I found myself loving to hate Femto from Berserk.
After Griffith's plans for power began to crumble, and he was mutilated by his enemies, he used his warriors that came to save him no less as sacrifice for him to ascend into the God Hand. Femto emerged during the slaughter, leaving Guts alive.
Guts hates him with an extreme vengeance for what he's done, he hates the rest of the God Hand, but Femto most of all. He's the darkest form of evil. And what he's done makes me hate him, but he's still got a draw to him. EVIL!

Love: For this category I would have to say both Lucy and Nyu from Elfen Lied, though they're essentially the same person.
Split personalities aren't all that bad, Nyu is childish and very friendly whereas Lucy is a cold-blooded killer(but not without reason). The two sides have a commonality though, they both love Kouta...lucky him.
Respect: Edward Elric from Full Metal Alchemist. Though stubborn and hot-tempered, Ed's love for his brother and his determination make him both likeable and respectable, at least to me. I like him too because we're both shorter older brothers... :animeangr Dislike: Shinji from Evangelion. He was flawed...well maybe I dislike Ryoko from Tenchi Muyo! more...she's a real annoying to say the least...so I guess in this category Ryoko takes the crown. Like: Sesshoumaru from Inuyasha just rocks. Sesshoumaru antagonizes his younger brother, I antagonize my little brother. He's powerful, elegant, extraordinary....awesome. -
RISK 2210 AD is a board game by Hasbro that is based ont he classic game, Risk. I really enjoy it. It took me like a year to find it without getting it from the internet. I can say it was definitly worth the wait though. I've played 2 matches so far, both lasting over 6 hours each. The world isn't what it once was in the classic game. Nuclear devestation scars the continents, while new colonies have formed beneath the oceans and on the moon. You can have up to 5 commanders, each having its own specialties and benifits. Command cards you can purchase can do many things, ranging from scatter bombing land/water/lunar territories, to evacuating troops to another territory you own if someone attacks that territory, to orbital mines that destroy half of an attackers force after the attack is declared. Wonderful game, I actually like it better than many of my video games. Another awesome game I'm trying to acquire is Fortress America, my dad had it, and he and I loved playing it, until my brother and his friends destroyed hit heh...ciao! Moving this to Otaku Lounge, since Play It doesn't cover board games. - Desbreko

Off of the top of my head I could think of a few movies that I'm really hoping to see this year. Batman Begins - Christian Bale will make a damn good batman, and i need a batman movie that will get my mind off that crappy Geoge Clooney one... Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - Johnny Depp. Tim Burton. Need I say more? War of the Worlds - I haven't seen a trailer for it. But the novel by H.G. Wells, and it having Tom Cruise...it should be pretty darn good. The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy - I watched a couple trailers of it last night, and doesnt look half bad.

GoldenEye was the first of the movies starring Pierce Brosnan, as the wonderful role of Agent 007. He also did Tomarrow Never Dies, The World is Not Enough, and Die Another Day. I myself, enjoyed GoldenEye the most. The mission 10 years before the course of the movie with his good friend, was a really good scene, and thought it sad that James had to lose his buddy. Then after the theft of the 'Tiger' Helicopter the story become more interesting,
especially when the captured Bond meets his 'long dead' friend and, now, rogue agent Alec Trevelyan. 006 is my favorite of the Bond antagonists.
. I personally think that Pierce Brosnan makes the best James Bond out of all the movies I've seen with 007. GoldenEye is the best of the lot though.

The Wing Zero Custom would probably be my favorite gundam. It's got strength, maneuverability, and it's got the flash of beauty a weapon of mass destruction should always have. Flashy appearance + potential for destruction = A+. It's the only suit I really liked...Tallgeese III was darn cool though...Treize Kushrenada = the best.

I've only seen the anime series. I own it on dvd. I've yet to read the manga. Not that I can find it anywhere. Just to get Berserk #4 I had to go on a multiple hour quest through traffic to get my addicted hands on it. I may have to venture into NYC, where I'm told there is a very large store with quite the selection of manga, according to my friend...but before I get any Guvyer manga...I need Berserk #5 before I go through withdrawal T_T

Good summary, junkobakaiba! *applauds* I actually pulled that episode up on my TiVo today and watched it before I had to go to work. I really liked the episode. Full Metal Alchemist has become one of my favorite series actually...I almost got turned off from the series, from what happened in episode 6 or 7, but I continued to watch it, and it's great. I really like the opening to the show as well. One of my favorites! Might drag my brother to the Big Apple Animefest as Al...I'll be Ed...it stinks when your little brother is bigger -_-;;

I'd say about age 6 for me(almost 20 now). My dad and I used to watch Speed Racer and Robotech. Good ol' Sci-fi channel played them in the mornings before I had to go to school. Fond memories now...anime on Sci-fi...but at least its still a good channel.

I'm addicted to a bunch of things...there's Wendy's, well fast food in general. Though I've slowly been taking fast food out of my diet. Sushi! I love sushi. It's yum yum to the max. Anime...though i've been doing good with cold turkey about my purchasing...My manga addiciton's flared up, i've bought 3 manga in less than a week >_>;; yeah... Soda is another addiction of mine, Dr. Pepper makes the world better. And there is always tea. My favorites seem to be green or chai, but...nevertheless if in not drinking soda...its tea...unless its breakfast time...then its either a glass of milk...or a can of soda because i woke up late and have to run to my car to drive to campus....

