1. First post back from vacation! It looks good all in all, but it looks really generic/tutorial-made. It's a nice use of a focal point and colors that are easy on the eyes, but as I get farther from the focal point, things look more disorganized and stringy-esque, I guess. The font is definitely not working for this piece either. It's isolated from the rest of the image, and doesn't tie in well with the abstract feel. I'd recommend not only a simple and clean font, but duplicating the font layer, messing around with the rasterized layer, and putting the clean layer on top of the other font layer. Here's an example: Perhaps messing with the blending layer on the text would also enhance it a bit. Sorry for such a lengthy (annoying, maybe?) reply... just feel kinda overanalytical.
 2. OOC: I'm gonna get this up before my trip to Colorado. Just wanted to keep this going... check my sig for information about that. Oh, and no fancy boxy thing. >_>;;IC: Orion closed his eyes, thinking to himself for quite a while. He idly twirled a butter knife in his right hand, subconsciously subduing the impacience within. He wished he could become stronger so as not to let his team down, and for the time of the mission. Sitting around wasn't fun for him, but he had stilled his mind long ago, sucumbing to the cruel fact that time crept slowly by. Snapping his eyes open, he stood up, and walked around the room for a bit, just wanting to stretch his legs. Quickly, he realized that standing was just as bad as sitting, so he sat back down at the simple wooden table across from Kai. He stared at the grain in the wood, picking out the inclines and sharp mountains in the table. His eyes quickly locked onto Cloud as he entered the room. "I have an idea..." he trailed off. Perhaps he didn't, but Orion didn't really want to hear much of it. They had failed the time before, why not this time again? While he bitterly wanted to succeed on this next mission, but the chance was bleak. Of course, Kai came up with ideas which definitely had holes in them, but Orion had no better idea. He glanced at the planning paper, which was filling up with black ink carrying the actions of everyone, the general floorplan, and ideal weaponry of the party. "I anyone has any smoke bombs, we'll be needing them." Orion nodded at the words, quickly tossing Cloud a few bombs from underneath the bench he was sitting on. Of course the room was quite cluttered, and finding such things were quite easy -- if you knew where to look. After more words had been exchanged, Kai left the room. It was usual of her, but sometimes annoying. What if there was more to plan? He forced the more important issues to the front of his mind, which were the plans on the attack. "How about ... tonight? What better time than now." He said in his soft voice. Cloud nodded wistfully, while Lei thought about it for a longer interval of time. It was definitely an important decision, one that had to be thought about for a longer period that just a few instants.
 3. Alex looked at her, thinking of his reasons for staying or leaving. "I... I miss the city. I mean, I'll stay, but dammit this countryside is too quiet, too empty, too dead. Thank you for wanting me to stay, though. I guess I'll ... stick around for a bit, see how things turn out. I just gotta sort myself out," he finished, nodding at Renee for asking him to stay. Part of him felt attached to everyone, even though he didn't know them. The rest of his soul screamed to leave, to hear a car honk it's horn, to smell second-hand smoke, to see a skyscraper again. He turned, walking slowly to the rock cropping out over the water. Glancing down into the cold, crystal-clear water, his eyes began to tear up. He fought them back, but one freed itself of his eyelid, falling down into the water to be united with its bretheren. The rest of the drops leapt from his face uncontrollably, each one rejoycing with a ripple when it hit the pond. "What's inside of me?" He asked himself, not really wanting the answer. He took another step closer to the edge of the rockface, wanting desparetly just to fall. So he did. He slipped off the rock, falling headlong into the quickly approaching water. Shit... he thought, realizing he didn't want to get wet in mid-fall. Everything froze. He was upside down, looking at the water. The pond still had ripples telling the tale of his sadness, his internal turmoil. Then a ghost, a spirit, which one Alex could not tell, rose up from the water floating to his eye level, staring deep into his soul. "You will find your place here," It said in some sort of synergized voice... perhaps a combination of many peoples. After a dead silence hung in the air again, a golden orb floated in front of Alex's chest, compeletely stationary. "Now move it." Alex furrowed his brow in question, turning his eyes once again to the orb in front of him. Move. It gave a slight budge, not even completely revolving. The ghost smacked him hard against the cheek. "I told you to move it. Not pussy foot. Move it." Alex fought his anger down, thinking again for the golden orb to move, to revolve, to rotate on its axis. It began, slowly at first, then quickly picked up its pace and rigor. Which each passing revolution, Alex screamed harder at