Robin looked at the remaining Titans and sighed. "Raven has brought some interesting infomormation to me regarding Deathstroke (It is such as cooler name than Slade.) and this new club. I'm sory but this is no longer a social visit." he said as he closed his eyes. "Than what kind of visit is this going to be Robin?" Starifire asked. "A recon and possibly engagement mission visit." Robin responded. "I'm sorry, I know you were looking forward to this." "Will we still be going to the club?" Cyborg asked. "Well, yeah." "Will we possibly get a chance to kick some butt?" "Possibly." "Than there's no problem at all!" Cyborg smiled as he got up and did a little jig. Robin looked at Starfire, Kid Flash and Raven. All nodded in agreement... sans Raven who just gave an approving glance. Robin let out a smirk and nodded. Bruce would have handled this the same way. I know he would. Suddenly Robin's communicator went off. Reaching into his belt he pulled it out and opened it up. Speedy was on the other line looking kind of worried. "Uh, We chased away Trident. But there is some bystander who tried to fight him by himself lying here. He seems badly injured. Do we take him to the tower?" Robin closed his eyes and responded. "No, take him to the hospital. We can't trust anyone but our own right now, we have no idea who he is or who he might work for. I'm not willing to risk the lives of the Titans for that, and Cyborg and I can only do so much. If he's as badly injured as you say than you need to get him to a hospital in time. Get Terra to do it and get back to the Tower, we have something to discuss." ---- Dun Dun Dun! Robin takes the leadership role! Anyway, can you go beyond the cartoon in terms of violence. The comics rule with Slade's kick assness. Remember when he shot Kid Flash in the kneecap to send a message to the other titans?

Robin rolled under Cinderblock's punch and attatched a small cuncussion bomb to the back of his neck. Backflipping to Cyborg's side he pulled out a detonator and let it loose, stunning the creature. Changling morphed into a mammoth and rammed the stone creature out of the pizza shop. Starfire took the cue and peppered the creature with small solar blasts knocking it unconcious "Titan's we need to take this OUTSIDE." the boy wonder shouted to the rest of the team as he pulled his alloy rod out and prepared to take down plasmus. "Star, keep hammering it from above. Beast Boy, fall in from behind. I'll take the front." Robin smirked as he spun the rod and rushed forward. Reaching into his belt he threw out some acid caps and hurled them at his foe. His ooze like substance melted immediatly only to regenerate more after a while. Starfire launched a severe beam of solar energy that came crashing down on the the creature splitting him in two. "Oh no. He has become more than one monster!" Starfire exclaimed as Robin reached into his utility belt and lanched a simple disc that exploded on contact, crippling the second creature. "Okay, now go for the first!" Robin shouted.

All I knew was that it was based on a manga of the same name that got large readers in Japan. I'll check it out if I see it. (Which is doubtful.)

I must agree about the co-op mode, it did suck that it wasn't in the PC version. But the Banshee and the MOD community really helped. As for the MOD community, Morrowind didn't need it or use it because it would be hard to do a TC for a game that frekin HUGE! JKII had a couple of cool TC's (the Zelda one comes to mind.) and JKIII has a cool Rurouni Kenshin one comming up as well as a new Kill Bill based one I've heard of.. but I have yet to see proof of. And your right, it relies on the strength of the game. But all three of those game will probably kick *** anyway so that issue isn't really relevent now. I simply perfer my PC because I like the mobility I get with it (controller aiming is too difficult, so I use a shotgun half the time in Halo.) and the added aiming of a mouse. I play better with a mouse and keyboard as I was raised on the same basic configuration since Duke Nukem 3D (awesome game!). Sadly, my internet connection is stuck at 56k because I'm poor, so I don't play online much. But I do go to LAN parties a lot and show off my skills at Quake III and Unreal Tournament ( I didn't like 2003, but 2004 is supposed to be nice.)
Oh, and delaying HL2 because of the stolen code was also bullcrap. First of all, so what if the code was stolen? Big deal! They want a modding community, so what's their problem?! I think it was just an excuse to delay the game, honestly. I mean, it came as no surprise that it was delayed (as a gamer you've gotta get used to publishers announcing ridiculous release dates and then going back on their word about 5 times before the end) at all. The only thing I was surprised about was the excuse. I think it's stupid.
I don't think the game was finished when the code was STOLEN. Not copied, just GONE. So the delay had to come. Now as for why it wasn't very secure... I dunno.