::thinks momentarily:: Dark Serena - Why? Erica is my pokemon master...plus she's got smarts...and likes to cook!...not that I don't. She enjoys anime and manga and eating healthy! And she's good to talk to and interesting to listen to, and...um, she rocks! We could probably talk...and talk...and talk...and talk ...talking = great. ^_^ Annie - >_>;; well i don't know...she's funny, and knows stuff about fiber optics...that could prove almost needed on a deserted island..she likes to hurt me, and i get a kick of her hurting me...so...oh yeah! we could quote Napolean Dynamite...OH! She likes to read manga too...and she laughs at my necessity for the next Berserk manga... Kitty - Kitty...is well...Kitty! I always manage to call her foxy at least once everytime we talk...and then I get in trouble T_T. But Kitty rocks...Interesting conversations and such...conversation would be needed on the deserted island...or the giant atomic gerbils would invade >_>;; ..can't have that James - James is always good to talk to. He's smart. He's watched the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory trailer a jillion times. So...he's high on the ol' "you're friggin cool" list. He's also a hard worker...and I'll need one of those to build a tree house...XD Dagger - Why? Elfenlied fan...thus...super friggin awesome. We could rock out sitting on the deserted island pondering possible outcomes of the series...discussions = super great. But, if he said he liked Nana better than Nyuu i'd have to hurt him XD Additions! XD Siren - I heart super star destroyers. Alex is pro-Empire, I'm pro-Empire. Star Wars talk would get us long discussions until we build my super star destroyer and destroy rebel scum.

Horror movies are getting lamer. In order to boost the amount of seats each movie gets per showing. Hollywood(in its infinite glory) decided making rated-R movies into watered down PG-13 flicks as the basis of today's horror genre. We do however get some R movies, just not of the quality of the old days. Take for example, the coveted Alien versus Predator movie fans of both series had been waiting for. Each movie series was rated R(except Alien: Resurrection I'm not sure about), and quitely well done. Alien versus Predator came out. I was kind of cautious about seeing it as it was PG-13, and ended up wasting a good 8 bucks on a ticket. It was beyond horrible. It's in the same category as Gigli-horrible. I have to admit, last years Shaun of the Dead was pretty damn good. Before the release of that, I can't think of a good horror movie. (Well, the remake of Dawn of the Dead was alright to me.)

I would have to say my favorite Final Fantasy game would be Final Fantasy 2(IV in Japan I think). It's the one where you play as Cecil, the commander of the Red Wings. I really like the storyline
and how you're betrayed by your king right in the beginning and your fight back against him just rocked.
. Throughout the game, I was kept entertained. I also enjoy Tactics, haven't had a chance to play Tactics Advance yet.

Hmmm... Nana was a good character. But maybe I should've put Lucy/Nyuu > Nana, or even more technical I could've put it like Lucy > Nyuu > Nana. Since Lucy and Nyuu are seperate personalities I just said Nyuu previously to mean the both sides.
Though as the series progressed and Nyuu began to remember things and just blurt out "I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" saying sorry for killing his father and sister. I think they just thought she misunderstood and made herself look like the sister to make Kouta happy. Don't know if I'm explaining myself right...Staying up late does have its downsides...

The Manga and Anime are almost parallel until around Manga #8(I think) when the two split in different directions. That's what I've heard anyway. As for the end of the anime. I would've loved to have the profile behind the door be Lucy. And then Kouta and Lucy living happily together with the others. Yuka was cute and all, but Lucy > Yuka :D

Today I've started to divvy up my video game time between two games. Timesplitters 2 and Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life. In Timesplitters 2, I enjoy playing virus mode, and am currently trying to work on a perfect map for it, and a 'Capture the Bag' map as well. I restarted my Harvest Moon file today. It's the best damn rpg in the world :D

You're right Dagger, it is enthralling and masterfully directed. Might be why it's my favorite 13 ep. series :D . And just for the sake of it... Nyuu > Nana  @Air: From what I could gather from the company's Elfen Lied site, there only appear to be 13 episodes, other sources I went through came up negative on an additional series. But, Elfen Lied is fairly new...so it could be in the works...

QT is really good writer/director. Pulp Fiction is probably my 2nd favorite movie by him. My favorite scene would either be John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson standing there, not being hit with bullets by the bad shot of the hiding guy, or when Travolta and Uma Thurman are dancing. My favorite QT movie would probably be either Kill Bill or True Romance...
-
Natsume would probably be my favorite gaming company. I've played just about every Harvest Moon game for every system and everything about the series rocks my socks. Capcom would be second. The Megaman series, to Streetfighter games, to Resident Evil(RE 4 rocks) all are awesome games. My favorite Capcom game would probably be either Streetfighter Vs. SNK 2:EO, Megaman X4, or Streetfighter Alpha 2. A tied second would be Nintendo. Anything by Nintendo is pretty much quality gaming. Super Smash Bros. Melee, Mario Power Tennis, Animal Crossing, it all kicks butt. Whee!

