1. (Ok, everyone, this will be my first RPG so be nice, K?) It is 2067. The world is savaged by war. It started out as just a minor dispute, a slight disagreement on the unfair government funding in the UN. Now, it has risen to nuclear war, and to an extreme no-one would gave dared to dream. Every country in the world is taking part in what might as well be the Apocolypse. Nuclear missles are slowly being replaced by new weapons of biological mass destruction, polluting the land of the country, and the heart of the people, sending them into a long, painful struggle to what will be the end of their innocent lives. It is nobody's fault, no-one wanted what the world has come to, yet every country blames another, to what becomes a paradox from which no living thing can escape... Now to your part. Every country has resorted to conscription, and those not participating will be publically executed. It is now your 'duty' to defend the right of your country and your leader. You have been forced into this Godforsaken war, to perform the tasks of petty foot soldiers. Although weapons of mass destruction can 'solve' most problems that arise, there are some missions which require the common soldier, such as espionage, or the capture but not assassination of a polictical leader. There may be certain alliances between countries. Please PM me if you want to set up an alliance. You will be one of these soldiers, as part of a rudimentary battalion or squad. You can be the leader, or a footsoldier, or a sniper, or even a communications expert (though this doesn't lead to much of a storyline). You can be any specific soldier rank, and be proficiant with any weapons available (be creative!). However, I DO NOT want any Arnold Schwarzenegger clones, walking throgh government property obliterating anything that moves with a huge assualt cannon. You must be realistic, so please get hurt at some point, even die if you want! So, here is the form to fil in, and I will send you right onto the battlefield. I may decide to pit certain countries in operations against each other if this is successful. He has yet to start an actual mission. He personally hates the war, being a pacifist most of his life, yet does what he has to, to protect his family back home. He has also entered for several years in acting school, to perfect his various accents required in the field, and is also proficient with many languages. It is his job within the squad to enter the target building, and either assassinate the leader, or gather sufficent evidence to remove that leader from power. Once this is done, or he is discovered, the remainder of his squad, including his squad leader, posted around the complex, open fire on enemy targets, to capture the building for their own. Once capture, additional forces are moved in by parachute to continue the fight in that country.

Operator(s): None First deployment: Never Accomodation: pilot only Though at first sight the Grand Gundam seems unstoppable, it was unearthed from a collision to earth in FC 60, the time of the Dark Armies, and still has many problems to sort out. It has mainly long-range weaponary, but the horns and fists can provide melee weaponary. OOC: Don't worry, I won't go insane with it! Bio: Ki transfered to Colony militia when the war was in it's infancy. He quickly passed through the ranks to become a specialised commando unit leader, a unit designed for long range, heavy artillery. Ki is not one to think before firing, and constantly puts his life on the line by launching missle strinkes at point blank range in fury! Ki is focused entirely on the task at hand, and all other annoyances, such as social situations and entertainment, must be removed or "his concentration will slip and he will become inefficient". Ki has often been described as more robot than man! When not on leave, he is most likely seen wearing the OZ colony uniform, and carries his father's helmet, with specialised visor for sniper and artillery missions, when not wearing it.

Name: Tanaka, Kisho Occupation: Student, Tech Support for local Cybercafe 'SubZero' Age: 17 Gender: Male Appearance: Kisho Your typical nerd at first glance, Kisho wears glasses and, outside of school, dons a black, long sleeved sweater under a white polo-neck shirt. He had curly, blonde-brown hair, and is more comfortable in sneakers than in more polite, polished black shoes he wears to school. He is also quite tall for his age at 5' 11". Weapon(s): Not much with heavy duty weaponary, but in a bizarre twist of fate, he once came across a medium-sized Tommy Gun in an alley near his house, though he keeps this well concealed. He also carries around a Swiss Army Knife, being conscientious of the recent murder cases. Personality: Much like his appearance, Kisho seems like your typical geek. However, over the years of hanging out with 'the cool guys', Kisho has managed to develop some rudimentary charm and thus has an average assortment of friends. At times, Kisho can be quite sad and depressed, but he most often dispalys a cheery, optimistic side, though this isn't reflected by his speech. His lack of confidence causes him to talk very little, if at all, and he usually stays away from drastic situations. Yet the recent case has sparked off his rather over-active imagination. Bio: Kisho loves to learn. The more he learns, the more superior he becomes over his fellow man! Yet this leads him to investigate the increase on murders with his morbid curiosity. He first came to Takizawa High from Osaka, where his mother died in an accident concerning research into nuclear weapons. He and his father moved away to rid them of the fond memories they held for Yushi Tanaka. His father, Toyo, works as a military consultant for the JSSDF, and so is around most of the time, only having to call in to the centre in emergencies. He is also very fond of computers, and spends most of his time whiling away in front of monitors, fighting others in the only way he knows how, over the internet. He is very passionate about video games, and this brings him to the conclusion that he WILL be a successful novelist. His teachers agree he is well equipped for the life of literature, and he is somewhat of a model student. He has many friends around the school, many of whom could be considered popular, and he has an unshakable interest in the military, which he gets from his mother.
