I'm also deeply disappointed with the way this World Cup is shaping up in terms of the performances put forth by so-called world class teams.
This. So so very much this. It's just been... =/ Sloppy sloppy. I'm feeling like I don't even care who's getting through anymore, as long as they play a decent goddamn game. edit: Brazil v. Cote D'Ivoire - oh my God =/ pathetic red card given to Caca. No I don't think either team was being particularly fair and sportsmanlike, but the Cote dude ran directly into Caca's shoulder .__." then bailed, and then the lame fight and bam, red card. Crap crap crap. CRAP.
  2. @Ravenstorture, love the look, you pull off both the bob and the septum piercing extremely well! I'm in love with my new blonde hair. Well, newish. I dyed it about a month ago, when I got back home from University. Very happy with how it turned out, I've missed it!
  3. didn't watch any of the games today. Not really caring about any of the teams right now xD

  4. Natalie wasn't sure if she was offended or relieved that Peter had shifted on ahead of her to the shooting range downstairs. As much as she hated the feeling of shifting, she had to admit it was a rather useful power to have. She grinned and, placing both her hands behind her head, she strolled off in the direction of the stairs. "Natalie...?" came a tentative call from Kain. "What?" she snapped, without turning around. A pack of old matches whizzed by her head, dropping to the floor a few feet in front of her. "I'm sorry... about your lighter. I found these in one of the kitchen cupboards of the other house. I hope that they're okay for now." Before he had even finished his sentence, Natalie had let out a cackle of glee and rushed forward to grab them. She held them in what could only be described as a hug. "They're perfect! Thank you, Kain." her earlier anger had entirely dissipated, and now in front of them stood what could only be compared to a little kid on Christmas morning. Fire! Fire fire fire. He didn't say anything in return, but took a step back as if fire might actually erupt from her at any moment. "Be... careful?" he shouted after her, but she had long since forgotten he was even there, and had broken out in a skip to the stairs, far too excited about practicing. Alex and Lucas only laughed, Alex running a hand through his hair. Lucas gently clapped a hand on Kain's shoulder. Kain only minimally winced in response. "C'mon, Kain. Let's go have a look around at our new home sweet home. Leave those silly kids to their devices." Kain didn't look overly convinced but he allowed himself to be led away. ******************************* Halfway down the steps, Natalie could already hear the crack of gunfire through the double doors ahead, her excitement only increasing with each step. In one hand were the matches, with her free hand she reached around her back to ensure her own gun was still tucked safely into the back of her jeans. She reached the doors and opened them, and without missing a beat lit a match as she entered the room. Immediately she pulled the fire from the match and held it across the tips of her fingers. She jammed the box of matches into her sweater pocket, before pulling it off and dropping it on the floor to allow better freedom of movement in her T-shirt. The flames grew stronger and brighter as she made her way across the small entrance room to the second set of doors. Behind these heavy metal doors, she could hear mechanical movement of targets punctuated with short blasts from Peter's handguns. She tore open the second set of doors, hardly able to contain herself. The room she entered was a giant octagonally shaped room with hundreds of compartments built into the ceiling, walls and floors, for different targets to come out from. There was a control panel to her right that would allow you to change the brightness of the room, to mimic daylight or night time, and another to change the frequency of target appearances. The targets themselves looked to be some sort of heavy duty plastic or wood people shaped cut outs. The shooting range appeared to be more of a high tech training facility, very similar to the ones of their Second Sight days. "Nats!" Peter's head turned to her and grinned as he unloaded a clip into a target with incredible precision in the opposite direction from her. "Welcome, welcome. Glad you could make it." He gestured grandly to the room. "Make yourself comfortable, take a load off," bullets whizzed by her head as he hit a target just behind her "And have fun." he finished. "Why thank you, kind sir." Natalie laughed, mimicked a small curtsy at him and then bailed to the floor without warning to shoot a fireball at a target that had appeared right by Peter "Heads!" she shouted as the flame erupted from her hand and leapt towards him. He simply nodded and shifted away, reappearing immediately behind her just in time to watch the fireball explode into white and blue flame on impact. Peter whistled. "Never get tired of seeing that." She nodded in agreement, "It's even prettier when it hits real human flesh..." she replied wistfully as she stood up. â??Gross.â? Peter chortled. â??You would say that.â? â??I like to think of myself as an artist.â? Natalie stuck her tongue out at him. â??Hmmmâ?¦ you know what would be even more cool than this? Live fire practice.â? â??Live fire engaged.â? Boomed an electronic voice from out of the loud speakers. â??No shitâ?¦â? Peter tipped his hat back with one gun to scratch his head in amazement. Natalieâ??s eyes sparkled and the flames in her right hand burned brighter, stronger. The two stood in awe as several large guns descended from the ceiling, and the original targets disappeared into the floor, new ones re-emerging affixed with weapons. "Hell. Yeah.â? â??Alex sure has thought of everything, hasnâ??t he? Manâ?¦â? â??Dude this is just like weâ??re the X-Men or something.â? â??How old are you again?â? Peter feigned disbelief. â??Oh shut up.â? Natalie went to punch him on the shoulder playfully, but as she was about to connect, he shifted so she lost her balance and fell over just in time for several bullets to pass through the air that she herself was just standing in. â??Jesusâ?¦â? she exhaled, but she had no time to recover. â??Wake up, Callahan!â? Peter shouted at her from across the room as he continually shot and shifted. â??Wha-? Ack!â? she raised her hands and immediately a shield of fire was up, just in time to catch another barrage of bullets. She stood up, pushing the shield out all around her. â??This is incredible!â? she shouted across to Peter, who was shifting even more furiously now as he reloaded, over the sounds of gunshot and roaring flames. â??I agree.â? He was suddenly behind her within the small circle of fire, taking advantage of the cover it offered. â??Now how do we turn it off?â? They both laughed, and Peter shifted away again to draw the targets to him, so that Natalie could attempt to take advantage of their distraction and unleash an offensive. Just like old times. ooc: I let my imagination run wild with this one =P DeLarge, hope my vision is synched up enough with yours, everyone else I hope you like the idea. The 10th, thanks for the excellent lead in! Feel free to let me know if you'd like me to change anything.
  5. brutal TT_TT and it's a tournament not a regular season so appealing won't do much =/ I take back my earlier prediction of England taking it, btw. NOTHING IS SAFE TO BET ON, ANYMORE.

