As for this being a true paradoy.... I'm not sure.... There were elements about the story I thought were unique, turns out I was a moron and ripped really hard..... But on to the questions followed by a light salad.... First thing's first, good god I refuse to divulge the Pseudo-Science crap. Let's get one thing straight here...I loathe sci-fis...I can't stand to read sci-fis....yet I wrote one....crap. Let me tell y'all a story. I'm a huge Star Trek fan...one day I saws me a Technical Manual for the USS NCC 1701 D Enterprise. I squeeled and bought the book. I read it from cover to cover...it's collecting dust now because I hate Sci-fis....So, be happy in knowing that I have no global aspirations for Presidency or to divulge the inner workings of my Technology lest someone wants to buy the book at a latter date... Number two, I used Nature friendly technologies mostly because of the influence of my dorm mate...He was a physics major coming out of pre-med. He told me that we have a lot of technologies that are not "nature friendly." For example, the Endocrine system metabolizes energy because the hydrogen atoms in it are loosley bound. Those atoms can have an extra electron or two without upsetting its natural properties. But it can only metabolize negative ions. Cement is positivly ionized, as is Low Level Elctric frequencies emmited by computers...or something like that. I took that in heart and decided that Aden would completly devoid itself of harmful technologies not only for the enviroment and its peoples. I think that made sense... Number three, infact the Aliens have met Humans before. Language was one of my strong points in school. I know Sumerian, Hebrew, Greek, Latin, Ancient Egyptian, Japanese, and a bit of Welsh...but that was for kicks. In the language of the aliens (whom are called the Kortanak) they call humans the Suniak. Ak kind of akin to biped, but nothing really close in our language to get the same feel. Suni means agressor, or hatred, depending on the context. So Suniak would mean the Agressive people. I used that term because long ago when Earth was colonizing other planets, they were actually kicking alien races off of their home planets. Hence the Suniak. Number four, I use Earth as a term to collectivly mean the people who origionated or inhabit said planet. So Earth attacked this place means, Earthlings attacked this place with the blessing of the planets ruling class. Now my personal favourite....the Magi. In college I would always make fun of the meat heads...otherwise known as Football players...about their back up degree. Almost everyone of them, if asked, said they were majoring in communications...oh the sham degree... So I thought, what good would a degree in communications do? Well in my story, those people with communications and engineering in their repitoire went off to another planet and created huge communication towers. Instead of using the normal conducting elements that we use, they used superconductive elements. As a result they were able to communicate with transdimensional beings. Thus the great wizards were born when they learned that using some of our native energies allowed for those creatures on the otherside to come into our world, if but for a moment. And here we come to our FF X spoof with the summoners. You must be trained in the rights of a Summoner, and gain the favor of your summon before they will come to your aide....blah blah blah. Now to the serious question...I don't know if this is a parady or not...it was just something me and the ol college mates were fooling around with. I watched Vandred and thought Earth being such a bastard was awesome...played FF X and thought summoning and magic was cool...love Stargate, etcetera ad infinitum. So I'm not quite sure how this is going to work...just go with what I have, I guess...