it to keep going, to keep spinning around. Soon, several words floated within it... but Alex had no idea why. Sadness, Confusion, Strife. The ghost nodded at him, and pushed Alex up back to the top of the rock again, and time began once more. Alex blinked, and the ghost was gone. The ripples of his tears were gone. Even the orb had completely disappeared. He shook his head, wondering exactly why everything was happening the way it did. Was there such thing as fate? Destiny? He violently shoved the thoughts from his mind, and picked up a smaller rock he wrested from the ground. He tossed it in the air, begging it each time to freeze. It seemed the divine 'forces' were against him, as it continued to move. After much throwing, and even more frustration, it finally hung in the air, for a few seconds, but he had no idea what to do from there. Just before giving up, he tossed it again, willing it to freeze where it was. The wheels of time screetched to a sickening halt, hanging the rock in the air once again. Orb! Form now! he commanded. A gold one quickly presented itself, just the the other times. Once again, he forced it to spin, faster and faster, until the a ghost picked up the rock and threw it as hard as it could in the direction desired by Alex. It made a hole through a two-foot-thick oak tree, and the projectile flew with considerable force and speed. He guessed it was faster than a bullet. But the problem was, he didn't know exactly where it would go, just the general diction. It would be a long day before he could throw it with accuracy, but then again, he had plenty of time, he thought as he picked up anohter rock. OOC: Sorry everyone. I'm gonna be gone for a week. Try to keep my character in the actions of the RPG. I might have some computer access during the week ... but just check my sig for the time. Thanks in advance
 4. OOC: Wow. Thanks, everyone, for copying the going unconscious part. So creative... >_>IC: When I wake up... whenever that will be Alex woke up slowly, furrowing his brow as he did so. "Wha... where am I, exactly?" He examined his surroundings, realizing he was inside his boring cabin once more. Quickly, his hand shot to his cheek, feeling the shallow scar on it. It was noticable, but not very prominent. He swore internally that his face was cut and damaged, but shrugged it off. "So... I guess I had better be going if I'm about to be fighting to the death every day. I'm sick of this... sick of being away, sick of being in new company. No one really notices, or cares for that matter. It almost reminds me of home..." he trailed off. "But I'm gonna tell them all, straight up that I'm about to leave." His internal resolve becoming stronger. Last time he wanted to tell them all he was going to leave, it ended up to be disastrous. Not only did he fail at leaving, but someone gave him the guilty move. Asking him not to leave, just to give things a shot. He had seen it in the movies, the ones that ended tragically. He did not want to die, or live a strange life. He stepped off the bed, happy he was in his regular clothes. At least whomever had decided to take the liberty of helping him had had the decency to keep him in his tattered, wet clothes. He walked out of the cabin, seeing a group of the people whom he had fought with but had no idea what their names were. "Hey... uhh... I'd like to thank whoever helped me out, back there, dragging me into that cabin was nice of you," someone nodded silently. He couldn't really tell who, but he wasn't exactly concerned with that. "But you all should know that I'm going to leave soon. At least I want to leave. I guess next time I come into contact of transportation good enough to take me State-side." He finished his sentence, feeling somewhat sorry he had broken in rudely on their conversation. A few frowned, others opened their mouths to talk. He waited for their responses.
 5. I thought that she was a vegetable. She couldn't move, and would've died without the feeding tube. But starving her to death really is wrong... not exactly sure whose side to take. If keeping the feeding tube would make the husband poor, I'd let her starve. I mean, she's only going to make things worse for her husband, I'd probably let her go. Yes, it's terrible to kill someone, but if they have no hope whatsoever, and won't be able to do anything for the rest of their lives, I know I'd want someone to put me out of my misery.
 6. For the first splash image is good, but it would've done better without the smaller image of Sasuke. I like the bloodly slashes across the image. Perhaps duplicating the big image of Sasuke, then using a blending mode would've done this some good to make things darker. The second image was alright, I guess. The ship was obviously put there without much blending. Perhaps making Saturn look more fake-ish to blend it in with the ship. Make maybe darken the rest of the image, and make the ship stand out. I had to search for the thing you added in before I saw the ship. The Flogging Molly image had room for improvement, shall I say. I don't really see much manipulation, except cutting out an image of a shamrock and fitting their picture behind it. I guess it looks plain, and the shamrock looks boring. Just plain in general, is my opinion.
