Today was day 2 of Animethon. I cosplayed as Fuu from Samurai Champloo. I looove that costume so much! -
Just Animethon here in my city from Aug 8-10. Should be good, it was fun the last time I went and I've had to miss the last two years because of soccer stuff interfering and other such trips. I'm planning on cosplaying for sure. Fuu from Samurai Champloo and older Ema Skye from the Phoenix Wright games.
Scale testing is normal for virtually every instrument on earth besides possibly the drums?
I wish I would've been instructed on them in jr.high, instead of learning them while flying by the seat of my pants in high school. Life would've been much less painful. We only did repertoire tests, ever. Should've known better. But I didn't D:

I play the trumpet, actually, haha. 6 years, now. I can't imagine how horrible it was for my parents when I practiced and did my best to learn it at home. Those poor poor fools. Not to mention that I decided to change over to trumpet from the flute. I think they thought they lucked out when I picked that as my initial instrument. I usually never had a problem with song choices - a song is a song and I'm always happy to play, really. I wasn't a big fan of some songs when I wouldn't get the 1st trumpet part, but I'm a little egotistical so that was only because it hurt me a bit =P The most absolutely torturous part of my musical "career" were scales. If you don't know 'em, they sound ugly. And, just my luck, I never really bothered to learn them. And lady luck further decided not to look in my favour when scale testing became a major part of testing for me in high school. Memorizing orders of sharps and flats sucked enough, but playing them? Good grief. Somehow, I managed to finish with a very decent grade, all things considering.

Soccer. All soccer. SO MUCH SOCCER. All the time. I love it, it's fantastic, nothing else does it for me quite like soccer does. I've been playing for 14 years, 5-6 years were on a club team. I'm back on community, for the second season, and it's a lot more fun than.. probably any of club teams, but just as competitive. Nothing beats the adrenaline rush I get when I beat someone out for the ball, or sprint and run someone down (I'm a defender, can you tell? ;D). It's a great way to run off some aggression, and winning is also a pretty darn good feeling, no surprise, haha. I also like watching it... Eurocup, anyone? -
I second that notion. Am I cool yet :(
Thirded. Thirded so hard, nobody in the world has ever thirded a motion as hard as I just did. For reals.

It's a cheap & tasty food source. It will most definitely become a staple for me next year when I'm on my own, lol. Probably that and any other quickly prepared carbohydrate. Shrimp is my favourite, actually. But the only brand that I can say I've tried a lot of the flavours from is Ichiban.

I joined some 4 years back, I think I posted maybe 10 to 20 times in the first 3 years, haha. I got preoccupied with myOtaku and various other blog/profile sites. When I did post, from what I can remember, it was very.. peppy. I really liked the good ole' exclamation mark, and being the preteen that I was it probably involved some faces and whatever other crap kids like. Mostly I think I was afraid of offending people, or being called a n00b. I was most definitely terrified of people not liking me, even though it was on the internet (not that I'm implying it matters less here to have manners than irl, but I was such a robot about my posts "will other people like me? ohmygosh!" xD) On more than one occasion I'm pretty sure I remember revising a post like 4 times. For very. very. very. stupid reasons. I would most definitely say I've grown. I lurked here in the beginning of my third year as a member, and eventually started posting. Thanks to other forums I frequented, I felt more comfortable putting my opinion out there. That and I saw topics that I was far more interested in, now that I was older, and able to articulate about. I'd like to think I've come a long way from the freshfaced 14 year old posting I did, haha. My username choices also speak for themselves. Initially : CoLoR Me EviL

Graduated about a week and a bit ago, technically. I'd say I'm unofficially graduated because I still have exams =X But, you know, assuming I pass them all, I should be good to go. I'm... excited, I guess. Mostly nervous. Getting a job is number one on my priorities list because I'll be moving out on my own to Vancouver in September, and not going to school until the year after.. I need to save some serious money before then, but my summer is also packed with people coming to visit. /hyperventilate
Jäger Bombs Jäger Bombs F**kin Jäger Bombs I f**kin shower in that sh**
thank you. (f**kin' skanks) haha. I dunnoo, it's always SUPER expensive at the bars here, but now that I know this (Oh how wise I've gotten in the one month since I've turned 18 ;D), I predrink so I don't spend all my $$$ on just a few drinks. (I also recommend vodka slimes to anyone who likes a tasty alcoholic beverage, and isn't a fan of any sort of shot) We bought a case of redbull and I think it was a 2-6 of jager, and the jager alone was like $27 or more, I think. Annnd our provincial government wants to put a cap on cheap drinks! Nooo! And, I only have about 4 more shots left of that 2-6. D:
-
I like redbull, but only by association, because I adore JAGERBOMBS. It ain't cheap to get 'em though, either by making them yourself at parties, or at the bar. I got a jagerbomb at one place, which is less than half a can of redbull and a shot of jager for.. what, $8.95? Too much. Alas. Tab is one that I like by itself.