Manga The Story Idea of a Manga I Want to Write
Anqueetus replied to Monkatraz's topic in Otaku Central
If you go with the title name, then you have to consider the inner implications of that name. For example, Osarseph was an Egyptian term for Son of Osiris. It was also given to the Hyksos Pharoahs. The Great Architect is another title. The names normally have a hidden meaning that the uninitiated of the temples or so were not aloud. I suggest you consider the culture before you pick a mode for the name. Is the culture open enough to allow the ambassadors of the Gods to be so open? Or is the culture have a sort of status leveling that would suggest that they would have initiation rights? Otherwise than that, your ideas sound really good. Keep up the great work. -
So I guess I lay on the line what I've been up to for the last couple of years....well here goes with my manga idea...keep in mind I did it as a joke in College as I hate sci-fis....yet I seem to write them so well...CONFUSION!!!! So on to the story...followed by a light salad.... The Story takes place in the far future of this Universe. Earth has begun colonizing the stars. The technology has reached a point where they can move faster than light. I kind of spoof Star Trek here with the Warp idea...but it makes so much freakin sense...so I quote Alcubierre's theory of warp more than anything, hinting with a bit of the Pfenning theories as well. Anywho, The story starts with a colony ship transporting some colonists to a planet in uncharted space. They joke around of finding "Eden." Mostly because they are tired of the Geopolitical strugles of Colonists and the Corporate corruption of Earth. The ship goes through a strange energy and severly damages it. The energy is explained later. The ship crash lands on a planet and mostly the children survive. There are huge casualties and all that sad stuff. Eventually the colony thrives once more, and they develope nature friendly technologies (out of reverence to the planet that spared their lives). Memorials of the crash are nerely everywhere. It is a Utopian society, no war, no fighting, no bickering. Everyone working for the betterment of all. A supreme council oversees all events on the planet (lovingly called Aden, mostly because they couldn't remember how to pronounce Eden). In this perticular series, the development of a technology called the Stardrive is being developed by young Alexia (nicknamed Tinker). Her father Markus (wow is that an overly used name...) is a member of the Council that is listening to her go off on the Stardrive. It takes some time, but the council decides to fund the Stardrive. I wanted to get the point across with these people being superstitious about flying in space. Space is dangerous to them...look what happened to their ancestors. Also I wanted the other colonies of earth to be legend and Earth itself a mythical place. Or atleast the Adenites treat it as such. The first stardrive is placed into the ship called the Skysplitter. It's called Skysplitter because of the effects of the Stardrive. In order for the engine to work it maps out an atom at the location they want to be at. They map out all singularities and abnormalities of an atom, and by quantum mechanics they rossonate an atom with the same properties as the atom as to where they want to go. So in other words, they map an atom where they want to go. By Quantum Mechanics there is an atom near them that is exactly the same...so they connect the two atoms and produce negative energy (Negative Universe) around the atom, causing it to expand. They do it big enough to allow a ship to pass through. And this results in nearly instantaneous teleportation. After all, they are paranoid about space. The Skysplitter flys off into the unknown and find an alien race (cliff notes version there), and try to communicate. Since I don't believe in universal translators, or aliens ironically speaking the same language, I developed the alternate language here for the aliens. So there is mistranslations all over the place, and the aliens open fire on the Adenites. Eventually the Skysplitter makes it back to Aden heavily damaged. Aden is peaceful, so they don't have any weapons. Alexia is all about peace, but Markus moves the council to prepare for war....just in case. Warships are made, as are planetary defenses, without Alexia's approval (can we see the main character yet). Eventually a warship is housed with freshly trained marines and fighter pilots. They set out to "aggressivly" negotiate a peace treaty between Aden and whoever they are. The Warship David (named after one off the remaining adult colonists to survive the crash) sets out with the Stardrive as its engine. They arrive at the location the Skysplitter dropped out of. The ship David finds a lost colony of Earth (HOLY CRAP!!!), and procedes to investigate. When they arrive on the planet, the technology is so primitive. They find out that these people worship gods, and that the gods demand on sacrifice every year. And my brain is slowly going down hill...so let's speed this up.. Earth is the Gods, using humans to keep up with their technology using genetic enhancements. They developed nano technology so far that they can hack matter, so long as their fortitude can handle it. Aden finds a remenant (an Earthling forsaking all that is Earth) and use her help to stage an offenssive against Earth. She takes them to a place where they can get information on a weapons powerful enough to fight against Earth. They find a geneticist who has a map in his dna. The Adenites use this map to find the Planet of the Magi. On this planet the people developed communication towers and such powerful enough to blast between the dimensions. So they communicate transdimensionally. Moving right along, Alexia undergoes the ritual of a Summoner (couldn't think of a better term), so that she could be an ambassador between the Alien race in the other dimension, the Magi, and the Adenites. All in all, I have Gods, vampires, Werewolfs, and Wizards... I explain how all these things are possible, but suffice it to say, my brain decided to cerplotz, and now I am speed typing for the sake of getting this post over with. I'll have concept drawings up.....sometime...I hope... I am well aware of the many spoofs and rips I've done....granted there really isn't anything new under the sun...just a different prettier package... I also have character bios to help explain the characters better... I can post that later...just my brain...ug....need more sleep...Kids, don't have babies until you are 68....and not young...like me....