4. Kanaye and Laertes lay in their makeshift bed of leaves outside High Haven's walls. They had attempted to sleep in one of the Inns, but Kanaye never slept more than half an hour, before waking up in a cold sweat, screaming. He couldn't stand to be in a place of such sadness and misery. Laertes would sleep anywhere, he was told, and so was wrapped up in Kanaye's backpack. Laertes was growing with alarming speed. He was now twice as big as when he'd hatched, and was becoming harder to conceal around those who had suffered in the attack, and, like Kurian, now despised dragon-kind. Kanaye's mind turned to his father. So, he had liked dragons after all. so much so, in fact, that he had secretly started a nursery for those who wanted to keep tamed dragons. He guessed it would have ruined his reputation as someone to be feared. And in the village, where crime was high, that meant everything. Kanaye's father must have raised dragons from eggs and trained them to be good, proper little pets. The egg he was given must have been important, he never would have sold his life to save it otherwise. Yet, why had Laertes' father attack them? Surely he had no grudge against Kenta, who obviously meant dragons no harm. Constant thinking on this matter sent Kanaye into a deep, engulfing sleep. And a well recieved one, at that!
5. Kanaye sighed and continued his walk along the streets. It seemed like wherever he went, people refused to be in his company. Perhaps now he was being punished for his earlier mistakes. He was not a religious man, Kanaye, but he felt there was something other than human nature at work in the world, something governing over all humanity. He should really have been good earlier in life. Suddenly, his mind turned back to the post in the ground. His father's ranch. He had always hated dragons, the vermin which scare his customers and burnt his crop, didn't he? {"It seems like you didn't know your father at all."} "Hey, watch it." Kanaye was actually angry at the little dragon's statement. "I knew my father better than anyone else. I know he despised dragons." Laertes turned his snout up. "Maybe this was a part time job that he was swindled into." {"I doubt that."} "Why?" Kanaye said acidly. {"'Cos, if he didn't want the legacy to continue, why did he give you my egg?"} "I don't know!" Kanaye slumped to the ground in annoyance, "Maybe you're special or something." {"Finally, some recognision!"} "No, I mean like, you were from a bigger dragon, or something." {"Bigger dragon?"} "You know, the ones in legends. That Sideria, she's pretty legendary around here. And Plejalta, the oldest dragon alive." Kanaye laughed to himself. "Imagine, you could be the son of the greatest dragon alive"...
6. Kanaye's eyes were wide with fright. What had just occured here? he thought. {"Just a nice man who wants us to help patch things up."} Kanaye frowned. "It's a rhetorical question", he said out loud, he was getting irritated by Laertes constant interruptions on his thoughts. {"Sorry, I can't help it."} Kanaye frowned again. "Perhaps we should go in." {"That seems like the best thing to do."} There was silence and stillness. {"There's nothing else for it. We have to help him"} More silence. {"Well?"} Kanaye was shocked to hear a tone of anger in the young dragon's voice. "OK, OK. I'm just getting ready. We don't know what's in there after all." Silently, he drew his knife from his boot, and gently pushed at the door. There was a slight creak as it drew open everso slowly. Kanaye froze in fear. God, he was pathetic. There was no motion for a while, and the contents of the room ahead were still blocked by the door. "If you're going to come in, do it." Kanaye jumped at the voice from within, but managed to compose himself. He pushed more forcefully on the door, and it came wide open. Seated around a table were a man of gruff appearance, and a young girl Kanaye had seen taming dragons in the main square. "er... hi." he said...
