You frighten me. I'm sorry, but you really do. Marijuana = stupid. Although that bit about the parallel universes was pretty interesting. Sorry, had to say something nice. And maybe you will. I'm just seriously hoping it isn't the one I live in.

[[WARNING: Possible mature content.]] Click go black high heels on a wooden floor. Click goes the lock as she closes the door. Click and the gun is pointed at your head. Click one time more and bang you’re dead. For a long time, the rather uneducated populace of Ramsey continuously mocked the Assassin’s Guild. Anyone with common sense would know better. It was the Assassin’s Guild, for Nyx’s sake. But then again, after their rather dramatic fall into disfavor with the royalty of the realm not five years past, most people found it a way to discourage the rebuilding of said Guild – and to keep themselves from being afraid of what they probably still considered a very dangerous group. I sighed softly, gazing around me at the lushly upholstered church. At least, that’s what it was called. I knew better, as did the rest of the Ramsey populace. To any foreigner it would indeed look like a rather well sponsored place of worship. And, I guess in a strange, twisted way, it was. Only not to God. Or whatever outsiders called Him. Instead it was a place of worship to a rather extensive pantheon of Ramsey’s own creation – not to exclude what other cities liked calling our “Goddess of Whores” and our ever popular “God of Merriment” – to put them nicely. It was also right across the cobblestone street from the Assassin’s Guild. Sitting in the small room in front where the greeters stood every worship day and passed out booklets, through the wooden double doors I could see the rather broken-down building styled after barracks. I could also see through their wide open doors that they were renovating. Which perplexed me. The Queen hadn’t openly accepted them again, but here they were, funds obviously at their reach to rebuild. With a languid stretch, I rolled to my feet. Literally, rolled. I am catlike in many aspects, and this was one of them. Which was why I was going to investigate. I needed a job – rather desperately. ~*~ We are in a rather large city by the name of Ramsey. It is the center of a small country – the name of which is undecided but unnecessary – and has many guilds. If you can name it, there probably is one. As you may have guessed, there is an Assassin’s Guild and it has fallen into disrepair. This is because of a (as of yet) unspecified falling-out with the royalty of the realm four years ago. This is set in an almost renaissance-like setting, but with all the modern perks. Like the world stuck with the style but advanced in technology. This is not the world we know of. As insinuated, Ramsey has rather eclectic tastes – in accordance to other countries – which includes a pantheon of gods with tastes ranging from the perverted to the holy. Create a sect if you like, but talk over details with me. I don’t want things conflicting too much. I realize this may be a lot of BG info, but mostly it’s just so you have an idea of the world. Women have just as many rights as men, if not more. Now, I am planning on doing this in chapters, and each one has a basic goal. I’ll create a Backstage thread for it, and each time we switch chapters I’ll give you heads-up. There isn’t actually too much of a specific story line to follow – just don’t do anything major without clearing it for me. If you can be creative, I’m sure I can work it in. That’s the beauty of worlds previously uncreated. :) All I’m going to tell you is that we need recruits for the Guild. In accepting this challenge, you accept that your character may end up being a pawn against the Crown – or maybe against the Guild itself. But my main goal is to rebuild the Guild. Also, unless I am divulging important information – which I will probably only do through personal PMs or through the Backstage thread – I will be writing in first person. This leaves a little more to the imagination in some areas. And a little less in others. You get the idea. Creativity is the biggest factor here. I am creating a world. ^_~ Sign Up Name: Age: Gender: Believe it or not, this CAN be neuter, male or female… honestly, if you can place a trannie or a he-she, go ahead. Appearance: Either detailed description or picture. Sample: Write a sample of your character. This’ll give me an idea of your writing skill, creativity, and how well you grasp the world. Now, if your writing isn’t as high as mine, don’t worry, part of the reason we RP is to develop skills, yes? Name: Esme Larange Age: 24 Gender: Female Appearance: Esme – Relaxed I know, I’m not doing the character sample, but technically, I already did. *points up* So yeah. :) Have at ye!
Only Untitled 2 is the result of fridge magnet poetry, but very good catch! Haha. Are there any points I could improve upon that you see? While I do appreciate the compliments, I'm also looking for some genuine criticism.
*grins* That'd be a tad easier if one wasn't fridge poetry. No, seriously though. It's a tad harder to give critisism on free verse, which has no rhyme or meter. The first one doesn't have either, although I guess I can kind of see it. Hmm. The last one doesn't seem to have it, either. The second one does, though. The beat is a tad off, but not noticable unless you read it aloud. That has to do with how the words are pronounced and the amount of syllables. For me, though, it's hard to crit poetry because it's more personal than a story. *shrugs*

Thank you so much!