Wow, it sounds like you really know where this is going. I wonder, what would happen if you introduced Language into this? The option is up to you, but I think language would be an interesting idea... For example, the Magic Wielders, being seperate from the other races (at the very least secluded within their own secret society) possesed a language that the other races couldn't figure out. Then again, I might not know how the story turns out, and added the barrier of a Language may hinder the plot. I guess it's up to you, but wow it sounds great so far. I look forward to reading it on the shelves.

Dang...how long has it been since I was here last? Probably a couple of years.... Well I'm back, not that I expect a symphony of trumpets or anything... Anywho let's get to why I was away... I wanted to perfect my drawing powers (which never happened)... I ended up actually going to college for Archaeology. I now have a Masters of Science in Archaeology, with a minor in Paleontology. I did a year dig in Europe and came back to the states. I was planning on heading over to Japan to teach for a bit, but endded up getting married. After a couple of years, I now have a beautiful baby girl... But why come back? Let's see, have a real job or be a comic book artist/writer.....hhmmm.... Well I will say this much, I have done some work for Microsoft, I did a little for Nintendo (not really worth mentioning), and did some advisory work for a game developing company by adding my advice on Archaelogical procedures. It was fun and all, but I would rather be my own boss with a comic. Hence why I returned.....I think... So I came back to work on my old stuff again, I also decided to " clean house" if you will on my computer. I came across this old bookmark and had to keep it. Looking over my old posts...dang I complain a lot... Oh well.... I hope to be more productive then I was before. Take it easy everyone. Sincerely, Anqueetus (a.k.a. Jerk-Muffin McGee)

*DEFENSE MODE* What? Hey, I'm sorry don't kill me! *Normal Mode* I just like it because the characters sound, well, pretty much like real characters. And I say characters in the sense I would be laughing a lot. I'm rather biased towards comedies. Oh well, just how I am... As for not being old enough to be published... nuts to that. Just get it out, and who knows, you could be the youngest Mangaka in modern history. Anything's possible not only with Care Bears and Gummybear juice, but with elbow greese and determination. Though I don't know where to find elbow greese, my joints are kind of dry lately...hhhmmm, wonder if Turtle Wax will be a good substitute...

What? You're making you Manga under the influence of Final Fantasy...how could you do such a thing? I....but.....that must be the coolest idea I've heard in a long time...now I want to watch the Final Fantasy cartoons... I wish I wasn't such a nerd...

Uio, having too much detail can be over-bearing also. Definately flesh it out, but leave somethings for people to speculate. Unless you wish to have a horribly long running Manga, leave some to the imagination. When I re-read this idea over and over again, it makes me think of Neon Genisis Evangalian. So this Manga could turn into a serious mind twister destorty thing that makes my head hurt...And that's always fun... So just get started where you are at now...and have fun. That's all I can say. NINJA.......VANISH!!!!

Well, for the first part, I use science a lot in my stories. This world of Anamok is Eden as we know it, but in the story people call it the Hyper Dimensional Time Stream. Mankind did not leave Eden at the fall of Adam, but at the fall of Cain. So that's who the Edinians are. As for their personality, I'm almost leaning towards a Deus ex Machina. I'm thinking they are the way they are just because that's who they are. I want them to be devoid of negative emotions, just so Anamok can go crazy as I want him to. Any thoughts on how I can justify them as being always happy and bearing no ill thoughts? On a side note I just starting drawing Yoshiko Tasaki, not only my Grandmother's name, but also the lady who finds Anamok and befriends him. As for the drawings, I might have them up today. So bear with me.