7. Name: Maximillian Ausgafaut Callname: Zorn (German for 'Wrath') Age: 58 Gender: Male History: Max knows very little about his past life. He grew up in Germany as part of a small, well off family in Hamburg. He started his Marksman days shooting game in his father's field. Part of the German defence force during the Civil Uprising of Capitalist Switzerland in 2980, Max got his sniping skills hitting protesters in city streets, and also developed a resistance to the cold hard reality of war. After the uprising, he became a legend in German history, and was part of many successful assassination attempts on Capitalist leaders. He barely escaped a nuclear attack on his homeland after an unprepared population-fixer, and so now wanders the lands, looking for a new sort of game...his fellow man. Up in Anzu, his father, an age old military scientist, watches his son do his dirty work, praying for his success. Personality: Due to growing up in the harsh environment of war, Max became immune to the common effects of war, such as panic attacks and shell shock, and can kill in cold blood with no hesitation. He trusts noone, as noone trusts him. He only really gets along with his father, who promotes his outlandish look on life, and is the only person who really understands him. He does have a soft spot for attractive women, yet he can force this down if need be. He dislikes killing women or children, but will do, for the prize is so great. Apperance: With dark hair and even darker eyes, Max wears an old trenchcoat of a black material. Concealed beneath lies a thickened layer of bulletproof armour, which he wears at all times and can run surprisingly fast in. 8. Kanaye was shocked at the man's silent approach, that coupled with the fact he had been blindly lost in thought. He stammered at the question but forced his lips to comply with his will. "I...I was just out walking. Needed to get away from all that bloodshed." He wouldn't have dreamed of saying something so ridiculously weak infront of a potential enemy, but this man seemed to be a friend. He wore garments of a regal nature, hardly fighting clothes, and looking into his eyes was like looking at the scaled upon his young dragon's form. He was strangely familiar, yet at the same time mysterious unique. Anyone he would have met so far, he would have shrugged of and ignored. That was the sort of person he used to be. He had been told that looks could be decieving. He gruffed up his voice. "I guess I should be asking you the same question." {"He seems nice."} stated Laertes Yeah, but looks can be decieving, thought Kanaye, repeating his earlier thought. {"But still..."} Kanaye realised that they hadn't been paying attention to what the man was saying. He was looking at them expectantly. "err...what?" ...
9. Kanaye glanced after his short term companion with a mixture of awe and relief. This person would have definately been worth hanging around, for his own protection if nothing else. Still, he doubted he could handle such an explosive character. {"Now what shall we do?"} Laertes looked at him with big, bright, curious eyes. Kanaye couldn't help but smile. "I don't know. Are you hungry?" {"Starving!"} Kanaye chuckled. "Then let's find something to eat!" Laertes gave a squeal of delight, before flapping off down the hills to the plains. After getting half-way, he turned his expectantly, watching Kanaye's sluggish progress on his one bad knee. "Hey, what is it that dragons eat?" Kanaye's lack of knowledge in his new-found companion embarresed him. Laertes gave the dragon equivilant of a shrug. {"Anything we find, really."} As if to prove this, he settled on a nearby bush and started eating away at the berries on the bush. His snout became red from the juice of the berries, and Kanaye stopped, a sadness crossing his face. He looked so much like his father in his dying moments, covered in the blood of another. Then he remembered something he had said, and looked up at Laertes, who was tearing through berries at an alarming speed. "Do you know what your father ment when he mentioned that I was the only one he could trust?" {"I'm not sure. I was thinking of asking you."} Kanaye sighed. "It had something to do with my father, about his profession. But he was just a farmer, he had nothing to do with dragons." His eyes turned to a piece of wood buried in the grass. He reached forward and grabbed it, to no avail. It was stuck tight, and it seemed to go deeper into the earth. "Could you give me a hand?" Laertes fluttered over to his side and grabbed the wood in his tiny claws. He pulled, and Kanaye felt his mental strain. Yet, suddenly, the wood was tugged from the ground, sending a shower of dirt over the two travellers. Attatched to the wood was a notice board. It seemed new, and boasted that it was "The centre for all High Haven's news!" A few notices were stuck to it, but one really caught his eye. It was advertising "Tanaka Dragon Nurseries". Kanaye's last name was Tanaka, but he had never heard of such a place. He read down the page before he came to something that made him curse in disbelief. "For more information, contact Kenta Tanaka." His father...
