Berb, gonna go post a picture so you can see how awesome I look now.
So what made you decide to get rid of it? Also, how short is it now?
  2. I'll see about getting a post in by tomorrow sometime. I have a question first though, about Martian. I'll send you a PM DeLarge and hopefully we can get it worked out.

    RPG Idea
I've been playing Left 4 Dead recently and it occurred to me that I've never really given a zombie apocalypse-style RPG a go. I like the idea, but I don't know how much I'd enjoy writing as "myself".
I know how you feel James. One thing I always enjoy about joining an RP is making my own character for the story. I guess we'll both see how that turns out though. It could be fun.
  4. Same goes for me. I'll see what I can do Wednesday night, but as things go I won't have a good day to post until Thursday. Just letting you know that Martian is still alive though.

    RPG Idea
This is a great idea Vicky, I do have one suggestion. While I do like the idea of a tiny super power of sorts, something that gives each character a bit of an 'edge' over the average bear...or human...or radioactive hamsters from a planet near mars. I kind've like the idea of keeping characters as close to us as possible and eliminating powers all together. My only reasoning for that is that in almost every RP that contains even the sligtest hint of super power, it never fails that at least one person feels slighted because they picked underwater basketweaving instead of the ability to deconstruct atoms with a mere thought, and that persons weaving wood suddenly becomes an ancient magical wood with the ability to make the person weaving with it completly industructable. I know the idea of using OB characters, names at least, has been done but I must say all my time in the boards I've never seen an idea quite as intriguing as this, in this genre at least.
This is so true! XD I can't tell you how many times I've picked the basketweaving power to try to not make my character too powerful. XD Then I usually have to change the power to keep up with everything. Maybe the superpowers could be something that everyone could use? Something anyone can pick up and use, almost like a weapon but not quite I guess? I'll throw some more ideas out here too soon.
  6. I think I'll take you up on that offer soon, Gavin. Martian will need to test out her new boosters when she gets them. If they will be co2 tanks, she might have trouble being around sources of heat. So it will either be a new weakness or Geist might need to supply her with something else. And thanks for the post Vongola. I'll post a follow up by tomorrow hopefully.
  7. There are some really good OP and ED's here so far. Here are two ED's that I like. I'll do the OP's in another post. First there's Welcome to the NHK I think I like this ED for the lyrics more than anything. It's pretty clever and true at the same time. The next one is a bit different. It's Wandering Son's ED The ED itself isn't too special if you haven't watched the anime, but the singer is amazing. Apparently she's done some other really well known ED songs too.

