1. Actually I'm completely blown away. I love it! It's exactly what I imagined. Thank you x1000000. - The Boss
  2. Just a banner and avatar request. Very simple: The Boss Just the Boss' upper body (shoulders and head) for the avatar. For the Banner, the point where the avatar was cut out and down (stopping at her waist showing hands). The Text Cobra Unit black and The Boss in light grey. A very very thin black border. Thats it. The Text posistion doesn't matter. So, thats it really. Thank you in advance to all. - The Boss
  3. Fett has no real grasp of Force Power. Yeah, he saw his father die by the hands of Windu, just as he's seen Vader force choke and the Emperor use lightning. But what would he do if he found a lightsaber twirling at him? Force push was never used in front of him. Neither was any real atheleticism. Vader was horribly mangled and the Emperor is an elderly human. Neither of them have very trained bodies. He may have survived against Vader. But lets seem him take on Vader pre-lava pit. Lets see 'em take on Windu or Master Yoda. Maul would eradicate him, me thinks. I'm sure he could survive against Vader's straight foward fighting style attributed to his aging and destroyed body, but not the acrobatic martial arts that the younger Jedi and Sith used. So, maybe he can fight against a little force power, which Vader probably didn't use, but I don't think he could handle a full force master. As for the Box Set, I don't plan on touching it. I have two special edition "Making Of's"and all six movies already. No real need for me.
  4. The Boss has granted your wish. You now have the beautiful Fei Valentine as your girlfriend. Being the hustler that she is, before giving you the first kiss, she makes away with all your money and possessions, pawns them, and loses all the money in bets and gambling parlers. Darn... I wish I had meat vision!
  5. Notice this is why I put 'die' instead of die. But yes, if those rumors of a Star Wars TV series came into fruitation, I'd like to see that match play out.
Seeing as how his father didn't really fair that well against the Jedi, I'd think Boba would have learned from Jango's mistake.
You'd think he would have a deep rooted hatred for the Jedi, so I don't see why he wouldn't fight one, unless that is, he is just smarter than that. On another note, seeing how
Obi Wan handled Greivous with a blaster pistol,
I think Boba could handle him. Flamethrower, missiles and what not would probably come in handy against somebody with a weak inner core. But then again, Greivous wasn't much of a saber user. He just had his body as an advantage. If he had any real saber fighting skill, he could have handled a Jedi with a single lightsaber, seeing as how he was weilding four at a time. But a full blown force master Sith or Jedi would be a completely different story.
  6. There seems to be a debate about how much involvement one should take in their generations future. But our generation would include dozens of millions of people, so one person's actions, or lack of, isn't going to effect us on a large scale in the future. For me, I side with Derald a little more than others. I feel that each person and individual was born with the right to do what makes them happy and content with their lives. Now if that means taking action to make our generation greater than our predecessors, then more power to you. If that happiness involves your own personal self discovery and individual achievements, then that is your business. For me? I don't meddle with affairs larger than myself, unless they directly affect me. I don't want to be criticized for what my beliefs are, so I keep them to myself until asked about them. So, when I grow older, my ambitions for my life are to learn as much about the world as I can in order to build on to the knowledge I already have. Whether my generation will be the best or worst in a long line of generations isn't going to be decided on what I do alone. If I am a part of something larger, than maybe I will be remembered for that contribution. But when I leave the Earth, I want to be remembered as somebody who did what they believed in, not what my generation's accomplishments were. Yes, I worry sometimes about how our young generation will result. But when I think about it, I think our generation will be in good hands. We're a generation of mostly open minded people, who have tried to correct the mistakes of those before us. Our generation is the first one in the 21st Century, so our generation will be left with major technilogical and scientific advancements that will ultimatley work in our benefit. As long as we learn from our past's mistakes, we should be able to avoid them in our future. That's me.
