OOC: Naw, that's fine, amgoddess IC: "Well, you see, Sean was playing Halo 2, when I heard an assault rifle go off." he recounted. He hoped people actually cared. At all. "So I was nervous; I mean, the guns sounded real, so I opened the door, rudely of course. But it was just the game... so yeah." Then Kai told Karyan of the Xbox tale. How she fixed it, what she used, and what had gone wrong in the first place. "Anyway, we all just stumbled in here because of the ... mishap. Excuse me, but was mishap the correct word?" He felt like an idiot. Studying English at Oxford, and messing up a word like mishap. "Yeah, it's fine." Sean said, as Kai took a controller. "Don't forget about the game." She said challengingly. Karyan looked at the two with a hint of emotion. Sergio couldn't tell which one, and turned to the screen. He had better things to do than play shrink. The new game booted up, and the game began. Sean moved quickly through the level, getting a few choice guns, then finding Kai, whereas she picked up a sniper rifle and posted up in a secluded spot overlooking the entire level. She zoomed in, tracking Sean's head with every move he made down the level in his jeep. Then a shot rang out, and Sean hit the ground, him stunned for a moment, Kai giving a smile as he respawned. "Nice shot. You a sniper?" "Well, I do alot of things... You'll see."

OOC: So... everyone's just going to wander around or something? C'mon! IC: Sergio grew bored of Lord of the Flies, and stood up from the warm, fluffy couch. Although couch didn't do this piece of furniture justice. Maybe a word like cloud would be more appropriate, Sergio thought to himself. Ever since he arrived, it felt like he was on cloud nine... He walked around the perimeter of the room once more, browsing all the titles that were on the endless shelves. He shrugged, and slid his book back into place, poking his head back out of the room and into the hallway. A woman, with flaring red hair turned her head sharply, examining Sergio. They were both silent for a time, until he cracked a smile, breaking the awkward silence. "Hey." He said. She looked like she wanted to keep walking, not to be hindered, so he wanted to keep things short. "Uh... hey. What's your name?" She asked. "Sergio Alvarez. And yours?" "I'm Imogen Nesbitt. Nice to meet you." Sergio wanted to break with all the formalities; they were annoying after a while. But a necessary evil, he supposed in the back of his mind. "If I may ask, where are you off to? Just exploring?" "Yeah... I wanted to see how large the house is and all. Such a beautiful mansion." "Really impressive. Well, sorry. Didn't mean to hinder you or anything." "Oh, really, no problem. But I'll be off." She said, continuing walking down the hall. Sergio shrugged, remembering that she was Imogen so that he wouldn't have to ask it again. He walked out of the library, and went the opposite direction. He looked around, in every direction, trying to soak up everything that was presented to him. There was so much to know, so much to see, so many people to meet, he didn't want to miss anything. With his eyes moving all around, glancing from each curve in the cieling to the straight angle on the wall, he stumbled upon the spiral staircase. "Ai..." he said admiring the wonderful craftsmanship. He went step by step up the stairs, looking at the lines in each individual piece of wood, gazing in awe at the rich, deep color it held, and soon he was at the top. Then he heard a loud machine gun rattle, echoing rudely in the halls. Sergio immediately hit the ground, and he glanced around trying to find the location of the sound. Then it came again, this time louder. Then a sickening, pulpy smack of a body hitting the ground. "Jesuchristo..." he crawled over to the door he head the sound come from. Then he heard unintelligible babble, or maybe frenzied squeals. He stood up, and opened the door slowly, gazing it. "Oh! I am so very sorry. I thought there was someone actually shooting!" Sergio exclaimed with relief. The stranger laughed, falling backwards on his bed, then beckoned him in. "Dude, I'm playing Halo 2. Sorry about that. The speakers are really loud. I love it. Oh... sorry, my name's Sean." Sergio smiled, looking at the paused game screen, then at the speakers at the side of the enormous television. Then he laughed at himself. "No, I really should've know that. Geez... well, my name's Sergio." He still felt rather embarressed about the whole ordeal. He had no idea speakers could be that loud.

I love OB because it's [relatively] spam-free. The boards are well-moderated. On top of it all, I can submit art, get feedback on it and role play with sophisticated people. Overall, I just like the atmosphere, the people here, and the conversations. Rock on, Otaku Boards.