    The Throwaways

Esfir awoke with a start. She had heard a scream. Was it hers? She couldn't remember her dream, but she didn't think it had been a nightmare. She heard the last of the screams and thought it sounded like Hood's voice. Was he okay? Where was he and where was she? It was still so dark. Esfir sat up but she felt like there was something strange. Why did the sound of her own breathing sound so different? She thought back to the bank mission and remembered Starlighter. She had tried to jump over to help Phoenix out and maybe surprise the Big Five member at the same time but that had turned out to be a big mistake. When Phoenix's flame went out of control from Starlighter's flash, both the flash and the flame had hit her and she went flying past Starlighter and crashed into the wall. "Wait, the flame...Did my face get burned?" Esfir thought to herself nervously. She had never been a very vain woman, but Esfir didn't want her looks to match what her powers had made her. Just some freak, to normal people at least. Or that was how she always thought they would act to her if anyone normal found out. Her gloves on her suit couldn't reach her face. Soon, her vision came back to focus and she saw why. She could only see everything in a yellow shade. Esfir let a scream out of her own now. However, it sounded electronic thanks to the speaker on the helmet. A red-headed woman was trying to keep Esfir from taking off the helmet. She had never seen her before, but Esfir finally calmed down. The woman sat on the bed next to Esfir and smiled. "Hello, Collins. I hope you don't mind being called 'Collins'. I just can't pronounce your last name very well and I thought that Collins would fine." Esfir just nodded, eager for an explanation. "My name is Dr. Ambrose. Both you and Phoenix should be thankful that you aren't blind right now. However, I suggested that you be given some extra protection for your eyes so that you can recover without any side effects. Ms. Viedt agreed with me and we both agreed that we would use a part of the original costume that Geist had planned for you. So for now, you'll be wearing a space helmet. It has visors to protect you from too much light and a microphone for communication. You'll be launched to Venus tomorrow." "What?!" Esfir asked in surprise, about to jump out of the hospital bed. "Relax, I'm kidding. I'm trying to get you to relax but I guess it didn't work. Well, just don't remove the helmet until you see me first. It won't be able to come off though unless we need it too. It's stuck on as much as your power inhibitors are. I have to go check on some of your other teammates, but tell me if you have any vision problems right away okay?" Dr. Ambrose stood up, smiling again. Esfir nodded as Dr. Ambrose left her bedside. The doctor didn't warn her to stay in bed, so Esfir tried to stand up. She was a little wobbly and ached all over but she could still stand. She decided to walk around and maybe hide out in the training room. She didn't feel like being seen with her head in a big bubble of a space helmet at the moment. It could be useful against Starlighter in the future though, but she doubted it could stand a full concentrated blast of his powers. No one should have felt like coming in here, after a battle with a Big Five super, but she seemed to have guessed wrong. Closing the door behind her, Esfir thought she had heard someone. "Hello? Is anyone here?" She called out, although she wished she hadn't. Her electronic voice echoed off of the training room walls. The speaker on her space helmet made her sound almost like a robot. Why did it have to be a space helmet anyways? She felt like she was one of those dogs with a cone around her head. Couldn't they have just given her some cool looking sunglasses instead? Suddenly, it came back to her. Addley laying there on the ground after saving her. This brought back a rush of emotions and Esfir sobbed loudly. She no longer worried about her face being burned or not. She was now more worried that Addley was badly hurt somewhere.

Laptops have gotten much, much better just over the past year. I would actually prefer a good one over a desktop. You can still hook up an external monitor, mouse, and keyboard and then take it on the go when you need to without taking up a lot of space. Personally for a Laptop brand I would say Toshiba. They've been in the laptop market for a long time and overall seem to have a better idea of what they're doing but since I haven't checked into Acer or HP in awhile, I could be te...

I should also say, if any of you have any ideas about the future of the RP, either to do with your characters or the RP as a whole, please don't hesitate to PM me with them and we can discuss things and try and work them into the story.
It's okay. It didn't hurt her costume too much. I just thought an astronaut would be an interesting superhero image. Thanks to the little modifications though, I can keep to that. So thanks for your help, DeLarge. I'll probably take you up on your offer to PM you too. I have an idea for Martian's powers, especially with that great power level idea. I would post it here, but I want to work it out first in case it won't fit the RP.
  11.
THE THREAD ISN'T AT THE TOP. OMG. On a different note, I am officially a brony. I have seen all of Season One and anticipate Season Two with great excitement. There's probably a thread for that, but I just thought I'd let you all know I have been converted.
ALSO, THIS THREAD DOESN'T HAVE LIKE A BILLION MORE PAGES. OMG. Really Steph? And there is a thread for it, but I have to ask anyways. Who's your favorite character? Also, how have you been? ^^
  12. It sounds like a good system to use, DeLarge. I've been a bit busy as well, but I should have a good post in soon. Dassem took care of both of our characters nicely. @Lrb: That's really great work. It's one of the best RP banners I've seen so far. @DeLarge: If it's okay with you, I want to add Martian's rocket boosters when they get back to base. They will be co2 based so they won't move a normal person. However, when she uses her powers she should be able to fly. And for public relations, she might wear a space helmet when they're introduced to the public if that's okay too.