  7. I'm a big Star Wars movie fan. I'm particular to the Episodes 1-3, I guess because they were made for my generation, and I didn't grow up with the first ones (save Empire Strikes Back, which is actually my favorite older film). Upon watching one the many Star Wars docs which came bundled with one of the DVDs (I believe Ep.3) Lucas stated that he was suprised greatly by Boba Fett's popularity in the film's fan base. He had said something to the effect that if he had for-warning of Fett's popularity, he wouldn't have had him 'die' in such a humiliating way. (i.e.
having his booster malfunction and launch him into the sand monster pit
). Its a good thing that the books and comics kept him alive. I really enjoy Fett as a character, though I am a Sith faithful. Maul and Vader all the way, baby.
  8. My favorite openining themes, and music in general in anime are as follows: Samurai Champloo: Hip Hop has never been used in an anime. In fact, it goes against alot of anime's base audience, who are mostly j-rock/j-pop fans. Then comes along Champloo with Nujabes, Fat Jon, and etc. with these organic, flowing hip hop beats and rhymes that are just soothing to listen to. I particularly enjoy the opening theme, "Battle Cry", and the ending theme for the show's last episode (could I get help with the title?). Cowboy Bebop: I'm usually not a fan of Jazz music, simply because it is very old and very corny at points. But the Seatbelts and Kanno's arrangements are just beautiful. "Tank" and "Real Folk Blues" are great songs, and the individual songs for each episode are also amazing. Great music all around. FLCL: The Pillows. Plan and simple the best J-Rock band in my mind. "Shooting Star" is a great song, as is the ending theme which's name escapes aswell. I love the music in the show all together, just like my previous choices. I can't choose just one out of them all because their all so great and different. Their all just memorable and good.
  9. Based on the real man, argueably the greatest swordsman and samurai of all time. Name: Musashi Miyamoto Age: 24 Species: .... Man. Timeline/Date: The Early years of Lord Tokugawa?s rule. Origin: I travel Japan abroad. I prefer not to relinquish my origins. Special Talents: I am told I am quite the swordsman. Though, I believe that I have leagues of improvement ahead of me. I have developed a school of Kenjutsu of my own, utilizing both the katana and the wakizashi. I have already proven my worth as a great warrior. I only wish to improve. Weapons/Items: My Two Blades. The Katana ?Phoenix Talon? and my wakizashi, ?Phoenix Feather?. Appearance: I am not very concerned with my outward appearance. I am informed quite often of my bad hygiene, but it is of no concern to me, for I am a warrior. I care not of what my opponents have to say. I was scarred badly as a child due to severe eczema. I am quite ashamed of them, for some reason. I prefer to cover them with my hair, which I do not wear in a top knot as other samurai are known for. I suppose this sets me apart from them. I?ve been wearing the same kimono for the past two months. Black split skirt with a drab tan-brown top without print. I wear my tabi (sandals) bare foot. I am told despite my scars and dirty complexion that I am quite attractive, though I find this very hard to believe. I?ll let those around me judge that, though it matters little. Personality: I am called many things. Ungrateful. Lazy. Sloppy. Disrespectful. Dishonorable. I am also called a genius and a legend amongst samurai. This combination may have to do with my pre-battle ?strategy? of frequently challenging venerated masters and showing up hours late. It?s really not on purpose, I just enjoy sleeping in and taking my time. I suppose I understand how this could be misconstrued as psychological battle and head games, but it?s just the way I carry myself. I refuse to compromise my true self. Biography: I was born to a relatively humble samurai family. My mother and father seperated early in my life. I lived normally with my father until I was old enough to travel to see my father, who in turn, taught me all he knew about swordsmanship and the martial arts. I was a very quick learner. At the age of 13, a man insulted my father's ethics. I challenged this man to duel, and killed him. That would be last time I would duel for another five years. When I was 18, I served under Lord Tokugawa as a samurai, and warred to unite the land. My hardships were great at this time, but I pulled through with my spirit and strenght, and saw the end of the war and the bringing in of peace. However, as soon as the time of peace began, I yearned for combat again. Not long after the establishment as Lord Tokugawa as supreme Shogun, I began my warrior's journey in order to sharpen and hone my skills. When I was 21 years of age, I sought out my first duel. It would be against a venerated master, Yoshioka Genzaemon. He was an accomplished samurai warrior and master of his own estate. I'm not sure exactly why he decided to accept my challenge, but he did non the less, and lost. I showed up at the duel quite late I was informed, and I was ridiculed for it. We began our duel, and in a single strike, I defeated him. I did not kill the man, but he retired from swordsmanship from that point on. Last I heard, he became a monk of some sort. Soon after, his son challenged me aswell. I, again, showed up quite late, and defeated his son aswell, though he was not as fortunate as his father. He did not leave with his life. Genzaemon's second son challenged me aswell. This time however, I made sure to be on time. Come to find out, he was waiting for me with several archers and friends of his. I defeated them, and left town at the sound of swishing arrows. I've sense been in twenty-four or so more duels. I hope to continue honing my skills in what ever way you may provide. - Musashi.

