In terms of whether or not you know the series - it's probably actually an asset that you don't, in some ways. I will provide you with everything you "need" to know to play the RPG (my historical timeline is part of it, but there will be more). I don't want to exclude anyone if they haven't seen the show, because I think that would be too onerous.