    The Throwaways

Esfir ran what she glanced over in her dossier in her head. Besides her reconnaissance position in the team, there weren't too many specific details in there that she didn't already know. She tried to remember what it said about her suit. Hopefully it was something that would help keep her alive. She had managed to dodge the floor from under her, but the bullets from the guns were giving her some trouble. "Subject: Martian. Suit will allow for quicker control over the subject's own gravity field and will possibly allow subject to..." A bullet came to close to Esfir and she would have to save her recollections for later. She squatted down and kicked up, turning off her gravity as she did. The gun opened fire at her in mid-air and she returned her force of gravity back to normal. Doing this, she was able to imitate a moon jump to get around easier. This was pretty risky though, since she couldn't turn quickly and she soon found out how deadly this could be. A bullet hit into her stomach and she fell to the ground. Grabbing her side expecting to feel blood, there was only pain. The suit had stopped the bullet. It was just a stray shot that had happened to hit her. The machine gun trained on the fallen Martian and would have killed her quickly if it hadn't exploded suddenly along with another close by. It seemed like Esfir had Autumn to thank for that. Esfir tried to think of something to say to ease the tension, but she could only manage a "Thank you, Autumn." when she caught her breath. Autumn reached out her hand to help Esfir off the ground, when Esfir suddenly had an idea. Before Autumn grabbed Esfir's hand, Esfir concentrated on using her power. "...increase the range of 'touch' needed to alter other objects' or persons' gravity. Along with a possibility to..." "Let's bounce." Esfir said, grabbing Autumn's hand. Both Autumn and Esfir's feet lifted off the ground. Esfir returned her own gravity to herself quickly and kicked off once again. Steam was now covering the ground, so she thought it would be a good idea to get a better view. She had no idea yet what position Autumn would fill on the team, but her part to play was recon and she would try to see how well she could fill that role. Esfir thought she heard Slate and Ri and headed toward them, taking another bounce with Autumn who was following what Esfir was doing and seemed to get the hang of it. However, as they got closer to Ri and Slate, something else came out of the floor and sprayed Esfir with a thick foam. She had just returned the force of gravity to both herself and Autumn but couldn't see to make the landing. The foam had only hit her, so she hoped that Autumn was okay. Esfir however crashed and rolled to the ground. She couldn't remember the last line in the dossier about her powers, but she wished she had. She couldn't see anything thanks to that foam. Besides the machine guns, Esfir felt like she was fighting the fire department. First water, then foam, what was next, a loud siren?
  15. Also, I forgot to mention this but I think later on or pretty soon, depending on how the missons are, Martian will need some sort of way to get around. She can kick off of things when she's floating, but that's only a one time thing. I was originally thinking of a little rocket booster on a spacesuit but that's out now. So if you have any other ideas how she can get around DeLarge, let me know please. Maybe a self-kinesis power?
  16.
I may not like packing, but unpacking is even worse, in my opinion. I finally counted up all my Band-Aids in my many First-Aid kits. It turns out I have just over 200.
I second that. Sometimes, I end up with a suitcase of my stuff in my room for a day or so. @.@ Counting band-aids? Were you really bored?
  17. Hey DeLarge. Thanks for updating the Backstage thread. I was just wondering, what will Martian's position on the team be? I left it blank in my last post because I wasn't sure. Thanks.