The pyramid-like temple was an impressive site. The entire structure was magnificent in scale and artistry. Plant life and moss grew on the old stone monolith, showing it?s age. It was obviously a remnant of an ancient civilizations, a people of great wisdom and talent. The building was adorned with beautiful carvings and statues of Gods, Goddesses, and haunting depictions of humanoid demons, which battled the Gods and Goddesses in the carvings. They had monstrous faces of rapid dogs and clawed hands. ?So... what do you guy?s make out of those ghouls?? Kat questioned in her quirky British tone. ?Not sure. They look pretty nasty to me. Eh?? Alex commented, looking to Michael who was busy staring directly at the creatures with an expression of incite on his face. I?ve seen that those things before... he thought to himself. ?Something wrong?? Alex asked him. Kat was looking at him concerned aswell. Mike looked to them with a hint of caution in his face, ?That thing... that thing I saw last night...? he stumbled with his words for a moment, looking up again at the demon creatures, ?I think it was one of those...? he gestured towards the demon statues. Kat and Alex turned and took a deeper look at the statues. ?That?s impossible, Mike...? Kat replied skeptically. ?Yeah, I mean. Maybe it was the lighting or something. These things are monsters, there is no way they exist. Just monsters dreamt up by some crazy islanders....? Alex added with the intention to ease Mike?s tention. ?I gue-? All of the sudden a vibrating feeling of alarm sprung Mike into action as he spun around with amazing speed and a kick to slam his shin into the body of a rushing dark figure behind him. The dark figure fell to the ground limp with a thud. The three of them stared at it for a moment, all of them in shock of both the creature and Mike?s uncanny sixth sense and reaction time. ?What the hell...? Kat muttered as the three looked down at the dark figure on the ground. ------------------------------------------------------ OOC: Alright, so. We?ve just been attacked by one of those mysterious creatures. Did Mike kill it? Is it still alive? What is it exactly? It?s up to Blayze and Astdis...
  11. Affirmative Action is an iffy subject for me. There are positives and negatives that I see, and I have a hard time choosing one side. I think it should be limited in it's use for one reason, but I think it should be endorsed for others. Like Retri said, the original intentions of AA are for situations as he stated. But then you have to look at the ones who are actually getting the 'short end of the stick'. In America today, the person who is getting cut off more than anyone else is the Caucasian Male. It really doesn't matter where this man came from. He could have come from a ramshackle trailer park in as bad condition as the young boy from Detroit. But because he is a white male, AA will basically disqualify him if he is competing against some one of another race or sex, regardless of qualifications. But then there are good things. AA assuers the hiring of a racially or gender equal work force and assures that race and sex are not negative factors in a CEO's hiring process. It keeps old racist/sexist people from descriminating workers. That is a great positive. But I think as our society gets older and racism fades, I think AA should be toned down little by little. There are pros and cons for it, just like anything. And that's why I just can't come to a positive 'for' or 'against' stand point on it.

  13.
As for Outlaw star and Cowboy bebop I can not see any similaritys the are two anime's in there own.
When I made this statement I meant that as an example. Cowboy Bebop and Outlaw Star are similar in their 'original' concept of putting the wild west bounty hunter in a futuristic space enviroment. Past their, the two series have zero similarities. That is what I meant in making my point. While basic premise and concept may be missing 'originality', the actual execution of the series and the plot line are completely original. That is what I meant.