Hmmmm. Vega (Street Fighter II: WW-Super Street Fighter II: Turbo) AKA: Bison in America Vega was just cool and sleek, his power was immense and his combos hurt... a LOT. Remember his constant mix ups on the arcade version of Super Turbo? I sure as hell do, and I had some real trouble trying to get around them with large characters like Sagat. Now that I'm older and am an experianced Street Fighter Vetran and Fanatic it's easy to beat him on normal mode.... but level 8 difficulty on the US version of Super Turbo is still insane. I only use that difficulty to try and keep my skillz up. Dr. Wily (EVERY Mega Man game known to man.. and some that aren't) Simply put, he was a bastard. And everyone loves him. His constant mix ups (except for his damn spaceship he always used at the end.) of death contraptions throughout the games and the diffrent stratagies used on him keep this villan fresh as laundry from the dryer.

Well it kinda sucks about all those X-Box ports as the full games won't be the best they can be. FPS games on the PC have had the all powerful (since Half-Life) MOD community. Half-Life 2 looks simply amazing and has better physics, more interactivity, and cool new levels than the other two. It also has what looks like the most interesting and twisting plot of the three. Not only that but some of the Mods already started for it look simply AWESOME! Now if only I could find my old PC Gamers to update me on thier progress. Sadly, we can't enjoy it because of the stolen code (it should have been released in April). DOOM 3 looks really cool as it seems to have the best lighting system and easily the most frightening single player game... but it is said to be short and sweet. Now Multiplayer doesn't look like much now but soon there will be some Capture the Flag patches and Mods out as well as some other multiplayer game Mods and online upgrades. Sadly, we might not get Co-op mode though. Halo 2. Now this is wierd as it will most certainly be released on the PC... the question is when. Will it be at the same time as the X-Box version (which would be a bad marketing choice seeing as how many people enjoyed the PC version of Halo more. And some of the mods are pretty sweet right now.) or will it be a few months afterward (the best choice) or even over a year? It it easily the most action oriented of the single player games, and perhaps the quickest. But with cool new vehicles and weapons as well as the huge stages short single player games are acceptable. It's multiplayer will rule dorm rooms and parties for a while. Halo is already the best Console FPS ever, and Halo 2 seems to be about ready to crush the original in terms of multiplayer. Hell, I'm horrible with an X-Box controller (I can't aim like a Mouse and Keyboard.) and I still have a ball with the original. Halo 2 MIGHT just convince me to buy and X-Box like CvS2: EO did until I realized I don't have broadband. I still love Half-Life 2 more than anything else right now, as I think the first one is still the best FPS of all time. Will Half-Life 2 beat it? Probably not, but I do think it's going to be one hell of a ride I'll enjoy for years to come.

Six muffled impacts were sounded as the Shououken's dashing uppercut connected, smashing into the other warrior. After spinning from the sheer force of the ending uppercut the other student fell to the ground, hard. As the schoolgirl landed she looked at her fist guard. "What was wrong that time? the technique is weaker than before. I did exactly as he told me." she questioned as her opponent struggled to get up. As he finally got up and started to rush toward Sakura she turned and sent out her offensive skills. Blocking a quick left hook she returned the favor with a quick side kick and then dropped low into a footsweep across the ankle forcing her opponent to the ground again. Snapping off the ground she watched in awe as the other fighter did the same. "You're pretty good." she complimented but recieved no return. Dashing forward Sakura took to the air and smashed a flying kick to her oppoent's face, planting her full weight into it and sending him back down to the ground knocking him unconcious. "But I didn't have to break a sweat." She spoke triumphently as she started to walk away before looking back to her fist with a questioning look as she remembered the weakened Shououken. "What was it he said to me?" She asked herself as she remembered the day she fought her idol months ago. "Now, focus your chi into your entire body. Not your fist and allow yourself to release it at the right time." Ryu said as he watched Sakura try out her own skills. Ducking low she summoned as much chi as she could into her body and launched herself forward into a small Shououken. "You release too soon. It takes practice to gather enough of it quickly. It took me almost a month to be able to use the Shoryuken technique in an actual fight." he said as he got into a fighting position. "I'll show you one more time." Ducking down Ryu summmoned chi throughout his body as he crouched before suddenly taking to the air with tremendous force. The sheer wind from his rising pushed Sakura's clothes back. "SHORYUKEN!" he shouted as he rose from the earth his fist cutting through the air with amazing speed and raw power behind it. Snapping back to reality Sakura smiled. "I released the attack too soon, I still need to practice more at home. But mom got really mad when I destroyed the tree in the backyard." she said as she started scratching her head absently. She whirrled as the sound of footsteps to see some tall wierd Japanese guy and an average looking girl walking towards her. She let out a small smile and waved. "Hi."

