Anime Who is the best anime character, in your opinon?
xmystic_silverx replied to King Vicious 2's topic in Otaku Central
My favorite character, huh? I would have to say the ever calm Kurama from Yu Yu Hakusho. What's not to love about him? He is calm and intelligent, he's an excellent fighter, mercyless and very precise. Well there are other reasons, he is very cute and I love his red hair. -
I also like the Yu Yu Hakusho series, although I haven't seen many episodes. I've seen almost all of the Dark Tournament and a little of the beginning. Also, I've seen a few episodes of the Four Beasts of Somethng-or-Other (I can't remember the name). From what I've experienced from it, I think it is a very good series. Kurama is my personal favorite character, followed very closely by Hiei. I like it because of the action, but the dialouge is somewhat sacrificed for it. I say this because there are alot of kinda cheesy lines and jokes, but if you ignore that, it's all pretty good. Not really a critic's veiw of it, but a viewer's view. Isn't that what other viewers want to hear?
You said something about the cheesy line and jokes and thats part of the comedy part, ne? Sometimes they say stupid things that make no sense what-so-ever and thats what makes people laugh.
Yes, I like Harry Potter too, if you didn't already know from my RPG, but I'm sort of afraid to see the movie. The Third book of the series is by far my favorite book, and the simple reason for that is none other than Lupin. I'm afraid that the movie just won't do the characters justice. First off, I believe that they should have taped the movies the same way they did LOTR, all at the same time. This way, you wouldn't so much of an age difference between the movie. I mean, the characters are only suppost to be 13 in this movie, but the actors are 16 and older. Also, by doing the movies, they are sort of limiting the imagination of children who read the books. I'll say it simply, the guy they have playing Sirus is not how I pictured him to be. I'm sure this goes for a lot of other people too. I'm not trying to be a movie basher or something, these are just the truth of it. I will go see the movie, dressed up like everyone else, and I will enjoy it, either because it is good, or the simple fact that me and my friends are making fun of it the whole time.
I must agree that I love the 3rd book mostly because of Lupin and Sirius. I also think that they should have filmed it all at the same time so their wouldn't be such an age gap. The characters look so different, I didn't even think I recognized Draco Malfoy. I am very disappointed about the actors they got to play Lupin and Sirius.

Wow, no posts? Yu Yu Hakusho is a good anime, compaired with some others out there. I can't wait to see Karasu either, even though I also have the Youko Kurama DVD. "As is the case with Fruits Basket, YYH's Japanese and English VAs do not always match up perfectly. However, the acting in both languages sounds so natural and compelling that I have to give FUNimation a lot of credit for putting together a top-notch dub. I particularly love John Burgmeier's portrayal of Kurama; his voice is nothing like Ogata Megumi's, but somehow he really makes the character his own. " I think John Burgmeier captured Kurama's personality perfectly. So do the rest of the cast, Justin Cook does a great job on Yusuke, making him sound like a regular teenager and the same with Chris Sabat. Chuck Huber, I must give him some praise, I've watched a webcam of him on funimationcentral.com and he looks or acts nothing like Hiei would, but when he does his acting he just, well I don't know how to explain it, its perfect. He doesn't look like a serious guy, and if I were to do Hiei's voice, I would crack up with out a try. I love the attitude of all the female characters. They aren't fragile, whinny, damsels in distress. I'd bet they'd kick some demon butt too if they were given powers. Even Yukina has a wildside. There are a lot of things that make YYH a great anime. The fights are exciting and a character doesn't use the same attack over and over again, like in DBZ. Hiei uses the Dragon of the Darkness Flame but each time its more devastating. Kurama's rosewhip is his weapon and signature move, and I never get tired of him flinging his rose out. Yusuke's spirit gun has the same situation as Hiei's Dragon, powerfull depending on the situation. Kuwabara's Spirit Sword is just awsome. He can turn it into so many things, its amazing. I think the thing I like most about YYH is the comedy. Hiei's stort lines and "Hnn"s never fail to make people laugh. Yusuke's cocky attitude and perverted actions and jokes are histerical. Kurama's very serious jokes just crack people up. And everyone loves Kuwabara and Hiei's quarrels. Well, I'm just going to put that all in a nut shell... Yu Yu Hakusho is a great anime and I highly recommend it to everyone.