    That 70's show

I used to love That 70's Show up until the last two seasons when Fox thought it would be a good idea to drop the main character from the show and have the Donna - Eric relationship end. I mean, I could understand that, but why would the group still hang out at Eric's house if he isn't even there?! It is highly confusing to me and since then, the writing has basically gone down hill. I loved the characters, all of them. I thought each of them had a fun personality that led them to make ordinary situations into funny moments. My favorite character's were Hyde, Eric, and Red in no particular order. I really wish Fox would have thought better than to write out the main character, and one of my favorite characters. They also killed the plot's progression and character development by causing several character's to go backwards in their persona's. Donna and Eric's relationship when ka-ploo-ie. Same for Hyde and Jackie. Kelso was constantly an idiot. And Fez's whole progression as a character is messed up. I am content with watching reruns and what not for episodes I either missed, or just particularly enjoyed. That's me.
  15. Uranium Honestly though, I see no point in choosing a 'favorite element'. What would be the purpose of choosing an element you particularly prefer, if elements are something that coincide with one another to equal each other out. Debating on the 'coolness' or importance of the different elements of nature isn't going to resolve in some relevant point or realization, nor does it really provide for decent conversation (at least at the rate this thread is going). Elements are basically meant to coincide with one another so our world will be at harmony. Point blank, that is it. Not one is better than the other. In choosing a favorite, well.... there is no point to it. One might as well choose a favorite number... oh wait... If we wish to keep our beloved Otakuboards as a place where intelligent people may hold enjoyable conversations and debate over relevant issues, I really wish we could choose a better subject matter. Or at least, we should have the courtesy to have better post quality and reasoning in our posts. 16. The rap genre comes under alot of fire in general because of it's violent and crude manner. But then, you must look at where it comes from. The majority of people who do rap are people who come from violent or poor enviorments, and when they rap about sex and drugs and violence, it's because that is where they come from. And when they rap about bling and money, that is because that is what they want. Rap artists don't feed you bull, like some rock musicians do by making songs about whatever, when their real motivations are money and women. Rap artists will tell you straight out what they want. Money, women, and fame. One may argue that rap music is the only genre that has so much violence and what not. But we must look at the excessive sex/drug orgies carried out by the rock and pop bands of the '80s. Van Halen had back stage passes that basically invited all the women to a big sex party backstage. But Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, and what not are celebrated as Rock Classics. Hip Hop and Rap may be a crude, raw sound. But that is exactly what it is meant to be. A cold, unfiltered view of what some of America's ghettos and streets look like, the lives lead by those who are involved in the music. As for Eminem, I have had a falling out with him because I enjoyed his older material better than the sentimentality of his current works. However, as he has said in several of his own songs, he does not mean for the things he says to be taken as serious statements. It can be compared to video games. On GTA, you might go and kill a hooker and run over police officers, but that doesn't mean you really hate cops and want to kill hookers. The man himself says that he doesn't really mean what he says in his more derogitory rhymes, he's just saying them theraputically. I enjoy his older music, and I believe that his rhyming is nearly unmatched today. Rapping is in no way an easy feat, so one shouldn't put it down as a 'talentless way of making money', when the ones who do it seem to have a particular passion about it. Thats my opinion atleast. PS- Not all rap is good. In fact, quite alot of it sucks. You have to look past the main stream.

  18. Agreed. It's rare to find anything really original now a days, simply because almost everything has been done before. It's rare to come across an anime, or anythign for that fact, that is original all together. The last ones that comes to mind for me are Samurai Champloo and FLCL. The reason SC is so original is because it took the Cowboy Bebop musical basis and transfered it to hip hop, which has never really been done in anime. FLCL does it because it is just so very weird. But even though concepts may not be as original, the actual execution of several anime causes them to be original in themselves. Case in point: Cowboy Bebop and Outlaw Star. Both have a very basic principle. Bounty Hunters in Space. Now, past that, how many similarities can you name for those two series? So, even though originality in concept may be waning, there is still alot of room left for originality in execution.

