Listening to: Hardcore Radio Channel on iTunes (DJ SILVER LIVE IN TOKYO) IC: Shadow looked at the swimming trunks he had been given. The second they were handed to him, they had an attatchment. :WHAT COLOR?: "Black." he said simply. Loki had a pained look on his face. "Um..." He whispered a color, but Shadow couldn't pick it up. Kia's turned instantly bright green. She didn't even have to say the color. He looked at Xia, whose swimsuit was an unidentifiable color. It was an obvious custom job. "Good idea, Xia." Xia blushed. "Thanks..." Shadow smiled, and said "Alright. We save putting these on until we get to the river, okay?" The group assented, and they left the warehouse, wearing beginner's tunics for disguise. They reached the warpgate, and Shadow looked at the portable map. It did not say the warp key. "Oh... damn..." Shadow said, shaking his head. "We can't make it in if we don't know the password!" Kia stepped forward, blades pointed at the warpgate. She muttered a few words under her breath, and the warpgate was ripped open. They were engulfed by rings, and were suddenly gone. ----- AREA: UNKOWN ----- The Crimson Knight area was small, but eminated a sense of gigantic proportion that overwhemed the party. "Wow..." was all Xia could get out before she was silenced by Shadow. They ran to a hidden area, where Shadow removed his hand from Xia's mouth. "You must be more quiet, Xia..." he said, smiling. He failed to notice the akwardness of his situation until about three moments later. Shadow blushed intensely, "Good Lord, sorry. Shouldn't shush you up like that." he smiled, still bright red. He turned to go, and Xia held his hand. He froze. "Um..." Xia pulled him down and kissed him on the cheek. "In case we don't have the opportunity later..." she said. :animeblus "Um.. did that just happen?" Shadow said, feeling a pang of elation. She rolled her eyes and smacked him in the back of the head. "Of course, Shadow! you're so weird sometimes!" she said as she ran off to meet the rest of the group. Shadow touched his face. "That... I felt it... like it was actually happening..." -----(Listening to Star Guitar by The Chemical Brothers The group found the river without much difficulty. They donned their bathing suits, and began to swim... OOC: Alright, I'm passing on the torch. (Sorry, Natchan if that wasn't a good thingy... O_o seemed inevitable though...)

(Listening to: Sugar by System of a Down) He had been thinking about it all night. He had a few plans, having printed out a few graphical plots for the Crimson Knight area. He had attained them illegally, of course, but these sorts of things happen. He looked over the plans once more, placing the helmet over his troubled head. :WELCOME TO 'THE WORLD'!: :Login-Orange_Shadow: :Pass-******: The rings engulfed Shadow, as he was transported into Xia's storage room. It was empty except for a sleeping Kia, and he decided to scan some of his plans into the World. :Please place information on the scanner...: He put all maps of the Crimson Knights area into his scanner, which quickly buzzed them through. While his helmet was off, Xia logged into the room. "Hey, Shadow! Got any plans?" she asked cheerily. "..." :The avatar you have attempted to reach is currently running an outside operation... the remaining time for this operation is approxamately 1.5 minutes...: Xia frowned. "I'll wait, then..." "Xia?" Shadow replied. "How's it going?" Xia brightened. "Hi! We were worried about you! I just logged off to get a soda! Got anything?" Shadow grinned. He held up the plans, and he opened the file. A map appeared on the far wall of the hideout. It was the plans. Xia was impressed. "So, that's it? It looks a bit complicated... How did you get this info?" Shadow smiled. "A friend. He's an insider of sorts." He looked to Xia. "So, where's that Loki guy?" "He left." "Ah. Too bad!" "So... how do we wake Kia, exactly?" Shadow looked puzzled. "I don't really know... I guess she'll wake on her own... So, what do we do while they're out?" Xia smiled. "I dunno. Whatever you want to do! It may be just waiting..." she looked helplessly at Shadow. "I'm down with that." And so they waited. Shadow could've sworn Xia was looking at him strangely much of the time, but he figured it must have been a result of him being the only "live" thing in the room. Loki logged in, and they discussed plans. OOC: Hey, whoever wants to get all strategic may, but this kinda seems like the kind of thing that gets explained later. ^_^ seeya!

:Listening to Gravity by A Perfect Circle: "So... Loki and Grim have disappeared..." Shadow said, glumly. "That means we're just that much more vulnerable..." A spiral of rings appeared, signifying the appearance of another player. Shadow drew his sword, and was ready to attack until Loki stepped through, brightly smiling. "Hey, guy-" He noticed Shadow with his raised weapon. "Gah!" Loki's pupils dilated. "Oh, hey." Shadow said, lowering the blade. He felt paranoid. Loki calmed significantly. "I ran here as soon as I got your message! We're in some deep trouble with the Crims this time, and I think they mean business. I got word that Crim's account might get nuked!" Shadow looked about the room, balling his fist tightly, a grimace spread across his face. He looked into the corner, and saw a familiar but unwelcome sight. "You KEPT THAT!?" Shadow exclaimed, pointing at the illegal emerald. Xia smiled innocently. "Well... you never know! It could be valuable!" Shadow narrowed his eyes. "It freezes the AI program... You wouldn't be able to sell it!" Xia looked at him protestingly. "Come on! It was a once-in-a-lifetime item!" Shadow sighed, shaking his head. "Okay, nevermind then." He looked thoughtful. "We need a plan to get Grim out of there!" The group grew silent. "You aren't... suggesting we go try to defy the Crims, do you?" Kia asked. Shadow lost his vigor. "You're right... But we can't just leave him there..." He looked broken but determined. Xia walked over to him and put her arm around his shoulder, attempting camaraderie. "It's better one than five of us are deleted. We still have to find out why we can feel these things in here. It's too weird not to explore..." Shadow nodded, but was distracted. He had joined The World to have fun, and he was not having fun. He tried to make friends, but they were all going to be deleted soon. He was now a suspect. Nothing made any sense. "I'm going to log off for a second..." He said. "I'll be back... I have to think outside of my computer." :Log off?: "Yes." ----- Max removed his headset, realizing that the hour was late in the real world. He sighed, and kicked a pillow from his floor onto the wall. He was angry. "God, why do these things always happen to me?" He asked, accusingly.