Well, I thought the site was very interesting, and that the signs don't do anything, except create tensions. I mean, I know that I smiled and laughed when I read most of those signs like "Osama bin Forgotten" and stuff like that. That's only because I don't like Bush. Of course, I would just shake my fist at the sign if a pro-Bush sign were posted up. It wouldn't make me change my mind.

Rion was in shock, looking at her incredulously. Why was she back again? Did he stutter the last time he shouted at her? He felt rather angry, but couldn't help but look confused at the situation. They quickly exchanged words, leaving him all the more dumbfounded. He shook off the thoughts of suspicion, and quickly walked up behind her, calling out. "Lady Ashrel!" She slowed her pace, but did not turn around. Rion caught up, and looked at her, both of them still walking. He felt somewhat guilty, and moreover sad. "Why would I attack you when you're weakened? Like you did to me, taking advantage of my weakened state? I'm not like you. I'm better than that. Please do not hint that I would kill you whiile you aren't able to fight to the best of your ability. I don't know what you're ... doing." He slowed down, allowing her to put distance between the two of the again. "I know she's going to attack again. It is only a matter of time." He said cynically. This was the woman who had taken advantage of him, and then attacked him out of the blue. He would not take more chances. That meant dying, and he could not afford that. He shook the cluttered thoughts in this mind around, trying to get them out of his head. He wandered back into the medical ward, looking for Asher. "Where are the men who were fighting in the recent battle?" He asked a nearby guard. They smirked at him. "They're here. But first, I heard you were the man who was in a duel, and rumor has it that Lady Ashrel wants to kill you." "Yes, I am the man who fought in the duel, and yes, Lady Ashrel wanted to kill me. That's a long story. However, if you would not like to be put on my fatality list, please show me the ward." They chuckled at him, as Rion attempted to make his way past. "Sorry. You're not gettin' through, buddy. What will a noble do to us guards trained in combat?" Rion didn't say a word, only flicked out his knife into his hand, slitting the first guard's throat, and twisting his neck. He stode into the ward, looking at each bed. He could not find Asher, to his dismay, but he did see Jacob, the other rebel fighting against the King. Maybe he will aid the revolt. But I need to make him safer first... "Excuse me, sir, bring this man to respectible, noble lodging. I want him dressed in fine clothes and comfortable. Hurry." He said to a butler in a commanding tone. He needed to move quickly, lest he be spotted by someone of consequence. The servant quickly followed orders, placing him on a stretcher, and he and another man carried him up to a clean, richly furnished room. Jacob was set down on the bed, and undressed out of his tattered clothes, given fresh bandages, and clothed in a rich fabric, similiar to that of Rion's. For good measure, he put a necklace on him, marked with the Marquise family crest. It was as good a disguise as any. He dismissed the servants, and sat next to his bed, waiting for him to wake up. Jacob stirred, rousing Rion from his idle thoughts "Uh... what the..." he groaned, then quickly fell back asleep. Rion stood up quickly, ready to talk to him, but realized he needed more rest. He waited by the bedside for a longer interval of time, until the candles had to be lit, when he awoke again with a start. "Where am I!?" His eyes flicked open, and his body tensed as he nervously glanced around the room, then laying eyes upon Rion's smile. "You are with a friend. But I have a question for you: Are you a loyalist to the King, or a rebel?" Jacob assessed the question, as the wrong answer could kill him. He wasn't quite sure if Rion was a loyalist, but he guessed he was. Such a well-dressed noble must be loyal to his king. However, Jacob remained firm, rather accepting death than denying what he believe in. "I... am a rebel." He said, sighing out the weight on his chest. "Jolly good! So am I. I know you have many questions... feel free to ask them now." Rion sat up at attention.

