Doujin Work is a 4-koma manga //snip// now being turned anime.
Damn, I was about to move this to the Manga Workshop. ;) I'm not a big fan of this art style... but if the story delivers on the craziness that the OP promises, I'll probably be there. Though, I doubt shortening the episodes will help me much in the time department. :-/ Oh well~ /me adds it to the list. -r2
It isn't so much as Sasuke had horrible judgment or anything.
It was more he was too confident that once someone was in his Genjutsu that there would be no way to escape.

I think that's a load of kidney's dingos. I mean, all we saw was
Sasuke being out ninja'd. Deidara had layers of deception that Sasuke didn't look through. I mean, unless you're a Nara, you can only look so far ahead and Deidara is, afterall, an Akatsuki.
But yes, I agree, the next chapter should be good. This chapter was pretty good too. Even if the clones are used a lot, it makes sense for a lot of deception and trickery to go into a ninja manga. Which is more realistic, a wing made of snakes or a giant leathery hand shaped wing. I can't drink tea in any form. I've tried Black, Green, Red, Iced, or even Bubble Tea are all disgusting. I don't know why I don't like them, most of my friends drink the stuff like it's water... There's a stereotype that Asian people always drink hot water, or iced tea. I wish I could say it weren't true, but I have a lot of asian friends, and I serve a lot of asian guests...
Tea, Earl Grey. Hot.
Such a nerd. XP
I recall one instance where I asked the man at Tim Hortons for 4 teaspoons of sugar, and two of cream. He looked at me like I was an alien.
Canadian, are we? Either way, don't consider yourself too weird. I've seen someone order coffee with no less than thirteen sugars. Personally, I don't like coffee. It's just so bitter. Even with sugar and milk added... I do drink it twice a week; on days that I open the restaurant and need a kick to wake me up. I take it double double and sip on it for a half hour. I first tried it with 6 creamers and 6 sugars, but that just seemed silly. -r2

Connection: You have a 3 pronged carrot on a plate on a table. I have 3 Canadian bills on a sketchbook on a table. I like Canadian money because it's easy to tell the difference between the bills from the first look. The coins are actually in the wrong order. From top to bottem they are worth: $1; $2; 25¢; 5¢; 10¢; 1¢. -r2

I'll be going to this movie purely for the eye-candy because I don't expect it to be anything like the older franchise. To be honest, I can't even go as a Transformers fan because I didn't actually latch on until the more recent Beast Wars series. They already signed on two sequels, but it might have a different director and writer. Apparently the writers were big fans of the series. -r2

I've had people tell me it was bad because it "tried to be like Nightmare Before Christmas" and I just scoffed and rolled my eyes.
Well, I've never actually seen TNBC but I still didn't enjoy The Corpse Bride very much. Don't get me wrong, I loved the stop motion animation to death, and some scenes were breathtaking, I just didn't have much fun watching that movie... the story seemed weak. lol. I will agree with Sara's other choice, though. Lady in the Water, like the grimy ethnic restaurant down the street, surprised me with its enjoyable fairytale-like story. The story didn't seem lame or derivative, but more classic and almost nostalgic. I don't know if this counts since it's in the top 250 at IMDB right now is Hot Fuzz. I'm adding it here because most of the people I talk to haven't even heard of it, and it wasn't even in theatres (here) for very long. :( In my opinion one of the (if not the) best movie this year. It is an action movie spoof that is also intelligent and silly, full of action, and just plain fun to watch. As a server I have to mention Waiting. If you'd like to know what goes on at a restaurant, watch that movie, I've seen (or heard of) variations of all the actions in that movie. Not a great movie, but definately a good one, especially if you're a waiter/server like myself. Three movies I want to mention are Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Brick, and The Sting. Unfortunately they've all won many, many awards, so I wont. :3 -r2

