Gender segregated classrooms? Yay or Nay?
OMNOMNOMALY replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in General Discussion
It's exactly as you said. In the real world, kids have to be prepared to deal with everyone. Their own sex, and the opposite sex. School is about teaching kids how to be prepared for the real world - what's more real than being in a classroom with the opposite sex? o_o that's almost the dumbest idea I've heard a schoolboard come up with in awhile. -
Yeah, at my school we're allowed to dress up. But our costumes DO have to follow the regular clothing guidelines. You know, no boobs or butts all over the place. It makes sense. I dress up every year, I always have. I don't think I've ever missed a year. I love going to school and dressing up xD I cosplay so it's a chance to share my passion with everyone without being too much of a crackhead =3 I don't really have a tradition on the actual night - I do something with someone different every year. This year I'll be taking my friends who are Japanese exchange students trick or treating. They don't do that in Japan so it'll be a cool experience for them ^__^ I'm dressing up as a Silent Hill nurse. Easy, and scary. I'm pretty excited!

oh. I won. >_> /didn't realize. sorry!! good luck ^__^
For the people posting, the guy with the red face is Tamaki, and the twins with the red hair are Hikaru and Kaoru. -r2
Mugen thinking to himself: I told Jin it was a stupid idea to see how much rice we could fit in our mouths... marshmallows work, and grapes work for counting one at a time, but we're at 246 grains a piece, we've been at this for hours, AND I REALLY HAVE TO GO TO THE DAMN BATHROOM!! xD LAME FTW.

appropriately enough for this thread, I have cosplay pics xDD so you can know what I look like and yet not. COOL. xD It's not that I don't have normal ones, I do - but. they're less fun, and not as good quality. >_>;; So this is me at CN Anime, cosplaying as Fairy Rikku from KH2. DOMO-KUN AND RIKKU, THAT'S MY OTP. that's a wig. a very very amazing wig that I love and adore. My hair is actualy blonde, but not THAT blonde or that long.. hmm. I'll dig up a Goofy cosplay picture to show my real hair >_>;; whewt, my real hair. alas, it is up, so you can't REALLY tell how long it is, but.. you can tell what i look like, and that's the point, right? xD I'm 5"5, ftw! *feels nerdy for being the only one with cosplay pics* PS Acheron, although I'm like the 10th person to say it, you and your wife are super cute!!
After getting pwned old-school by the Allies, Germany and Austria were punished times infinity and the punishment, combined with more nationalism, spawned World War II. Have you ever seen Band of Brothers? The point is, none of that war, or the previous war, HAD to happen. In fact, they were both prettymuch wasted lives. That's probably why the amount of 'whites' decreased so massively in the past hundred years. I'm not positive, but I'm pretty frickin sure that around a million or so guys died when you combine both wars. Now, take into account the idea that their deaths were for naught but the pride of nations...what a sad world we live in.
this reminds me.. good luck convincing any supporters of Prussian Blue and White Nationalism in general that the Holocaust happened. They're convinced that the Jewish people came up with the idea. But tell me. How do so many people just "disappear"? They even claim that the gas chambers were created AFTER WWII by Jewish people! And don't get me started on the "Anne Frank Hoax." I'll probably edit this when I'm less angry.
2. I prefer the company of people of my own race. This does not mean that I have no friends of other races, it merely means that I am more comfortable amongst my own kinsmen.
Wow. I have never actually become angry when I entered a thread before. Kudos. You got me riled up after about 3 sentences. I'm sorry to take this back to the beginning again, but I literally canNOT even believe he wrote this. I'm sorry, I probably seem TOTALLY out of line, but just.. Where do you live? Under a rock? Where is this type of thinking still okay? I absolutely do not understand it. Not one bit. People are people. Look past the colour. I can't even.. imagine.. I thought racism was getting better, but apparently not. I'm not going to call you a neo-nazi, or claim that in this, you think white people are better than everyone else, I just simply cannot believe people grow up in environments where this kind of thinking is okay, or even encouraged. Like Red 6 said,
His narrow-minded beliefs do not stem from malice, but rather from programming and brainwashing and ideals that have been driven into his head by his parents and people around him for years. Can't blame a guy for being a product of his environment...
I guess I'm just totally shocked. I have never met, in real life OR on the net, someone with views like that. But it's fair enough. If you're bombarded with messages like that, over and over, from a very young age, you're going to believe them. For the record: the fact that their wearing little Fuhrer happy faced shirts and smiling and whatnot? Paris Hilton has just been moved down to number 2 on my hitlist.