OOC: Yeah... I'm not sure that my post is true to the floor plans. Sergio's eyes opened wide as they were ushered into the mansion. "My goodness..." he mumbled to himself in amazement. While he was enraptured with the sheer opulence of such a home, everyone slowly dispersed, completely silent. He glanced around the house, then walked up a huge flight of steps and walked down a hall, looking at each door. "And they have my name on it! I'm like... a... movie star!" He exclaimed. He opened, the door, and his jaw dropped. The carpet was completely white, with a flat-screen plasma television going the full length and heigh of the wall, and priceless furniture. Sergio inhaled happily, then walked into the bedroom. The bed was stunning, with beautiful abstracts on the wall, and another door leading into his own bathroom. He set down his backpack and bag on a coffee table nearby, then stepped into his bathroom. There was a white marble jacuzzi large enough for two people, and a marble bathroom counter. Once again, several more abstracts hung neatly on the wall. "I'm in heaven." He pulled out his laptop, and turned it on, but decided against it. He would explore a bit more. Tonight he would use it. But for now, he was slightly hungry, and wanted to see the others. He turned the corner, and a butler was waiting for him. "Would you like anything, Mr. Alvarez?" "Yeah, a... uh..." he said, pondering what exactly he was in the mood for. "Snickers and a Mug Root Beer. Muchas gracias." He expected the man to have to go to a kitchen of some sort for his order. However, he pulled out exactly what he wanted from a silver platter, and handed the food to him. "Wow. Later." he replied, rather awstruck at such speedy service. He turned, and walked into the library. He was confronted by a completely silent, empty room, with each wall completely lined in books. Sergio took a stroll around the perimeter of the room, examining which titles he wanted to read. "Hmm... Lord of the Flies is good for now." He loved the book, and had read it as a child. He picked the book off the shelf, it being in perfect condition. Nodding in approval, and flopped onto a satin couch, laying down and reading it.
You don't get into heaven by good deeds. You get into heaven because you love and believe in God. The proper actions will follow from this. This is what Christians believe, end of story. No amount of good deeds will get you into heaven. If you don't believe in God you're rejecting Him. You can't reject him and still expect entrance to his paradise. You're either in or out. That's all there is to it.
Nope. If you "believe in Christ" but live a bad life, you're going to hell. However, if you truly "love and believe in God," your actions should be loving and virtuous anyway. I [personally] believe that if you live a virtuous life, but don't believe in Christ, He will accept you. He is a just God, and I believe He won't accept a mediocre Christian over a virtuous Muslim. This also stems from my personal belief that everyone's worshipping the same God with cultural differences.

I've noticed that people are still posting their arrivals. You might want to consider sending out PMs to everyone who hasn't posted yet, and tell everyone to make it to the gate. I can see this RPG dying if you wait for everyone to post their arrivals. It's just taking too long.

Rion was captivated by the fight. He had thoroughly hoped that Asher would have beaten Daimon. He felt his heart sink when Daimon landed the final blow, then moved on to Jacob. But he still hoped that someone could beat the king. Jacob was definetly giving him more than a match, and sometimes he even had the upper hand. It was quite a fight, and he bitterly wanted to go into the ring to help his comrades, but he restriained himself. Bearing the sight no longer, he moved his way out of the crowd, and back towards the wall. He stopped dead in his tracks when he saw Lady Ashrel waiting for him, giving him a demonic smile. "Sir Marquise, I'm glad you could make it." Rion took a step back, his left hand idly resting on his blade's hilt. "Get away from me, woman. I do not wish to be near you. You are far too wicked to love. Leave me." She took a few steps foward towards him, and leaned against him. "Oh, Rion, surely you could find it within you heart to ... forgive" she said, whispering in his ear. He heard a swish of air, and he shoved her off, narrowly missing her sword swipe. He drew his rapier, and pointed at her in a defensive position. "I've come to make you mine, Rion. Let's dance." He swung at him several times, all of which he sidestepped. He didn't feel the need to parry any attacks. All of them were diversionary. Rion thrusted once at Ashrel, and she swatted his sword away, then took a step backwards as Rion countered by stepping forward. Ashrel then slid to the left, swiping at Rion's shins, then upwards at his face. Rion jumped over the blade, then parried the attack moving towards his face. He landed, and spun behind her, as they were at unusually close quarters. Flicking out the knife from his sleeve, he place it on her jugular vein, his rapier at the ready in case she moved to attack again. "Yes... like that, Rion." Rion gritted his teeth in anger, willing himself not to be subdued by her peaceful and forgiving manner. He cemented the idea that she was a cold-blooded killer, only wanting blood, revenge, or the king. With all this, he pressed the knife closer to her neck, cutting her shallowly just beneath her vein. "Do not toy with me, Lady Ashrel. If you come at me again, with all the power in my body, I will kill you." "In bed, Rion. You couldn't in a duel. You don't have the heart." She spat at him. Rion shoved her away in disgust, pointing his rapier at her back as she stumbled forward. He put back his knife, and wanted to stab her in the back so desperately, but resisted the urge to. He kept the rapier pointed towards her, waiting to hear what she would say next.