10. Here Kanaye interrupted. Perhaps the anger he would repress from now on could be used for debating purposes. "I will admit, dragons display the signs of beasts, but they show a sentience that only humans show as well." Laertes nuzzled his cheek. "Even if they were classed as beasts, don't they have just as much right to live on this earth as we do?" Kanaye had heard of the Knights of Fenrith, they were guite the legend. Always striving for honour. Yet he disliked them for their quite brutish behavior. He remembered that, not all that long ago, he had dreamed of becoming a knight. He displayed all the correct qualities: physical fitness, a lack of mercy, and above all, a sheer hatred to dragons. But now that was all over, he couldn't understand what he had been thinking. "I suppose you'll just have to forget what you've been taught about dragons, because its all wrong." The morning sunrise over the plains calmed his destructive urge, and he sat on the grassy plains and looked out over the hills...
11. Kanaye had to think about this last statement. "Well, there really isn't much to say. I grew up with my parents in a village just south of here." For once Kurian seemed to be paying attention, so Kanaye continued. "There was an...incident, and my family was killed. I came here to complete my father's dying wish." He cast a sidelong glance at Laertes. "Until his dying wish became a lifelong partner." "Lifelong?" "Yeah, I can't get rid of him." Kanaye chuckled at his wit, but stopped when he saw Kurian's disgruntled look. "We were once alike, you and I. I hated dragons too." Kurian's scowl became more intense. "You have to realise that they're still sentient beings too. They have feelings." Still more intense. There was no changing him. Kanaye sighed. "So how about you? How'd you get into this?" ...
12. Kanaye looked at Kurian in a mixture of awe and fright. Had he ever been like this? He sighed and sat down on the blood-stained floor, Laertes resting on his shoulder. "What do you think will happen now?" he asked tentatively. "I guess the town'll return to normal with time." replied his companion, "I doubt they'll get over this, though." Kanaye made an affirmative noise and looked into the skies. A pair of dragons circled overhead. Kanaye realised his anger at dragons had all but gone. He had discovered they were a truly remakable species, and that incidents such as the one that changed his life were rare. Dragons were like people, they could work for good or evil. In that respect, dragons were very much like people. They grew curious, felt rage and sadness, formed complex relationships... He turned to Laertes, speaking in his mind. Are you asleep? {"No, just resting my eyes."} About before. You said you didn't like your fathers actions against other dragons. {"Hmm"} Well... what about when I went beserk? How did you feel about me? Laertes thought for a moment. {"I guess I was a little sad. You're my family now, and I didn't like the way you acted"} Kanaye looked down in shame. {"But I can't blame you for what you did. You were acting in self defence. I suppose you'd do the same if I was in trouble."} So... you forgive me. Laertes opened his eyes and smiled. {"Of course!"} They were interupted by Kurian's gruff voice. "Hey, get up." ...
13. The silence seemed endless... Kanaye was actually worried at their situation. Even though it was just an already beaten Raider, who would probably die soon anyway, he was against a pacifist and someone who seemed suicidal as it was. Kurian had no intention of backing down, as the crossbow aimed at his chest, so Kanaye had to make the first move, even if it went against every moral fibre in his body. With a yell, Kanaye yanked the crossbow from his own back (an earlier model, but would get the job done) and aimed it furiously in the Raider's direction, "One more move," he said through gritted teeth, "and you will suddenly resemble a hedgehog." Not his best wit, but a good attempt. The Raider laughed through fits of coughing. "Don't you see. I'm dead already. There's nothing you can do to threaten me." He laughed again. "Don't even try to shoot me." "Who said I was going to shoot you?" With a flick of his trigger-finger, Kanaye sent an arrow flying at the Raider's crossbow. The wooden missile shattered the cross-hair, and the previously loaded arrow fell downwards, carving a neat hole through the Raiders foot. Kanaye opened his eyes and smiled to himself. Laertes chittered happily beside him. The Raider looked up in shock, then in sheer fury. He grabbed a knife from his belt and charged toward Kanaye, blood streaming from his wounds. That's when Kurian made his move...