    The Throwaways

Esfir left the briefing room, glad to finally be free of that place. Holding her suit and her dossier had really driven home the fact that they were now superheros. It was a little hard to believe for her before, but there was no doubting it now. She hadn't paid much attention to the Big Five, but if the stories were true, they had to be stopped. Esfir didn't agree with Geist Industries' way of handling the situation, like Autumn. But then again, she and Autumn and all of the others might be all that could stand up to the Big Five now. Esfir clutched her new uniform to her chest and decided to take a look at the dossier on her way to her room. She couldn't make some of it out, since it seemed to be censored, but it was all the information on herself over the years. The date of her pilot's license awarded to her, the date of her plane flight, everything. However, the new information was what interested her the most. Apparently her code name was Martian and a picture seemed to be attached of a failed or a possible future costume for herself. She wasn't sure which it was supposed to be. She would have to ask Cassandra Veidt about it later. Her next surprise was her team position. It wasn't team leader, she wasn't surprised about that. She wasn't leader material. But the position she had received surprised her. She would have to talk to Welsh about it later and make sure it wasn't a mistake. Then it hit her. Welsh. Martian. Could he have given her the code name as an obvious pun on her Russian heritage? Mars was the 'red' planet after all. Esfir shook her head. It would be too silly. Besides, she was a part of Nation's Pride now. The last thing the public would want would be attention drawn to a 'commie' superhero. Esfir headed to her room to change, which she was glad to see it was close by to Autumn's room. Zipping up the last zipper, Esfir set her dossier down in a safe place and walked out of the room in her new uniform. It was as light and easy to move around in as Welsh had said. She wanted to try it out but remembered she couldn't use her powers. "I hope they'll give us a chance to test out our powers together as a team before sending us on that first mission. Unless that is our training." Esfir said to herself, thinking out loud. There was no point going to the gym anymore, she would have to go later. Then, a smell hit her nose and reminded her she was hungry. Soon, Esfir found herself in the kitchen. "Hey, this Martian is starving. Take me to your leader so I can get some food okay?" Esfir said, making a corny joke about her new nickname. She then caught sight of a half naked Tyler and forgot all about her corny joke. "What's going on in here?" Esfir asked, raising an eyebrow. She walked past Tyler and stood next to Cody who was busy cooking. "What are you making? It looks like a stew. Do you need any help?" She asked, looking for an apron.

    The Throwaways

The blue-eyed man went quiet, after a talk about a superhero costume. Esfir tried to force a laugh at his attempt to lighten the mood, but she had waited too long and her laugh cut the silent atmosphere in the room like a rusty knife. Embarrassed, she became quiet and withdrew into her own thoughts. She knew that her powers were real and she couldn't help hearing about the Big Five, since there was always something on the news about the ex-defenders, but none of this seemed real to her right now. She was a new superhero? She was supposed to help kill those gone bad? Explosives in the base of her skull? She couldn't wrap her mind around it and the last one she didn't even want to think about. Standing up from her chair that she was sitting on, in between a blonde girl and a smaller darker-haired girl, Esfir got to her feet and started jumping. She noticed some stares from the girls but ignored them for now. Nothing was happening, so finally she backed up and took a running jump. She wasn't prepared for a landing, so she slammed into the cold floor of the room with a thud. "Are you okay?" A girl's voice asked. Esfir got up slowly and nodded. She came back over to her chair and sat down. "What were you doing?" The same voice asked. It was the darker-haired girl. "I was just trying to see if my powers really didn't work. I didn't mean to find out the hard way though. I'm Esfir Veselov." The smaller girl smiled nervously, pushing some hair out of her face. "Nice to meet you. I'm Autumn Finley." Esfir looked over to the other girl, the blonde. She seemed to have something on her mind but Esfir decided to introduce herself anyways. "Esfir Veselov." She said to the blonde, trying to force a smile. The blonde woman looked over at Esfir. "Oh. I'm Riona Sharp." After the introductions were over, Esfir went back to her thoughts as well. She had been abducted, but she could have been in a worse spot she supposed. Still, having an explosive planted in your skull wasn't her idea of a good day. Also, that ticket to Russia was wasted thanks to Geist Industries. If Welsh wasn't lying about the financial compensation, she would have to take them up on that offer and get her ticket back. At least she had two other girls in the room with her. Normally, Esfir didn't mind mixed company, but being locked in a room like this with a bunch of strangers wouldn't be something she would have liked to do alone. She wasn't trying to flatter herself though, since she wasn't that attractive. But the thought still set her on edge. Esfir turned back to Autumn. "So, Autumn. How did you get here? I was in Russia and had just landed. I barely got a chance to see the sights." Autumn turned quiet at this question and seemed to be a little upset now, so Esfir quickly tried to change the subject. For once in her life, she actually spoke up as well. Esfir stood up from her chair once more. "So, are we going to work for Geist Industries? Do we have a choice?" The silence in the room was too overwhelming for her and Esfir sat back down, wishing she hadn't spoken up after all. She leaned forward in her chair and whispered the next words so that only Autumn and Riona could hear them. "I...I don't know what to do. I'm scared. I'm scared."