Semjaza, I wasn't talking about Original Sin. I suppose I wasn't very specific. However, I meant the idea that if you hadn't heard the "Good News," even if you were a good person, you went to hell. I think that the Catholics now believe that if you live a good life, but never hear of Christ, you'll still go to heaven.
-
Personally, I think Adahn is right, in the fact that they're not being "good Christians" by not letting her date you. But really, you might want to talk to her about all this. If she really loved you, she would point out to her parents that Jesus wouldn't support of her parents actions, and that she should be allowed to see you. However, I can see this not working, as if they're staunch Christians enough to deny you going out with her, they're not going to listen to her. Not really much you can do here. I wouldn't recommend converting to the Christianity just to go out with her. >:^D Sorry about that.
First off I'd like to ask about "original sin" a catholic belief that says everyone is born with sin. So therefore if anyone is born somewhere that doesn't know about christianity they're going toi "hell". First I'd have to ask if anyones catholic, can you tell me how god would let this happen, but I'd also like to pose a question too you.
Well, I'm not a Catholic, but I can tell you what they believe. Catholic school does that to you... Anyway, if a person has never been exposed to Christianity, and had no way of knowing it existed, but they lived a virtuous life, they're going to Heaven. If they lived a good life, but not wonderful, they go to purgatory. If they've been bad, they go to hell. I believe that the belief you were talking about was revoked a few years, ago, when the Church realized how idiotic the rule was. Not that it actually means anything.
I thought about this a few nights ago, could the one we call God, possibly just be different things to different people. Muslim(sorry if I mispellsed it) have the prophet Mohammed(once again I'm not good with spellings) who is supposed to come back. Something similar to Christianities Jesus.
Yeah, I believe that all religions are just variations that [ultamitely] worship the same God, only with cultural variations laid down back from ancient times. As long as you're living a virtuous life, I think you're going to heaven. Not all religions believe that God will ever return, or if He/She/It ever came in the first place. I think Muslims believe that God would never incarnate Himself, and never will.
Every religon teaches do good things to everyone, most prominent are Buddhism(SP) Christianity, and even Muslim. (except for Islamic extremists who believe be good to people of the same religon, otherwise bomb the crap out of things/people who believe otherwise). But there are major similarities between all major religons. The most similar thing being the fact that everyone should do "good" things and that person will be awarded by going to a "special" place, or if you do "evil" things then your soul will be damned somewhere. I guess I don't really have a question, but I'd just like this to be open to discussions about religion(s).
Yeah, not just Islamic extremists want to bomb the crap out of everyone. Ireland is just one of the examples of non-Islamic extremeists wanting to kill each other. Another would be the Crusades. Yeah, there are major similitarities between [certain] religions, which also strenghtens my view. However, I'm a Christian. Go Jesus!

Well, I've never dyed/bleached my hair ever, and I don't plan too either. You see, I have like a mental attachement to my hair. I was born with a headful of hair, and I've always had it. If someone were to cut my hair as an april fools joke in college or something, I'd [strike]probably[/strike] definetly cause them bodily harm. Urg. Anyway, I have brown, curly hair. It gets straighter in the back, but not the nasty way you're thinking of. No! Get that horrible mental picture out of your head. It's the cool, wavy hair in the back, smoothly transitioning. Hair rocks!

I got a sore throat just last week, and it kept me from going skiing. >_> But anyway, my mom gave me tea with honey and lemon. And I see that didn't work for you. Taking Vitamin C/Zinc pills helps your immune system boost itself (I think), so those would be good ideas. Nasal spray and decongestant clears my nose, and there's always that godawful junk called ... codliver oil. I seriously hope you don't do that ... it smells terrible, but it seemed to work for my friend. But a stuff nose isn't the worst of your problems, and can be solved easily. Just run around, and breathe out of your nose ... it'll clear up. But then again, you'd have to look out for aggrivating your throat with all that breathing from running around. So do it in a warm room. ^_^ And really, sleep will help. Cough drops too. But sleep is the best. Throw your homework to the wind! Get those 8 to 10 hours of sleep a night. It'll cure you.