 7. I'm sure you'd enjoy the simpler life when you're wrapped in blankets because there's no heat. And there's a foot and a half of snow falling outside. Did I mention you had to go outside to use the bathroom, and you have no electricity? Technology is a good thing. Yes, we could and should do without alot of shortcuts in life, but in the grand scheme of things, technology makes living easier, more enjoyable, more comfortable.
 8. I read in a different article that he was a Neo-Nazi. And it's stupid to commit suicide, but dragging other along with you on your ride to hell is just retarded. That kid ... I can't express my anger towards him in mere words. Yes, his life was extremely hard, but he has deeper issues than just that.
 9.
I really hesitate to get into these threads, but I do want to say something here. I think you are missing the point and are perhaps unaware of the Bible's history to some degree. First of all, the actual content and message of the Bible has changed many times over the course of history. This is a result of the inclusion and exclusion of various texts at different points. The Nostic Gospels, for instance, were never included within the New Testament - primarily for political reasons (obviously you can't enforce a law if another law contradicts it, for instance). Even the "King James Version" speaks for itself. Obviously it's not the original unedited document, if it's a King James Version. lol Some of the earliest texts from the Bible included references to all sorts of things, which obviously never made it into the current version. Cannibalism is a good example. So, to some degree, the Bible has changed over time, as part of its relationship with civilization and culture at different points in history. I think Chabichou is trying to illustrate the idea that while the Bible has changed significantly, the Quran has not. Honestly, I can't speak about any changes in the Quran, because I simply don't know enough about it. I just wanted to clarify the reason why Chabichou might be pointing that out and why it does actually matter, if we are talking about relevance.
You're right. Of course there have been major changes to the Bible. But the overall message has remained the same. There hasn't been some faith-shattering remake of the Bible; it's all generally been the same. The nature of the Trinity, for example, is the exact same now as it was in the 5th century AD. The Bible's perspective of God as a loving, forgiving creator has not changed either. Yes, there have been both major and minor changes in the Bible, but the overall message has remained the same.
 10. I think it's water for me. For obvious reasons, I think I'm water because I love to drink it (over soda/milk/juice). I also like it's cleansing feel... and I'm generally a clean person. It washes away, represents renewal, and comes in many forms. It can be peaceful, quiet, lulling you to sleep, or a crashing wave that kills indiscriminantly. I'm generally a calm person, going with the flow for the most part, but when you disturb me, or anger me, I crash down like a tsunami. Water is stronger than anything else. It erodes at rock, slowly gets into the cracks, seeking the weakness of its opponents to exploit once it freezes. I may not appear stronger than you, but my [usually] fun-loving, peaceful demeanor can fool you. I'm really a berserker with a short temper, and if you stir the beast within me, you had better be ready to put be down with shocking force. But that's another thing, even when you break my back, I regroup, pooling into the low places, then upon the command of the moon, surge forth, covering new ground. And I swear, elfpirate, I was SO about to make this thread. *shakes fist* Heh.
 11.
Holy scriptures are more vulnerable to change because people might disagree with them or misunderstand them. The Torah the Bible and the Quran, were all at risk. But if the Quran is indeed the word of God, then it indeed has remained unchanged because God is protecting it himself. How exactly is he protecting it? Well he allows those who know the message to pass it on properly, meaning the orignial message will always be known, even if there are only a few people who know it.
Do not go running that arguement around here, that God protects the Holy Book. Sure, I believe that the Holy Spirit keeps the Bible free from error as well ... so use of "faith" in this arguement isn't going to cut it.
In regards to the Torah, if the copies in the synagogues are indentical to those of 2000 years ago, then you're right, we have no proof that it's been changed. Therefore, we can assume that the Torah and the Quran are in the same leugue, but only concerning this matter.
Wait... I thought you said that the Quran is right because of the fact that it is the only uncorrupted "Holy Book" around. So if the Torah and the Quran are "in the same league" because of the fact it remained unchanged by men, you should also believe the Torah to be the Quran. But I'm guessing that's not right...