Anime it's been bothering me for years about an anime
OMNOMNOMALY replied to a topic in Otaku Central
sounds like heavy metal 2000. or is it 3000? we carry it at my blockbuster. but i'm not sure, I've never watched it. That's just what I gather from looking at the cover box and art, etc. (I'm sorry, I know it's short, but that would be my only guess..) -
it's like you made a thread just for me xD I am a super band geek. I have been since grade 7, so for four years. First couple of years, I spent nearly every lunch hour in the band room. I was in every band and choir my school had to offer in grade's 8 and 9. I won the very first Brian Appleby music award, which was a huge deal at my school because it was named after the best music teacher my school ever had, as well as one of the best conductors/teachers in my entire city. I play the trumpet, and I sing/have sung in choral. I used to play flute, violin and piano, among other things. But trumpet remained my passion, and 4 years later, I'm one of the best trumpets in my grade, and my teacher always asks me when I'll be joining jazz xD I just didn't have time this past year. But coming up, I plan on being every band. Maybe trying out for the provincial one.. my teacher seems to think I'll make it, soo.. Mostly I just look forward to jazz though =3 jazz is my passion. My own band? That's sort of.. in the process xD
@CHW and CoLoR_Me_EviL: Love your hair!
thanks ^_^; I'm such a freak about hair. I take care of mine so much. Prolly 'cause it's medium length.. this is one of the neediest haircuts I've ever had. It can't handle being outside after/during the rain, even with a hood and umbrella. it goes wavy T_T Every day I wish I could just get up, brush it, and leave. Sadness though, my poor blonde hair is showing roots now -cries-

I love singing. Honestly, I love it more than I could even describe. It's one of my favourite things to do, and I sing to myself out loud, head phones on, on my way to school and work xD I listen to music constantly, on the computer, while I do homework, and sometimes at work. As well as, I find it more relaxing to have my radio on at night when I sleep, so it's basically a 24/7 thing xDI love to sing Japanese songs, of course, because my terrible English accent makes it sound quite hilarious. I also like to sing Billy Talent songs... But in all honesty, if I know the words, I sing them. I know the words to like 90% of all the 800+ songs on my ipod, as well as most music that comes onto my favourite radio station. Shame I can remember that, but when it comes to remembering things at school, I'm so bad at it xD I sing to my friends, if they ask, I sing near (not directly at) customers at work, and in the next few conventions I'll probably enter a karaoke contest or two. Yes.. yes I am that cool. I think I'm pretty good. As well I've been told that I'm "great". But I have had some musical training, so it wasn't a natural thing. I wish =P I don't think I'm fantastic, but I know that I have quite a good musical range, and I can hold notes, and sing back anything I'm asked to, as well as figure out counter melodies.

1 ~ What is your NATURAL hair color/colors? it was blonde when I was little.. got darker as I got older. Now it's like a chestnut brown. Not that I'd really know, it hasn't been natural for over 3 years. 2 ~ Have you ever dyed your hair? If so, what color[s]? yes. many a time. pink, red, purple, blue, blonde, dark brown, darker brown, lighter blonde. xD 3A ~ If you have, do you regret it? Has it damaged your hair? no. I mean I'm sure it has damaged my hair, as well as gotten into my brain from the amount of times, but I love change xP 3B ~ If you haven't, do you want to? N/A 4 ~ Are you satisfied with your current hair color? no. I enjoy being blonde, however I don't like how it reverted back the bleach colour from fading. It's too orangey for my liking. I'm dying it a light ash blonde before CN Anime in September. 5 ~ What is your favorite style for your hair? [[long, short, bangs, etc]] medium, layers, and bangs. (L) Side or straight across, doesn't matter. I haven't had long hair in awhile though, so maybe I'd like that better? Who knows. 6 ~ What kind of hair do you like in the opposite sex? asian. Does that sound stupid? probably. They just tend to have the most rockingest hair colours and styles xD There's this cute Japanese boy at the mall with the sweetest orangey tinted asian mullet. And holy crap. Is he ever hot. zomgz teh hurr xD bah. don't judge on the self picture angle crap. it's a good example, however lame it is. =P /fails at life