    The Throwaways

The jet engines whined loudly. Esfir yawned, having woken up from her nap. It was a long flight to Yekaterinburg so she decided to take a look at her book once more. She wondered what it would have been like to make this flight in a plane of her own, if she owned one. It would have been much longer, but it certainly wouldn't be this boring. Esfir yawned again. "It was nice of them though to buy me the ticket to see Russia for myself." Esfir thought to herself. Her adopted parents, along with some help from other relatives, saved up enough money to send Esfir on a trip to Russia. Even though she had moved away, they still cared about the well being and interests of their adopted daughter. They wanted her to experience first hand the country of her birth. After changing some of her spending money into rubles, she took departed on her long flight to Yekaterinburg. She was very excited to see a new country, even if her Russian wasn't even close to fluency. Still, this plane flight was boring. Esfir gave up on the book and fell back asleep, dreaming that the 747 she was flying in decided to take a detour to the moon. A shaking awoke Esfir from her deep sleep. The plane had put down its landing gear and was on the runway. Giving back the book to the woman who was seated next to her, Esfir thanked her and left the plane. She had traveled light. She wasn't going to be here for long and had decided to buy most of what she needed in Russia. It would be more of an adventure that way. Her adventure started earlier than she had expected. A man was carefully staring at her as she walked by, but when she looked back at him he was talking to a woman in the seat next to him and laughing about something. Esfir shrugged her shoulders. "It must have been my imagination." Esfir left the airport and into a taxi that would drop her into the market so she could buy some things before she found a hotel. The whole time she was in the airport she had had the feeling that she was being watched. It must have been the long flight or something. Who would know she was going to Russia and why would they follow her? Esfir paid the cab fare and looked around the crowded market. She looked around at all of the people and the buildings. Two particular men caught her attention out of the crowd. They stopped to look around when she stared at them. Esfir decided to test her theory and started walking. The men started walking and acting like they were talking and hadn't noticed her. She started walking faster and they matched her speed. Esfir broke into a sprint and the men ran after her. She was definitely being followed. Something whizzed by her head as she turned a corner. They were firing at her. She saw a large cathedral that she might have stopped to admire its beauty. But there was no time for that now. If she could just get inside, then she would be safe. She could float to the ceiling and hide out in the architecture. They seemed to know about her powers though and her plan. "Stop her! Don't let her get inside!" This made Esfir nervous and she sprinted faster. How could they have known about her powers? She was almost there. The cathedral was so close now. A large Russian man walked out in front of the cathedral. She assumed by the way he was dressed he was a priest. She decided to call out for help as she ran past him inside. However, Esfir never got the chance. The priest pulled out a strange looking gun and pointed it to her. "Ð?аленÑ?кая девÑ?Ñ?ка, Ð?Ñ? далеки оÑ? дома" The priest said as he pulled the trigger. Esfir floated unconsciously, hitting her head against the lintel of the cathedral. The two men following her helped the priest get her down and they pushed her floating body into an unmarked white van. Jumping in behind her, the van took off. Esfir's vacation was over but her adventure had just started.
  23. Subject Number: #002 Real Name: Esfir "Collins" Veselov Codename: Martian Age: 23 Appearance: Esfir, 'Collins', #002, or the 'Martian' wearing her space helmet. Esfir's pixie-cut black hair and dark brown eyes along with her nose indicate some mongoloid features in her ancestry. However, her skin color and height suggests that she is mixed. She stands at 170cm and usually wears form fitting clothes, like a cosmonaut would wear when preparing to suit up for flight. Her figure is almost masculine in appearance, being long and skinny but also showing some definition of muscles. Personality: Esfir, when described by most people who've come to know her, would describe her as 'distant' or 'other-worldy'. She tends to stare off at the stars and sometimes seems alien in her display of emotions. She is not normally a quiet person, but doesn't mind not interacting with other people. Because of this she is sometimes mistaken as antisocial. When in reality, she is just fine with solitude at times. Esfir can also be seen as an introvert, since she is often daydreaming of space or lost in her own thoughts. She is sometimes slow to respond, but when she does respond she goes all out to make up for her silence. This often leads her to laughing too loud at a simple joke or agreeing too enthusiastically with a friend's idea. As a child, Esfir was always thought to be simple. Through her adult life though, she has been seen to be quick in her thinking. She usually acts before she speaks her plans which can be troublesome for those around her. Powers/Abilities: All people in their life, even hardened criminals, never break one single law in their life. However, Esfir's powers allow her to break that law over and over again. She can even force other people and objects to join her in her crime. This is the law of gravity. Esfir is able to manipulate the power of gravity a planet has over her or anything she touches. She