But there is proof that the Bible's been altered, we all know that. How much exactly we're not sure, and we all have different ideas how much it has.
I feel like a broken record. What does it matter that it's been altered? It carries the exact same message ... the Word of the Lord. But off of the faith idea, it embodies the same values as it did when the books were first written.

 14. Thanks, everyone for giving me such good critique. I wonder how long I'll keep this thread going... *ponders* Anyway, here's my newest work. 15. OOC: Freeking sweet! It's aliiiive! I'm so happy...IC: Sergio woke up slowly, being rather annoyed that he had to sleep with the lights on all the time. Was darkness such a bad thing? It must be, if a rule forebode staying in the darkness. A very peculiar rule, but a rule nonetheless. Stretching as he got out of bed, he remembered what had happened yesterday. He had talked to Karyan, and saw the immense library. One could call it a very uneventful day, but not go so far as to say it was boring. The Russian girl was very intriguing, he thought, and she had seemed very curious as to how he read. It didn't bother him, but the thought also nagged at the back of his mind. Maybe he needed to read another astrophysics book to get his mind off of such things. He picked up the book "Einstein and His Theories," seemed suitable. He got dressed into a black shirt and a pair of loose jeans, reading the book as he walked down the staircase. Several other people were chatting in the dining room, and probably loudly; he could hear them from around the corner. Perhaps it wouldn't be the best place to read his book? "I should just talk to people..." he resolved, striding into the hall and taking a seat. Karyan, Alex, and Adian were all talking to one another, and Kai was silent. He sat a fair distance away from everyone else, picking up his book to read it as a donut and cinna-roll were placed before him on a platter. Nodding in approval, he set down his book and dug into his favorite breakfast foods. They tasted better than ever, but in the back of his mind, he wondered exactly how the Master of the Game knew his preferences. Years of stalking him? He didn't worry too much about it; the food was too good for that. Once he had finished a good part of the meal, he picked up his "interesting" book, and picked up where he left off on Quantum Mechanics.
 16. "What the FUCK!" Alex shouted out. He wanted to go home immediately. Some Maori priest guy had just told them people wanted to suck the souls of out their tattoos. And now, there was a flash blizzard. Things were getting stranger by the minute, and he was stuck out in the wilderness with a bunch of strangers. "So, why exactly did we run out into the blizzard? C'mon, people, have some common sense!" He shouted, but his voice was drowned out by the cold blasts of wind. He shivered again, moreso from fear than from the temperature when he saw the same stalker from New York. "You're going to die. And I'll drink your blood in ecstacy..." he slurred, starting to run towards him. Alex gritted his teeth, and sprinted to meet him. He Jumped in the air, and lashed out to kick the insane clownish person. Then he stopped in mid-air, the snow flakes froze in time, and Alex was hovering in a winter wonderland. He took a minute to glance around, seeing several other people locked in deadly combat just like him, saw the stalker-guy with the knife coming out of his sleeve, and finally a white ghost rise out of the snow. Wait a second! He thought at the ghost. It turned itself toward him, and then fed upon his thoughts. Again, a gold spherical icon spun in front of him, and he could actually read several of the words hovering within it. Anger, Fear, Desire to Succeed. The ghost turned back to the target, and stabbed at the man with an ethereal spear. It glowed with Alex's emotions, as time sped back up again. To his enemy, it looked as if the weapon appeared out of nowhere, and was near-impossible to dodge. The blade drove deep into his chest-cavity, as blood spilled out across the white, fresh-driven snow. "Fu..gck..." he stammered, as he gripped his stomach in pain, trying to stem the fatal flow of blood oozing from his body. With the other hand, he threw his knife. Too fast to completely avoid, Alex moved his head to the side, just slightly enough to give him an annoying cut across his left cheek. The red river slowly ran down his face, as he just looked at his attacker again, willing himself or the spirits, or God, or whomever to freeze time again. He froze several times for a few seconds, not enough to really focus on anything. But it came eventually, as his enemy was too weak to continue attacking, and now focused on defense. Time stood still once again. KILL THAT MOTHERFUCKING BASTARD! NOW! Once again, the gold sphere rotated on its axis in front of Alex's chest. But this time, a ghost arose frrom his shoulder, where his tattoo was. The pain was excruciating, ripping through his very soul to venture forth to the outside. "O LORD God, to whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, shew thyself" the ghost and Alexander said in unison, reading the tattoo from which he had originated. It then turned to face the wounded enemy, but did not physically touch it. Alex felt the ghost manifest itself within him, and he felt filled with divine power. A light yellow aura emitted, and snow was blown away from him in a forceful gale. The brilliance was overwhelming, and Alex thought it must be God doing all this for him, and not some Maori tattoo stuff. When time began to flow once more, the man emitted a blood curdling scream, as his neck rotated around to a 360 degree position. Sickening cracks of his bone and sinew could be heard, as he fell down to the ground. "So... c...old" he said, suddenly feeling the temperature around him. He too collapsed into the snow, conscious but at the same time unconscious, drifting in and out of a light haze. His enemy fell to the grount, utterly defeated, and Alex grinned in final satisfaction before his vision faded to black.

