Digimon has been around longer 1990.
I beg to differ on the aforementioned point. The first incarnation of Digimon was the toy and came out at the end of Q2 1997. It had been in production since 1995, but by that year the Pokemon game (still called Pocket Monsters) was already released. If you're counting by Anime, Digimon was first run on March 7 1999 while Pokemon had already been out for two years, starting from April 1 1997. Source: Wikipedia Also, since Otakuboards emphasizes conversation, hopefully intelligent ones, I encourage you to put a little more effort into researching your statements and improving your post quality. This means using proper spelling and enough content to help move the conversation forward. Although short posts are not unwelcome, it would be more helpful if you had more in your post than "All of my ideas to bakc this up has already been taken." -r2
I know and I try to avoid scanlations if possible and go for the more legit sources. //snip// other than Shouen Jump and Newtype I'm not famalir with what magazines for this kind of stuff there is.
Well you're in luck because the English version of the Naruto Manga is printed in the monthly Shonen Jump magazine. The chapters these guys are talking about, though, are the scanlations of the Japanese chapters coming out in the Japanese version of the magazine, Shounen Jump. If you want a legit source of these chapters in English, you'll have to wait until Shonen Jump catches up. Otherwise, you can just read the chapters they have now. ^^ Of course there's also the Graphic Novels that they release. xP -r2
and later what sounds like "sumarai" and it's translated as "I'm sorry."
To possibly bridge Chikara Kokoro's answer about sumimasen and what you heard, "sumimasen" is in a formal tense. The plain form of this would be "sumanai" which may have been what you heard. -r2

MR.CO, Firstly, welcome to Otakuboards. Introduction threads, like this, aren't permitted because of the spammy replies, like above, that they tend to induce. Although the initial post was of nice quality, I'm going to have to close this thread. AnimeHeroX and Guardian Angel, Since you're both full fledged members, you should both know about how we insist on quality and content in all the posts. Although making reccomendations is welcome, posting lists is not. If you want to reccomend something, describe it. Tell us about it. Express your opinions about it. Thread Closed. -r2

A simple reminder: Posts should be written in a clear manner. Proper grammar and spelling are emphasized, and when suggestions are made, discussion fodder should be included. Descriptions of the series, personal opinions, and/or other reviews help describe a series/movie to the person asking for them. If these continue to be missing from posts, and the thread degrades, it will be closed. -r2
In the early anime episodes it had "filler" flashbacks that just showed what we already knew.
Although some "flashback fillers" are not entertaining (personally I found Sakura and Ino's backstory to be a bore) some of the addendums to the story aren't always bad. The Tenten vs Temari fight wasn't in the Manga, and there are a few fights in the current arcs of the Manga that have me looking forward to their Anime versions. Pretty much, I agree with you on most of the backstory fillers, but the new fights in the Anime I'm glad they add. -r2

Since the answer has been found, there is little discussion value left in this thread. Ergo... Thread Closed. -r2

I don't want to be the bringer of bad news. But the creator of Berserk started making the anime a long time ago and eventually came out with the manga,
The Berserk Manga came out 9 years before the Anime.
after a while he came out with the series. Basically what I am trying to say is that he doesn't want to make a next series because he is too lazy to make it.
The Manga series is still being published in Japan. One volume is released twice a year. And the chapters are released in Young Animal, a "semi-monthly (every second and fourth Friday of the month) magazine." They are currently in the "Millenium Falcon Arc" in the "Chapter of Falconia". Think Han Solo is anywhere around? 8) -r2

Anime Panda Go Panda || Strange Anime related Depression
r2vq replied to Cazzilla's topic in Otaku Central
Please remember that Otakuboards requires both post quality and discussion for a thread to be permitted. This thread holds neither. Thread Closed. -r2 -
Especially for someone who has been here for half a year, better post quality is expected for official anime threads. Improve your grammar, your spelling, and try to make yourself more clear. I had to add spoiler tags, correct the title, but I wont go through your post and be your English teacher. Also, try not to reveal too many plot elements without using the spoiler tags. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or any of the other moderators. Thread Closed. -r2

Wasn't trying to make you look stupid, just pointing something out :( ... and in the process answering your question. :p Anyway, even if it wasn't done by Tezuka, it's definately inspired by him. It looks like the classic Tezuka style, especially that smaller version of the Proffessor... I still haven't seen an episode of this, but I should soon... *goes off to desperately search for the first time* (there... normal emoticons for Ikillion. 8)) -r2
I like that game it's like WarioWare but really educational. this may sound cliche but who ever thaught learning could be that much fun.
Does the game really teach you anything? Or does it just train you. I would assume that doing simple equations as quickly as they want you to isn't something that will really give you answers for a test. Anyway, I haven't touched this game yet. I was looking forward to it, but now I am worried how quickly the game would get boring for me. It doesn't really feel like a video game if you get what I mean. Though, I guess that's what Nintendo was going for. -r2
Hmmm i wonder if they got Osamu Tezuka from astro boy to help make that show?
I was under the impression that Osamu Tezuka died years ago. 8) -r2