OOC: I'm sorry for not posting for awhile... school is HELL! :animestun IC: (Listening to Idiotech by Radiohead, and Piano Black by Yoko Kanno) Damn! thought Shadow as the bats came careening down the hallway at Xia. He had a split second to think, and didn't use it. He instead tried to avert the bats from their original target. :ORANGE_SHADOW is hit for 89965 damage!: :ORANGE_SHADOW has- Shadow felt a strange sensation go through his body. What is this? he wondered. His character was dead... but it wasn't returning to his Home Point. He was still standing in place, unable or unwilling to move. He heard a another noise. It was soothing, but it brought him away from the scene. He was now surrounded on all sides by blackness. A strange figure appeared. It constantly changed through sharp blends of color, like a glitch. It extended a multicolored hand to him. :##%#$$^%@%#$%#%$%#$%#$%@##@$!@#@%^^%&^%$^%&*&^: A message appeared, but it was nonsense. :W|$% Y0v 43|\\\9 M3?: Shadow looked closer. The message was nonsense, but it left an impression in his head. Will you help me? The sound was definite. "Who is it I am helping?" Shadow asked, tensing up. A smile. Me. Shadow heard the voice, and it was that of a little girl. He nodded. "What do you need?" Touch-... Hand-... The message blurred into nonsense yet again. Shadow felt his body regain movement. He moved closer to the amorphous bit of programming. He touched its hand, and the message screen was suddenly filled with nonsensical program bits. At the bottom was :ORANGE_SHADOW recieves skill PURIFY: "What?" Shadow said to himself. He looked at his map, and he was nowhere. The map simply said: YOU ARE HERE. Shadow felt his intuition flare. He was suddenly thrust into the middle of the hallway where he had previously been. There was a Crimson Knight there. "Ah, back from the dead, I see?" He said, eying Shadow cautiously. "Yes." Shadow said, and walked off. The Crimson Knight felt inclined to suspend him, just in case, but Shadow seemed confident. He bowed his head and walked the opposite way. ----- Back in Mac Anu, Shadow looked around. He sat on the bridge, pondering his new ability. When he highlighted it, it said "YOU ARE HERE." Then he recieved a message. :You have recieved a message from XIA: :Will you accept?: "Yes." All it said was: Storage house, immediately! He ran to the storage house, to find a Crimson Knight at the door of Xia's room. He tried something drastic. "Umm... Can I ask your help for a moment? I can't get into my storage room." He remembered his friend's password. His storage room was in another server, but could be accessed from anywhere in Mac Anu. "What is the password?" the Crimson Knight asked. "I'll send it through mail." The Crimson knight said "Yes." A brief flash of light sent him to another server, where he would have to spend the next hour trying to get out. The room had a glitch. Shadow cheered. He typed in Xia's password, and was transported instantly into the storage room. "No more Crimson Knight!" He announced triumphantly. OOC: I'm thinking "Purify" is a Data Drain-type technique, but it keeps the enemy at the same level. Good idea? I won't use it until I get your okay, Retro.

0ber0n the Neko replied to Rhym's topic in Theater
Name: Paul O'Bile Avatar: Belenus (The god of Fire and the Sun) Culture: Celtic Description: -Casual- Whiskery beard and mustache. Always wears a suit, gloves, and sunglasses. He is tall, but not noticably so. He isn't a very kind or outgoing person, but is very generous and highly opposed to Auroboros. Short hair, and loafer shoes. -Avatar- A being of light and flame. His hair is long, as is his beard. His eyes are pure light. He is shirtless (sporting many painted designs and tatoos), and has long pants. Personality: Has a very giving, but reclusive attitude. He is powerful, but silent. He prefers to help others, and then keep to himself. Power: The ability to heat anything he holds to incredible temperatures. (The objects retain their basic shape, and glow white-hot) Armaments: A zan-batou (A long, two handed, thin-bladed sword). He also throws Playing Cards should necessity require. Previous Auroboros Encounters: 323 BC - The reign of Alexander the Great... Auroboros had tried to escape by simple means around 356 BC. He influenced a certain Grecian ruler to attempt world conquest. Alexander the Great was his name. Alexander became successful in the endeavors of his lord Auroboros, that is, until he tried to conquer Persia, the one place where Auroboros was to be revived. The Gods grew dire. Many of the Gods were too mighty then to have been able to stop him unnoticed. They distressed over the many ways to stop Auroboros' champion from attaining his goal of World Domination. "What are we to do?" Zeus puzzled "We could kill them...". Hades looked over Zeus' shoulder. "He is far too influential just to snuff out, brother. We're going to need some help. How can we just wipe an entire army off of the planet? They are so very important to the future... this is a puzzle..." Hades offered. Belenus stood. "I will kill him... With the sun." Surely enough, as history holds, Alexander the Great died of a disease caused by heat exhaustion. He never made it to his goal. -
OOC: After leading the newbie through the dungeon and a few interface details of the game, Shadow said his goodbyes and went on his merry way. He kept hearing a birdlike chirping, very strange indeed, but he ignored it... at least until it followed him to Mac Anu. "What the-" :Message to ORANGE_SHADOW from XIA: Hey! We're exploring HIDDEN DARK SIDE AQUAFIELD, so feel free to join us if you want! Hope you'll come. -XIA :End Message: :Do you wish to reply?: "Sure. Start message. I'm coming as soon as I can. Meet you there! End message." ----- Shadow had gated into the area, and loitered for a minute. He figured that Xia was probably down in the dungeon, so he donned his trusty headphones, and drew his sword. He ran in, wondering what she would think if he was too late. ----- The dragon smiled a sharp, toothy grin at the party. Grim was beat up, and so was Xia. She was recovering from a previous attack. Loki and Kia were scraped up, but fairly useless, their MP being sapped away using spells to no avail. "Okay... we need help, fast!" Xia whispered. then she heard the chirping noise. :Message to XIA from ORANGE_SHADOW: "I'm coming as soon as I can. Meet you there!" :End Message: :Do you wish to reply?: "No..." Xia said, shocked at the miracle. Xia's eyes widened as her health suddenly sky-rocketed. Grim was similarly healed, and the MP of the party was also restored. Shadow looked triumphantly over the crowd. He held the bottle casings fo numerous health and mana potions, which disappeared. "Looks like I came at the right time!" Shadow said, wielding his sword heavily. "Grim, I have a new skill. Let's use two at a time. Xia, health support." Kia settled purposefully with her strange blue blades. "Alright, I can use some techniques as well." Grim and Kia took Shadow's cue, and the trio rushed simultaneously at the dragon, swords raised. "Warsword!" They yelled in unison. Xia yelled "Ga Nom!" The dragon's focus was not on them, and it soon regretted that fact. :SPECIAL! Triple strength attack!: :SPECIAL! Quintuple strength attack!: :SPECIAL! SPECIAL strength attack!: OOC: The bell rang! I leave the special strength attack to your descrition! ^_- Sorry if it was a little too "Heroic"...