I know, Sandy, but he's also younger than I am and under the legal age of consent for my state. It would be statutory rape, according to law. And I don't feel like dealing with that, either. ^_^
-
I absolutely adore Mother although I have to admit the one before it looks a great deal like someone had too much fun with the fridge magnets... you know, the ones that come with lots of words and you can make them say anything? Yeah, those. Heh. I like the idea of the first one, and the second one kind of scares me. ^_^; Nice basis, though, and definately brave. Very, very brave. >.>

Hmm. I remember older threads along these lines... and how immature a good deal of our answers were. Huh. I'm admittedly bisexual, which many on here know (who know me). For a while I was merely curious, and thought I was straight afterward, but I guess if one is going by definition - which is supposedly physical/sexual attraction to both sexes - then I count. The only thing is, it is a very rare case that I do feel sexually attracted to a female, and when I do, I don't tend to notice because sexual attraction is nothing to me if there are no emotions involved. *shrugs* I tend to ignore or completely forget my sexual attraction to guys if they don't mean something to my heart, too. People look at me strangely for it, but oh well. I've had people tell me they feel sorry for me because I am completely incapable of one-night-stands - they hold no emotional attachment or fulfilment, so why bother? Now, this is also all on the basis that I am a virgin and plan on staying that way until I'm eighteen. This has to do with no religious choice - I'm agnostic - but common sense. I am in no position to take care of a child right now, and won't be in the near future. I don't turn 18 for another year and some-odd months, so it's okay. I'd much rather be happy and safe and able to support said children. :) There I go, off on a tangent. But I agree with James. Never ridicule someone else's decision for abstinence - you just may end up getting ridiculed because you didn't practice it. ;)

I am hearting the incredible cuteness. Would you mind too terribly if I asked you to make a matching avi?
-
So I'm thinking I need a new layout, right? Well, I'm not exactly sure what anime/manga I want but I do know what theme I want: snow. Winter is here, rather assuredly, and I'd like a banner/avi set to match! You can use anything you want as long as you incorporate snow and preferably SOME bright colorage. :) Be as creative as you want to be; I don't even have a request for text. If you can think of a good quote or saying, add it! I'm wide open to suggestions. Please and thank you!

I Forgot What You People Look Like (Image Heavy)

ZOMG... Roxie is Asian. o_o That makes her twice as sexy! Much has been done to my hair since my last set of pictures... Hope you all like! http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/brierlotus91/Me/4u.jpg Me after a pep rally. Gotta love that camera. http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/brierlotus91/Me/omg01.jpg My boyfriend said I looked like a vampire ready to feed. xD http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/brierlotus91/Me/sj.jpg And here is me and said boyfriend. Hehe. http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/brierlotus91/Me/stephlip.jpg Steffie plus lipring apparently equals sexy. http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/brierlotus91/Me/steph05.jpg And a picture from homecoming. And here is a selection of piccies that he took with his step-dads Nikon... .... o_o I had a long winded thing planned but after seeing that my brain just died.