I just had my grad this past week! It was very exciting, I got lots of comments on my dress, which felt awesome xD I'm far too excited about it to not share, even days later, haha. my hair! (Professionally done, of course.. no way in hell I could do that, ever.) me and my bestfriend as my date, at the banquet. That's where things got really attractive, I'm sure, ahah. -
haha, oh sorry! Bad wording, on my part. About a week and a bit ago, it WAS beautiful and glorious and +24 Celcius which is actually like hot to the point where you can wear shorts, t shirts and get sweet sunburns. Now it's all blizzardy and somewhere around -11 Celcius and I am bundled up in winter coat and boots and wearing mittens to school every day. And no, alas, I don't know the crazy Fahrenheit equivalent. SO CONFUSING. Spring is usually, oh I don't know.. we'll say, between 10 - 25 above, on a daily basis. Closer to 10ish when it rains (because in general, rain is more common than snow xD). And we could potentially have green grass by now and flowers out, in a really good spring!
-
It's blizzarding here. In April. And I mean a lot. It was +24 degrees celcius a week ago, yesterday, too. I consider this to be terrible weather. IN APRIL. D: I live in central Alberta, Canada and yeah, it can be cold.. but generally by now, all the snow has melted and it actually feels like spring!

What time do you usually go to sleep at?
OMNOMNOMALY replied to Ellerby's topic in General Discussion
By midnight... except lately, I've been finding myself going to bed around 10 =X Haha, it's nice to feel semi-rested, I was beginning to feel very estranged from the whole "sleep" thing. School is getting ridiculous around now anyway, so I suppose it just makes good sense. On weekends, it really varies. Anywhere from early early early to so late, my Dad is up for the day, haha. Generally when I go to parties, I'm not in bed till 6 AM or something like that. -

@Revelation: haha, thanks! =X I'm totally not a dress person at all either. I actually ended up refusing to go shopping for a dress out at the mall and whatnot because it was just a big pain in the *** for me, so I bought it online xD I'm really really ridiculously happy with it. I'm also hoping that means there's a slimmer chance that someone will have the same dress as me =P -

haha aw! and here I was just totally thrilled when I saw that Rach nominated me! xD All the graphics look totally awesome, congrats to everyone, and thrillfactorx2 that Hopeless got on the list. I'll always be super proud of that story! Mercenaries for life, and all that jazz. -
Izoku sat up, very relaxed, and pulled out her pipe from an inner pocket in her robe. She knew before she had even opened her eyes that she wasn't at home, but a habit was a habit and she was desperate for a smoke. She inhaled slowly, enjoying the feeling of the tobacco entering her lungs. "Aahhhh." feeling relieved, Izoku now took the time to examine her surroundings. A cushiony forest floor sat her quite comfortably, and a leafy green canopy stretched overhead. As her head cleared, she could make out excited chattering. "Well, I suppose I should go greet my.. hosts?" Izoku sat up gingerly, dusted herself off and quickly let down her hair to brush it out, before pulling it back up into a loose bun held by a clip. She stepped out from behind the clump of brush she had been laying behind and into the clearing where the group had gathered. The talking ceased and she was greeted with stares; not necessarily hostile ones, but a stare was a stare. Izoku smiled lazily at them and made a half wave. "Uh.. hey. I'm Izoku." She was greeted by nods. "I don't suppose you know how or why we're here?" inquired a boy in blue robes. "I was about to ask you that, so your guess is as good as mine." she replied, smiling. She took another puff from her pipe and examined the rest of the group casually. 'I think I'm the oldest one here.. how fun.' she mused to herself. "Were you watching us from behind those bushes before you came out?" asked a girl, obviously the youngest one there. "No, no... I came out as soon as I was awake and slightly more presentable." "I was hoping you wouldn't say that..." the girl groaned. "This means we either have more people on our hands, or some other sort of company." A boy in a loincloth of some sort, who didn't look all that much younger than herself spoke up. They could all feel eyes trained on them now.
Freddie Mercury (Queen)
absolutely! =) One of my favourite vocalists and has been for a long long time. Emily Haines - Metric, The Soft Skeleton I love her voice because it can do really high and low and never loses it's quality. I think it's really unique. Lisa Lobsinger - Reverie Sound Revue So soft and full of expression. It just gives me goosebumps! I find it sad how the band is so relatively unknown, I think they could do so well.
Awww Anomaly, dating is fun! Especially when it's the right person. ;)
but I don't wanna D; it doesn't even help that I'm SO PICKY. My standards are so ridiculous, and I think I make them that way so then I have more excuses not to date. Haha. I'm excellent, obviously.
I hate the idea of dating. It scares the crap out of me as well. I just hate the feeling of being totally tied down and emotionally tied to that certain person. When I do date people it feels like I am the weight bearer of all their problems. I just have a lot of guy friends to make up for it. They seem to find me innocent, adorable, and cute. They offer to pay for stuff and sometimes I allow them. Why get tied down, you know? Last time I was in a relationship, the boyfriend threatened to beat up a lot of guys who talked with me. I hate seeing people get hurt. I hate seeing myself get hurt. If there's no dating in the picture, no one gets hurt. I love freedom of the single life too much.
I approve of this post. Describes how I see dating exactly xD I've seen my friends go crazy with dating, and I've seen them all get hurt. I'm just not really eager to get into that scene. I'm completely happy being single, and no, I don't find it lonely at all. I just don't date. I discourage it, haha.