I'm 5'5" and 131 lbs. I feel so fat when I say that, but, in truth, not only do I not look my weight, but I have alot of muscle for a girl. I've played soccer for 12 years, so I mean.. gotta build up something, in doing that. And as we train and do weights for playoffs in a few weeks.. I gain more muscle. -shrug- I'm not thrilled with my weight, or my body in general, but I've accepted it, and to be a good soccer player, I need to be at a certain fitness level and whatnot. I also realize that I could be in a far worse position, weight & body wise, so it's comforting >_> And I'm still growing so my weight will probably stay the same, but I'll get taller. I hope, anyway xD

Number one easily goes to my Mom. I can tell her anything, and we can just have the weirdest conversations. I love my mom and I don't keep secrets from her. She never fails to have good advice for me when I need it, and we're so alike it's scary xD sometimes if I have to get out of soccer for something preplanned, she always comes up with a good excuse for me (not that it happens often, of course >_>) and she let me skip gym so much xD because she knew I was stressed about other things, and got enough exercise at soccer. Alot of my friends think it's weird, because they don't tell their parents anything, but in all honesty, I find them weird xD my mom is a great source of information, because she dealt with nearly all the same things I'm going through now. My mom is definitely one of my best friends and I wouldn't be who I am today without her. I'll prolly add more later, but I'M EATING.

V for Vendetta, in my opinion, has to be one of my favourite movies EVER, let alone of the year. I absolutely loved it. Natalie Portman did a great job, as usual, and I totally fell in love with Hugo Weaving. I just found the entire story very interesting, and it was very entertaining. One of the few movies I'd consider buying.

I've only seen one, but oh man, do I ever love it. It's called Stand up! And I've only seen 4 episodes because the rest haven't been subbed yet, but it's got to be one of the funniest shows I've ever seen. Basically, it's about these 4 guys in high school, who find out that they're the last virgins in their school. Everyone makes fun of them, and they're really perverted, because they can't get any action xD one of the guys decides that it's his choice to abstain from sex, and says it's the trend in north america to remain pure until marriage... Anyway, as much as he says that, they all know he'd give it up in a second if he could xD The main guy, (yes it's sad, all their names elude me at the current moment >_>) is in love with his teacher, but then a girl that the four of them hung out with as kids comes back.. and is in love with the main guy. Annnnd yeah. They have insane parents, insane teachers, and basically... it's ridiculously funny. Check it out if you can! I need to start watching the Train Man series, I've heard so much about it.

Thanks for writing! :D
*laughs* Yes Acheron.. Yes I was talking about you xD And I actually giggled. I'm glad I have your support in my quest for a bosom. GET IT? SUPPORT? GET IT?.. yes. I crack myself up. I forgot to mention that I always wanted to do something with music. I was in choir for 3 years, and it was pretty well respected, because it was a city choir. I still sing, though I haven't had lessons in awhile, and I am learning guitar. I still would love to have a career in music, but let's face it.. that's even more unlikely than doing something with videogames. Oyvay. But reality is just not as fun T_T I hate being realistic.. so I've managed to avoid it thus far in my life, so my dreams have been allowed to fester and I guess I've just become delirious with illlusions of grandeur? =3
I might've wanted to be a Transformer at some point too, but when giant robot brain transplants didn't look like they were arriving any time soon (not to mention I was growing more attached to my penis and the amazing things it could do - something Transformers will never get to do) I gave up on that dream
you sir, are my hero.