can then float around as she sees fit. This has been dangerous, however and has caused her to almost float off into space. Esfir is trying to learn to imitate the moon's gravity and needs a spacesuit with rocket boosters in order to use her power to its fullest potential. She usually changes her gravity in an instant so she can float, kick off a wall, then land at a new unreachable destination. Her power to remove another person or object's force of gravity really helps in combat. If she can touch someone or something, then she can use her power and leave them floating off helplessly. She tries to use this power indoors at all time, however, so she won't leave them to a cruel fate in the vacuum of space. With dangerous objects though, she'll do her best to use her power outside so they'll be removed from the atmosphere before exploding or hurting anyone else. Besides having to touch someone or something, Esfir is also limited in that she can't make an item or person weigh more than they should. This is because she can't add mass to what she touches. Other Skills: Without her powers, Esfir is still very agile. She worked hard at getting to know how her body could respond with several years of gymnastics. Thanks to this training she is very flexible and can usually evade obvious attacks. Besides this, she is a trained pilot and has her license. Writing Snippet: In a small quiet town, in a small quiet state, a few houses and a few barns were scattered in each direction. Fences and weeds divided up the large plots of land. In this place, neighbors weren't seen too often but when they were seen it was a celebration. The community, though spread far apart, was closely bound together. Six years ago, a child was added to this community from an orphanage. This child was Esfir Veselov. At her new home, in this farm community, she became known as Esther Collins. Two years later, Esther made a friend. They were both the same age and the only young girls around for miles. Rebecca, Esther's new friend, was more like a sister to her even after they first met. Unfortunately, their friendship and sisterhood wasn't meant to last. On her twelfth birthday, Esther was bored of the farm life. Rebecca didn't mind it so much but listened carefully to Esther's talks about leaving the town and even leaving the Earth and going to outer space. She usually giggled to her friend's stories, but she would always give her a supporting touch and tell her that she would make it there one day. It was almost time for Esther's birthday party when it happened. Rebecca and Esther had gone away by themselves to talk like they usually did, enjoying each other's company. Rebecca's birthday was tomorrow so Esther was more excited about that day than her own birthday party. They talked while Esther's mom baked a cake. "I'm serious, Esther. Your party will be great so don't even think about mine okay?" Esther smiled. "I know, but I still can't wait. Wait until you see what I..." Esther's smile fell away and was replaced with a look of fear as her voice trailed off. Against her will, her legs stopped touching the ground and she started floating towards the sky. "Esther!" Rebecca cried out suddenly. Esther panicked and reached for the hand that was held out to her. Suddenly, she fell back to the ground but not before Rebecca was floating off the ground and was pushed towards the sky. Esther couldn't reach her in time. "Rebecca! Rebecca!" Esther cried out over and over. Rebecca called for Esther but her voice was getting fainter and fainter as she flew upwards, higher and higher. Esther was reduced to tears and screamed wildly. Her parents came out to find Rebecca missing and Esther laying in the grass alone and crying and calling for her friend. Two years later, there was no sign of Rebecca and every one gave up hope of ever finding her. Esther's story sounded crazy, so her parents did their best to keep it to themselves. They imagined that the shock of losing her friend was too great for Esther and that she dreamt the whole thing or made it up to cope with her friend's disappearance. Esther withdrew into a solitude during those two years and was changing from the helpful, cheerful little girl that her adopted parents had raised. They decided to send her off to an aunt in the family who lived far away and in a big city. That way Esther could make new friends. Before she left though, Esther asked her adopted parents for her real name. They gave it to her. Esfir Veselov. She hugged them and thanked them but otherwise left quietly, trapped in her own thoughts. In her new home, Esfir refused to be called Esther by her aunt and only would accept the surname, 'Collins' if she was going to call her by anything else. The aunt was too busy to look after a child though, so she signed Esfir up for whatever lessons she could. Soon, Esfir was taking pilot training courses and gymnastics. With four years of gymnastics and her pilot's license, Esfir left her aunt's home at eighteen and moved in with friends. It was here that she continued her studies, in subjects that both interested her or were necessary for a living. Esfir never really made a good friend like Rebecca again. She didn't try to not be friendly. She just was holding a terrible burden inside of her and couldn't tell anyone about that day or that she discovered years later that what happened was the cause of some sort of superhuman power she had manifested. She had experimented alone with her power, always indoors. But even then, her power scared her. It was too wild and unpredictable. She would just try to forget about having such a power if she could. Esfir didn't realize though, that shortly after her twenty-third birthday, it would be impossible to pretend she was a normal young woman any longer.

