Wisdom

I agree with you on this subject highly because wisdom and intellegence really are completely different. Intellect is having vast amounts of information, but wisdom is knowing how usfully apply this information to its fullest. There are many people who are smart, and any one could remeber facts of info, but very few are wise enough to use it to your advantage.

  3. These ones just had to make my list, I couldn't leave them out. 11.: 8 Mile- Oh, just one of my favorites. Eminem acts great and I love every single on of the rap battles. And the DVD extras jsut rule all!
I'll spit a racial slur, so sue me, but the black guy doesn't die in this movie...
12.: My Big Fat Greek Wedding- I love this movie because unfortunately, it actually represents the average greek family truthfully, 'cept for the windex thing, but the rest os all true. I am a greek if you havn't figured that out. 13.: Me, Myself & Irene- another one of the best comedites ever. This is single handedly my favorite Jim Carey movie.
  4. TKD was infact created by a General Choi of the South Korean Army, who had studied the art of TaeKyung. When a POW, he studied deeply into different and more Scientific attacks and combined TaeKyung with some Karate. He eventually began teaching other POWs and found a great new martial art. Its true that the moves can lead to broken bones to those who do not know what there doing or those who are not physically prepared. Some practioners have been know to deliver several kicks from up to 10 feet in the air. So it takes more effort than an amateurs first try. Your Cousin should watch what she says, because she was very much wrong.
  5. This has proven to be a highly controversial subject on these here boards. But its something that has further and further molded me into the person I am today. It has changed my outlook on life, changed the way I look at everything, and has very much so inhanced my physical stature and ability. I have for one, studied in the Korean art of TaeKwon Do, the neo-japanese art of Goshinjutsu, and I have boiled it all together with the philosphy of Jeet Kune Do, Art of the Intercepting Fist, which was originally created by the great actor, martial artist, and philospher, Bruce Lee, who is also my hero and my inspiration into martial arts. I would like to know what others veiws of this subject is. Do you study it? What are your thoughts on it? Do you agree with its ways? Tell me any of your thoughts on it, because this is by far my favorite subject to discuss.