I love the Harry Potter books, and lately I've been obsessed with it. I even tried to draw anime versions of the characters. My friend and I went to the first movie and were dissappointed. The movie was way off most of the time. This time we're going again to see how much they made it like the books. Im at school and I just saw a commercail... jeez talk about good timing. Anyway, I hope they do a better job. One thing I noticed is that in Harry Potter, Sirius Black is supposed to be handsome... but then why did they get Gary Oldman to play him? His last name says it all "Old Man" haha! He's not handsome at all! And Remus, in my opinion should look just as good as Sirius, he always does in doujinshi and stuff, but I didn't get a good enough look on the commercail to see what he looks like.

What character do you represent?
xmystic_silverx replied to JuliasPeach's topic in General Discussion
Hmm... well, this is hard, I'm not the perfect child, I'm not the smartest in school but I do get A's, I'm terrible at home (well, sometimes). Okay, well Im gonna go think about it *thinks* ... hmmm I think I'm most like... Keiko from YYH, she is nice in school and she does well in her classes, but out of school she can be a pain. I haveta think more about this, I still don't think Keiko describes me best. -
Well, my friends and I joined Tech Club and we signed up to do a website as a team, except Im the one doing all the work! Well, its not like they can help since Im the only one who knows HTML, but my one friend keeps rushing me! And it bugs me a lot. My brother makes me mad... he has such an anger problem! He calls me bad names all the time and I ignore it most of the time, and when I call him names he blows up in my friggen face!? He thinks he can be mean to people but they gotta do whatever he wants them to do. He is so spoiled and when he gets yelled at he says he doesnt get anything he wants. Argh! When I am mean to him when my friend is over she says im too mean and "what did he do to you?" next time I should say to her "it the fact that he exists, really" ((Quote from James Potter, 5th Harry Potter book)), Does anybody know a country thats willing to buy him from me?

What do you do when you're at home sick?
xmystic_silverx replied to Panda's topic in General Discussion
Well, I spend most of my time on the computer, if not that, I watch TV or my DVDs for the umpteenth time... -
Heh, wow, I'm so wrong. I never said that it was a bad drawing, I just said that it lacked originality. Originality is what people are really looking for and what stands out. Why would you want to copy something that has already been done? Okay, so you people say that when you look at something and draw it, you are copying it. It is completely different to draw a landscape as you see it instead of a piece of art that's already been done. You obviously know that you have skill if you can COPY well, so why not try out something on your own? That's all I'm saying. I wasn't trying to be negative or anything, just giving a bit of constructive criticism.
hmm I have tried drawing original things on my own and they look horrible! I dont know why? I know all their features and stuff but when I try to make my own original... uh, well its like Ive forgotten it all.
Latin and Aramaic with a smattering of Hebrew. People on TV are not all knowing and wise. Linguistics people even said that the actors butchered the ancient languages. Me? Nitpicking? No, say it ain't so! Icewolfeyes
Ah! I see! Thank you for telling me ((obviously, my friends from school are not all knowing and wise either ~.~))
Okay, I've been gone a mere 4 days, but it looks like this thread has taken a nasty turn. Okay, I'll admit that I am twisted. But I have never considered myself as hateful. I tolerate those different then myself, both in character and religion. I feel I should get the same treatment. Being Jewish seems to make people hate my family. There is no explanation for this behavior, perhaps one of you enlightened folks can tell me. *Holds head in pain* Not all Jewish people are white. I have met quite a number of black Jews. They were actually quite polite, and fun to chat with. And why can't an Arab be a Jew? Seems like discrimination, doesn't it. No it wasn't. The prayers were, but that was it. As someone who can speak and understand bits of Hebrew, I take the authority to ask you to read up the description of the movie. I'm sure it has the languages listed. Icewolfeyes
What language was it in then? From this chick on TV, I was told it was in Hebrew, and since I don't know the language, when they spoke it, I thought it was.

Now I am confused, whether its good to draw something as I see it or not. I think I'll stick to copying stuff. I don't trace, I hate it when people trace. Thank for the words of wisdom from all of you!

Best Jpop singers ofcourse! ;)

