*puts on n00b hat again* I was under the impression that items were colour coded in order of how rare they are, but obviously I must be wrong. Like, Des, that bow you sold for 100k...how would you know it was worth that much? I've apparently identified a few rare items and I didn't even know, and I've gone and sold them to merchants for a price much lower than I could have got if I sold them to a player. I've heard lots of people talking on the Alliance channel about checking prices on Wiki, but when I looked I couldn't find anything. I'm so bad at figuring this stuff out for myself. Forgive me. u__u

"Shit, I don't believe this..." Quincy cursed under her breath. Only Kotemon seemed to hear and he glanced up at her indifferently, his shinai resting in the dirt. "I quite agree, unfortunately, we have to do something about it. Don't want to die now, do we?" "Well, I hadn't planned on it..." Quincy stared up at the looming Digimon above the group, squinting against the harsh rays of digital sunlight coming through the trees. "Have at it, I guess. I can't do much." Kotemon nodded and sped forward, launching himself past the other Digimon to bring his shinai down heavily between Devidramon's eyes. Unfortunately, the effect only momentarily dazed the larger Digimon, before he let out a cry and swatted Kotemon aside as if he were an insect. Quincy yelped and sprinted forward, only managing to throw herself to the floor as Kotemon landed, giving him a marginally softer landing than he would have had before. He looked down at the wheezing redhead and scoffed, jumping to his feet again. "See, now, what you just did was very stupid." "You could thank me, you know." Quincy snarled, kneeling up and gasping for much needed air. Her lungs burned and she immediately regretted what she had done. She turned her head to look at her Digimon, only met by those unnerving yellow eyes. "What you did wasn't exactly smart, either." "...Hn." Kotemon stalked off toward Flamon, still keeping an eye on Devidramon as the others attempted weakly to bring him down. "Flamon, we need to do something fast. Unless one of us manages to Digivolve, we're dead. And all is lost." Flamon winced at the harsh truth and looked over his shoulder at Tristan, the young boy standing so bravely despite what he must be feeling. "I'll...see what I can do." OOC: Pooooh, sorry. That sucked. But hopefully moved us along? =D?

I claim itttt~ Mike, I'm going to make you a pretty boy. Ph34r. Edit: Hoods are things of evil, hence the reason why I drew it down. And no, that isn't a 'gansta' gesture gone wrong, that's him telling someone to 'go away'. Next! You can draw my Dragonball Z OC, Imi. (I'm so original with names, I know). I'll attach the file, seeing as it's rather wide. I know the sketches aren't very good, but that's because I've yet to draw her properly. =/ Sorreh. Nothing much you need to know about her, except that this version (the young version) still has her tail. @ GTK: I don't think I ever thanked you for drawing Crucabelle, but she looks amazing! T_T *envy*

I've built a house of cards before, and you know what? It's much more fun smashing it down than it is putting it up. Like the others have said, this was once again a fantastic chapter. I was especially amused by Jamie's line when she said. "Well, you could, but that'd be like me asking you to leave your leg behind. This rifle is a part of me, alright?". Really, that's a lot like me, and I'm amazed you've managed to put us in this situation while keeping to what we're really like. The simple things you add in about characters are really nice. Like Jamie watching cartoons, or Gavin building a house of cards. It shows another side of the character's personality without you diverting from the story itself, and that's clever.

Okay, so, I'm totally behind everyone else (pretty much) so I'm not even going to bother discussing missions. (I'm still stuck in Napui Quarter, boohoo). I do wonder though...I see all these people selling weapons for prices like 30k, 15k etc, and I keep thinking...the most I've ever got up to is about 5k =/ I wonder, am I missing something here or is it just because I'm not very far in the game that my money isn't building up?

I agree with the above ^ You have such a professional way of finishing your pictures I'm amazed that you've never been trained for something like this. I, like the others, adore the way you've made these colours fit together, especially because I'm a huge fan of contrasting and bright colours (which you've...probably figured out, haha). I have one problem: I had to squint to see that 'Pick it up' is what the main textual focus says. I know you wanted to have it so that there were no spaces left, but they seem a little too close together, and blend in with the white of the background. That's really the only problem I have with this piece, and it's pretty minor, because the first thing I think when I look at it is 'Wow, talent.'