14. Kanaye smiled despite his injuries. "Friend, don't worry." Kanaye inspected the man standing before him. He seemed weakened by the battle, but still very experienced. He would have been a tough challenge for the Raiders. "If you're looking for Raiders, I think we've cleared most of them off." The man, Kanaye had overheard previously the name Kurian, lowered his blade with little reluctance, but his face still stayed vigilant against betrayal. His eyes turned to Laertes. "It's not common to walk the streets with a dragon." he said, "Especially with what's been happening recently." There was no mercy in his voice. "He was aquired under unusual circumstances" Kurian grunted his acceptance, and walked around the deserted street. Kanaye couldn't help see the tint of sadness displayed in his eyes. He leaned against the wall of a deserted building and exhaled deeply. "How was the battle on your side?" Kanaye inquired. "We managed to get most of the people to safety," Kurian stated, "But some casualties were unavoidable." It was obvious he had lost someone in the melee. Kanaye realised for a moment that his personality was returning to it's normal state, before his father died. He now knew empathy, and had an uncontrollable urge to shed his armour and live peacefully. With a twinge of worry, Kanaye wondered if he had the willpower to kill again. "Yours?" Kurian asked. "The same I guess." Kanaye thought of Kuma, and the child he couldn't save. "How long do you think it'll take for the city to return to normal?" Their conversation was interupted by the arrival of a character from down the street. He wasn't using his left leg, and he clutched his chest which was streaming with blood. Yet below the red lay and unmistakable layer of purple armour. His other hand was filled with a crossbow. The lump on his head gave him away as the Raider Kanaye had seen previously. "One more step, peasants," the Raider threatened, "and you will find you have unusual aftertaste of blood"...
15. Kanaye awoke from his slumber amongst the rubble of the once prosperous Inn to find most of the Raiders dead. It was still dark, and fires still blazed, but Kanaye felt like he had slept for an eternity. He tried to get get up, but was hindered by the crystal blue lump on his lap. Laertes' mouth stretched wide open as he yawned immensly. {"Good Morning!"} Kanaye didn't respond, his face still in the grimace from last night's ordeal. Instead, he made his way out of the make-shift cave of rubble, taking his scythe in hand as he left his one true haven. The small dragon followed him out. The blood still trickled down the walls, and flowed in a stream across the pavement down the drain into the sewers with the rest of the rejected human waste. He was surprised the small dragon on his shoulder was unphased by the spectacle ahead of them. {"What shall we do today?"} Again ignoring him, Kanaye went out to survey the damage. He wouldn't be responsible for this infant dragon's safety now. It knew what sort of person he was. On it's head be it if it suddenly found itself dead. Kanaye's thoughts were suddenly broken by the humming of the small dragon. He would have smiled if he was in a different situation. The tune was unmistakable. Beethoven's 9th symphony in D-major. He couldn't help himself. "Where did you learn that?" he said, still trying to keep his aura of melancholy. The dragon giggled. {"You hum in your sleep!"} Kanaye had many habits he wasn't happy sharing. He looked at the dragon, happily singing without a care in the world. Surely if this little monster liked him, he wasn't completely alone. His heart melted and he smiled. "It's my favourite song. I used to get my mother to sing it all the time when I was little." His face suddenly turned sour. "Father never would." He stopped himself, unable to comprehend whant he had just said. His father was his role-model, his inspiration in life. He was a fighter, and would never quit, even when odds were stacked up against him. The dragon was still looking at him. {"I never liked my father either."} "Hey!" Kanaye snapped, "Stop reading my thoughts." {"Sorry."} Kanaye sighed. He was sorry too, though he wouldn't voice it. Deep doen, he knew that dragons were all peaceful at heart. He just couldn't forgive them for the death of his father. {"My father was a murderer"} Kanaye looked at the innocent little creature as it spoke. {"The way he killed that poor raider dragon in cold blood. I'll never forgive him."} Somehow, they had returned to the spot where Laertes' father lay. {"Not that it'll do much good now."} They heard a groan, and turned to see a half-mangled Raider, his purple armour stained with his own blood. "This isn't over!" he cried, "We will get what we want." Under other circumstances (one's Kanaye thought would never turn up now) he would have slaughtered the man right there and then, forcing him from life as painfully as possible. But now he just smirked. "I doubt that." he said, before knocking him unconscious...