OOC: I'm somewhat at a loss for my next action. I sorta got left behind... could you fill us in? I'm guessing that the "Sailor Scouts" just transformed. However, I don't know exactly how the guys are supposed to get their powers. And about the name thing... what are the guys called again? Can we make up our own names? Just a little fast I guess...
-
No, it's not about anything. I was just doing the dishes, and decided to take this spazzy-shot. Hence the name. I suppose it was really just a fun piece -- nothing serious.
-
Yeah, now I see what you mean. But I think it would go from too active to too boring. Maybe if the area of intersection were smaller, it would be better? I'm thinking along the lines of moving the slanted staff (isn't that what it's called?) to the left more, ... does that make sense? Theoretically, I think it would look better that way.

Running with the [strike]fad[/strike] idea in the Underground, I decided to make an index for all my past work, as well as a universal thread for future works. In short, I'm going to post all my links to my old pictures (ones made before this thread), and then submit the rest of my work in this thread. This entails both photowork and graphics design. Just as a reference, the bold links are the thread, the subs are the pictures within it. For threads with only one picture in it, there will be no subcatagory. Got it? Good. I'll probably spruce things up later. Right now, I just wanted to get this project behind me. Yeah, it's very true that the banner isn't as good as the bigger one. It was just an experiment that managed to make it off the hard drive and onto the internet. What a lucky image. Anyway, thanks to you both for the feedback. I was thinking that no one would actually post on this one. Thanks. ^_^

OOC: I'm going to just post my journey of getting the mail until I get to the gates. I thought it would be a waste if I did that in two. IC: Sergio sat down at the computer, and opened up his e-mail. Several messages were there, all of which he over looked when he saw another, more interesting subject like. You've won the trip to my mansion! it said, and he knew it was a spam mail. But something kept him from deleting the letter, and he opened it. He read it quickly the first time, skeptical but still hopeful that it was real. I've taken the liberty of sending you $10,000 to your personal bank accounts. "Holy shit. This had better be real." he whispered to himself, biting his lips as he opened up another browser, checking his balance. Your current balance is: $410,432.00, Sergio. "YES!" he screamed at the top of his lungs. It was definetly ten thousand dollars more than the last time he had deposited money. The trip was real. He felt happiness, then urgency. "Gotta pack... gotta pack now." he said frantically as he realized that the mail said he would be getting picked up when he recieved the message. He glanced outside, seeing there was no escort yet. He ran upstairs, and threw in his favorite clothes, entertainment, and laptop in a backpack and briefcase, and clambored downstairs. He checked his kitchen clock, as if it would tell him if the escort were there yet. Smiling with excitement, he walked out the door, locking it behind him He jogged back to the door, and stepped outside. To his surprise, the escort was there, inside the limo waiting for him. Sergio got in back, dropping his backs in the back as he gave a low whistle. "Dios mio, senor, este coche es hermoso! Hm?" "Si, claro, and just so you know, nostros llegaramos al aeropuerto en una hora. Claro?" "Si, si... just drive." He chaueffer stepped on the gas, as he opened up the book for the ride, Miguel de Cervantes. When he looked up from the book, the driver had opened up the door for him, telling him to get out and hurry to catch his plane. Sergio thanked the man, and left for the airport. He caught the plane, easily, and stopped flight attendant. "When will we get to ... Scotland?" "Only an hour and a half. It's a short flight." She walked off, going to give someone a Pepsi for the trip. He dozed off, in an anxious sleep, waiting for when he would arrive at the mansion. He wanted to meet the other candidates, and get settled into such a rich house. He loved luxury, and this would be his chance to soak it up. The plane touched down, and when he got off, another escort was waiting for him. They wasted to time at all, only driving to the secluded spot in the shortest amount of time possible. Obviously they were told to be swift, and had forgotten their manners. Sergio sighed, contenting himself on the fact that he would soon be within sight of the magnificent manor. Looking outside the window, he saw the Atlantic sea, wondering what it looked like on the other side. America was such a talked about place in Spain, but he had only seen photos of the Statue of Liberty, Golden Gate Bridge, or the White House. It was supposed to be a well of nation, but he wondered how they behaved, and spoke. He felt like a dry sponge, waiting to be drenched in a river of new ideas, culture, and people. But he was shaken from his thoughts when the car came to a halt. The door opened once again, and he stared at the cold drivers. He stepped out, and got to the gates. Dropped his bags to his side, and grinned fully at such a large and luxurious manor. He desperately wanted to get inside, to take a bath in a hot tub the size of his room, to read in a library with more books than he had ever seen at once, and to eat in a perfectly furinshed dining hall. He frowned with discontent when he realized that he was still on the other side of the gate. "Ahh well. I'll be on the other side soon." He dragged his bags to the vacant bench, sitting down on it. "But it seems as if I'm the first person here." He shrugged, and reopened his book. It was interesting enough to occupy him until either he gates opened or more people arrived.