OOC: Don't ask about the "I'm listening to:" references. I was listening to the song while writing the post. If you have the song, play it, if you don't, you'll live. IC: (Listening to Glory Box and Biscuit by Portishead) Shadow walked around the World, not distracted by missions or quests or events. He simply absorbed the atmosphere of Mac Anu. He sat at the side of one of the rivers, able to glance at passing players. They paid him little heed, except for some new characters, who commented about his headphones. He looked out, scanning the river before him for goblins. He would ask passerbys about the goblins, and they would just laugh. He never figured out the reason for their disappearance. He walked up to the warpgate, and was prompted to enter a passcode. He entered: SPECIAL AMAZING NEWFOUNDLAND and was transported to an area suited for his level. "I think I'll just level today. Not much else to do..." ----- After an hour of playing, he had explored the dungeon, gotten the treasure (which was fairly useless, just gold catchers), and fought as many enemies as his hp would allow. "Hello," a new player said. She was not familiar, and a new model character. "I need help getting through this dungeon... will you help me?" Shadow stood, looking at her intensely. "Sure. Let's go." He walked off into the dungeon, remembering to party up before he did so. The new character followed him closely, occasionally putting the voice recognition software to impure uses by humming pop songs. "Lordy, what a day..." Shadow said, as they entered.

OOC: For simplicity's sake, (and, unfortunately, taking away from the artistic value) I will provide a simple translation, indicating that (and when) Tanken and Namia are speaking Myrhyrr. IC: (Playing "Roads", then "Pedestal" by Portishead) "I'm very sorry... I guess you knew me before?" Reki said, in myrhyrr. "Obviously." was Namia's tart reply. Reki searched his memory, but to no avail. the girl before him, Namia, was not in it. Only one thing dominated his mind. Varkas, the Trade City. "Tell me, where is Varkas? I keep having a feeling that I need to go there." Reki said. Namia brightened up noticably. Maybe he can regain his memory there! "It's our next destination!" Reki smiled. "Ah. Good." ----- News had gotten around camp that Tanken's memory had been lost. Cairo stood, for all to see. "I believe... well, considering the current situation... I think we need to choose a leader." He looked around. People were listening. He basked in the attention, knowing he would soon have to give it up. "I nominate... I nominate Namia." He said, blushing. "She was close to Tanken, and she probably has a good idea of what his agenda was before-" Everyone's eyes were downcast. "Before recent events..." Densi stood, planting his axe's head into the ground. "I second that motion." Sabin smiled in his strange, priestly way. "I third." General agreement was heard, and the concurrence came to Halthan, who was paying little attention. "Wot?" He asked, somewhat airily. "Do you support the notion to place Namia at the head of the group?" Someone said. He sat up. He looked ponderous, looking over at Namia, who was looking at the self-proclaimed Reki. He sighed. "Do wha'ever the bloody 'ell you sees fit. Ye' don't need me ta tell you wha' te do." He said, looking at Namia, who looked away from Reki, turning red. Halthan looked her over, noting the *ahem* prominent body language she was expressing. "I support the motion. There, ye's all 'appy now, I s'pose?" Halthan snapped. ----- Reki looked around, spying Namia's tent. He walked in, without a care. He opened the door,"Hey, where's my tent?" he asked in myrhyrr. Namia looked down dejectedly. "This used to be your tent." she replied slowly. Reki smiled critically. "So you moved in the instant I went out?" he asked, truly believing what he said. Namia looked at him again. "We... shared a tent." She said. Reki looked puzzled, now wanting to believe what he had just heard. "You mean..." She nodded. "Ah..." "Yes... remember any of it?" she asked, hopefully. "What do you think?" "Thought so." she said, faintly. Tanken put his belongings on a table in the tent, catching a glance at the map that lay upon it. Then it hit him "Wha-what!?" He exclaimed in common. OOC: As you may have guessed, he hasn't FULLY recovered.

OOC: this will be my last post for the weekend. IC: Xia ran ahead. Shadow sighed and reassured himself of his fears. "Meh. She'll never think I'm cool." He muttered to himself. He found himself drawn back into the dungeon. He looked back longingly. He saw the pinpoint of light that Xia approached. He followed her, running after her, and making good use of his new speed. He caught up, using only a brief moment to look at the looke of pure haapiness on her face. I bet she likes Grim or something... He thought, looking back to the light which was no longer there. Instead, a behemoth guarded the exit. Xia squinted, and saw it. They both stopped before it noticed them. Shadow looked grave. "I'll go in and distract it. Don't use any spells on it until its attacks are focused on me, okay?" said Shadow, absent-mindedly putting his hand on her arm. Xia felt the warmth of the hand, and it left, just as quickly as it came. Shadow was off distracting the guard. She paused. So I can feel him, too? Shadow swung at the guard. It turned, and Shadow's intense grin turned pale and atrophied. What turned was a Giant Shogun. :ORANGE_SHADOW hits GIANT SHOGUN for 0 damage!: :GIANT SHOGUN notices ORANGE_SHADOW: "Hoo, boy." he said. "RUN, XIA! I CAN'T DAMAGE IT! YOU CAN SAVE YOURSELF!" He yelled. He turned his attention back to the monster, once again donning his grin. "I'm faster, you fat old bastard. I dare you to hit me..." OOC: Xia, you carry on from here! ^_^ Cover for me while I'm gone.