16. Kanaye rushed through the streets, his scythe bared and cleaving the life out of anything purple that got in his way. Around him, heads fell to the floor, their eyes blank and lifeless, and limbs flew out of their sockets, coating the decorations of the town with a dark and chaotic red. His mind was occupied only by the task at hand. He only concerned about destroying those who had brough such hell to the occupants of this once pleasant town. Under different circumstances, he would wonder why he bothered to save a town he had no connection to, but his mind was clouded in a mist of blood and vengeance. As he paused for breath, a small blue dart flew ahead of him, the face on its small head that of someone confused and upset. {"Why are you doing such things?"} Laertes asked, unaware of the brutalities of life. "You should leave." {"Why?"} "Because!" Kanaye screamed this last word, "It's not safe here! Go find some other dragons or something, I dunno." His inexperience at communicating caused his rage to double to the point of going beserk. {"Why can't I stay with you?"} Kanaye noticed something in this statement. He looked up at the tiny dragon and saw it's big bright eyes staring at him sadly, tiny tears forming and trickling down his cheek. He was making a short cheeping noise that ripped Kanaye's heart in two. The dragon equivilant of crying. He could no longer run away from the truth. He wept unashamedly. "Because I'm a terrible human being." He collapsed against a blood stained wall and slid to the floor. He gazed at the mess he had caused around the streets of the once calm High Haven. "Look at this. I take pleasure in killing, I cheat, I steal, I'm cruel to others." He paused for breath between sobs. "Those that can tolerate me end up dead." He thought of his family, of his friends who left him, of faithful Kuma, dying to protect him. "I'm not someone you should be around, you'll find a better life elsewhere." An infant cry for help shook his thoughts. A young child had shrank back into a dark corner, pursued by a raider, only to be ripped from life before it had begun. Kanaye tried to get up, but had lost all strength in his legs. He noticed a warrior on the other side of the street, his metal weapon stained with the blood of a dozen raiders. He seemed lost, confused, as if something was clouding his vision. Kanaye struggled to his feet, and before Laertes could say another word, he had slienced the raider once and for all...
17. Light seemed to spill from the hatching egg, as Kanaye gazed upon it in both awe and anger. The raider behind him grinned. "This aughta pay for a vacation or two!" He made a lunge at the egg but Kanaye got there first. In a fell swoop, his home-made scythe cut through armour and skin in a manner that was unexpected for its creation. The now armless raider turned on him, his teeth gritting in fury. With a roar, he lunged at Kanaye with a broadsword, but he missed by far. Kanaye saw his chance and span so that his back was facing the raider, then span again and in a catastrophic backhand swipe, cleaved the raiders head from his shoulders. The dragon, stooping over the torso of his ex-master, roared in anger, and a spurt of fire raced towards Kanaye. He barely ducked in time, before the ground where he was standing was cast into flames. The crystal blue dragon, shining in the firelight, now hovered at the face of the giant dragon. {"Go away!"} The dragon stared in confusion, before lunging its open jaws at the newborn. There was a sudden crash, and Kanaye was forced to the ground in a shower of debris which used to be the house across the street. He opened his eyes to see the indigo dragon, a mamoth in comparison to Kanaye's current opponent, in a death grip with the purple dragon. There was a shower of embers as it suddenly brought flames down upon its victim. When the smoke cleared, it lay on the scorched earth, a halberd gouged deep into its back. It had won it's final battle. ["Understand, human"] it's great eyes were turned towards Kanaye, ["I didn't want it to be this way."] Kanaye felt a deep pain in his heart, which was just as suddenly overcome with anger at the dragon which had almost destroyed him. ["You are the only one I can trust now. You must look after my son."] Kanaye's eyes widened in disbelief. How could a dragon trust him. ["Your father would have wanted you to do this. Make him proud"] And with that, Kanaye's arch-enemy for the last thirty minutes, died. Kanaye hid in the inn in the savaged main square. His breath was ragged and his wounds were deep. There had been many casualties in the fighting thus far. Even his beloved dog Kuma lay as dragon-feed outside the inn, fighting to protect him. He had no friends, nobody would talk to him. He had so may unanswered questions. A tear streaked down his face, and he buried his face in his hands. {"Don't say you have no friends."} Kanaye resented the appearance of the young dragon. "I thought I told you to go away." {"Now, why would I want to do that? You're my family now."} The dragon's mindless optimism cut into Kanaye like a dagger. {"Arn't you going to give me a name"} Kanaye sighed. "Fine" He thought up a list of candidates, before finding one that suited the dragon best. "Alright." he said, "You can be called Laertes" The crystal blue dragon smiled...
