Anime Cartoon Network Line-Ups...and anime on television announcements

It's official! Adult Swim gets Death Note!! http://boards.adultswim.com/adultswim/board/message?board.id=6&message.id=4409549&jump=true#M4409549 An Admin at the Adult Swim Message boards has just confirmed a few minutes ago that Adult Swim has gotten the rights to air the Death Note anime series. Here is what the administrator said:
You heard it here first, folks. The new anime is indeed Death Note as a lot of you have speculated. This is a great show and we're proud to present it on air as well as online. It's first scheduled showing is Oct 20th at 12:00 a.m. so please don't miss it or you may find your name in a place you don't want it to be.
Pretty cool, huh? This is really exciting news. New anime on Adult Swim is always great news, but a highly popular series like Death Note is really amazing. :) -
Well, i really dont wanna use a book citation because i have no way in getting the book. also, like i said before, i wanna show that girl up who p*ssed me off. the teacher doesnt care, but i do. i know, it's stupid. but using web sources is the only way for me to go.
-
you are awesome, Kei. thank you. I forgot how incredabily helpful people on this forum can be. :) i'm looking for infomation that is similar to this from wikipedia:
In Japan, manga are widely read by children, adolescent boys and girls, and adult men and women.[7] A broad range of subjects and topics occur in manga, including action/adventure, romance, sports and games, historical drama, comedy, science fiction and fantasy, mystery, horror, sexuality, and business and commerce, among others.[7] Since the 1950s, manga have steadily become a major part of the Japanese publishing industry,[3][8] representing a 481 billion yen market in Japan in 2006 [9] (approximately 4.4 billion dollars[10]).
the bolded parts are what i'm looking for, since i'm in a Sociology class. However, wikipedia uses citations from books, which i cannot use. I need actual articles from the web. so, uh...yeah. any help would be sweet. this project isnt due until next week, so i have time. :)

so, im doing a project on Japan for a Sociology class and i have to bring in a piece of something from Japan. I picked manga. i said to my teacher that manga is highly popular in Japan and that everyone reads it. and then this one girl says "manga isnt popular in japan! Not everyone reads it". i wanted to smack her so hard, because that goes against everything i've read and heard about on the internet. So far, i've only found one website that says that "nearly 40% of all magazines and books published in Japan today are said to be manga". That's a good start, but i need something more, and hopefully something that isn't a wiki or a blog/editorial. that website seems to be a little of both. i need some reliable, verifiable sites so i can shove it down the bimbo's throat. any help you can give me would be great. :)

http://www.informationweek.com/news/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=181503968 http://news.google.com/nwshp?hl=en&tab=wn&ncl=http://www.forbes.com/technology/2006/03/15/sony-playstation-delay-cz_km_0315playstation.html http://www.us.playstation.com/PressReleases.aspx?id=335 The Playstation 3 has been delayed for six months. The release has been pushed to November because of copy protection issues for its DVD player and, (or) insufficient development kits. Ken Kutaragi, president and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc., attributed the revised scheduled to delays in standardization of the Blu-ray Disc format and to the inclusion of next-generation high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) specifications. Wow. I really believe that this will make the race between Nintendo and Sony even closer. What do you think? Will this delay hurt or help Sony in the Next-Gen gaming wars? Will the Blu-ray help or hurt Sony?

http://www.oscars.org/ http://www.oscar.com/nominees/list.html Well, the oscars are tonight. I usually don't watch it, but i think i might because Jon Stewart is the host tonight. He's awesome. It's on tonight at 8pm EST on ABC. It looks like Brokeback Mountain will win alot of awards. Also, does anyone here think that Howls Moving Castle has any chance of winning? If it did, what would that mean? It's up against Tim Burton and Wallace & Gromit. What do you think? will you watch it? Who do you think will win? Who do you want to win? Who doesn't have a chance in hell of winning??

Anime Cartoon Network Line-Ups...and anime on television announcements
dposse replied to Syk3's topic in Otaku Central
Hey everyone! I'm pretty sure i didn't post this here, so here is another announcement from AdultSwim:
Anime Schedule Reminder 01/04/2006 As a reminder, certain anime premieres have moved to weekdays starting this week. The weekday anime premiere schedule is now as follows: Tuesdays at 12:30 a.m.: InuYasha Wednesdays at 12:30 a.m.: Samurai Champloo Thursdays at 12:30 a.m.: Neon Genesis Evangelion
Hmm. It seems like they wanna add more ratings to the repeat-heavy weekday schedule. Do not forget about this change!! -
Why did you guys take it away?? It was one of the best features of MyOtaku! It was an awesome way to meet new people. It is now almost impossible to find new friends and sign the guestbooks of people that might be hard to find. Can you please bring it back?
Panda wrote something about senior members. How do you become a senior member? Is it determined by how long you have been a member or how many fan art submissions you have submitted?
that is determined by how long you have been a member of the website. I don't know how long it is.

Anime Cartoon Network Line-Ups...and anime on television announcements
dposse replied to Syk3's topic in Otaku Central
Hey everyone. I know that this was already posted on Theotaku, but i think i should post the entire thing here. There are important things in here for Inuyasha fans... Later in the night, s-CRY-ed will take over the 1 a.m. slot, followed by Lupin the 3rd at 1:30 a.m. Also beginning Jan. 2, the 12:30 a.m. slot will rotate programming every day, with FLCL on Mondays, premieres of InuYasha on Tuesdays, premieres of Samurai Champloo on Wednesdays and Neon Genesis Evangelion on Thursdays.
I bolded the important parts. :) I think this is....interesting. It does please Inuyasha fans who were screaming bloody murder against AdultSwim for the hiatus. But why do they have premires on a weekday?? Is it to get more ratings for the repeat-heavy weekday schedule? -
deviantart is pretty cool. i dont have a account there, but my friends do.

ook, now i cannot comment on any site! this is annoying. i post a comment, but it doesnt show up. then when i close the comment box and open it again, the white comment box is still there as if i never posted anything. Also, on many sites there says that there are many comments, but you can't see any. for example, on my friend Dark Clouds site: http://www.myotaku.com/users/dark_cloud/ it says that there are 8 comments, but none show up. and then there's this little couterdiction: "Notice Your comment has been submitted successfully. It should be available to see below. There are currently no comments available." this notice happens whenever you leave a comment where no one else has posted. how can both be true? I do have popup blockers running, but that has never been a problem with me. I know enough about computers to know that a popup blocker cannot do this. I'll ask my friend about the errors she is getting when i see her tommorow.