o_o DB, you got really popular really fast. And now I feel unloved. Just because I love her to death, and because she's on of the most awesome people I have ever met, I nominated Ozy. She's an awesome mod, and a great person. She's got this cynical sense of humor that makes even the toughest look sheepish and sometimes even blush. Plus, her roleplaying skills are insane. I
I wondered what happened to you. ^_~ Even if your views differed it didn't mean they weren't welcome. If I recall correctly you started a thread about Mormons as well as one about religion in general. Besides you're one of the few people I know who lives in Utah like I do. :catgirl:
Utah, huh? Now I know where to find you both. >.> We didn't forget about you, Esther, in fact J-chan, Korey and I were just wondering where you had gone. And if you run around at night, I'll join you. I get up at to-damn-early anyway. Members who perform disappearing acts, where exactly DID the voluptuous Annie-goddess go? I seemed to have missed the transition from my last hiatus.
Just when I thought I had things figured out... Oh well. This is an exhortation for you all to post the deaths of your contracted characters quickly as possible and then start quests. I'll take any suggestions for team reorganization giving the current catastrophic death toll. HAH.
For an honest moment there, I could haves sworn you meant we needed to kill our characters and then try to start our quests. As this would be a tad difficult, I now know that five thirty AM is too damn early for this. I suggest that Nagata throws in his lot with the first group.
Does this mean we need an OB Baby Shower thread? 0_o --Chris
You know something? I think that's the ONLY kind of thread we haven't had yet.
I notice you! And quite a few staff mention you when it comes to great RPGs. Funnily enough I was going to join This is Earth, but I could not decide on a character, lol.
And yet, still not noticing me. ;_; You make me cry, James. Shame! I'm kidding. Vicky, hun, you're a legend! If I could just find the time to get on here everyday for long enough to post in multiple threads, I could do well. Anyone else remember when Ezekiel and I RPed together? She's an Arena mod now. So is Ozy... who I also used to RP with.
Anyway, I joined back in February of 2005, sure the activity had fluctuated a lot but at the same time, just as James said, since I first joined I've made lots of friends, so even though others move on and don't come anymore, it's still fun and I suspect that next year I'll be saying these were the good old days and so on. I've never reached the point of thinking the past was somehow better.
Wait, I've been here longer than Sunfall? Hm, now I really feel old. I guess technically you could say I've been around since... *frowns* Well, with this account, 2003. EDIT: I correct myself. This account has been since March 6 of '04, the others were '03. Honestly, I kind of miss the whole newbie feeling. Once you've been here for a while, and your name STILL doesn't bring fear to newbs in the Adventure Arena, it leaves a rather sucky feeling. =/ Still, it does bring satisfaction knowing you've been here that long and survived. Lets see, does anyone remember the ages of the rap battles and the infamous DBD vs. Lone Bebop battles? Those were a treat to watch. You have a signal? I think it may be getting rusty, then; no one ever uses it. >:/ And James, I'm sure they appreciate (or will learn to) the fact that you still make an effort to be around the newbies. I know I did. Especially when you ask for banner help, since we know you're so adept at that to begin with.

Raiyeesa blinked in surprise. In a matter of moments, this attractive young cat man had managed to completely confuse her. Admittedly, that didn?t take much, but he?d done it with such skill, and accidentally, that she just sat there blinking at him before really registering the fact. Hearing him mutter to himself, ears perked forward, Raiyeesa cleared her throat. ?Mind telling me who you are? Oh, and our other team member is that rather perverted vampire lounging in the corner over there with the? ahem, demon.? Seraim looked at her in surprise, then glanced over at Vladmir and Nagata. Raiyeesa chuckled. ?That?s Vladmir. He?s actually pretty regular here. You know, the one messing with the barmaid.? When he didn?t move, still looking at her funny, Raiyeesa stuck out one rather feline foot and pushed him, using his butt as a propeller, towards Vladmir?s table. As usually, she misjudged her strength, and Seraim tumbled into the busty barmaid, causing a rather impromptu pile: barmaid, Vladmir, Nagata, and Seraim. She bit her lip, trying not to laugh. ?Oops.?

Ack! I am neither dead nor missing! Just highly preoccupied! >.< I shall post today; I was hoping I could kill Tetra, but whatever. Andrew got to her first. Smurf. Cymanticness, here I come! *trips, falls on her exit* And yes, I am Stephanie. I found my old account. Woo-hoo!