OOC: If the "rare hunter" thing doesn't strike you as appealing, natchan, just tell me, and I'll never mention it again. IC: Shadow had helped Xia to heal the wound on her hand, but it was very difficult to understand just why these things were happenng. He stayed with her as long as she was bleeding, and eventually it stopped. They ran further into the dungeon, and were met with a 3-way split in the road. "Great. Now what?" Xia asked. Shadow smiled his empty smile. "Treasure. We find treasure." He looked at her, mocking a scolding tone. "You were the one who wanted to be a 'rare hunter', I just agreed to help you!" Xia looked at him, with a look of mischief on her face. "Well, it was your choice to help, wasn't it?" She decided to act on her earlier intuition. "Why did you agree to help, anyway?" All she saw was a flicker of oddity. Shadow had changed, somehow. Instead of looking embarassed, he looked as if he had rapidly changed from placid to disturbed to frantic, and back to placid again in the space of a nanosecond. "I need a reason, do I?" Xia felt ill at ease, and sat. "I'm going to heal, while there are no monsters around. You make sure it stays that way, all right?" She said, sternly. "While I heal, I'll check this map... and find the way we should go. Agreed?" Shadow nodded. He drew his sword, ready to attack at a moment's notice. He smiled at Xia in his shellish way, and investigated one of the passageways. He saw a portal, and in the oter there was also a portal. The third one was unguarded, and highly unlikely to hold any sort of valuable treasures. Xia stood again, indicating that the way to go was through one of the portals. Shadow ran ahead, ready to fight. :BATTLE START!: :a GOBLIN appeared!: :a GOBLIN appeared!: :a GOBLIN appeared!: :a MAD GRUNTY appeared!: :a LIMP KNIFE appeared!: Shadow looked over the crowd of monsters. He held a speed charm and a nu mou charm in each hand. He activated a speed charm, and lobbed the charm at the Limp Knife, which was weak against lightning. :LIMP KNIFE recieves 35 damage!: :GOBLIN attacks ORANGE_SHADOW and misses!: Shadow swung his blade, recieving the effects of the speed charm, and hit a goblin, and then his mad grunty companion. He swung at the next goblin, who was hit by a huge blast of fire. Both blows hit at the same time, causing a "Rare Attack". Shadow felt his blade become consumed in flames. He swung it around in a circle rapidly, hitting every monster twice. :RARE ATTACK! ORANGE_SHADOW uses FIRE BLADE CIRCLE!: :GOBLIN is hit twice and recieves 150 damage!: :GOBLIN is hit twice and recieves 139 damage!: :LIMP KNIFE is hit twice and recieves 128 damage!: :MAD GRUNTY is hit twice and recieves 170 damage!: Shadow looked at his sword, which was no longer on fire. He looked over at Xia, who just smiled and waved. She gave him the thumbs-up sign. "Pretty awesome, Shadow!" Shadow smiled, despite himself, not the empty smile that was so hackneyed, but the warm smile of someone very happy, who hasn't been for quite some time. "Thank you, Xia. This way." He said. They entered the door, and saw the Statue Chest. Xia ran to it, and opened it. She smiled. "I got a new staff! And a Golden Grunty! Come get your item!" she said, beckoning him closer. He reached inside, and found a :BANDANA: and a :CLAYMORE:, a blademaster weapon. "Thank you, Xia." he said, donning both. The bandana didn't add to his defense, but it gave him a speed bonus, and he always enjoyed being faster than the opposition. The claymore had slightly larger damage than his greatsword, but was much faster. "Want me to escort you out, Miss Xia?" he asked. She nodded and smiled. "I'd like that." Shadow smiled, and put his hand on her shoulder, "Contact me. I'd like to do that again!" he said, and they walked off.
-
Shadow felt the wall at Xia's instruction. "That's too weird..." he said to himself. He looked over to Xia. "Xia-" he began, but stopped himself. He knew that it would be strange to be told that by someone you don't know... "I'm sorry I didn't mean to ignore you, were you going to say something." Xia said, smiling brightly. Shadow felt the blood rush to his face. "Oh I forgot what I was going to ask, its no big deal." He said. Xia looked shocked. "What? Is there something on my face?" asked Shadow. "As a matter of fact-" She said. "There is... You're... blushing?" She looked shocked, ignoring the reasons for which he might be blushing. "You... can't... blush... in The World... Can you?" OOC: Sorry for the wimpy length. I was cut short by the bell.

OOC: Hmmm... so we're going for a dungeon crawl? Neat. IC: Shadow felt very fatigued from the previous battle. His arms still burned intensely from the blade, and from the attacks from the goblins. It seemed impossible, but he felt like he could feel every blow he incurred. He turned to Xia, who was standing near him. "So... what happens next?" He asked, sounding almost disinterested. :XIA shrugs: "I have no idea... Kia led us to this dungeon... maybe we should go inside?" Shadow unsheathed his sword, indicating his readiness. His wordless act of concurrence was followed by general agreement all around. -----Now Entering Area : Crystal Caverns----- The party moved onward, looking at the new area, in all its detail. Xia looked over the edge of the platform they were traveling on. She reached out, and broke off a large piece of emerald from the background area. "Gah!" She said, almost dropping it. "How did I do that? There are 'Invisible Walls' on the background set, normally..." her voice trailed off in amazement. :XIA obtains EMERALD: Shadow looked the large crystal over. "Hm..." He said. He tried himself, but was repelled by the familiar 'Invisible Walls'. "I can't do it." He said, very matter-of-factly. Xia looked over her inventory, and sure enough it was there. "Weird." she said. :a GOBLIN appears!: :a FAIRY BOMBER appears!: :BATTLE MODE START!: "Huh?" Shadow said. He turned to see nothing. "Come with me, Xia." She nodded, and walked along after him. He looked around, and saw nothing. Then, he saw the fairy bomber, which was in suspended-animation. The goblin was also frozen. "What... is this?" he muttered softly. He turned to Xia, who was clutching the crystal. She looked at it, and then the monsters. "Illegal item!" she exclaimed. "It's a glitch! They can't fight us because I have this crystal!" she beamed. Shadow gave her an impassive look. "Mods are gonna pick that item up, and they're going to give you hell. Lose it before we get picked up." he said, betraying a sense of worry in his voice. "Wouldn't want you to get deleted." he said, walking off. Xia groaned, and looked around. She put it in her stash, using a pair of "Icarus Feathers" to send them there. The goblin and fairy bomber immediately became active. "Shadow! Battle!" Xia said, feeling cornered. "Right." he said. :ORANGE_SHADOW hits GOBLIN for 20 damage!: "Ga nom!" said Xia. :XIA casts GA NOM: :GOBLIN recieves 30 earth damage!: :GOBLIN hits ORANGE_SHADOW for 10 damage!: :FAIRY BOMBER hits ORANGE_SHADOW for 5 damage!: :ORANGE_SHADOW hits FAIRY BOMBER for 30 damage!: :FAIRY BOMBER defeated!: :XIA hits GOBLIN for 5 damage!: :GOBLIN defeated!: Xia jumped for joy. "Yahoo! We did it!" Shadow smiled slightly. The expression passed as quickly as it came. "Yes we did. Well done." "Follow me." Shadow said. He walked down the path, triggering a battle. "Let's go." Shadow said, with renewed urgency. He drew his sword, and smiled. It was not an expression of joy, but an expression of sheer malign glee. "Oh, bloody hell..." Xia managed t osay, before she was immersed into battle.

