I don't really believe we have any great candidates running. The NDP would do a decent job, unfortunately, as you said, nobody seems to care. We also have the Green Party who are very cute and have lovely ideas, but will never ever even get a seat, let alone win the entire election. Most disappointing. And don't forget the Marijuana party. Whose entire purpose is to be elected, legalize marijuana, and then resign. Um. Sweet. I'm really afraid of the Conservatives winning. You're right, Stephen Harper is an idiot. An idiot who wants to privatize our healthcare and take away gay marriage. In short: He wants to turn us into America with a smaller population. Atleast, that's what it seems like. In my opinion, anyway >_> I'd rather the Liberals any day. And NO it's not just because I'm in Alberta where everyone is getting a $400 prosperity cheque.

Art Drix learns how to Photoshop. [Image heavy]

You're new at this? Could've fooled me! I've been at it for a long time now and I'm no where near doing something this cool. I love them all, but I think my favourite is the second one. Oddly enough, in some places, the texture reminds me of feathers. Perhaps I'm retarded? Either way, I enjoyed them alot. Keep at it! -
I'll start this back up again, I'm really sorry it took so long ^__^; I picked this one for first place.. Writing OtakuBoards: Enter the Net [PG]
OMNOMNOMALY replied to Solo Tremaine's topic in Creative Works
*bows* I am not worthy. I'm over a year late with this story, which is sad because I don't get all the jokes, but this is such a great read and I love all of the silly humour like wordplays and such. The cameos are so fun to read, and I think they fit everyone so perfectly ^__^
?There?s a bowl of strawberries?? the Swedish delight said in her most temping voice.
That has got to be one of my favourite parts. Very Mimmi *laughs* I adored it. Can't wait to see more! -
I have lots of pretty songs... Duvet by Boa, which was the theme song for SEL is a very pretty song. Fix You is also on my list. Great song. Swiss Army Romance, Living In Your Letter, and I Am Missing, all by Dashboard Confessional are pretty, though alot of Dashboard's music is pretty.

Hah. Oh man. I always have weird dreams. But this is the one I always remember when this topic comes up. So I was on an island with my whole jr.high school, but suddenly it started sinking! So everyone was climbing onto their little life boats, but me and these couple of older kids I knew didn't have one, so we were supposed to construct our own out of Kleenex boxes. So me and this boy that I like sort of had a crush on from far away worked really hard because suddenly there was a volcano and it was spewing lava and we were in a panic. We finally finished but we had to hold the sides together while we were sitting in it. And then my friend's brother has to come because he has no way of getting off, but as soon as he got on, we started talking on water, so we had to get out and rebuild the boat. It happened every time he got on and finally I started yelling at him about losing weight because he was too fat. And then I woke up. Very very weird. >_>
Since you seem to like more of the alt. rock/underground scene, some good ones for you might be Snow Patrol, the Killers, Franz Ferdinand, Harvey Danger, Kaiser Chiefs, Kasabian, The Subways...I could go on. Boy Sets Fire and Fightstar are a little more emo, but still pretty good. For something more hard edged, you could try 12 Stones, 30 Seconds to Mars, or Breaking Benjamin, and possibly the Unseen. However, if you have an adversity to screaming, stay far away from the Unseen, and 12 Stones just to be safe. For an old-fashioned touch, there's always rock-revival bands like Jet, the Vines, and the Black Keys. Also, I've got to give my attention to Social Distortion and Theory of a Deadman. Social D is more punk rock, while Theory of a Deadman is Souther Rock, in the vein of Nickelback (the singer sounds quite a bit like Chad Kroeger, actually). For a bit of silliness, try the Darkness. Or, if you like Elton John at all, the Scissor Sisters. Both are pretty light hearted, the Darkness being...well...very wierd, the Scissor Sisters just a little flamboyant.
I like most of the first bands you mentioned, though I haven't heard of Boy Sets Fire and Fightstar. Theory of a Deadman is way better than Nickelback.. I know I know, Chad Kroeger like helped them get started, but still. IMO, Nickelback = lame Canadian rock that I am ashamed of. Oh hey, I just found a couple new bands the other day. (Although I'm sorry if I haven't been paying attention and they've been listed >>) Has anybody heard of The Juliana Theory? They're great because some of their songs are lke super emo, but then they come back and surprise you with a really happy song. The other band I recently started listening to is Something Corporate. They're fun ^__^ PS - Elton John is sweet.