\\Background > Morpheus knew Neo personally, trained him, and was willing to die for him. He searched for the One all his life, and knew that he would bring salvation to his people. But he did not. The peace was only temporary, which is what Morpheus had expected from the start. Since Neo's death, he had taken it upon himself to free as many lives as possible from the Matrix. Of course, such work doesn't require training, but "real-life" combat. His "training" stems only from his missions where it is either life or death. He is still just as pensive, mysterious, and wise as before, and has studied Neo's fighting techniques to learn more. He has progressed farther than many have expected, but he is still underestimated by many. Aside from training and missions, he has fallen deeply in love with Naiobi, but hasn't worked up the courage to talk to her imtimately. She, the pilot of the Logos, is also constantly out on a mission. He secretly values their time together
 18.
I said that the Bible had been changed a lot, but I didn't mean that there aren't any other unedited ones, just that the Bible most people read.
True, but like I said, it doesn't matter if the word "Philadelphia" is translated to "brotherly love" as opposed to "love." It's all the same. I don't understand why Muslims believe the Bible was altered by men, when it was only translated into another language, where it kept the message constant.
I don't think it's right how you can go to a guy and tell him that you have sinned and be forgiven for your sin(s). You can do this, right? Also I don't understand the Holy Trinity thing and Jesus being the son of God.
Yeah, that's pretty off topic, but I'll give it a shot. Well, Catholics go to a "guy," who is referred to as a Priest. Catholics believe that during the sacrament of Reconciliation (aka confession), the Priest is in persona Christi or in the person of Christ. Basically meaning that Christ's spirit manifests itself in the priest, and therefore has the power of forgiveness. However, I'm a Methodist (Protestant, basically), and I don't believe in a mortal forgiving me of my sins. I pray directly to God, and I know He can forgive me of my sin. It's my faith. And the Trinity... I guess it's one of the more mysterious, complicated things of Christianity. That's why alot of people don't understand it, much like you. I'm not gonna really get too far into all that.
 19.
It's more likely that the Arabs didn't know much about Christianity than the idea that they did.
Wow. I'm glad I'm taking Western Civilization now. We learned that the Arabs did in fact know about Christianity and Judiasm. They generally like the principle's presented in the two religions, but because of political and social reasons, rejected both only because they wanted to unite under a common "Arab" religion. And what better time for Islam to spring up than now? But that's getting off the path. Point is, they did know of Chrisitianity. It's called trade and commerce.
2) I agree with you Siren, about how the Quran could have very well been changed. The Bible, however, has been changed A LOT.
This is true, but I believe that Xander said you could find the original "Bibles" (supposedly free from error) in Latin, just like you can find the Quran in Arabic and then the translated, slightly changed versions. But we miss the bigger point. In each translation, nothing extremely vital was changed or removed. The message stayed the same.
When Constantine was emperor of the Roman empire...
He never was. He was emperor of the Byzantine empire. But moving on...
...there was a big clash between paganism and Christianity. Constantine, who was a pagan himself, had made a very bold decision. He realized that in order to maintain power, he had to support Christianity and promote it.
Again, a perfect example of how you look at it, and which account you believe. Constantine personally wrote in his journal that he was inspired by the Holy Spirit to convert. His vision had a burning cross on a shield or something, and told him to convert. He said to God that he will worship Him if He granted Constantine victory... and he did win. Again, I guess it's all who you want to believe.