Utada Hikaru and BoA have got to be the best! I love the theme song for Kingdom Hearts in which Utada Hikaru sings, and BoA does a great job singing for some of the songs on Inu Yasha! My favorite song though, is Wild Wind sung by Hiyama Nobuyuki and Oogata Megumi. I can sing all the words to it. Another good song is Kirei na Kanjou sung by Arai Akino. I think its a song on Noir, I've never seen the anime but I've heard of it.
I hate that most Christians in the United States are believing more strongly in Christianity because of the Passion of Christ a movie that mostly focuses on the death of Jesus Christ like forget all the Miracles he did, The people who he feed, the wisdom he spread, and the lives he touched. Lets all just be good Christians because he died for all our sins. Also I hate it that whenever something bad happens to the U.S. someone always says its the end of the world I read it in the bible like wow! I did not know that if something bad happened to the U.S. that it meant the whole world was effected by Revelations and the Apocolypse would soon be upon us.
I don't think it just focuses on his death, it shows his miracles too, his wisdom he spread, the people he fed, and the lives he has touched. As for the end of the world, well I guess I hate it too. We ((the USA)) has been through so many wars and problems, and we've lived through it so its foolish to say the end of the world because we will probably make it through it like we always have.
I don't like it. I really wish people would be more original when they draw pictures. All you did was look at that picture somewhere and then sketch it out. It's not original, it's just a copy. You might as well just have traced it. Next time and in the future, I would suggest that you look at the picture for inspiration, but try to come up with your own poses and create new ideas instead of just copying what has already been done. That's what makes good fanart.
hmm... I guess your right, Im not that good.

Linkin Park is my favorite band right now. I love their songs because they say a lot. I like everything about their music! All their songs seem to have a big message. Linkin Park will someday RULE THE WORLD!

Writing Today's Poem [M -- As a Precaution]
xmystic_silverx replied to Heaven's Cloud's topic in Creative Works
Im trying so hard to run away, but the path i was on always seemed to stray. You said I wont be alone anymore, But now I dont know what Im waiting for. The shadows are chasing me in the dark, And when I run I end up right back at the start. Im tired of waiting come save me now, I would save myself but I don't know how. Im so afraid I don't know what to do, I wish I would be more like you. Its over now you never came, And now, Ill never feel the same. Now Im all alone again, Ill never see you till the end my friend... ~~~ I just came up with that, I don't know what its called though. I guess its about someone who is lost and doesn't want to be alone. -
I don't know what message they were trying to pose by making Satan look female/male. Perhaps they were trying to say that Satan can take any form that he wants. Satan freaked me out. I think I had a nightmare the night I saw it. Anyway, I thought the movie was great. I can't really explain what I felt, Im sure myself and other viewers had a mix of emotions running through them. Some parts I thought that I couldn't take it anymore, other times I wanted to scream at the men that were beating him. Honestly, I wanted to cry, most of the time. If you are a person who goes crazy at the sight of blood, or someone who hates to read subtitles, then this movie just isn't for you. The whole thing is in Hebrew and it has the most blood I have ever seen in a movie. You will never forget this movie once you see it. Its like a part of your body and it can never leave.

Okay! Here we go... The worst game I have ever played would have to be Okage. It just starts out really slow and it has no point what-so-ever. A boy is stuck with the shadow king and its sorta like an RPG but its really crappy. DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME! The second worst game is Spyro ... all of the Spyro games. You are in search of dragonflies... sounds like real fun! WOOH! This game did not impress me at all! The voice overs were horrible and it sounded corny. If you're into simple, pointless, and annoying games then these are for you. But if you're like me and love the gore and action, I suggest that you just forget about games like these...
According to fanon, Inuyasha's father's name is Inutaisho. Of course, this can be no more reliable than the widely held belief that Kurama (from Yu Yu Hakusho) worships the fox god--or goddess, depending on your sources--called Inari. But since you're writing fanfiction, "Inutaisho" is definitely your best bet. Some people think of it as borderline canon, and using it would certainly be easier than simply making up some random name. ~Dagger~
I don't know about the Kurama thing (( Im pretty sure thats not accurate)), but I've heard people come up with weird names for Inu Yasha's father. Its either that they don't like his real name so they made one up, or they really don't know and made one up.

Queen Asuka, I think you may be right. I have the same thought. They say things like it only takes 3 weeks to clean your face. The same thing happens to me. But then again, it could just be that you have sensitive skin. Usually face cleaners say if they are for sensitive skin.
-
I like Inu Yasha! I don't love it though. I think it has a good plot and the characters each have their own personality ((Miroku being my favorite - IM not weird ~.~)) Did you see the april fools thing that they did? All the characters had mustaches! it was hilarious!

Its in my signature... wise saying, ne? I think so. Its very.... very something. Not the Kurama Hiei part, the saying below it. OKay, I should explain this quote I guess. Actually it was kinda altered from "don't judge someone until you've walked a mile in their shoes" they just added the having new shoes part. I think the real quote from whence it came, is really true in every way. You don't really know what someone is going through unless you've been through it yourself, thus you shouldn't jugde someone quite yet. This is kinda like the famous saying "do unto others the way you would have done onto you."

Yusuke has brown eyes, you must be thinking of Kurama... kurama has green eyes, Hiei has red and Kuwa... um his is just black