18. The crashing at the door some 50 yards up ceased, and the traders got up from their numerous hiding places and checked their bodyparts for absences. "I don't want anything to do with this," said the Boss, climbing out from under his seat, "Get out and take your dragon bait with you." He thrusted the egg into Kanaye's hands and stormed into a room at the back. Isuji bared a knife to his throat. "Better do what he says." Kanaye opened the door a fraction, and scanned the scene of High Haven. The glorious orange sunset was outdone by the fires spreading across the buildings, as several purple dragons and their riders flew overhead. He heard orders being shouted, and a small blue drgaon freezing the raiders with a bizare technique. Kanaye knew he couldn't trust dragons. He silently crept out of the doorway and made for the streets. Suddenly, a large purple dragon landed in front of him, its rider baring a rapier. "Gimme that egg, or I'll take it by force." Kanaye couldn't give up his father's legacy to him, even if it was tainted by the evil presence of a dragon. He laid the egg on the ground, and drew his scythe. He could beat this dragon, no problem. With his father's training, he could destroy all dragon-kind. He was suddenly distracted by a feeling at his feet. The egg was now on its side. Kanaye's face turned white when he saw what was happening. A large crack was growing in the side of the egg, a crystral blue snout forcing through...
19. Kanaye had slept off most of the days events by the time the sun finally lowered to what could be called a sunset. Tonight, he would seek the Black Market. He left Kuma sleeping in the Inn, and went out into the evening glow. As he walked through the streets, he saw the usual sort of people. A pair of travellers in a bar, the odd pick-pocket running around. Somehow, it made him feel calm, and more comfortable. As he turned a corner he noticed a shadowy looking character, standing straight infront of a downward leading door. An assassin, if Kanaye wasn't mistaken. As he approached, the stranger turned to him. "What?" his voice was sleek and elegant, "Don't waste my time." "I come to trade, I have an item which might prove valuable." He took the ball, now somewhat bigger, and gave it too the man. Already, he looked white as a ghost through the thin holes in his head-scarf. He lifted a flap of the velvet up, and immediately put it down again. "Come with me." Kanaye was lead down a set of shadowy stairs to a second door lower down. As they came closer, a voice said: "What? Oh Isuji, its you." "Let me in, you idiot. I need to talk to the boss." said the character obviously called Isuji. They walked into a small room, lavishly decorated, with what could only be described as a throne at the centre. Atop the throne sat a well-fed man, with a look on his face as if he couldn't be bothered to do anything. "Boss," said Isuji, "This man has something that you may be interested in." Finally, thought Kanaye, a potential buyer! "Come forward." said the Boss, his voice deep and gruff. Kanaye came forward and took the ball from its holster. Suddenly, he thought he felt it shudder, but shook off the idea. The Boss looked interested already. "Let me see." Kanaye gave him the ball, and he toyed with it lightly in his hands, a grin spreading across his face. Before he could be stopped, he had started to undo the velvet which covered it. Kanaye dashed forward, hell-bent on keeping his father's promise, but Isuji pulled him back. Kanaye fought at his grip, to no avail. He was about to pull out the knife at his belt when he looked up. The velvet had come off, and the Boss sat, a look of awe on his face, with a fully-developed dragon egg in his hands. If that wasn't enough, he head someone running down the steps towards them. A man burst in. "Boss! There's a dragon outside." The Boss suddenly looked very scared. "He's breaking in..."
20. Kanaye felt the blood trickling down his face, and felt the same wash of fury spread over him as he had with his first encounter with a dragon. There was a commotion about him, as people ran for safety, and armoured guards leapt forwards, halberds beared in a show of malice. They could only do a half decent job, Kanaye thought, as his hands gripped the makeshift weapon that had once been his father's. Releasing the scythe from its holster on his back, he felt the familiar inscription his father had drilled into him, as well as the wood. The indigo dragon was large, and unmistakable as the one who had pursued him from home. "Finally," Kanaye said challengingly, "I was beginning to lose my patience" The was a sudden burst of pain inside his head, and Kanaye felt an unusual second presence within his mind. ["You have something of mine. I want it back"] The dragon was speaking to him. He stared in disbelief. He had always believed you needed a special spell to contact a dragon telepathically. Kuma barked furiously around the dragons legs, and the guards managed to pull together enough bravery to stab the giant beast with force. Although the dragon seemed unphased by this attack, it backed off. ["Remember what I said. I will get my revenge."] With that, it flew into the sky, withs ebony black against the sun. Kanaye looked on with rage. "The vengance will be mine" As he made his way through the crowd, he head of the other dragon attacks. They were getting more common. Just this morning, a giant green had caused some disturbance in the main square. Perhaps now they would realise that dragons were not such good companions after all...