He also realized that in order to keep pagans on his side he had to make some changes. What he did was he took every single Bible and burned them (a few original texts survived) and replaced them with a new version. He made the Bible more divine and extraordinary, by adding the water to wine and walking on water things. He basically mixed paganism with Christianity.
Whoa there, man! Let's not get blindly pointing fingers at Constantine for making up divine miracles. There's documented proof from the era recording Jesus' miracles, acts, and mission. Where'd you hear something like that? I'd love to know... And you also just shot yourself in the foot. Original texts survived? That means that there is are some texts that are original and free from error? I could've sworn you said that eariler.
I think that some of the things in the Christian faith is a little messed up....
Care to elaborate?
 20. Yes, thank you so much for chewing me out, when I had no way to know it was made by hand. I definitely deserved punishment for that. >_> It would've been great if Baron had told us that it was made in PS 6, and by hand. It's really good now, but I had no way to know. Jeez.
 21. I'm with James on this one, banning would be a good punishment for people with multiple infractions on this rule. I mean, you can't really enjoy the series knowing the biggest plot twist. Not only does it ruin the anime, it creates an air of arrogance around the thread, like Azure was saying. The "my balls are bigger" game is getting old, fast. A warning, then a ban would be good for me.
 22. It looks good, but it's not a masterpiece. The numbers really throw the mood off, and it's not very edited. I guess the two people may have been manipulated to get together closely, and the sweat's definitely digital. It looks okay, not especially wonderful. I'm not willing to call this even close to a masterpiece. Although the feeling to it is pretty well conveyed.
 23. Sounds like a completely awesome idea. But I think a thicker plot might be necessary to make this a winner. Maybe Scorp Corp wants to take over Otaku City, and the main character gets sucked into the Corp, and has to fight their way out. Not sure... just something a little more substantial than the classic good vs evil battle. The framing part is good. I think I registered on Scorp Corp, and posted in the art forum once. I guess I didn't return since no one else did. But it definetly was a super-cool board, and sure as h*ll would make an awesome gang. SCORP CORP 4 LYPHE! *throws up gang sign* And in case you haven't noticed, I want to be in the fanfic for the evil side. Join us, and you will be more powerful than you have ever imagined...[/starwars rip off]
 24. Well, I personally believe that Jesus wasn't crazy, and therefore wouldn't have suffered as terribly as He did for a lie. I'm not sure a human could endure that much pain, without knowing there was some higher purpose. I believe the documented evidence of Jesus' miracles should be taken into consideration, as He probably couldn't and definitely wouldn't decieve this many people. Jesus, I believe, is perfect, and had full capability of performing such miracles. Speaking of evidence, does Islam have documented writings of the period to say that divine miracles occured? I mean, aside from the facts written by Muhammad, which could have been corrupted by himself. Without some sort of revelation, it's pretty hard to have faith in the religion.

Really, I should wait for other peopel to get caught up, but meh to them. ^_^IC: Alex looked at Alexia, the person whom he had known for all of ten minutes, the girl who watched him get "pushed" back onto the rock. Why was she trying to change his mind? Did she think she understood him? He calmed down himself, letting the logical side of him speak. He shook her hand, as anything less would've been indecent, however, she didn't get the answer she wanted. "I... don't know. Seriously, I have a life back in NYC. The city that never sleeps, and neither can I. I've lost so much time on my work it's not funny... and I don't have any reason to stay here." Alexia looked down for a minute. "Just try it out... just for a day or so. What if your real life isn't in NYC. What if you go home, and realize you should've stayed here?" She challenged. Alex remained somewhat indecicive. "I just don't know. I'm sorry I can' give you a straight answer, It's gotta be pretty annoying. To tell you the truth, so much crappy stuff has happened to me so far, I'm just praying all the while it's been a bad dream." He sat down, thinking pretty hard again. He thought things through, analyzing, balancing, and finally decided to stay for a bit longer. A few extra days wouldn't hurt, he could always make up his work later, maybe next week. "I guess I'll stay for a while." He said outloud. Alexis' face lit up like a child's face on Christmas. She seemed overjoyed, but why? They didn't really even know each other. But Alex decided that such questions might be seen as hurtful to her, so he didn't pose them.