Sakura entered the courtyard and was met with an unfamiliar face, he seemed like a 4th year student, but his uniform made him unidentifiable. His eyes looked diffrent, almost dead as he stared at her. Suddenly she saw a left hook come from the corner of her eye. Jumping back she go into stance and got ready to fight. Finally, a challange.. but it didn't seem like a street fight to her right now. Blocking a sudden left straight she returned the favor with a solid kick to his stomach causing him to double over quickly. Then she saw her opprotunity. Dashing forward and charging some chi she let lose her attack. "SHOUOUKEN!"

Wait. If this is based on the cartoon it can't be Tim behind the mask there are too many features that Dick had in that Robin. Dick was a master martial artist and had the crush on starfire. Tim was more of a stratagist and technical person than a leader. Either way I'll join as Robin... unless he has been stolen from my grasp. If so, I'll take Deathstroke... er, Slade. Code-Name: Robin Real-Name: Dick Grayson (I like Tim, but I see more of the original in the cartoon Robin.) Age: 15 Side: Teen Titans Powers/Abilites: He has been trained by the best in the DCU (Batman of course.) and as such is an expert in several hand to hand combat styles, technology, detective skills, brooding :smirk: , throwing weapons, and certain hand to hand weapons. In the top 10 in terms of DCU brawlers. Also a natural acrobat from his years of circus performing. Gadgets: A LOT. throwing Discs, Batarangs, smokebombs, alloy rod, grappling guns, explosives, and more than I can think of. Description: Pic Suit is made of a polymere made from Waye Tech enterprises that is 30x stronger than Kevlar and is impact resistant. Personality: Likes to be in control, also plays hard. Has kind of a crush on starfire and gets along with all of the titans equally well. Analyses everything for an advantage in a stratagy. Weaknesses: Most things that can kill a human being Bio: Originally a circus acrobat of the Flying Grayson's a shoddy mobster cut the trapieze rope which killed both of his parent's before his eyes. Bruce Wayne saw this and took pity on the boy making him his ward and adopted son. Soon Dick found out Bruce's secret and was trained in all sorts of detective skills and combat to become the first Robin. (Since this is based on the cartoon, I don't think Batman will even be mentioned at all. The cartoon seems to have it's own continuity.) hope that's acceptable. and it's finished.
Of course they were, didn't you ever see the ending credits? They were also a comic first IIRC.
They aren't, TMNT was created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird in the early 80s. The name was a pun on the X-Men's teenage mutants and the ninja's from Daredevil. Then it was snagged by tv and then it became a movie and a full blown fad. But like most of the other major comics it was made in the USA before it was animated in japan.
That was a bad pun, and yeah, that's what I was talking about... I haven't seen or heard them say anything about the show FOREVER, so the name slipped my mind. ^^;;;; Beetlejuice, I liked everthing about the cartoon, and real action. Ghostbusters, where in hell did you get those toys! Must have!
As I child of the 80s I got them when they came out. I still like the first 3 seasons of the cartoon (after that it blew, but is one of the longest running kids cartoons ever. And it also had some really cool plots and such.) You can probably find those toys on Ebay. Street Sharks though? Bah, TMNT would so kick the crap out of them. But the original Mirage comic TMNTs own.

Sakura was listening intently to Hinata and Natsu relate thier story about kidnappings around both her own and other schools. "What about Akira?" Sakura asked about her friend, she hadn't seen her since her move to Seijyun high. (you forgot a few schools.) "She seems to be on the case like we are, her and a few friends from there. You said Kyosuke came to help you?" Natsu said with concern. "Yeah, and the fight was just getting interesting. I know I'm the best fighter in my highschool, but how can I become stronger if someone always jumps in for me?" Sakura pouted as she looked at the ground. "What about that Karin girl?" Hinata asked looking at her friend. "She hasn't been to school in over a month, thus I'm the best. We still haven't settled our fight since before then." Sakura proudly exclaimed. As the three girls ended thier chat a few hours later Sakura was alone and walking to school thinking about what had happened before, a few students from her own school had been missing as well, she would find what was going on. As she walked she skipped her own school all together, she was going off to Justice high, maybe Nurse Minazuki could help her out. After all, she did come to her house to see her own mother once. As her white headband flew behind her she dashed forward .