OOC: Sorry for being late... ^_^ :catgirl: IC: The World.exe LOGIN. Username:Orange_shadow Pass:******** WELCOME TO THE WORLD, ORANGE_SHADOW. The warp rings enveloped Max as he sifted slowly into The World. He took a deep breath, and opened his eyes. He was treated to the familiar scene of Mac Anu. His eyes lingered for a moment over the rivers that ran through the scenery. "What?" Orange_Shadow said. He looked around. "What's going on?" He heard the sounds of battle, grunts and squeals were heard. "A battle? In town?" Orange said. He then heard the heavy pating of an orc behind him. "Gah!" He yelled, running out of the way. He groaned when the :BATTLE START: notification flashed at the top of his screen. "Tell me this isn't happening..." He drew his sword. He turned on some music, and swallowed hard. "Alrighty!" He ran to attack the orc, who took 10 damage. :ORC swings at ORANGE_SHADOW and misses!: Orange breathed a sigh of relief. Orcs were very inaccurate, and would be taxed hard to hit him while he continued to dodge fluidly. :ORANGE_SHADOW hits ORC for 11 damage!: :ORC uses SNIPER SCOPE!: Orange's heart skipped a beat. "That skill... it's a high level!" He remembered being in a party with higher level characters and seeing only high level monsters do it. It increased attack speed and accuracy. :ORC hits ORANGE_SHADOW for 15 damage!: :ORC hits ORANGE_SHADOW for 10 damage!: Orange was down to one hit point. "End of the road..." He heard a *CLANG* and the Orc was dissolving. "What!?" Orange said, relieved. He proceeded to heal himself, wondering all the while what happened. "Hmmm..." He looked around, and no monsters were in sight. "That's a relief... must've been a glitch." He wandered around, looking for the stores. There were NPCs operating them, but they were not able to be selected. He looked around, and saw characters in battle mode with other monsters. He rushed away, trying to log out. :You cannot log out at this time. Please enjoy your stay in The World.: He felt himself go into a cold sweat. "Can't tog out?" "WATCH OUT!" said a voice, and he was set upon by three seperate goblins. He grinned. He could take goblins easily. He drew his sword again. He rushed at the party of goblins, and slashed each one of them once, and then running to the next, giving them little time to react. :ORANGE_SHADOW hits GOBLIN for 20 damage!: :ORANGE_SHADOW hits GOBLIN for 21 damage!: :ORANGE_SHADOW hits GOBLIN for 19 damage!: He smirked as the goblins fell. Then he was bumped into by another player. OOC: I'm thinking the player is you, Xia... your choice.

OOC: No problem. It was intended as an opening for you to get it. :catgirl: IC: He ran through the strange things until he found annother familiar place. He walked around, noticing things, and collecting memories. He remembered a battle, a battle that he had won. And an angel... Two angels... His head hurt, and he decided to sleep. He clutched the Pinnacle, and lay out on the ground. He looked up at what he assumed was the sky. He couldn't remember anything, and it struck him as odd that he felt there was anything to remember. He thought about the strange girl who had seen him in the tent. He wondered why she struck him as familiar. He heard a rustling behind him, and he put his hand on the hilt of Pinnacle. He turned and saw the strange girl from the tent. He tried a simple greeting. "Dardan..." he said, waving. ----- Namia emerged from the underbrush to see Tanken, hand on Pinnacle, and heard him say, "Hello" in Myrhyrr. The team spoke primarily in common, and the emergence of Myrhyrr confused her. "Dardan." She replied simply. She would play his game. "Derzas zu kimmel?" she enquired. He shook his head. "Kimmel kerpas... Dige Reki" So he didn't remember his name. He told her to call him Reki. His smile seemed less... Tanken than usual. "Derzas zu kimmel, myr?" Namia blushed slightly at the compliment. "Namia. Ki pas naga?" He shook his head again. Then he paused. He pointed at Pinnacle. "Namia, Pinnacle naga pas. Paz naa, gerla gaji." He didn't remember anything except Pinnacle, and for all he knew he could be a foreigner. "Kerpas i...?" She said, pointing at herself. "Kerpas... nerai..." He said. He didn't even remember her. He looked hopeful. "Pas i!? Digi i hopuas ne! Picague..." He looked desperate. He stood and approached Namia, appearing to be cautious. "Yurai Wood. Stop playing around, Tanken, it's creepy..." She said. Tanken looked confused. "Gue?" "If you don't stop right now... I'll never sleep with you again!" She said, furious, and not knowing why. Tanken stepped backward. "Nerai... Tsube thebai..." Namia looked into Tanken's eyes, large and confused. She then clenched her fist tightly. She looked away, trying to hide the tears coming out of her eyes. "Please, Tanken...." Then she ran to camp, leaving Tanken by himself. "Namia! Theua!" He yelled after her, and pursued. OOC: If you have problems understanding Myrhyrr, then tell me in a PM. I'll try my best to remember what he said, k? (For amgoddess, PM for a basic dictionary. Then you just kinda make up words.)