I absolutely love the effects on "bloodstain" ... how'd you do it? Brushing?
Yes, layers upon layers of brushing. (And all my own, you'll be pleased to know!) The edge effect was done by using the select tool to make a sort of jagged edge, like ripped paper. Then I smudged it out to make it look a little nicer. The lines were just anti-alias vector lines and the other brushes I used were my fingers prints and some blood splatter I found on Google. I'm so glad you commented. Sakurasuka- Vegeta is amazing, indeed. I did have a problem with the 'Yes, Please!', because I only got as far as planning what I wanted the text to be like. Then I was kind of lost, so I slapped on a pattern and that was it, haha. I'm glad you pointed that out though, I'll try mess around with the banner some more. Thanks so much for the comments~

Hallo, zelda_apostle. This thread is from 2005, which means that the RP is dead. We don't support necromancy here at the OtakuBoards, so if you could please only sign up for RPs on the first page of the Inn, that would be for the best. Also, could I please alert you to the Sticky, so you know what goes on around here. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to PM myself or one of the other Arena mods. Thanks a lot, Ezekiel. You beat me. Shame how art threads are dying these days, isn't it? I can't be arsed to update mine any more, cuz I don't think anyone even looks at it. XD I'm glad I inspire you, and it's nice to see that you're using elements of other artists' work within your own, while still putting in your own style. Personally, I prefer the way you've done your first two Riku banners. In fact, I'm incredibly impressed by them. They look totally professional and expertly finished, plus the colour treatment you've used blends very well. Also, it's a style unique to you, which is very important in my opinion. I'm not too keen on the way your finished the last three banners. They look a little blurry as you've faded them into the grey, which doesn't compliment the sharpness of the stock very well. But the stock has been extracted very well, and again the colours are nice. If I were you, I'd work more along the style of your Riku banners, because they really are very impressive.

Golden Sands Arc One A sun that seemed too heavy for the early morning sky slowly dragged it?s way above the horizon. It?s burning red beams showed all too clearly what was to follow in the following days. The Meram army were already close to Hades to join with their new allies, the Yarou, and their secret weapon the Black Mage. The almighty spirit of destruction that would no doubt wipe the Malroy off the face of this earth with one simple gesture. The Meram in their everlasting arrogance of course assumed that they could control the Black Mage Dimma. They never suspected that he would easily turn against them, if it suited him. The Mage General paced in his office as his troops assembled in the courtyard at the base of his tower, a pinnacle of hope in the desert city of the Malroy people. General Zerstoren was already out in the dunes, his army spread before him as he explained what was most likely to come. They were scared; every one of them, but courage was something the Malroy had in greater amounts than any other race. A little outside the desert city, a woman clad in white robes trekked across the dunes with a blue Chai, her hand resting on it?s smooth feathers. She squinted across the sand to see the city, smiling as she knew her destination was nearer. Far across the desert in the lands of ice and snow, a small cluster of Urla people had assembled, Sergei Sokolov on his Great Bear leading them through the blizzard currently attacking the mountain pass. Garrek Flynt, one of the few soldiers who had volunteered, trekked behind the polar bear, his head down as the wind beat against his cloak. The Urla were brave people, but not stupid. They would only go to fight when and if the Malroy needed them desperately. These few people making the long, hard journey felt like they had made a promise to their allies, and knew that they would do the same. The people of Hades waited, some of the soldiers already banging the war drums, which could no doubt be heard on the surface of the earth. They cheered and howled with joy at the thought of more bloodshed, the image of it staining the sand driving them into a battle frenzy, which the Meram had no doubt been counting on. The sun paced its way gently across the sky, and the world held its breath. As you can see, we?re pretty much all starting in different clusters. I?m glad there?s such a variety of characters, as it makes this first section so much easier on everyone. This first part will be short, a sort of preparation to what is to come. At the end of this, a messenger will come from the Meram/Hades alliance to tell Mordred and Zerstoren of the planned attack, and we?ll pretty much take it from there. Just to make it clear what everyone is doing, here are your ?locations?. Hades- Revelation, Epsilon Urla Mountains- Keyblade Wielder, Blayze, Jokopoko Malroy Desert- Engel, Billy Shears, Eclipse Mages Courtyard- DeathKnight, Sakura, JJ, Ezekiel. Kitty, I hope you don?t mind where I put you. You?re the only Hanka, but you can get into the city pretty quick and meet with Mordred if you like. I know you?re a fantastic writer, so you?ll come up with something. ^_~ Hope that?s clear enough for everyone. If you have any questions/suggestion (or if I?ve made a mistake, gah), please post it in the Underground. Thanks so much for your wonderful sign ups everyone, let?s have some fun.