How the woman's body is used. [Mature Topic]
What's wrong with pornography? Well, I touched on it in my first lame post, but that isn't the only reason why I don't care for pornographic films/magazines. To be perfectly honest, it doesn't arouse me or excite me in any way--so, what purpose does it serve to me? And besides, if something did happen to catch my fancy, it's a tease to me--and I don't like being teased >_>
I agree. I would never lie and say I've never seen porn, but what I have seen has just been a neutral thing. I'm just not a fan of pornography. I just want to clarify that just because I don't agree with porn, or look at it myself, it doesn't mean I look down on those who participate in being in/looking at it. I might not understand it, but I would never go out and tell some woman who had been in some distasteful nude pictures that she was an awful person, and so was anybody who bought the magazine she was in. [Sorry, I know it may be a little late to clarify that >>;;] -
What color most suits your personality
OMNOMNOMALY replied to Ai.sAkUrA.chan's topic in General Discussion
Umm.. probably Orange - Because I find that it's a happy and exciting colour. I don't wear alot of orange because it doesn't look great on me, but I think it describes me. I'm a happy and hyper person, and I think orange sort of shows that. Green - Because it's not a sad colour, but it's more laid back and calm. And I have my calm moments =) -
How the woman's body is used. [Mature Topic]
OMNOMNOMALY replied to Citrus's topic in General Discussion
I'm most definitely not for porn, however, for some reason many of the women who do pose, or partake in videos believe it empowers them. Why? I don't know, I don't see anything empowering about posing not only naked, but not even tastefully so. Edit: Sorry Goddess ^_^;; I skimmed when I shouldn't have. Basically, I agree with you >> -
Nightwish Cradle of Filth
Nightwish I think I may heard of. Are they screamo? And Cradle of Filth I really don't like. I just find that they come across as trying way to hard to be something they are not.

I haven't played a whole lot of consoles, so I can really only list one awful game. For the PS2: Way of the Samurai. Awful graphics, awful controls, and no save points. What in the eff were the creators thinking? All the movements were jerky, the camera angles sucked, and if you died, you couldn't continue back right before the battle you died in, you had to go back to the beginning! I guess it was a good enough idea, being a rogue samurai making your way through Japan, but honestly, I was having such an awful time making the stupid character go where I wanted him to, that I forgot the point of the game. It was like death. It actually made me very very very very angry. :animeangr

Definitely the quirky guys that can make me laugh, and laugh along with me when I'm being immature. I really like it when guys are taller than me. I don't even know why. Same height is okay, but taller is nice ^__^ It's also great if they like the same music as me. Doesn't hurt if they're nice to look at, either =P -
... Like everyone has mentioned, the cg was fantastic and my friend and I were clinging to each other during the bug scene...
Oh heck yes. The bug scene. I totally forgot to talk about it in my earlier post, even though EVERYONE has mentioned it. Heh, I actually couldn't watch alot of it. I am really REALLY scared of bugs and when it came on I actually squealed and covered my eyes not only with my scarf, but with my boyfriend's hand too.
And when that one bug like attacked the dead little Asian man, and the other guy was fighting him off and another bug attached itself to his head
I just started crying. Not even just silently, I was practically sobbing. I won't lie, I'm lame. *laughs* I don't think I could even watch that part all the way through a second time. Yuck. (Hopefully this isn't considered a double-ish post >_>;; )