I didn't like the Life of Brian very much but I have The Meaning of Life DVD. I do, though, enjoy looking at the bright side of life. Monty Python is my cup of tea. It's silly enough to entertain me for hours without needing any other sort of distraction. It reminds me of Douglas Adams' work but of course nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition. -r2
Also, White, I believe you're talking about Frappr.[/URL']
Oh yeah, that site... Very frighteningly, my dot is placed very accurately over my previous house. Good thing I moved a few blocks away. :3 White, I know she's no longer a member of the boards, but Godelsensei was pretty prominent around here around the time I joined, wasn't she? Either way, she's from the T Dot as well. (Though, really... I don't know anyone that calls it that...) -r2 -
There's also the whole "We'll change your hours when we feel like" aspect of a lot of these jobs. The fear of people ripping you off at the cash register with tricks.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Tons of politics from people higher up in the store threatens every thing you do at every turn.
Thank you.
The fact that when the store closes, they often have the workers stay up to FOUR hours afterwards fixing things for the next morning... none of which is factored in to their hours ahead of time (basically, forget 40 hour weeks in a lot of cases, but don't count on overtime pay).
Thank you. Thank you. I don't work in retail, I work as a server in a restaurant, and although we don't have to face all the same troubles as you, we face a lot of them, and a bunch of others. Either way, my experiences don't really qualify as hating retail, since I can sympathize with the people earning a decent buck, and I don't want to derail the thread anymore than I already have... so I'll just go to sleep so I can close tomorrow while and attend the early mandatory but unpaid meeting the day after. Oh, one thing I hate about retail: The parking lots. I have yet to have a good experience in a mall, strip-mall, or groccery store parking lot. I have had plenty bad ones though. ...and a lot of them are designed so poorly. -r2
You mean.... you don't[/i']?
Don't make fun Dagger. Some people lost their third and fourth legs and are quite sensitive about it. I still have mine, but I have a few friends that are impaired this way. [will update later with picture] :3 I just got a new Camera so I'm probably going to spam this thread soon. -r2 -
You'll notice that the box in the picture Dagger posted also didn't have the same style to the art box from Volume 1. It looks more like the regular DVD case.
I hate the high prices of much of these sepcial editions, I will ...//snip//... sleeo with my face in the Haruhi [/B'] grils...
Normally I'm all for releasing things closer together, but considering the price they're asking (...and that I was supposed to be saving money...)
Do you mean Kamichama Karin?
Actually, I think they're talking about the Manga/Anime called "Karin" in Japanese and "Chibi Vampire" in English. From Wikipedia:
Chibi Vampire is the title used for the English translation of the Karin manga and novels.[3] The title was changed by the U.S. publisher Tokyopop to avoid potential confusion with another of their manga titles, Kamichama Karin.
Heh, looks like the name change was a good idea. lol. Sorry for taking so long. I was stuck at work for a few days... (
and didn't actually expect to win lol
). I give you random picture from my folder #1023DAISY. I can't actually see your picture, so I tracked it down and uploaded it to imageshack. Maybe that's why nobody replied yet. :animeswea ...anyway... I'm not sure why... to be honest, I don't actually wear glasses... and I kinda have vampire hair in this... But I swear, it was just parted strangely. That, and it almost matches the colour scheme of the boards. -r2 -
That doesn't really help her much kamichamamew. The cosplay patterns she's talking about are meant for sewing up after you trace them on cloth and cut them out. Sesshomaru222...2...2... If the patterns are free? Why not try to use them? Do they not make enough sense without written instructions? Though I guess Gothic Lolita dresses might not be the easiest thing in the world to sew, considering the amount of frills they have. >.< -r2

kamichamamew, Maybe you could let us know why it was boring? Or maybe you had some insights on the show, possibly what you would do to improve it? Anything to add to the discussion. Keep in mind that although OB wants you to have fun, we emphasize quality and content in posts. Spammy posts that don't really help out the conversation isn't much fun for anyone. :P -r2

Firstly, DJayysaurus!,, you're not ugly. You look pretty good (
but maybe it's because I'm leniant towards Asians xD
) but the fact you have a boyfriend also says a lot. XP If you want to see ugly, take a look at that picture Raiyuu posted up of me... below your post. Now... getting to that... I am not afraid to admit the way I look. Even if it is embaressing... That is why I kept that up there. And although I do try to avoid the less... flattering, versions of me, I don't try to hide them. :) Vengece is unnecessary Raiyuu. But it will come. And in a form that will surprise you. Maybe I'll creep into your room at night while you're sleeping and tie little tiny ropes to every hair in your body and pull them all out at the same time... Maybe not. Either way you will be ninja'd. Ah screw it, who am I kidding. I give you, revenge!!!! Too bad it aint as embarrassing as mine. T_T By the way, I wasn't actually drunk in that photo (though I wish I were, it would have explained so much). This is me drunkenstyle. Thus I can not go to Long Beach California, by June 29, and considering they are probably never going to come back, I'm going to go shoot myself now. Well... according to Wiki... (heh -_-'') the American version has the chefs know what the secret ingredient is about 15 minutes before they actually start the cooking, but the reason is because they refilm the intro over and over. The Japanese Iron Chefs have 5 minutes to actually discuss the dishes before they start. Also... there's a list of "possible" ingredients that the producers give the chefs and the Iron Chefs give the producers a shopping list so they'll have all the right ingredients to support the secret one. So... the Chef might be able to tell what the ingredient is by looking at the food the producers bought for him. Though, I'm not sure if this is true for the Japanese one too, it would make sense for it to be... -r2

Foreign Languages in General + Personal Korean translation request

I'm like AzureWolf with my native tongue for the reasons Panda listed. Though, as the years have been passing (and with less and less contact with people who speak my native dialect) I'm finding it more and more difficult to understand words I used to understand. Being born in the Visayan area of the Philippines, my first language was a form of Bisaya, Cebuano really. That was the only thing I really spoke until I turned two and moved to Canada. From then my parents intensively taught me English so I could advance in the schools. Now years later, I have few people who prefer to talk to me in Cebuano rather than English, and there are no classes to take it since most of the Filipinos in this city speak the national language, Tagalog. I have completed three years of Japanese via Saturday class, but I've stopped because it interfeared with my schedule at work. Oh... and because I live in Canada, I have 9 years of French under my belt... but if I try to speak much of it... Japanese comes out. >_> -r2 -
I was a fan of the Iron Chef for a little while there. It wasn't the longest period of time and I didn't obsess over the fandom like I could have... (is there a fandom?) but it was fun to watch. I enjoyed watching the Iron Chef specials (with Bobby Flay as the challanger) but I couldn't sit through an episode of the William Shatner hosted ones (Iron Chef USA). I haven't seen any of the more recent ones (Iron Chef America) but I probably wont be seeking it out. xD That reminds me... I'm hungry... -r2