I still OWN all my Real Ghostbusters toys. I loved that show, and still enjoy it. As for Beetlejuice I never like the cartoon. It was done better in live action when it kept some of the adult humor and gross out stuff. That and the musical numbers were great.

Sakura stood in the middle of the park practicing her form thinking exactly what she thought yesterday and the day before. 'If I can only be more like him, then he can teach me. I will become stronger.' she also kept thinking of his advice to her after thier fight. "A fighter who keeps training and improving will never truly lose." he said as he helped her off the ground. Her head spun after his kick to her skull, she never could have seen it, so she trained harder. Throwing another jab out she let out a slight grunt as she put her strength into it. She denied going out with Kei to the mall to train, so she had better make it worth it. That damn Karin would know what strength was when she was done with her. Suddenly she turned and saw someone approaching her, he looked like Batsu... but seemed slightly off. His eyes weren't the same and his hair was style diffrently. "Hiya Batsu, what's happening?" She asked before she saw him take off into a run. Sidestepping the charge she looked him in the eyes. "What the hell are you doing?" she cried as she got into her stance looking him straight in the eyes. "I'm Vatsu, and I'm going to show you what true power is." he smiled as he took to the air and sent out a flying kick which Sakura blocked. Pushing him away with her bodyweight she went back into position and rushed forward sending a powerful kick downward. "Flower Kick" she cried as her foot smashed into the imposter's face. He reeled from the impact and looked at Sakura as her hands went behind her and started to gain energy. Her eyes locked onto Vatsu and she hurled them forward "Hadoushou!" she shouted as the small projectile smashed into the imposters chest. Soon footsteps could be heard as a tall man wearing white and some glasses shot into view from the forest. Vatsu saw him and darted off. Sakura turned around and shouted towards the man. "Kyosuke, good to see you!"

Karate isn't Japanese. It is Okinawan, Shotokan is an exception as it was developed in the 40's in Japan (I think ReFlux should know, and if he doesn't someone else should and he should be ashamed. )
Teen Titans? Please. In my opinion it's a stupid cartoon with very little plot, it was only made so that people would start liking it as much as an anime, just because its drawn like one(keep in mind that was in MY opinion) American cartoons may be cleaner, but not enough thought goes into them. And current american cartoons are really the ones im talking about, they are clearly TRYING to imitate anime, but doing a pathedic job of it.Anime may owe it to American cartoons but who do recent american cartoons owe it to? Thats right, anime. Anime is also like a movie. Is there ANY american cartoon that has made you cry? Probabaly not. I can remember crying in Trigun when wolfwood died, what kind of cartoon can make you do that?
First off, Teen Titans was a comic book made in the 70's and just had a recent revamp with Geoff Johns. Now, the cartoon was released because: 1) DC comic cartoons have done well (because they are cool, and quality for the most part. The last season of Superman and the team-ups in Superman/Batman don't count.) in the past and kids are already hooked. 2) To get new fans for the Titans, sure they had to mess up continuity by making sure nobody knows which Robin it is (It can't be Tim, Dick was the one who boned starfire, and he was the martial artist. Tim is more tactical, they combined them into just a generic Robin.) but they made cool stories and made one of DC's coolest villans show up again (Deathstroke, or Slade in the cartoon.) Now the cartoon is done in an anime style to get to the children, the same demographic DBZ and Poke'mon are for. It was a marketing decision that worked out well as Teen Titans has a large fan following to my knowledge. It is a quality 'toon overall. Not the cool, dark, and kick-*** rendition of Batman in TAS but good. As for crying lets go ask a bunch of people who saw Bambi when it first came out and see how many cried when Bambi's mum got capped (I refuse to put spoilers on that. The movie is over 20 years old and a classic, thus the majority must have seen it.) Other disney movies have had the same kind of thing the Lion King must have made some cry, and Beauty and the Beast (Which IS an magnum opus for Disney. and an excellent film on several levels before they went for the simple style seen in newer films) must have brought out emotion in others. I like both, but so far American Cartoons like the awesome Dexter's Lab or the obviously anime inspired, but really funny Samurai Jack have really caught my attention. They are original and done with a distinct style that is diffrent from anime yet it ows much of it's existance to it. BTW: It was a joke about canadian cartoons, and most of those you named are American creations... I dunno about Reboot though (it was a cool series though. Bob was a cool guy.)
Wait.. wait wait... are you saying that Anime is dull? OTAKU boards man! Otaku's LOVE anime.
 You quoted my whole post to say one line? Anyway, It may be Otaku boards but it's hard to deny the predictability and constant re-occuring themes of anime tv shows and such. The same goes for American cartoon shows and just tv in general. And American Cartoons are not made sloppy. Look at the original Batman: TAS cartoon and look at most Japanese anime made around the same time ('92-'95). And the writing was simply amazing and groundbreaking for a kids cartoon. I'll leave this by saying that Cartoons of all kinds can be great and have been great. American, Japanese, Korean, Canadian (scratch that last bit.) all have some awesome toons and a LOT of crap.