OOC: Damn, I'm away for a week, and already our team is going to Hell in a handbasket! :animestun: Yay! They added a neko while I was gone! :catgirl: IC: Tanken looked at the angel, and his brilliant wings. He felt a sinking feeling come over him. He then, of all times, made a shocking realisation. Citain was part of the Omrigan, an entity created from its chaotic blade. He knew not the source of the inspiration, but he trusted it. He figured out how to beat him. He smiled grimly. "Now all I have to do is destroy the sword... but how...?" he thought, as he ran towards the rapidly ascending angel. He reluctantly drew the Pinnacle. The wings grew ever brighter, and Citain's smile grew wider. "Heroic, yet futile. I'll make you the first victim!" He said, laughing maniacally. "Right!" Tanken yelled, putting Pinnacle out before him. Citain's smile changed. In fact, everything changed. One moment there was a division between land and sky, then it was all a fantastic blur. All that was left was Tanken and Citain. Citain changed. All the things surrounding Tanken blurred fantastically yet again, and he was standing in a vast plain of color. Citain was standing all around him. He knew Citain was there, but they were taking up the same space. All there was to hear was: You cannot escape, you cannot break free. You are not yourself, there only is me..., a sickening chant resounded. Tanken felt inclined to sheath his sword. He felt inclined to die. To stop fighting. To stop feeling. All of these things were commands from his body, which seemed everdistant. He concentrated instead. He saw Citain, and cut him in half, vertically. One side smiled, and the other had an expression of unspeakable horror. Both halves shrieked in pain. A light emitted from Citain's divided body. In a moment, it was gone. Everything was gone. All that was left was him, and soon enough, that was gone, too. You cannot escape, you cannot break free. You are not yourself, there only is me... ----- He awoke, shivering from the cold. He looked around and saw no-one, and he was in a strange place. Then there was a thing. It made sound. It spoke in a language, it seemed familiar. He could not understand. He could not respond. He was cold, alone, and without any knowledge of his surroundings. He clutched the sword at his side. "Pinnacle..." he said. He knew Pinnacle. He smiled, and said it again. "Pinnacle." He now had a friend. ----- "Tanken? Tanken?" Namia persisted. Namia watched as Tanken sat up, shivering, and looked around, puzzled. He picked up the Pinnacle, and said, "Pinnacle..." "Pinnacle." Tanken said, smiling. "Tanken, you killed Citain! Good job!" she said, holding him close. Tanken's eyes opened wide in fear. He pushed her away, and ran off, carrying Pinnacle. Namia took awhile to process the series of events. "He..." She felt a tear roll down her cheek "What happened?" ----- The thing tried to touch him, and he pushed it away. He needed to protect the thing he knew. It was all he had left. He ran, far and fast, through hundreds of tall brown and green things which made no sense. He stopped, and breathed, clutching Pinnacle, for security. "Pinnacle..." OOC: Yes, Tanken has lost all memory, and NO, he's not coming out of it anytime soon... Just don't try to stupid it up by insta-curing him. I'm trying a new method of storytelling, k?