This is one of them. The new Futureshop commercial where it's dubbed four times within 30 seconds is amazing too. 8)
Wow, how do you keep your prices so low for your CANADA DAY....... sale? Oh we use the same commercial for all our sales, like this one, our CANADA DAY....... sale, and just dub them over!
-r2

Anime what do you think should change on any anime and why
r2vq replied to frankieanime's topic in Otaku Central
Aceburner, if you wish to contribute to a thread, it's highly recommended that you have more content than what you have submitted. You could have explained why you think 4kids shouldn't dub Anime anymore. You're pretty much not contributing to the thread at all. Anyway, this too is a dead thread from months ago. Thread Closed. -r2 -
Aceburner, please don't reopen threads that are long dead; they're dead for a reason. This thread was an April Fools joke and is no longer relevant since Full Metal Alchemist has already been on television (in full, I believe). Thread Closed. -r2

Who saw the game between Italy and Germany today? Those last four or five minutes were the best four or five minutes I've ever seen in a soccer game. 8) When there was only five minutes left, my friends and I assumed that
the game would end with a 0-0 score. We thought it would go to shoot-outs... meaning, for us, that Germany would be the definite winners. Heh, heh. Boy were we wrong.
-r2

MODERATOR WARNING -- READ THIS Way too many posts have either been deleted, or edited to include a warning from a moderator. This thread had started off well enough, but the post quality has slowly degraded. There are too many spammy posts that have been deleted on the most recent page of the thread. If anymore posts stray from the set rules for Otakuboards, this thread will be closed. Please remember that Otakuboards is a quality, conversation based forum. When it comes to threads like this, we expect a level of content to be present in the posts. Backing-up what is being said will strengthen the points in a post, as well as add fuel to the conversation. Simply stating which character resembles you without any reasons, or with a poor post level, is insufficient. Put simply: Bad posts = Thread Closed Good posts = Thread Open If anyone has any questions or comments feel free to PM me or any of the other moderators on this topic. -r2

That's the main character from Ragnarok the Animation. His name is Roan and he's of Swordsman class. To Doublehex and Kenshin DX, the next time somebody asks you to verify something, you should double check your answer before sending them into a confusing wild goose chase. You could have quickly realized that it wasn't Gene Starwind from doing a Google Image Search. Like so. Now that the answer is found, there's very little discussion value in this thread. Thread Closed. -r2

Otakuboards emphasizes post quality and conversation. Although conversation about deck types can be impressive, intellectual, and inspired, this thread doesn't seem to be going anywhere. I left it open after the first post to give it a chance, but nobody has brought the level up yet. Considering the quality of posts in this thread, I'm going to close it. Thread Closed. -r2

I learned that in a japanese household, it's customary to remove your shoes before entering. I've actually started doing that at home even though no one here at home is japanese...
Actually, I find this to be true with most Asians, not just Japanese. 8) I'm Filipino and it's just common sense for me.
I can also say three whole sentence in japanese!
Out of curiosity, what are those three sentences? ^^
The only thing that I have leared from anime is that you should never learn anything from anime. In the case that you do however you must follow the following steps...
Although I don't think you should take everything you watch without a grain of salt, a lot of things can be learned from the strangest places. Some cultures are so different from one another that something one would take for granted can be hidden in their media that would surprise, and teach other cultures. I think the shoe quote above is a good example of this. ^^ -r2

AnimeHeroX, this isn't "Guess that Anime". It's Picture Caption Game. The winner from the last round posts a picture from an Anime and everyone else is free to try to post a caption. The poster of the funniest caption, decided by the poster of the picture, gets to post the next picture. Give it a go, try to come up with a funny line or two for BKstyles' picture. Manga What happens when i try to draw manga...improved
r2vq replied to mangamaniack21's topic in Otaku Central

does a 'storyteller' need to have excellent drawing skills as well?
If you read the credits for American comic books, they have different people for writing, penciling, inking, colouring.... etc. For Japanese Manga the story and art are usually by the same person (with assitants) but aren't always. ...Though, if you're looking for a job in the comic industry, I'm sure the ability to draw would always be helpful. 8) -r2