Rei, I'm not going to argue with you...since I agree with you......I hate you...why must you do this to me.....we had such a good thing going. Is it me? I can change....man don't try to change this wild hog! No seriously, with the whole naiveness like thing, yeah..that is kind of crazy. I guess really that's just a contrast thing for our world and theirs. What drives them in them, I don't know. I don't live in their dimension. Why do you have to be so intelligent, just let it go and let it be my atempt of being lazy. Stop making me do more work and fleshing out my story to make it better....lol... Anyways, as for my haphazard drawings, I guess when I ment young, I ment old? I wanted Erokyn to be an adult scientist guy, but not a teenager. Young but not crazy old hairy manbilla. But, I'll give it a go with no William Riker look, and much more manly-esque eyes. I'm also going to put more time into this..so the drawings won't come for a bit... For me to do a real drawing it takes hours....ug...but it'll be done. Rei, I really do appreciate your comments. Keep them coming...I DEMAND IT!!! (Besides Rei, your Jibs are well cut, and as such I will expect no less from those of well shaped jibs) Now, Calvin.....hhhmmm...didn't know I could post a Manga on here....well if can, now you know where my Manga will be. As for more information....got to be specific with me, what do you want to know?

One thing I just realized to say was this: A good way for proportions is head measurement. Shoulders are two heads wide, back of hand is two eyes wide, total body height for man is eight heads, while female is normally seven heads long, legs are four heads long, and from bottom of neck to bottom of crotch it is three heads long. Hope that helps.

Just force of habit, really. Nothing all that special, but hey, I'll take my anal retentiveness to detail as a compliment. Thanks, Guns.

Hhmm...well that can happen... I guess you have to decide what you want to focus on, or end up like me...toting a satchel around. I have a notebook for drawing, and a notebook for writting. My satchel also caries art supplies and hidden goodies, like Nerds and other such fruity solidified goodness. It is the only thing that keeps me alive at times.... GOOOD LUCK!!!

Aloha, Hola, Bonjour, Bonjourno, Buenos Dias, Konnichi Wa, Nihao Ma, Mara Aure, Swero Mener, Shalom, Em Hotep, God Daeg, and an all around Howdy. I'm in no way a veteran, but I practice. In copious amounts, and I study...a lot... The point is, if you have the FIRE to draw Manga....well you're on the right band wagon....if it just intrests you, You're on the right band wagon. Um....kind of hard to help really...If you want, you can PM me and I can try my best to help. That's all I got to say about that. (Forest Gump Mode)

Well, Rei, the thing behind this is one, a King is sort of a Title that means this guy takes care of the Lands and peoples. Two, as for needing Anger and such violence, it really isn't necessary. Or atleast in this world. What drives them? Themselves. They don't need evil to show them the way. Yet in our world, we are adults, and we need to experience life and such, so we need to have the wide range of emotions and likes. Think of it as our world is a little more complicated and such. Now on with the concept art I tried to do... This is for the friend of Anamok, Erokyn. Erokyn comes from the East, and is based off of Seto from Love Hina. For some odd reason my brain and butt just can't seem to work together and so when I rush through a drawing (these took me about five or so minutes to draw. Give or take a few minutes) it looks really bad, but I just wanted to get the basics down before I try really getting into the drawings. Call me impatient, fine. For me, profiles are so easy to do, that I just pump them out like nothing. A front view is pretty hard for me, and if I sat there for thirty minutes, I would have a pretty good front view for ya. A 3/4 view is insanely difficult for me at this time, as such I decided to omit the chance of you all poking fun at my drawings. Now this guy, Erokyn is suppose to be young and joyful. Unfortunately he ends up being one of the guys that has to take down Anamok in the end. So here are some images...they are pretty bad...(what's really bad is I can't seem to get my pictures up...hhhhmmm...)