OOC: Oooo... Terra's being interrogated! O_O And T&N's secrets revealed! What will befall our hapless heroes next!? By the way, Deus. I think now would be a good time to get that Citain character into the picture. Allow me the pleasure... PM me if you have any objections. IC: Tanken sat, alone. He was happy to watch the sunset, but not so happy to see Namia leave. No doubt she was doing something important, but Tanken wanted to talk to her. "Too bad, I guess." Tanken said aloud, to himself. He stood, glancing once more at the sunset. "Beautiful..." he said. "It is... it is..." A voice behind him said. Tanken turned, drawing Pinnacle. Citain stood, smirking. "No offense, but I have been sent to kill you." He drew the Omrigan, and the fight began. ----- CLANG! Tanken and Citain were sword-locked. Tanken pulled back, firing a Hessler, which made a hole in Citain's head as big as his fist. Tanken panted, out of surprise. "Damn, that was easy..." he was stopped by a body behind him. "Too easy?" Citain suggested from behind Tanken. "JESUS!" Tanken cried, nearly being hit by the Omrigan's beam. He ran to engage Citain, but was continuously unsuccessful. Citain just avoided every attack. Citain went in for a strike, and Tanken dove out of the way, regaining his footing, and locking swords with him. Citain pulled back this time, firing a beam from Omrigan. The beam never hit. It was deftly deflected by Vaxla. "What?" Tanken said, confused. "You needed help. I'm helping." Vaxla replied, simply. She held her rod, surprised it didn't break. Tanken realized something. "The Omrigan! It's not sharp! It's a dull piece of metal!" He noted loudly. Citain regarded this comment, "Very good, but it doesn't need to be sharp to kill..." He said, swinging it with unusual speed. Vaxla and Tanken ducked quickly under the direction of the swing. Three trees behind them were shredded to paper. Tanken noted this. "We're going to need more than two people to kill this one."
-
OOC: Vaxla, I suggest you read my reply. Perhaps it will help you understand your surroundings. IC: "There is no man that needs to be 'Taken care of'." Tanken said, strongly. He stepped closer to Vaxla, who pointed the gun at him. "Stay back or I make good on my threat." Vaxla replied coldly. Tanken stepped forward again. "You don't realize that with or without Jadou, we can be successful. We just needed to exit his ring of influence." Tanken drew the Pinnacle. Vaxla had lost her advantage. Guns were only useful if you used them before the target could stop you from doing so. Vaxla sweated and cocked the hammer. "Go ahead. You saw what happened last time." Tanken said, using the Pinnacle to lower her gun. "You are an extremist. You just need to sleep and think about what your position on the matter is." Vaxla flushed with anger. She trudged off, feeling very stupid, and very determined to get the advantage next time. Tanken looked back at Namia. "Now, where were we?" He said, smiling. Namia looked at Tanken strangely. "You're bouncing back that quickly? Vaxla might have killed you!" She said. "No... Vaxla's not a bad person. She's just... misguided. She doesn't understand the world around her. I accept that... I was like that once." Tanken replied simply. Namia still eyed him warily. She sat, and looked again at the sunset. Tanken sidled next to her, and pulled her head into her chest... OOC: Alright, NOW take it away, Namia!
-
Tanken looked up nervously at Vaxla, and smiled. Vaxla looked confused, she held the wrist gun to his head even closer. "Give it to me!" she growled through gritted teeth. In an instant, Vaxla was on the opposite wall wondering why she was there. "What the-" Tanken stood, Pinnacle drawn and in his hand. "You hesitated. You could have died." he said, almost feeling sorry for her. Almost His eyes narrowed. "Go. Leave me. I don't want to see your face for a good long time, you bitch." He held out the Pinnacle, blade first. "This is something you'll need more than an army to remove from me. Let alone a lone woman in my tent, hesitating, trying to kill me. HAVE YOU EVEN CONSIDERED HOW I FEEL!? You're such a selfish little naive FUCK that you NEVER even UNDERSTOOD how it feels to be me! You think I WANT to be holding the world's only hope!? FANTASY! I hate this blade!" Tanken lowered it. He calmed down. "Leave. Leave before I kill you. You know I can." Vaxla gave Tanken a look of hate and utter loathing that made him wince. She left, angrily. She turned. "I'll be back." much less a farewell than a warning. Tanken sighed and stood to ponder about things. "The only way from here is forward. We need to press on. The mercenary city is going to be difficult to liberate... but we need all the help we can get... The mercs in that town are very talented, so the city is most likely guarded well..." Tanken reviewed plans he had made earlier. "Why do I have an overwhelming sense of nostalgia? ... It's like I should remember this place..." Namia walked in. "Are... you okay now, Tanken?" Tanken sighed. "Yeah. Yeah I am. I never realized how hard it would be to keep Pinnacle out of Vaxla's hands... she was trying to kill me for it. Luckily, she hesitated. We need to do something about her... she really wants to kill Deus. She has no regard for what damage she could incur... socially and physically." Tanken looked at the Pinnacle. "She really is too naive... She is worthless to us as a fighter until she realizes just how deep her head is under the water. But..." Tanken looked to Namia. "...Enough about what's eating me, what's going on with you? You seem less assertive than usual. Anything bothering you?" Namia looked at him critically. "Nothing out of the ordinary. Just a bit off color. I'll be back and at it soon enough... I'm worried about you, Tanken. You're really becoming a lot more involved in this than anyone else... Try resting awhile..." Namia said, trying to evoke a smile. Tanken smiled, but it was a strange, unusual smile. "Alright. I'll rest. Hey!" he looked out of the tent. He pointed at the horizon. "Come with me. I've something to show you." Tanken raced along, trying to reach it in time. He found it, and it was a cliff. He sat, and motioned for Namia to sit by him. He put his arm around her, and squeezed. He pointed at the sunset, turning various colors of Orange, Red, and Yellow. Namia gazed on in awe. "It's beautiful..." she said. Tanken nodded and smiled. "You know? The first time I saw a sunset in Balkazzar, I knew..." he looked at Namia, "'Yeah, it's beautiful, but there is something that I'd much rather have...'" Tanken held Namia tightly. "I knew I'd rather have you than every sunset, than every other beautiful thing in the world. You are my treasure... Thanks for being there for me..." Tanken looked much more confident now. Namia smiled. She looked at Tanken who radiated his newfound self-worth. "You look much better when you're confident. Insecure doesn't work for you." she said giggling. OOC: All right, my time for today is up. Take it away, Namia!
-
OOC: I dunno, maybe a little bit of complication could add to the story! O_O IC: "I'm sorry, but the Pinnacle is too powerful to be used by those who do not know its power. I'd give it to you, had you even the slightest inkling of how dangerous it is." he said, his eyes narrowing, "I understand your wish to kill Deus, as it is my wish to do so as well, but don't be blinded by your delusions of grandeur. Deus will be defeated, if it takes us the next few years to do so." "But..." Vaxla began "No buts. This sword is by no means a plaything. It is not to be used for dark purposes, otherwise it is capable of immense destruction. End of story." Tanken said, looking sympathetic for Vaxla. Vaxla went silent and reflective. "So, about the resistance... You're sure this is a good idea? Jadou would be an easy assassination." said Vaxla. "It seems good on paper, but what one must realize is that anyone in power is a difficult person to take out. Jadou would be impossible, he's a champion of the people, and unless we want tyrannical rule..." Tanken reminded her. "Instead of ruling an empire, we need to focus on City-States. It's worked for a long time, and the Empire just ruined it. Now, if you'll excuse me..." Tanken said "I've got a few things I need to do. First, I need to figure out just how this cecede is going to work." Vaxla turned, but not before she gave him a glare of defiance. She left, not saying a word. Tanken sighed, looking at the Pinnacle. "Damn this... I don't want to have this thing with me... but Vaxla couldn't either. This is far too confusing..." Tanken said to himself. "Too much has transpired in the past few hours..." Tanken added, having very mixed images of Namia, the cold-blooded killer, and the soft warm body underneath the sheets last night. "Christ..." Tanken said, just reflecting. "The past 24 hours were more entertaining than my entire previous life combined. And more complicated..." Tanken added softly. He walked out of the tent, being met with a pleasantly light breeze. He sighed, wordlessly, as he made his way to the edge of the wood they had camped near. He spied Namia. "Hey! Namia! Come here, I gotta talk to you!" Tanken said, happily, he hoped. Namia nodded, shoving the last of a lemony fish in her mouth and bringing two with her. "Coming!" she said, strapping her spear to her back. ----- "This is good fish, Namia!" Tanken said. Namia smiled broadly. "Yeah, it's good for the digestion, too." She said, looking heroic. Her stature fell. "Hey, you said you needed to talk to me." "Yeah... We'll talk as we walk." He said, starting into the forest. Namia walked next to him, holding his hand. Tanken smiled, Namia's presence made him feel much more comfortable. "What's on your mind?' Namia asked. "Lots of things... mostly what has been happening for the last few hours... It's a lot to bear down on a guy, you know?" Tanken said, looking Namia in the eyes. "I know what you mean." Namia said, her voice betraying no sense of regret. They reached a stream, and Tanken motioned for Namia to sit with him. "It was smart to cecede, right?" He said, uncertainly. "You saw why? Does it bother you?" Namia shook her head. "It doesn't matter if I'm sure. It matters if you are. You need to realize that." She said, sitting next to him, leaning on his shoulder. "Yeah... I just feel like the world's fallen on my shoulders..." He smiled, putting his arm around Namia. "I love you, Namia. Thank you for hearing me out... I needed that." It was then they heard the noise. OOC: What noise did they hear? hehehehehehehehe....