OC: WHy did you sign on as a student but use the picture of the Nurse from the series? This confuses me. Also, I apologize if I went a little overboard with Sakura back there.

I was popular. I was a football player, wrestler, and I did martial arts. Studies were there, but not as important as they should have been. I hung out with everyone, quite simply because like most anyone who joins this board: I'm a geek. One can be a popular geek/jock it's very common. I was into comics, some anime, a LOT of sports (I still have almost 20 UFC events on tape. I don't know how many Pride, King of the Cage, and the occasional Superbrawl I have recorded somewhere at my parents house.) and a MOVIES (I am a huge film buff. History, Creative Writing and Film Appreciation were my favorite classes after all.)

Evangelion was simply put: Weird, orginal and totally F*cked up. I loved it. It really put me back into hope that Anime won't be generic stuff anymore. Gundam was a big original series that redifined Giant Robot anime. Without it Evangelion wouldn't exist how it was now. Wings of Hommenase was amazing and unusual as it showed how a fool can conquer every one else's expectations of himself and become the first man in space. It was beautifully protrayed and simply amazing. that's all I can really think of right now.
-
I don't hate anime, but I dislike a LOT of it. Why? simply because they aren't very original or full of a lot of depth. Sure you have your wierd and orignal series like NGE but then you have your simple, fun but stupid shows like Fist of the North star or Kenjitsu Zan or something. Sadly one FAR outweighs the other. It seems many series don't put a lot of effort into it or suffer from predictable stories. But there are some true gems that push to border and make you go 'wow'. Look at Vampire Hunter D and VHD: Bloodlust both follow the amazingly dark novels well and keep the complexity of the character. Or the Wings of Hommenase, Roujin Z, Princess Mononoke etc. These are the things that keep me hooked, looking at these things I see that Japanese Animation is much like live-action filmaking as it is a true artform that can capture the imagination and hearts of people rather than just try to make them laugh or decide which super hot chick the geeky kid chooses or something.
-
Wasn't undergrads a flash cartoon first? And BTW. Welling said it himself, if he is cast as the next Supes in the movie (which is still stuck in development hell.) then the show is going to be cancelled. Not that it was that great anyway. It's hard to keep a character like Superman fresh and exhilerating in live action. At least in the comics and the cartoons he can kick some alien *** or explore the psycological aspects of being the worlds second most powerful man. (Batman's cunning and intellegnce make him #1)

AM I the only person who DIDN'T like Reflections? I like the manga ending MUCH better than that POS. I had a lot of problems with it from the get go. Enishi put to animation and the Jinei bout were the only really cool things about it. I liked the series up until the 3rd season, then the whole Shimabara arc, Fung Shuei and Divine Medicine routine got retarded. Yes, the filler episodes were funny but the rest sucked. Trust and Betrayl was my favorite part of the series. You had the ultra cool Battousai, the Shinsengumi Okita that we all know and love. But it had one person who intrigued me and got me to not like Kaoru as much: Tomoe Yukishiro. Tomoe's relationship with Kenshin intrigued me with her character depth and cool Japanese voice (I've never seen it dubbed.) I like her relationship with Kenshin better than Kaoru's and how she seems so cool all the time. Lets not forget it had Hiko Seijuro XIII the coolest character in RK kicking *** (he made a guy EXPLODE).