Just a quick question. I know that we don't know we have the powers yet, but can it manifest itself without our knowledge? Like... if you're fire, a match flares up, or something like that? Just wondering.

I think it's off to a good start, with several posts made within the first hour of it being opened. However, I think it imperative that a strong plot line emerge early on, to keep people hooked. I've seen it happen too many times, when the creator tries to keep the RPers in th dark for too long. They just ditch it, tired of waiting for the creator to guide them along. I like this RPG. Kuro gritted his teeth in nervousness behind a smile, walking into the class room. He heard the shouts of the girls behind him, and risked a glance back at them. "OOOOoH! There he is!" A few of them whispered, however loudly, to one another. Kuro sat down in his assigned seat, which was to his surprise, right behind Serenity's. He smiled, happy that he had already made a friend in the short time he had been here. What if she had more time to talk to me before school? he thought to himself. He still felt slightly nervous around her, but fought the feeling down. "Do you know anyone going here?" He asked. He hadn't met up with any of his old friends in the class. Maybe they had gone to a different school. "Yeah, alot of people, actually." She said, happy that he was talking and not looking like a lump on a log. "So you're popular and a straight A student? I'm trying for the latter this time." He said, remembering how badly he wanted to do well for himself and his parents this year. He wanted to be a straight A student too. "I... guess you could say that, although that's somewhat of an overstatement. You'll meet more people, I promise." She smiled sweetly at him, the turned around in her seat, and began talking to another girl who was in front of her. He could hear snatches of conversation... mostly words like "cute," "hot," and "date" coming from the other girl. Kuro furrowed his brow, trying to discern if Serenity was the one posing the questions, or the other girl. He pulled his pen out onto the table, and spun in around in fingers, hoping the day would be a good one.

Oh yeah, I'm sorry. I had some computer problem, which are still happening right now. It won't read my keystrokes, so I had to keep hitting the same key over and over to make it type anything. And then my picture wouldn't post right... so I had to upload that to photobucket. It was a nightare... but it's up now. ^_^

OOC: Here are my attacks 1. Earth Manipulation - Kuro can move dirt/rocks/mud into different shapes, or even change the formation of the ground to make an opponent lose their footing. 2.Tremor - A shockwave is sent through the ground, creating a small crevice in its path. 3. Earthquake - The entire vicinity is violently shaken by a strong earthquake. 4. Comet of the Earth - It is a combo attack, when Kuro uses Earth Manipulation to raise earth into the air, Comet of the Earth lauches these at high velocity, at a target. IC: Kuro woke up, early as usual, and decided to take his time getting ready for school. He got dressed, and went downstairs to get breakfast. "Hey Hiro! What's up? Hm?" Hiro, Kuro's little brother, pestered him. "Shut up, Hiro. It's the first day of school. I'm gonna get a 4.0 this time around." He said seriously, finishing off his bagel. He began to chug a glass of orange juice and get his backpack. "Aw... I think you'll do it. Later!" Hiro waved goodbye vigorously at Kuro, who had stepped out of the house, and walked down to the train station. He purchased his fare-pass, and got onto the crowded car. Sitting down in the seat, he looked across the aisle at a kid who was playing with his pen, tapping it across the desk. He dropped it, and Kuro picked it up for him, moving to hand it back. "Naw, that's okay. I don' wanna use that one anymore. Keep it." he said, and turned back to doing better things. Kuro shrugged, and put it in his pocket, after a cursory examination. It was completely black, with three brown streaks running from the tip of the pen to the back. The train let out the passengers, and he walked to school. Surprisingly, someone had already beat him there. It was a girl, but he didn't want to talk to her yet. He kept his distance, watching her and the several other people who stood around her, talking to her. He felt somewhat shy today, and only wanted to observe how everyone acted.
