters, really. Now, these banners that she made have only been modified with an addition of a border. So? What's wrong with that? I'd say that a few of them look darn good, and I might even use the last one myself. Compared to your edited, flashy, photoshopped look, her art very well might blows yours out of the water.

I started using the internet when I was very little -- maybe 6. My screen name was Binder238. Don't ask me how I remember that. Anyway, I only used it to access the Kids Only sections and play pretty pointless games. Then I didn't use the internet for a very long period, except for school. I started back when I was about 9, and we got CompuServe instead of AOL. Oh joy. The 56k nearly killed me after going to my friend's house who had just got DSL. So it took about three/four years of bugging before my parents gave into getting Comcast Highspeed Internet. I've never left this seat ever since. I use the Internet for... everything. Music, IMing friends, looking at art, and browsing cyberspace (forums, etc). I find it facinating that I'll never see all of the Internet. However, it provides so much stimuli that a conversation cannot. That's why I spend alot of time on the computer. *shrug*

Ah... Reboot. I remember watching Toonami years ago, scrambling to the television as Reboot came on. I loved that show. Very innovative, extremely well done. Lest we forget. Long live Reboot.

I'm not a huge fan of her music, but I have to say this... She's a great artist. She's extremely versatile, succeeding in nearly every genre of music she touches. She's not going to go away any time soon -- she used a song from Fiddler on the Roof, and melded that into a pop song. How good is that? "If I Were a Rich Girl" takes a few notes from "If I Were a Rich Man" from Fiddler. A Jewish musical, and she used it. That's innovation there. I think she looks better than ever -- surely losing those scary hairdo's and dressing semi-normally did her some good.