1. Alright *laughs* I definitely had more than one dream. I had like a million, but some prominent ones would have been.. When I was really young, probably around 4-6, I couldn't decide if I wanted to be a ballerina, because I really loved pink frilly tutus, a fireman, 'cause I thought the hats were sweet and I loved how loud the trucks were, or a frog. Yes my friends, I truly believed that if I wanted it enough, I could become a frog when I was older. So much in fact, that I cut off my own eyelashes with safety scissors because "frogs don't have eyelashes." Yeah I was ridiculously cool, even as a child *laughs* 2. As I got older, like around grade 4 or so, I began to want to be a lawyer, like some other very cool person in this thread =D I really loved to debate and argue, so it just seemed natural for me to get into law. I got even more ambitious in grade 6, and decided that I would just have to become the Prime Minister of Canada. My dreams changed because I quit ballet (which is obvious, grace never accompanies me), fireman wasn't exactly realistic if I wasn't willing to risk my life, annd.. people can't be frogs xD 3. I'm 16 now, and again my dreams have changed. I think they changed when I played FFX for the first time. I was just absolutely enthralled by it, and spent many hours straight gaming. This was when I decided I wanted to be in a field related to video games. More specifically, I wanted to do concept art and character sketches. I still really do, but I also want to do voice acting on the side.. I know, it's probably stupid because these are very hard fields to get into... yet I figure, you only live once, so why settle for anything less than your goal? I'm taking some design courses this year coming up, and I hope I can get some really useful things out of it. Wish me luck, guys xD I'm going to do my best to achieve my dreams. Go big or go home and all that =P And I just wanted to say that I too dreamed of growing boobs, but I haven't quite been able to achieve that one yet xD Bláse, your story gives me hope. Yey.

It's been mentioned twice, but Full Metal Alchemist totally got me crying.
Both when Hughes died (and then his funeral got me to actually SOB), and then at the very end.. when I was all like OH NOES, ED AND AL ARE SEPARATED. Plus I was just sad that it was over. Yes I am very cool.
Spirited Away also made me cry at the end,
when I knew Haki and Chihiro wouldn't be together. I got so teary as she ran towards her parents, trying not to look back. I'm such a sap...

-
xD does it count if I say cosplay? though I haven't done it that much I just talk about it alot and plan them with my friend who makes costumes. Other than that though, I play soccer, about 6 hours a week, give or take, for a club (so, super competitively. yay me.), I draw on the odd day, and I am now looking for a job. Because I am far too poor to do anything cool right now o_o;
Wait, so I lost track after
South Korea lost
, which sucked by the way, the ref was visually impaired or something. I also saw the game between Portugal and England, and I really wanted England to win but I
kind of thought that Portugal would beat them
So who do you want to win? Portugal or France? I think I'd rather take France. Am I the only one that thinks Ronaldo is extremely annoying?
I picked France too.
I am soo happy they won
=3 Portugal came in too confident, and although the
penalty awarded to France was pretty weak, I'm glad they finished it off right then and there. Portugal did give them quite a scare, up until the end though o_o when they pulled Ricardo, and then he almost assisted I was like "holyyyy crap, if they can pull of a tie like that..."
And yes. Ronaldo is a little punk. =P
I have to disagree. Those two are now among the greatest commercials I have ever seen. This is one of them. The new Futureshop commercial where it's dubbed four times within 30 seconds is amazing too. 8)
Wow, how do you keep your prices so low for your CANADA DAY....... sale? Oh we use the same commercial for all our sales, like this one, our CANADA DAY....... sale, and just dub them over!
-r2
I love the future shop commercials!
Who saw the game between Italy and Germany today? Those last four or five minutes were the best four or five minutes I've ever seen in a soccer game. 8) When there was only five minutes left, my friends and I assumed that
the game would end with a 0-0 score. We thought it would go to shoot-outs... meaning, for us, that Germany would be the definite winners. Heh, heh. Boy were we wrong.
-r2
yeah I saw. I seriously could have sworn that it was
going to go into a shootout, and that Germany would win.
I was pretty upset that they didn't. I swear, I am bad luck, every team I've liked has ended up losing. Well if Portugal wins the next match (PLEASE, NOOO), we're in for another sort of game like portugal vs. nederlands. Full of diving fun for everyone. *rolls eyes*