RPG Final Fantasy: Quest for the Crystals [M-LVS]
0ber0n the Neko replied to Redemption's topic in Theater
Kent tried desperately, with little success, to dodge and weave the magical assauly led by an individual short in stature, temper, and sanity. Probably the results of the former condition. "YOU'LL NEVER GET AWAY!!!" The man said, artfully punctuating with three exclaimation points. Anyone who has any reason to use any more than two is reasonably insane. He flung a fireball at Kent, who avoided it, trying to advance. He drew his sword and tried something very stupid. The next fireball came, and he tried to block it with his sword. As was stated before, a VERY STUPID IDEA. He found that he was now on the ground writhing in agony. He was very possibly on fire, but the agony and pain of stupidity struck hardest. "Dammit!" "God, you'd have to be INSANE to try that! Are you fucking NUTS?" The short man called. "I hear this coming from you?" Kent asked as sarcastically as possible. The short man entered a state of contemplation. "Well..." Kent took this opportunity to stand and hap-hazardly kill the man with a single bodily blow from his sword. "Shit." Kent said, as he slumped to the floor, realizing that, yes, he was on fire. -
James, I'm gonna try something different, so dont' think I'm trying anything funny! ^_^ I'm just adding a dynamic elemnt to the post. REMEMBER! PM me before you post your Merc. I'll give you instructions on my reply that will be crucial in developing your character!

OOC: Sorry if this offends anyone (I'm pretty sure it won't, but i like to have my bases covered), but I'm going to assume that the group agreed to cecede from the Resistance. Anyone who wants out, just desert us later! ^_^' Sorry! IC: There was general agreement all around. The resistance, although strong in men, was not strong in the hierarchy. They had a sense of purpose, but once that purpose was gone, they had nothing to fall back on. There was no telling what Jadou might do, given ultimate power. Tanken held Namia close, glad he could now do so. She gave him comfort. Tanken smiled, Maybe when this whole fiasco is over with... We could raise a family... he thought. Maybe. First... I don't want my children to be brought up oppressed. I have to return Paragon to its original place... So that others will not have to live through this tyranny... Tanken buried his face in Namia's hair. "Tommorrow... We take on the mercenary town Gera. We may be able to recruit a larger force there. We'll need more people than just us to get through. Agreed?" Tanken offered. The group agreed, many of them making displays of their valor and conviction. Tanken looked at Vincent. He was sitting close to Terra, obviously uncomfortable, indecisive. Tanken smiled inwardly. About time... Namia smiled drowsily at Tanken, turning to kiss him. "I'm in. Let's make some plans, Tanken." Tanken smiled, standing up and offering his hand to Namia, who stood without help. She smiled at him. "Remember: this cat has claws." "Right." Tanken agreed, laughingly. He picked up the Pinnacle, and headed into a tent with Namia. OOC: Alright... This is how I'm going to do this. IT's going to be a bit odd, but... If you want to have a specialized Merc(enary), then post his character data in the orignal signup post. We'll need probably five more specialized Mercs, and anyone intent on creating one should PM me. Thanks! (All mercs must follow the character signup sheet for regular characters. PM me before making one, and WAIT FOR ME TO RESPOND! :flaming: Thank you ^_-)

OOC: O_O again, I said "wow"... except this time people started lookin at me weird. Takuya, Sephy_07, I think this is how this should be resolved. Gakana simply ignored the order to retreat, and Deus knows this, so he doesn't send Citian... just yet... hehehehe. IC: "So, what now Tanken, now that you have the Pinnacle?" asked Cairo. Tanken looked at the chaos sword in its sheath. "Damn... I asked myself that question. I think we should try not to attract attention with this... In other words, Jadou must not learn we have this. He might try to do something drastic. A full-frontal attack on Deus wouldn't be wise just yet. We need to weaken his outposts. Without fingers, his arms won't do much good." Tanken inserted the metaphor neatly. Cairo looked thoughtfully at the fire. "So you're saying..." Sabin stood, "We are going to cecede from the Resistance?" he gave Tanken a critical look. "That sounds very unwise... Jadou may not be the most brilliant tactician, but he has suitable forces for conquest. We don't!" Sabin eyed him as Tanken thoughtfully snuggled closer to Namia. "We need more forces. Jadou may be corrupted with this power... He knows how to lead a resistance... not a country. We can't risk it. I leave the decision with you. If I must, I will go alone. I can't let Jadou have control over Sanatos." "What if you get corrupted?" Raion asked simply. "I... I won't..." Tanken snuggled closer still to Namia. "I promise..."

There was a deafening sound, comparable to the sound of a movie theater on fire, minus the sounds of the screams and the fire. It was then accompanied by another sound often associated with mass chaos and destruction. It was simply thus. KABOOM! The first monster was not dead, but he was angry. "Filthy HUMANS!" The other growled, going after Tanken. Tanen smiled, parrying the blow easily. "This sucker's a fake. The weapon on this one isn't real. Let's rid ourselves of him." Tanken said, haughtily. He kicked it towards Namia, who shredded it instantly. It fell down in a mass of papery bits. "Don't bother with the illusions! Tanken! You recognize the weapon easily, do you not?" asked Namia. "Like I would my own reflection!" He said, laughing. "I'll point the real one out. He won't get away..." Tanken grinned, basking in grandeur to come. He knew the sword contested held the only key they had to the downfall of Deus. "AAAGH!" Vincent cried, swinging wildly at the monster, who rebounded into Namia. She threw him with the end of her spear, making him break through an entire building. The party was soon on the other side. The monster grinned evilly. "Fools... You know not who I am..." The voice grew steadily more human, losing its chamber overtones. The monster's head changed until it was recognizable as the Black Knight. 'You'll never get the Pinnacle from me... You cannot defeat me! I AM INVINCIBLE!" He cried, reverting back to his monster state. His face of triumph was abruptly replaced by one of suprise. Namia was furious. Her voice quivered. "You... are the bastard... who broke my fucking ribs..." She said, spaces broken by enraged gasps of breath. She let out a holler that made even Tanken twitch. A light emitted from Namia, who frowned in the manner of the very pissed. She attacked, and the monster had no time to react. The monster was sent hurtling even farther backwards, breaking through building after building. "Kill time, I guess. That screws your plan, Cairo." Tanken said. "I kinda liked it myself... but then again, Namia kicking its ass all over town is also pleasant." Tanken said, smiling. ----- Namia was soon panting from exhertion, covered in dark liquid one could only suppose was blood. Tanken didn't want to comment on the monstrous kidney attached to her leg. "Good... Job..." Tanken said, shivering. Namia walked closer, looking scarier and scarier with each step. She stopped, and pulled out a sword from a sheath. "I believe this is what you wanted, Tanken." She said, simply. She handed it to him, and walked off. "I'm gonna take a shower. I need to cool off." The party just stared, exchanging glances. "Yay...?" Tanken hazarded.