Caoilfhionn walked along the busy streets, holding up the hem of her dress to avoid the puddles and mud on the street. She had to do something to get out of this place, or she would never leave. She would always be the young widow, waiting for her love who might still be alive out there somewhere. No one however would take her in or give her a place to stay. There was rarely anyone who wouldn't look down on her, besides the other young ladies but she knew they laughed behind her back when she was gone. No jobs, no chance of a home, there was nothing for her at all except that one path she refused to even think about it. As she was, no one would have anything to do with her except for those men that she wanted to avoid. Stopping and looking up, Caoilfhionn nodded her head to her new plan. This would work. She could be free this way. Jingling the money in her bag, she smiled and said hello to the owner of the store. It took some convincing, but he finally agreed to her offer. Heaven loves ya The clouds smile for ya Nothing stands in your way when you're a boy Clothes always fit ya A young lad walked out of the tailor's shop where a young lass had just gone in an hour earlier. The young lass was nowhere to be seen and wouldn't be seen in this town again. 'Davey' had taken her place. Adjusting her hat, Davey walked the streets quickly, not worrying about mud or puddles. Enjoying the feeling of the new clothes and wondering how well this would work. Right away, she got an offer to join the military. Life is the pop of a cherry when you're a boy When you're a boy You can wear a uniform When you're a boy Other boys check you out You get a girl These are your favorite things When you're a boy Davey accepted the offer and made an appointment to meet with a sergeant major. As she walked along further, a girl smiled at Davey and she tipped her hat and smiled back. Her life was looking up now. Soon, she could start her search for her lover. The army would help her with that, allowing her to have room and board and travel as she marched along in her new uniform and saying goodbye to her civilian life. A few hours later, she was given her drums. Thousands of hours later, she sat on the deck of her new home, the Oceanus. Blood covered her. Some was the blood of the man lying next to her. However, her own was quickly coming out to soon become the majority of the blood on her person. Davey tried to laugh to herself quietly, but it came out as a cough and a whisper. She wondered if she should never have traded in her dress back then for her caps and her drums. She handled her musket and then her dirk with her free hand, letting out another cough.