  7. Hey, I'm a street baller myself. I try to mimic some of The Professor's and Skip to My Lou's moves best I can while also throwing in my own little tricks. Like one I call the Cash Money, contrare to my nick name, Money Mike, where I slam the ball down, pick it up with a one hand scoop, slam it again with the other hand, pick it up, quickly pass it to the other hand and do a quick between the legs. Intstant confusion. Or if you havn't heard of the Slip and Slide, ti goes like this. You cuff the ball between your wrist and hand while quickly rolling onto the side of your leg and doing a quick roll on your back towards the opposite side of hand you cuffed the ball, and bring the ball over with you to that side and start dribbling again. Its easier to learn if you see it done. I had to be taught too, so you know. Hope that can help.
  8.
Originally posted by Katana DBD, I have a question. Does it necessarily have to be Vash?s son? How ?about daughter? And who?s the mother? Meryl? If so, I?ll change mine to being Wolfwood/Millie?s child? --------------- Name: Nami Age: 8 (Has to be, huh?) Height/Weight: 4? 6??/62 lbs. Weapon of Choice: Whatever this is Attitude: It varies. She?s mostly humorous, but can also be suspicious. Is also intelligent, but doesn?t show it very often. Occupation: None Appearence: Hair: Ear length navy hair (Meryl) with blonde-gold highlights (Vash). Although most of it is pulled behind her ears, some of it brushes across her face. Facial: Sky blue eyes. Slightly rosy cheeks. One of her ears is pierced, the earring being of a small handgun. Dress: Black tanktop and slightly baggy blue jeans. Over her shirt is a tan colored vest. She wears white boots like her mother?s and (sometimes) wears her father?s glasses. (You know, those funky sunglasses every Trigun fan wants.) Biography: Because of the fact that her father is Vash the Stampede, Nami was born as a half plant, half human being. Also because of this, she and her parents are constantly on the move from bounty hunters and murderers. Because of her mother?s job and her dad?s lifestyle, Nami has had a lot of time to herself. In this time she draws and reads, and because she doesn?t go to school, about everything she learns she teaches it to herself. There are two exceptions: Meryl teaching her daughter math and Vash telling Nami about the history of Gunsmoke. Another thing her father taught her was gunman ship. It was Vash that gave Nami her first gun as a child, and it was by him that she learned how to use it. Meryl also taught her how to cook, which is another passion of Nami?s. Nami has often times wondered about herself. Her parents have told her about being part plant, but the thought of who she truly is lies in the girl itself. ---------------- If, in any way, my info doesn?t make sense or if you don?t like it, DBD, than PLEASE TELL ME!
Its fine, but she must take after Vash in several ways. (Superior genes due to you know what.)
  9. Me being a comedic, intellectual, martial artist myself, that kinda curves my choices. 10: Super Troopers- Gotta be the funniest cop movie ever made. Me and my dad saw it and laughed till we cried. Especially at the stoner part. "These snaschberries taste like snauschberries...." 9: Finding Forrestor- My favorite intellectual film. It made me think threw out and it inspired me to begin writing. Also seeing Shaun Conery say "Yo Homey G." is alsways funny. 8: Corky Ramano-This is a little known cult movie starring Chris Katan from SNL. This movie is hilarious. Especially when
the police dog gets high off Coke. Hahaha!
Rent it! 7: The Matrix Trilogy- Just an unbeleivable infuence on me and my freinds. Had every one doing the Matrix dodge till this day! 6: The Game of Death- not exactly the story, but the original fighting scenes (as seen in "A Warriors Journey: Bruce Lee") were enough to make my list. 5: A Christman Story- God! This is the greatest christmas movie ever! Just hilarious in every way! My family watches it all day on christmas eve and changing the channel is FORBIDDEN! 4: The One- My favorite movie by Jet Li. The special effects and everyting where just great! I especially liked the opening sequence. 3: Dogma- Loki and Bardelby's scene's alone were funny in a very ironic way. And any movie with JAy and Silent Bob is automatically awsome. 2: Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back- What did I just say. This is one of the funnies movies I have ever seen. And the DVD deleted scenes are funnier. 1: Enter the Dragon- My favorite movie of all time. The best martial arts film of all time. The best action movie of all time. This movie and its star, Bruce Lee, single handedly got me into martial arts, which happens to be a big thing in my life. I love this movie, even though it was made in '74. Honorable Mention: Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Mallrats, Ultimate X, And 1 Mixtape Tour, American Pie 1&2, Ace Ventura 1&2, Lilo and Stitch, Black Hawk Down, Finding Nemo, The Hulk, Spiderman, Austin Powers Saga, Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, Lord of the Rings Trilogy, and Mystery Men. 10. In the distant, dusty future, human kind has sapped Earth completely of it natural resources. And so, thousands of men and women banded together to start up a plan to give human kind one more chance. One more shot at survival. And so they set in motion Project SEEDS. Immediatley, massive space ships where constructed to send humanity into space in search of a new planet, that they may start over with, and treat right. Soon, the Earth's remaining population was sent onto the massive ships, and frozen in suspended animation, where they slept for years, trusing the futures and lives with the crews of the individual ships... On SEEDS Ship # 004, a strange and unknown event caused the entire fleet of SEEDS to crash land onto a near by desert planet. The planet was so barren, that the humans were forced to leech off of the power of the "plants".... Many years passed by, and the world adopted an american west culture to adapt to the planets condition. But the entire time that humans developed here, a mysterious man. Seeminly super human, lived to see all of it. Around the 134th year, the man, then called Vash the Stampede, destroyed the entire city of July in one ungoddly flash of light. From that point, he was called the Humanoid Typhoon. Then again in 136th year, the town of Augusta was destroyed in the same manner and supposedly by the same man. In the same year, thousands of peoples died by mysterious causes. But all of a sudden, everything stopped. Vash the Stampede aka The Humanoid Typhoon and all of the killings dissapeared. And so the world lived out its years happily, but never forgetting that hellish time.... Today, the 144th Year.... Recentley, the town of LR was tragecally destroyed in bright flash. Thousands died and more became homeless. Traces of the same foul man were found in this event, that foul man known as Vash the Stampede. But if that were true, he would have to be atleast 140 years old. Whichever the case, the one responsible for this incedent has found as soon as possible, by any means necessary... (The Story will unfold slowly threw out the RPG. I left it open for a reason.) ____________________________________________________ Sign Ups- Name: Age: Height/Weight: Weapon of Choice: (Two Max, be orignal) Attitude: Occupation: (Bounty Hunter, Sheriff's Dept., etc.) Appearence: (Pic or description) Biography: (make it make since and oringal) ____________________________________________________ I am going to be playing Vash the Stampede. I would like some one to play Vash's son and if wanted, Wolfwood/Millie's child. IF this is so, your Bio and Sign up in general will have to be above average. What ever the case, the quality of your sign up depends if your going to be part of this RPG. So make 'em good. ____________________________________________________ Rules- 1st: And for most, obey the Adventure Arena rules! 2nd: You must use true facts of the Trigun world in this RPG. No making things up. 3rd: Don't control others characters in serious ways. 4th: Posts must be atleast 5 paragraphs long. No exceptions. 5th: Just have fun. PM me if any problems occur. Seiyuu Casts
Originally posted by Dagger IX1 Well, in the end, it's ultimately a matter of one's personal tastes. There's no clear-cut right or wrong. I have a question for all of you DBZ fans out there: How does the dub compare to the original Japanese? I've heard that the Dragonball dub is atrocious, but since I've never made an effort to follow the series, I can't offer an opinion of my own. ~Dagger~
The dub is meany tiems better just as long as you don't mind missing a few swear words. In the japanese version, all of the saiyans with the exception of Vegeta, sound like small girls. And that is in the Babadi Saga. So, yes it is atrocious.

