1. Actually, Gundam X was moved to a morning slot, which led to its poor rating. Contrary to some notions, Gundam X was actually doing quite well alongside Evangelion. However, its move to a morning slot, at 7am or thereabouts at that, hurt the show. Call it dumb decision making on the part of network executives in Japan...
2. Money is not the be-all and end-all of things. It can give you a lot of material things, but then one thing one should ask is if he is really happy about it. There are some people who are really better off with less than more.
3. I like Sailor Mars. Always have liked her. Her dub voice (at least in the DiC dub) fit her. And her characterization wasn't bad, either.
4. Musicals are one of my favorites. I have many favorites: Les Miserables; Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat; Jesus Christ, Superstar; The Sound of Music...there's a lot, really! Phantom of the Opera is another. They're Playing Our Song. Miss Saigon...and the list just goes on.
5. Actually, you can trust the media. It really depends on your perception of reality. If you view media to be untrustworthy, then you won't trust media. To be fair, media has tried its best to be as credible as possible.
6.
Originally posted by Zero-Sama I believe they would be from Gundam X.
Not even close: there's no Gundam from Gundam X in the pic Ice Dragon v2 attached. I can name them from left: MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam (Z Gundam), next to it is the Nu Gundam (Char's Counterattack), then next is the RX-78NT-1 "Alex" Gundam (Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket), then the GP01A Gundam (Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory), then the God Gundam (G Gundam). At the back is Double Zeta Gundam (ZZ Gundam) and Gundam F91 (Gundam F91).
7. The only ones who can change usernames on vBulletin are admins, thanks to a CP that's so comprehensive (well, mostly anyway). Admins on vBulletin have total control of member profiles, so at least theoretically they can do anything to a member's profile (add/subtract posts, change titles, change usernames, edit user access not only to the whole board, but by forums as well, etc.). I am not too sure how this compares with the new UBB version (the old board of PGamers used UBB v. 5.47), but vBulletin gives admins full control of the board.
8.
Originally posted by Zaku II Yeah maybe so. Gundam Wing was good but not great. 0083 is great and Mobile Fighter G Gundam is sa-weet. hopefully it will pick up.
Someone actually liked G Gundam? Wow, that's something. Not too many Gundam fans like that series, thanks to its Dragonball-style tournament format, along with Gundams that power-up like some Super Saiyan. But in fairness to G Gundam, it's actually a parody of such types of anime (meaning, tournament-style).
9. Actully, I made a little error: I was thinking about custom ranks, not custom avatars. Mods can change custom ranks if Adam turned it on, and custom avatars you can probably ask any admin, if they'll let you (since you're mods anyway). Otherwise, you still need to get to 500 posts. Sorry for the error.
10. It's too soon to say that. There are still a lot of Gundam not shown in the U.S. and other countries out there, so Gundam is not yet dead by a long shot. Probably the lack of bishounen is partly the reason why not too many are into Mobile Suit Gundam; after all, the premise of bishounen presence in Gundam Wing is to attract demale audiences to Gundam.
11. It will take me awhile to get to 500. Oh well, that's how it is. Anyway, I know admins and mods don't need to hit 500 to get custom avatars, since they can upload theirs anytime. Unless Adam didn't turn that feature on wherein admins and mods don't have to reach the number of posts set for members. It's easily turned on in the main CP...
12. I don't think it's necessary to even log out. As far as I know, once you leave the board, you're automatically logged out. Anyway, I think that's just one of vBulletin's little inconveniences (like the "Go" button besides the Forum Jump, which is practically almost useless since it goes to another forum by itself once you choose which forum to go to).
13. Something important, like a poll for a new forum, is best stuck so that admins and mods won't have to go looking around if ever the topic gets pushed down. Also, announcements can be made that way, so that members can react to it, and admins can make clarifications to any questions made.
14. It was really pleasing to see a vBulletin board. I'm used to vBulletin, so this is really something that's nice. I think vBulletin is the trend for message boards; quite a few boards have already made the switch to vBulletin (okay, vBulletin, cough up my payment now. I'm done with the advert :D ).