21. Kayane approached the sign advertising that this was 'High Haven'. He grunted unadmiringly, before spotting a shadow in the sky. The same dragon had been following him since he left home, he thought. It was starting to get on his nerves. No matter, perhaps this place will accept a mysterious package for a significant price. There was a jovial atmosphere in the marketplace of High Haven. Brightly coloured flags dotted the streets and many people thronged around the stalls and shops, looking at various trinkets. He went into to the shop that looked the most hopeful, a dragon-themed store, containing little jewelled dragon broaches and belts. "Can I help you sir?" The man was fairly old and wise-looking. "Yes, how much will you give me for this?" He brought out the package, still in its velvet wrapping. No matter how much he looked at it, it always seemed to get bigger in huge steps at a time. It was now the size of a dragon's head, which did not bode well. The man looked thoughtful. "Hmm, lets see." He began to take off the cover. "No." exclaimed Kanaye, "I mus'nt see it." The man looked puzzled but complied, going into the back room to inspect the package. Kuma sniffed at the trinkets and growled. This Kanaye found amusing. Kuma hated dragons almost as much as he did. He stroked his collar to calm him down. The man emerged from the back, his face paler than usual. This came as no surprise, it was the expression he got from everyone who saw the package. "I don't want any trouble. Just take this thing and, for your own sake, leave Haven." Kanaye sighed, and directed Kuma out of the door. Putting the package back in his home-made holster he had made for the item, he looked around for another shop. There were just too many. Behing him, Kuma let out a bark. Kanaye foolishly took this the wrong way, and agreed. "Yeah, this place is too big. We've got a long day a-" He was cut off by the large claw of an indigo coloured dragon hitting him in the face.
22. Name: Kanaye Tanaka Age: 23 Gender: Male Race: Human Class: Farmer, turned rustic warrior. Weapon: A long homemade scythe, with the family motto "Pain is just weakness leaving the body." engraved on the side. It is his pride and joy, owned by his father who, legend says, defeated a band of looters who attempted to break into the house. He also carries a small knife, used for cutting through the tough shells of nuts or slicing fruit, and a crossbow, for nothing in particular. He is trained to use all of these in combat. Partner: NPC Kuma, his dog Personality: At first was kind and caring, never taking things at face value. After the 'incident', however, he became quick to anger, and spent little time thinking things through. His thoughts are of revenge, his goal in life, and spends little time with those he could consider friends. Appearance: Taller than most, and thin, but none would dare call him lanky to his face. He is quite muscular, from all the walking and training, and bares few physical scars or injuries. He has a short goatee, as he can't be bothered to shave, and wears little armour, simply that which he uses for his farm work. Two straps on his back carry his scythe and crossbow, and a holster by his side which contains his knife. He sports a pair of thick leather boots, perfect for walking, and any other equipment he carries in his many pockets which dot his farm clothes. He hardly ever changes. History: Kanaye was born on a farm some eighty miles south of High Haven, in a region known as Erento. He grew up among the peace-loving villagers, along with his sister and father. He caught on quickly to the agriculture trade, and was always keen to work for a living. His father was brawny and tough, but could not be described as cruel. Merely strict. Kanaye strived to be like his father, though he lacked the muscles to do so. His mother had dies when he was six, for reasons nobody seemed able to tell him. There were few children of his own age in the village, so he kept with the company of his beloved dog, Kuma. Yet one night, a wild dragon attacked the farm. Caught in the blaze, Kanaye saw his father standing face to face with the dragon, shouting at it with a rage that scared the young child. "You shall never have it!" his father was yelling, "It is mine!" In one swift movement, the dragon lunged forward. It was on that night Kanaye saw his family slaughtered. After the blaze had receded, Kanaye left the farmhouse with a few provisions and Kuma, who was ever loyal to him. The experience had left his mind scarred, and no more could he stand the company of dragons, both wild and tamed. Upon packing his things (most of which were his fathers, which he carried in rememberance) he uncovered a small, round package labelled to him. The label was from his father, saying it would come to a fancy price on the market, yet he could never see it. There was no enclosed reason. So Kanaye left the village, travelling north. Nowhere he went would take the package, looking upon it with fear. Over time, his kind, compassionate self was repressed into the back of his mind, where he kept it locked away. On his travels he came across a large city, designated on the maps as High Haven. Perhaps this would solve the problem of the mysterious package, he thought. And so his adventure begins...
23. I've been playing for about a month now, and can quite honestly say I am a mediocre player. I'm a big fan of Slivers, and recently of Myrs, valuing green, blue and colourless decks most. I usually collect Onslaught-block and Mirrodin, though I have a few 8th Ed. from the starter pack. I'm willing to play anyone (though beating them is another matter entirely) so look out for 'Phloxcom Industries' online to play.