Maybe your right. But you'd have a hard time picking out any other voice actors for her. You would probably have to take an asian 9th Grade girl to do her voice because that stage is hard to imitate seeing how the puberty process is happening.

    Seiyuu Casts

Well, I'd have to see the original Seiyuu before I could judge, but I find no problem with her voice because KAgome does have some dumb moments. But you also have to see that outside of the Feudal Era, Kagome is pretty much a japanese Valley Girl. But there is also a rule, don't judge a book by its cover. If KAgome came off with a more mature voice, say like Sango's, it wouldn't come off aswell as the original dub.

Well, I got it at a PX on an American Air Force Base in Germany. But I'm sure you can get it at any Suncoast or whatever. I gotta check out WK cuz it seems like an awsome one. OK, another subject. What is the problem with Kagome's voice in the InuYasha dub. People act like it is horrible. Please give me some insight on why everyone but me adn Dagger hate it?

As I asked you to correct me, thank you. But in the anime, your wrong about there age because the back of the VHS's give full profiles on them and the only 15 year old is Quatre. Wufei is 19. But thanks for the info, VK.
  16. Well, I have heard stuff like that before, but they don't keep on because my style of drawing doesn't resmeble YGO in the slightest. When peeps say that, I just come back with, "I hate Yu-Gi-Oh!" which is in every since true and I explain that I am original and watch the more mature shows like Cowboy Bebop. They don't bother me anymore about it. And often times they ask me to teach them to draw. In your case, I suggest you explain to them that there wrong in what they think. And if you hate YGO, tell them that.

Well, Sasuke is very mature for his age. ALso, I beleive Heero is 16 in GDW. Little known fact- Chang Wufei from Gundam is actually 19 and I heard a rumor that he had a wife that was a Federation Pilot. She named her MS Nataku, and she died. Hince the reason he alsways calls his Gundam NAtaku. (I may be wrong, though. Please correct me because I consider myself a Gundam inthusiast.)

Another subject I'm looking to is if and when the Naruto series comes to America, which I hope will, who will play the Dub. I'm hoping that Naruto himself will be played by the voice actor who did Bit Clouds voice in "Zoids". I'm not big on voice actors names, so I can't give there direct names. I'm hoping htat Sakura will be played by the Dub of Ninamori from FLCL. As for Sasuke, I'm thinking Heero Yuy's actor. Any comments?

    Limp Bizkit

I liked a few of there songs. Hell, I loved alot of there songs. Rollin', My Generation, etc. I'll have to check there new album to see if they have improved with there other songs. But I so far like Fred's rendition to "Behind Blue Eyes". He sings it with real feeling. But thats just one song.

    Seiyuu Casts

Well, I agree with you on Orphen, especially those little kids who hate him. But I can't comment on General Gawl because I'm afraid I never saw it. But those are just two fish in an ocean. Check Cowboy Bebop, Yu Yu Hakusho (as adviced by Dan), Trigun, and most deffinetly FLCL. They have great Dub casts.

    Seiyuu Casts

The voice cast for me is a major factor because it brings the characters to life. I only used Seiyuu, Dan, because it was one word and quicker than writing Dub Voice Actors over and over. Verykawaii, give me an example of why you hate american dubs other than "there terrible".

    Seiyuu Casts

I mean both. Dub and Original. So please, do contribute.
  23. Over my days of watching anime, I have noticed an all important factor to my liking of it. The quality of the Seiyuu cast. The cast are the ones who truly bring the characters to life and if there not good, the anime usually falls short for me. Like I love Cowboy Bebop's Seiyuu cast. The characters feel as though there real people. Another I like is Trigun. (Lets just say it makes up for the animation quality....) And one thing I don't get is why people hate Kagome's voice in InuYasha so much. People say that she sounds like a complete airheaded school girl, concerned with nothing but boys.... Which is true. Lets face it people, she's not exactly a philosopher. So please inform me about your problem with that. But there are other shoes that I don't like at all, because of the horrible Seiyuu (and often times bad writing...) Shows like Yu-Gi-Oh (which I dislike other whise) has a horrible Seiyuu (Joey is your stereotypical american in this case) and don't get me started on Yugi's. Another Seiyuu is the japanese DBZ cast. I mean all of the saiyans except Vegeta sound like small girls! And my point stands. Now, I have created this thread for a reason. I ask how important is the seiyuu cast to you? What questions do they ask? Which ones do you love and loaf?
  24. Dude, please, take the hint. Your seriously gonna get shut down. And clean up the grammer. These kind of threads are against the rules and are considered SPAM. I'm trying to be polite and give you and heads up, buddy.
  25. Umm, dude, I hate playing mod, but you really should read the rules because this is a textbook SPAM. I suggest you shut down the thread and give the MODS a break.