Name: Quincy Nesbitt Gender: Female Age: 29 Race: Human Alliance: GSD Physical Description: Quincy (also seen here) is a woman who simply exudes sexuality, probably without realising it. She has always preferred a masculine way of dressing, and is usually seen in slacks and a sleeveless white blouse, as well as suspenders (as seen in the picture). She doesn't wear much makeup, except for black mascara, but likes to stick out from the crowd. She never was a girl who wanted to fit in, so her wardrobe is designed to make her look completely different from your average woman. She always wears brown leather gloves and refrains form any accessories, save for her tie (and occasionally cufflinks, with long-sleeve tops). Weapons: Nunchaku- Quincy's favourite weapons. She has a pair of identical nunchaku strapped on either side of her waist. Shinai- Quincy only brings this with her if she knows she'll meet some stronger trouble. She isn't a fan of sharp weapons, due to her erratic fighting style and clumsy nature. Abilities: Quincy is a natural master of the sober-drunken-fist style. At least that's what she claims. In actual fact, she's very good at making things up as she goes along. Despite her many hours of martial arts training, she has never managed to master a style of fighting. Therefore, she puts all her strength into whatever comes to mind. She's very strong, for an average human, and can pack a heavy punch. She's also extremely skilled with her nunchaku, due to her flexible wrists and quick reactions. Personality: Quincy is best described as eccentric. She is highly intelligent, but you probably wouldn?t guess it because of the way she acts around lots of people. She is energetic (read: not hyperactive) and isn?t afraid to speak her mind if someone disagrees with her. Stubbornness is, she believes, a good trait to have when dealing with enhanced humans and Vampires, especially when you?re one of the few average human beings standing alongside them. She is a sarcastic woman who can handle herself very well given any situation, probably due to her capability to adapt after many years of moving around. She doesn?t like to make friends in work, especially because of the kind of work she does, but there are people that she trusts, and that?s something. Biography: Quincy started life in a quiet Scottish village, her parents both enthusiastic architects working from home. The family was always admired for being very close and, despite her parents close working environment, they got wonderfully and never once argued. Her childhood was unremarkable and happy at best, and Quincy was under the peaceful impression that she would grow up, become an architect, and marry a nice man before settling down to have three children. She had it all planned out perfectly, which is why it hurt even more in the end. At the age of 17, Quincy experienced a life changing and heart breaking moment. The area she had lived in her whole life was, on one cold winter night, attacked by a group of rowdy vampires, intent on destroying everything in the tiny village. The girl arrived home from college in Edinburgh to find her house set ablaze, her parents nowhere in sight amongst the small knoll of survivors jabbering and shrieking over the roar of flames. She was lost and it took weeks for her even to begin speaking again, but as soon as she did, it became clear that her hatred for vampires had reached its peak. Now, many would have thought she would join an extremist group seeking the extinction of vampires, but Quincy was a sensible, albeit angry, young woman. She discovered the GSD and found out through various contacts that they only sought the destruction of violent vampires. Perfect. At the age of 19, Quincy began changing herself. She studied martial arts every chance she got and graduated from University with an Honours Degree in Architecture, more in memory to her parents than anything else. She did begin to wonder, however, how she would possibly support herself if her plan to insert herself into the GSD worked out. Finally, throwing caution to the wind, Quincy managed to get herself into the group, and it has only been good things since then. Although she hasn't made many close friends, there are a few that she knows she could depend on with her life. When she isn't doing something Guild orientated, Quincy does free-lance designs, mainly for shopping centres and hotels. She has, somehow, managed to make a name for herself and often talks about dreams of setting up her own firm, dedicating it to her parents. Right now, however, her feet are firmly planted on the ground and all she cares about is eliminating vampires that dare threaten another's existence. Done, yay