  6. I haven't watched a lot today, but my Dad was saying both games played today were terribly reffed =/ what's up with that.

  7. AHAHA GERMANY

AHAHHAHAH I SAW THE END, IT WAS UNBELIEVABLE LMFAO

ALSO THE STATES TIED SO I GUESS THAT'S GOOD BUT I'M PRETTY SUPRISED AT HOW GOOD SLOVENIA ARE.

  8. tomorrow's (easy) predictions to take their games:

    germany,

    usa,

    england.

I will be 100% surprised if it's anything different than that.

  9. did you watch the Nigeria/Greece game? I thought I wouldn't care who won, but Nigeria won me over. I'm sad for them :C and mad at that asshat who got himself a red card.

  10. "It's fine! The last they heard of me was Barcelona. They're not going to be expecting me here! Christ, Kain... I'm housebound! Just let me go, I won't be more than 10 minutes, there's that little place on the corne-" "No. You can't. Absolutely not. You heard what Alex said. Nobody leaves. Not til we're all together. Not til we have a plan." Kain shifted uneasily, refusing to make eye contact with her, as her own eyes drilled into him "I'm not scared. I can take care of myself." Natalie countered, almost whiney. "I know that." Kain answered, matter-of-factly. "Then what is your problem?!" her voice rose, now edged with anger. "You should be." Came another voice. A hand rested gently on her back. "Lucas..." Natalie began, preparing another argument. "Natalie. Look. We all get it. We know you're on edge. It's not exactly hard to tell with you..." he gruffly chuckled, before continuing, "We all are, really. Look at our situation. But sit tight. Alex will be back soon. I'm sure of it." he finished. Natalie raised her hands, palms out in defeat. "Yeah fine, alright. Whatever. You win." She lightly shook Lucas' hand off her shoulder, still clearly irritated but quelled for now. As she headed to the living room, she stopped in front of Kain for a moment, and jabbed her finger into his chest. He jumped and quickly stepped back and away from her. "And you," she started "You owe me a new lighter." he gulped but said nothing. Sometimes with Natalie, silence tended to be the best course of action. "Jackass." She added, before storming off, leaving the two men. Natalie knocked into Timothy on her way out of the kitchen, not even pausing to apologize. Timothy stopped in the doorway to turn his head to look back at her, before shaking his head and yawning, having just woken up. "Still rude as ever." he observed. "Still terrifyingly angry as ever..." Kain replied. "isn't it nice that some things never change?" Lucas smirked, leaning against the counter. "As long as she's still useful to the team, I suppose that it is a good thing that she is here." Timothy said, thoughtfully. "Factoring her abilities in, on the combat side of things, she does improve our chances of success in this suicidal mission of ours." Kain and Lucas both nodded. The three men stood in the kitchen in silence now, all lost in thought about the completely insane mission that they had agreed to take part in. "Have you heard from Alex, yet? Have he and Peter found Patrick?" Lucas broke the quiet after a few moments. Kain shook his head. "They're closing in on him, but for a Seer, he's as difficult to find as a Shifter these days." Kain said, pacing the kitchen nervously, eyes flicking this way and that. "Maybe he doesn't want to be found just yet." Timothy responded as he opened the fridge, looking for something to eat. ------------------------ "Asshole..." Natalie muttered, flicking a lingering piece of fire extinguisher foam out of her hair. Natalie now sat in the darkened living room of the safe house, flung haphazardly backwards over an old, overstuffed easy chair, her legs dangling over the back, her head resting where her bum should sit. She folded her arms back under her neck as support, and stared up at the ceiling, tracing the cracks with her mind, counting the spots where paint had chipped off. Her favourite lighter had been ruined by the fire extinguisher in the mini-altercation in the kitchen with Kain, and hence so was her only form of entertainment. She sighed, her eyebrows knit together in annoyance. Natalie sighed again, and blew a strand of hair out of her face, before cracking her knuckles. 'How I could go for punching something right now...' "Hurry up, Alex."
  11. I really thought my boyfriend Torres injected what the Spanish team needed to win, but they just couldn't hit the net right :C I'm so sad. THEY ARE MY BBS. I will go cry now.
  12. duuuude