Anime

The Evangelion dub isn't really bad. In fact, it is one of the best dubs out there right now. But I don't think it will be shown anytime on Cartoon Network. Too much issues on that anime, from religious ones to scenes not for kids. You're better off with video, dubbed or subbed. I would think something like Oh! My Goddess! would have a better chance on Toonami.
16. Here is the page where the G Unit characters are: http://www.gundamproject.com/chara/gunit.html. Sorry, it's only character listing, no real info yet. You can also have the info on some of the Gundam and other mobile suit units in that story. If you want to see a model of a Gundam unit used in G Unit, here is the URL: http://www.gundamshop.com/Merchant2/agent.mv?AG=01&SC=PROD&S=gundam&P=GU101 After War: Gundam X was shown in 1996 after Gundam Wing. It has 39 episodes. The main characters are Garrod Ran, Tiffa Adil, Jamil Naete and the wicked Frost brothers, among others. There are two other Gundam pilots, but only Roybea Loy comes to mind. I cannot remember the other one. Just like in Mobile Suit Gundam, Gundam X has its own land battleship in the form of the Freeden. The primary Gundams are the Gundam X, Gundam Airmaster and the Gundam Leopard. The Leopard can probably rival HeavyArms in sheer number of weapons available, and in fact the two almost look alike. Later on, these three Gundams would be upgraded to the Gundam X Divider, Gundam Airmaster Burst and Gundam Leopard Destroy. Gundam X Divider would eventually be given back to Jamil Naete (who originally piloted Gundam X before Garrod stumbled on it much later), while Garrod would pilot Gundam Double X, which he stole from their enemies. Gundam X is the only alternate series to have Newtypes. Jamil, Tiffa, and the Frost brothers are all Newtypes. For a look on the Gundam Leopard and Leopard Destroy, here they are: Leopard and Leopard Destroy. More info on Gundam X can be found in the Gundam Project site.
17. Actually the latest Gundam series is G-Saviour, a combination live action/CG series, which is the first time Gundam became live action. The manga that continues Gundam Wing, though with different characters, is Gundam Wing: G Unit. It features a different side of the A.C. timeline, and you'll see that OZ has also its own Gundams (aside from Epyon). I think there's another Gundam Wing manga called Episode Zero, which shows us the Gundam pilots before the timeline in the anime.
18. Yes, that function really works. It would be amazing to see people actually use it, though...
19. Yes, its animation is well done, but not really surprisingly since it was first made available on video in 1996, so animation by then was on the level of, say, Gundam Wing.
20.
Originally posted by firemac hmm, thta's somewhat wrong is all I have to say
What is wrong? That the post count should be high before getting the custom avatar? The idea there is two-fold: 1) it rewards loyal members who regularly come to the board and, 2) it deters spammers, and would-be spammers. A high post count will, sooner or later, make spammers give up. If they're not banned first, that is.
21.
Originally posted by kuja uh... what about mods/gods/admin uh they wont ever see these ranks... so uh i assume we get them for being the wonderful people that most of us are?
Actually, the board I administer in is like that: the admins and mods can get their custom avatars anytime. And if you set the post count high enough, even the most ardent spammer will give up on some point. Either that, or he'll most likely be banned before he gets there.
22. There are only two other alternate stories in Gundam: Gundam X and G Gundam. Some might add Turn A Gundam to that. And they're not in the After Colony timeline either: Gundam X is After War, while G Gundam is indefinite, though for chronological purposes it's before Gundam Wing.
23. No, it was pikarod. I think I just got around to 4 posts there, hehe! :D
24. No, that's pretty much it. There is no continuation of Gundam Wing, inspite of what some might say. The only sequel it has is Endless Waltz, and that's all there is. Maybe they'll show Gundam X in the future on Toonami...
25. Well, there's really not much you can do for an anime that was made way back in 1979. Its animation was very good for its time, though.