Jokes - You got any you want to share?
OMNOMNOMALY replied to Shadow Blade's topic in General Discussion
A pirate walks into a bar with a steering wheel down his pants, and sits down. A man walks up to him and says, "Excuse me sir, but did you know there is a steering wheel down your pants?" and the pirate looks at him and says "Arrr, it's drivin' me nuts!" Haha. I actually adore that joke. It makes me laugh every time. Likely, I am lame. :animeswea And my friend told me this one the other day... A blonde, a redhead and a brunette were walking down a road when they passed a farmers field full of corn. The rush in and grab as many ears as they can, but while they're doing so, they hear the farmer coming with his dogs. So they run into his barn, and jump into three sacks lying on the floor. The farmer walks in and makes a beeline for the sacks. He kicks the first sack where the brunette is hiding, and she says "ruff ruff!" "it's only a stupid dog." he says, and kicks the next sack where the redhead is hiding. She says "meow!" and he replies "It's only a stupid cat." He moves to the last sack where the blonde is hiding, and kicks it, to which the blonde says "POTATO." -
I'd also like to commend Jack Black's performance, I was expecting him to do some of his more typical antics in this movie, but by the end, I didn't even have my expectant smirk. it was great to see him in a serious role, and one in which he did well.
I agree, mostly. Jack Black did a great job of stepping into a serious role, but I found his ending line
"It seems that the beauty has killed the beast."
or whatever he said to be really really really REALLY lame. I actually laughed. I was sad about Kong, but I couldn't help but laugh. Again, as sad as it was (and I may get blasted for this)
as Kong fell, I got really misty-eyed. I was very nearly crying. And then it shows her on the roof, and Adrian Brody just climbs up the ladder! After everything is done, he finally gets there. It took him so long because of the stupid elevator, and I thought about him just standing in the elevator, waiting, and I laughed. Quietly, mind you, so as to not ruin the movie for other people, but it was actually so hilarious how long it took him, and then he finally just pops up after everything is gone and done.
Anyway, after all is said and done, I really liked it. I thought Peter Jackson did a great job. I'd have to agree, everything was over the top, but in such a way that you can say that it really was a good movie, and he just made the best of all the resources available to him, CG wise.

2005 was no raving hell for me. Right before 2005, my friend betrayed my trust by dating the guy we both really liked and then lying to all my other friends to turn them against me for being upset. But in February, I finally fully forgave her for it. I can't trust her anymore, but I don't hold it over her head or make her feel guilty for it. I turned 15 on April 28th, and 2 days later, I got my first boyfriend on April 30th, and we're still dating, 8 months later ^__^ In soccer, I switched club teams twice, first to Drillers where they cut my team, and then to Victoria, where I play now. I left jr.high behind, and as much as I miss it sometimes, I love high school alot, and I've met so many new friends that I could never go back. With the new friends, I lost some old ones though. One in particular who was really important to me. One of my best friends changed alot this past year, and I hardly speak to him or see him anymore. He started drinking alot and he changed so much that I didn't like the person he was anymore. That was ******. ALOT and I mean ALOT of my friends got into drugs (drinking too, but it wasn't such a problem as the drugs were). Mostly weed, but some of them began to do Ecstacy and such. It was really lame and I got into tons and tons of fights with them for it. Most of them still do weed, but they respect me for not doing it, and respect my choice (though disagree) to not hang out with them when they are on a substance. So yeah, I've had the ups and the downs. What can you do, right? Here's wishing you all a fun and successful New Year! :animesmil

I haven't listened to any Japanese music in awhile, but... Asian Kung Fu Generation are an amazing JRock band. Definitely one of my favourites. All of their music, although I don't understand it =P, is very catchy, and I try to wail along and make up words. So then not only is it great to listen to, it's fun as well XD And as for other genres? Try Utada Hikaru, Ayumi Hayasaki (sp?), and Boa. All very talented girls with very pretty voices. They're mostly JPop, and have some songs in English which are equally nice. Hope you can find something else you like ^^

I'm 15 now. I joined when I was 13, right before my 14th birthday. I think I posted about 5 or 6 times before I just stopped. Forums sort of intimidated me at the time, because I had gotten ganged up at a different forum months earlier by a bunch of 16 and 17 year olds. (I don't remember what happened, but at my maturity level, I may have deserved it =P) I am entirely over the irrational fear of forums now, probably because of a mix of becoming more mature, and making so many great friends over on MyO. I've found that this community is a lot more understanding and friendlier than others, and post quality overall is great. I love the OB and I hope to continue posting here for a long time. =D