Knights of the Old Republic was an amazing rpg. Probably me 2nd favorite, next the Harvest Moon series. But KOTOR II, was disappointing. The lightsaber/weapon modifications rocked as did the new color crystals you could use. The story-line didn't have the depth and magic it had in the first. I know they were done by different developers, but they should have stuck with the original crew...The end, at least the light side version, was very disappointing... Warcraft III was a flawed game from the start, the storyline was seemingly alright, but Blizzard kept pushing back and pushing back the release date for so long. I figured to balance it out like Starcraft, yet they had to patch WCIII 5 million times, and I just lost my love for competitive play. Guess I have to stick to the tower defense maps and rpgs.

There are a few series I re-watch usually. Onegai Teacher probably taking the #1 slot. I like the music, the characters, and the storyline. I read the manga too,
the different ending was enjoyable.
Got my Mizuho Kazami figurine sitting on top of my moniter. In the last week I've seen, from start to finish, Elfen Lied about 3 times. I rank it over Evangelion, which I frequently re-watch, so re-playability of Elfen Lied will be higher. I also watch Crest/Banner of the Stars and Lodoss War more than Evangelion.

A good number of people may dislike Guyver, but my dad and I like it. I plan on making a costume of Guyver 1 for the Big Apple Animefest this year. I mean the episode storylines weren't that well planned out.
The only episodes I found enjoyable were when the Hyper Zoanoid Team 5 attacks his school, and Sho/Guyver 1 are almost killed, the next episode when he is killed, and then the last episode when Sho gets impaled but manages to push through the mental torment of killing his father and saving Mizuki

Over the last week, my father and I have watched the 13 episodes of Elfen Lied. I just have to say that it's really one of my favorite series. I know I may get shot for this, but I like it better than Evangelion. There is quite a bit of gorey violence but it's not overboard, the scenes fit the series.
I liked the different routes the storyline took bringing out the story behind the characters involved. The director sparing his daughter, when he told the secretary he killed her, and their eventual coming together and ending in eachothers arms.
. My two favorite characters would probably Kouta and Nyu/Lucy.
The train scene in the later half of the series, when young Kouta, his sister and his father are leaving the area was gut-wrenching. Not too good to see your little sister torn in half and your father beheaded.
Nana's story touched my heart.
Her constant suffering made me feel sad, but the Director's caring towards her made me feel better. Mayu's suffering was a bit hard to watch as well.
. I really thought the series was great and would recommend it to someone who isn't faint of heart. Read your post to post here Dagger :D

In Cowboy Bebop, I think it was previously mentioned,
but the episode where the brother is trying to get the money for his sister's operation really brought a tear to my eye.
Full Metal Alchemist, I think episode 7,
where the father uses his daughter and her dog to make the chimaera, and his attitude on the whole subject, made me just about regret staying up late to watch it.
But probably some of the most tear-jerking scenes I've seen are from Elfen Lied.
Around mid-series, it shows a young Lucy/Nyuu at a children's home, because she has horns makes her the subject of everyone's ridicule, but she finds solace in a puppy she finds that lives outside. The group of boys that constantly picks on her finds out about the small piece of joy she has(courtesy of a girl pretending to be her friend) and the beat the poor puppy into a bloody mess. The scene just about made me sick to my stomach and almost cried. I watched the series with my dad and even he found it upsetting a bit. Another sad scene is in the last episode when the director is holding his daughter, Miriko, I think her name is(diclonius #35) and she holds onto him and tells her that he and her mother loved her very much and then the implanted explosives in her explode as they hold eachother tightly. Even through the sad parts, Elfen Lied is probably my favorite series.
KOTOR II is definitly a must-buy game for the season. I had to sit around in EB for a couple hours(well, I just walked around the mall it was located in during that time) until the shipment came in. I totally got the first copy from the box, one of my buddy's was working. I drove home slapped that disc into my x-box and let the good times roll. Since then I've put in about 15 hours of gameplay, don't think I'm close to completion yet. I am rocking some groovy Sith Padawan robes, and have a nice red aura in the character viewing screen :D. No lightsaber yet, but I only need one more piece. Being evil is fun...

Anime Gundam Seed Vs. Neon Genesis Evangelion: Who Would Win?
Endymion replied to KiraStrike29's topic in Otaku Central
I'm fairly certain that an evangelion would demolish any mobile suit from Gundam Seed. An evangelion's maneuverability surpasses that of a gundam, like ScirosDarkblade mentioned, they're as agile as ninja. A gundam could cut the evangelion's power cord, but they would have to prolong the battle long enough for the plan to work. I'm sure if my cord was severed, that gundam is going to be in a grave in less than 5 minutes... As for weaponry, gundams have that beam-technology whereas evangelions use more modern weaponry. It doesn't matter if your hitting a gundam with a beam or with ammunition, its still going to do damage. Evangelions have their trusty AT fields, so any ranged combat would probably be futile from the gundam when its up. Close combat, I'd say an evangelion would win hands down. Well, unless you have some peace loving, non-violent kitten in the entry plug...