Everybody was fast asleep in the cave as Michael stood in the cave?s mouth, peering into the serene waters of the waterfall. The sound of the crashing spring water was soothing, and calmed his alert nerves. He looked back to see the other survivors slumbering on the rocky ground. He wished he could also have gotten some rest, but he enjoyed his position as the ?protector? of their little tribe. Something that had been slightly imposed on him because of his athletic physicality. He didn?t mind, it was something he felt natural doing, as if combat was engraved into his consciousness some how or another. He peered at each individual with care. Alex, Kat, Avian, Luther, and even Dash. He noticed dry tears on Dash?s face as his eyes glanced over his sleeping body. Michael was curious, but didn?t want to push it. Dash obviously had some issues with his past, and Mike was having a difficult time deciphering his own memories. Kat was seemingly on guard in her sleep, and was Alex. Their unconscious state seemed shallow, as if they were ready to spring into action at any moment. Mike then scanned over to Luther. A curious fellow indeed, Michael made a note to get to know him. Michael smirked and turned back to his post to look out onto the jungle. Darkness had bathed everything around him, only the fire behind him provided a small amount of illumination out into the forest. Animals seemed to be afraid of it, and stood back behind bushes as they observed the humans from afar. Mike smiled and yawned deep. Hopefully he would be able to rest some in the morning. He didn?t want to be alone while asleep, so hopefully somebody would return him a favor. As he continued peering into the woodlands, he noticed a large movement in the forest. Something big was moving around quickly, deep in the jungle. Mike focused in on the darkness of the forest, hoping it was a large jungle cat. Please let it be a jaguar... Mike thought to himself, with a grin on his face. Let?s hope it?s just a JAGUAR.... Suddenly, Mike stopped his mental laughter as a horrifying sight passed before his eyes. He thought he saw the face of a monster speed across the jungle brush... it looked nearly, human... 22. Michael set his back to a now burning building?s skeleton as a new wave of GM?s firing off pop shots at him. He was trapped. He risked a look down the long street way to see a group of seven GM?s encamped. The were using a fallen skyscraper like a make shift bunker. This was bad. Reaching to the back, he had his Gouf toss one of the flash grenades from it?s bandoleer. The small hand projectile crushed into the ground, bouncing a few yards down the street. It caught the eyes of the GM pilots, but they were far to late as the bright flash blinded their suit?s sensors, allowing Michael just enough time to roll out into the street. He began firing his wrist mounted gatling guns, successfully downing three of the seven GMs. ?Back Up! Back Up! Zaku?s one and two, report in on my position.? Michael hollered into his radio, breaking the now useless silence. Not minutes after this, the two aces zoomed into the middle of the streets, machine guns pulled, they began firing into the recovering GM units. They took out one more, but two still remained and returned fire. A blast from one of their beam rifles blew the head of Unit 2, who fell to the ground with a hard crash. Unit 1, in response maxed out his boosters and surged towards the two remaining units with his heat hawk axe drawn, and his spiked shoulder pad charging forward. With this, he destroyed the broken down building they were using as a bunker and slammed directly into one of the GM units, destroying the head and knocking it violently to the ground. He then turned on the standing GM who had drawn a beam saber. Michael heard a ferocious battle cry from the Unit 1 pilot over the radio as he came down with his heat hawk into the shoulder joint of the GM as the GM brought it?s beam saber across the chest of the Zaku unit. Both units were silent for a moment, then a brilliant orange burst of flame exploded from both units, destroying both the mobile suits and the surrounding area. The sergeant could only watch in sorrow and glory as the ace pilot sacrificed himself in battle. He gritted his teeth and saluted in his suit with honor. ?I will avenge you, hero of the Principality...?. No sooner than this was said, a bright beam of light shot through the air and burned through the side of a building just feet away from Michael?s Gouf. He looked through the burning smoke pillars to see the lit eyes of an oncoming mobile suit... Michael knew what he was about to face... the White Devil, Gundam... ?Sieg Zeon...?

But it grows in a wavy fashion, so my head looks like those statues of Apollo and what not. Very interesting I'm told. My skin tone naturally is darker than most caucasians for my Dad's side.