Have you ever looked back and wondered - how long ago was it really that I was buying lemon lime popsicles from my kindergarten teacher for lunch? Or, more importantly: how long ago was it really that I joined OtakuBoards? I just managed to get my password for my old account. I have a new one - Stephanie - but I've been trying to get onto this one since I came back. How far back do you remember? I believe, unless I'm mistaken (which I regularly am) that I've been here - not on this account, quite a few - since version... four? I think? I'm not sure. But a really long time ago. Like, back in sixth grade long time ago. And i'm in 11th now. How far back do you remember your time here? And what are some of your best memories? - My first RPG ever, Elemental Gaurdians, took off with a bang. Despite the fact that all it was was one liner posts and ridiculously horrible spelling, it lasted for around twenty pages. We had so much fun, even though I was banned because Drix D'zanth or The Harlequin (one of them) really didn't like me. I also realise that this has been done, but I really wanted to make a thread using my old account. o_O
After all, they'd be at least partially right. *glances at 2007DigitalBoy nonchalantly* ... ;D
You so need a life, DB, if your fame rests on people making fun of you. Or at least a better username. I keep thinking of peanutbutter, for some reason. Otaku... I don't mind being associated with that word. Although I do agree, we aren't all greasy haired mama's boys. ^_~ In fact, right now, it's five thirty in the morning and I'm watching Inuyasha. Yeah, so that's my claim to fame. I told my friend the other day "An otaku is someone who is 'an anime or manga freak'" ^_^ I stand by my claim, as shallow and discombobulated as it may be. Okay, so I just wanted to use that word.

Raiyeesa was giggling with embarrassment. She?d just sprawled all over the bar floor, tripping on Neeraya?s strategically placed, suddenly manifested tail. Luckily, she?d brought her overly cocky sister down with her. ?Raiyeesa! You?re an hour late!? Still giggling, the cat-woman turned to face her rather chubby boss. He had a stern look on his face, but the edge of his mouth was twitching. Oh, we wasn?t really mad, she could tell, it was more of an agitation for a daughter ? or something of the sort. Neeraya had referred to it as his ?pimp? look before, but her clueless, ditzy sister hadn?t really gotten it. ?I know, boss, I overslept. Those scoundrels we had to throw out last night gave me a run for my money ? and you know how I can be on four legs.? She grinned, liking the irony of that statement. She hadn?t actually entertained the thugs, not in that way, but they had certainly been wishing she had instead of their alternative punishment. Boss merely rolled his eyes and went back behind the bar. He began cleaning glasses, and then turned to her. ?Raiy, how long are you going to be gone?? Raiyeesa blinked in a moment of forgetfulness. Oh, yeah, that was right! Some Hunter dude had asked her to hunt a dragon! What was it he had said? She was supposed to work with ? him. Her eyes stopped on the suave empathetic vampire in the corner, who was glaring daggers her way. Out of the corner of her eye, she had seen his next victim leave the bar, completely oblivious. ?No clue.? She plopped down on the seat beside the door, generous bosom straining at her overly tight corset beneath the cream-colored shirt. For a moment, Raiyeesa was caught in her own long skirt, swearing loudly and with great skill before sweeping it up to her knees and sitting down, sandaled feet tilted up so the ball wasn?t resting on the ground. Time for work. Maybe she?d get something else later.
-
?Ack!? Actually, the noise was much closer to ?blllvwack? but that would sound a little strange and certainly not as dignified. Not that Raiyeesa could ever be dignified. Anyway, the strange noise ? whatever it actually sounded like ? was the result of the half-asleep bouncer falling off her bed onto the floor, and then lying there staring at the quizzical face of her cat. Haha, cat, she thought drowsily. Why that struck her as funny, she didn?t know, but it always seemed to amuse her. Then again, she was easily amused. Ah, but she had strayed on another tangent. She had a bad habit of doing that. Quit doing that, Raiyeesa! She was startled by her own stern thought, although really she shouldn?t have been. She had a bad habit of talking to herself, too. Glancing up over her shoulder, she saw through the window that she was late for work. Again. ?Raiyeesa!? It took the flighty young woman a moment to realize that the voice she heard was not her own. When she did, she pulled on clothes hurriedly and unbolted her door. She jumped back as her sister Neeraya barreled through the door. She blinked a little as her mirror image poked her soundly in the breastbone. ?You are so late it isn?t funny. Boss is gonna be furious!? If Raiyeesa wasn?t so nice she would have smacked the smirk right off her siblings face. As things stood, she smiled good naturedly and ushered Neeraya out the door and locked the house behind them. ?Well, then, we?d best get going!? OOC: As per your example, simple but characteristic enough. I hope. o_o Hey, is there an Underground thread for this?