    North Korea is playing tomorrow.

    yesssss.

  13. I'm not really expecting it by any means, but it would be pretty sweet if Paraguay upset Italy right out of the gates... Time will tell. edit:PARAGUAY GETS THE FIRST GOAL, LEADS THE MATCH 1-0 WHAT UPPPPP editted edit: and Italy tied it up and the game ended in a draw QQ Super tired of draws...
  14. Bought some ssamjang the other day from the local Korean market, which is this delicious bean paste you have with meat/rice whathaveyou. It's imported so naturally, there's little to no English on the packaging. In the top part it came with this little package that looked like a ramen flavouring thingy. I'm taking Korean but I'm by no means fluent, so we opened the package and put it in a little bowl to examine it. We didn't eat it though it looked kinda like spices. Just talked to my Korean friend, turns out that's rat repellant. So. I almost ingested rat repellant today. And died. Cool. Thanks Korea. (I get that it's imported and mostly bought by Koreans at the market, but with stuff like that I think they should probably have to put "DO NOT EAT" in more than one language on it...) Chibi, the few times I've had to write letters to my future self, it's usually along the lines of DON'T FAIL OR DO SOMETHING STUPID =P
  15. yeah :C I felt bad too, Germany ran circles around them -___-

  16. CRAPPY GAMES TODAY.

    poop.

  17.
Germany is on a roll though. And Australia is just sucking badly (and they're shouting too much).
fffffffff. Germany IS doing great for sure, and they deserve to win. BUT I think that red card on Cahill was BS because it did not look intentional. And now Australia is panicking and they are playing even worse and Germany is going to further exploit that. Too bad, since the Aussies have in fact had some great opportunities. They're stressing me right out. edit: 4-0 Germany, 20 minutes to go =/ painful.
  18.
I actually thought the Americans had a good chance to scoring a second goal and winning the match had it not been for Carragher's blatant foul, how the ref let that one go is completely beyond me but there were several questionable calls or lack of them in that match.
Oh I definitely think they could've won, but there was the reffing and they didn't have consistently good passing in the second half, like at all. So it's too bad for them because even in the wake of England's clusterf*** they still couldn't quite pull it together neatly. Not that I'm complaining, mind you =P
  19.
The Americans played well to give them their credit but there was something terribly wrong with England during that match. They'd seriously want to improve their game if they think they have a hope of reaching the quarter finals, let alone further.
;___; it was pathetic. England just couldn't finish a damn thing. I really hope they get it together =/ I think the pregame dudes said that America hadn't beaten England since like... 1996!
  20. I SURE AM GOING TO TRY. But sometimes I can't because my sleeping body rebels against my alarm and turns it off without actually waking me up, lmao.

  21. OH SHIN

    u sew silly~

will you be awaking early for the games coming up? Some of them start at like 4:15 your time o_o

  22. exactly the problem =P I'm agreeing with you. And it sucks for them, so bad.

  23. they would've slaughtered America if they knew how to FINISH A PLAY

    ohhhhh my god

  24. pfffft

    shut uppp

    YOU DIDN'T EVEN WIN

  25.
i think with the amount of times i was quoted everyone already saw that typo, but if my spelling irks you your gonna hate my capitalization. but if your mad about the soccer thing... you probably deep down know that vicious behavior is common in girls competitive soccer... a friend of mine loved playing soccer and did school and league teams (broke many bones because of it) and after every game she would be delighted to show me all the bruises and cuts she got. after that shed go into detail of how she got the girl back. I played soccer for two years, not very long but i get that bruises are common... however getting the person back? that's an exclusive to girls soccer from my experience.
I don't think that vicious and competitive are synonymous. Most of the girls I know through club soccer, yeah we are competitive, and we hate losing. But the getting people back bit does go away the longer you play (mostly). It was common in high school, in fact I recall an incident where I kicked a girl square in the ass with my cleats after she took me down in a crappy tackle, but we grow out of it. It's awesome skill building and learning how to work as part of a team and you just have to play long enough to get out of that be a ginormous a**hole to anyone better than you phase. So if I was a monster or an abomination for a few years because of it, it's been worth it. (Ladies, play competitive soccer ;D)