I don't have many of these moments any more, thankfully, but I do have brainfarts occasionally, which cause me to say things like, "Did you know...if the clouds weren't there, the sky would be clear?" My friend Natalie is very blonde, and has said some fantastic things. Like "I can't spell the alphabet." and "Ow! My phone." after hitting it on a desk. She also amused our whole maths class when someone asked where the two had gone (as in: why is it not in the equation any more?) and Natalie pointed to the board, at a two, and goes "It's right there..." She's a very clever girl, just a bit silly. >> @ Gavin: Vegeta banners, snap!

Name: Mordred Sársauki Age: 32 Gender: Male Race: Malroy Occupation: Mage, also strategy specialist. Position: Mage General Weapon: A rather unimpressive (yet ancient) jug. Spells: All of Mordred?s spells use his jug as a catalyst. The jug itself is completely covered in magical runes that illuminate when he casts one of his spells. They respond to his voice, and thus, the right enchantment must be uttered for the spells to be carried out correctly. Contain [ Archi Contai ]- A spell that can trap surrounding energy or, if Mordred so wishes, people. He usually uses this to replenish his energy stores, as most of his spells take a great deal out of his frail body. Mages could deflect the containment spell, but soldiers could easily be absorbed into the jug and used as energy. Dispel [ Archi Parre ]- A simple deflection spell that creates a field of energy around the General. This spell can deflect physical attacks and most spells. Destroy [ Archi Unlea Finalti ]- The very spell that Mordred used to eliminate the Meram army. It takes a lot out of him, but unleashes such a huge amount of energy that anything in its path will be ripped apart. This, of course, means that any of his allies in the immediate area will also perish, which is the main reason why Mordred has only ever used this once, and doesn?t plan on using it again. It?s because of him using this spell against the Meram that he is now weaker than before. Appearance: Here, Here and Here The armour on his torso is what Mordred wears as his uniform, as well as purple silk pants covered by golden armour around his waist. A piece of white chiffon is also wrapped around his waist and hangs down to his ankles, which are clad in golden lace-up sandals. When he isn?t in uniform, he wears a simple, dark purple robe and a white neck scarf. Personality: Mordred is almost the polar opposite to his older brother. Despite their shared features, the younger Mordred is a man who tries to be pleasant and warm even if he?d much rather be alone. He?ll never turn someone down if they want company or advice, and he tries his best to get out into the public. He believes that an army is only as strong as the faith it?s country has in them, which is why he encourages his fellow soldiers to help in any way they can. He?s a very modest man and even though he?s been given the highest position possible, he still refuses to count himself above anyone else. He usually jokes by saying ?I was given this position simply because someone needed to do it.? When in battle, however, Mordred?s darker traits tend to show. While he still keeps a calm demeanour, his orders will get sharper and his determination fires up considerably. He is most certainly not a good loser, possibly because his brother was always a few steps ahead of him. Excerpt of Character: Mordred slumped back in his high backed chair, a glass of port wine clasped gently in one hand, his fingers barely touching the glass. It had been one year since so many men had died at his hands?these weak hands. He supposed it was the gods paying him back for all that blood spilt, but even now he found it hard to get over the strain that had been put on his body. He coughed softly and opened his red-rimmed eyes, the dusty makeup now smudged from tears and sleep. He hated being like this and yet some part of him said he had a duty to uphold. He knew the Meram would do something. Those proud bastards wouldn?t rest until every Malroy mage was dead at their feet. And today of all days would be the perfect opportunity to start another war. The mage stood and gazed out of his window, the view was spectacular from up here in his tower and as the cool morning air ran soft fingers over his skin he felt calmer. Dimma was out there somewhere. No doubt causing pain and destruction. He imagined that his brother would soon be coming after him, as well, the only one standing in the way of ultimate power. Mordred was pulled from his thoughts by a knock on his door. He turned and smiled as Crow walked in, the Girl a little behind him. ?I have something I wish to discuss with you?? Crow nodded and sat on one of the large couches in Mordred?s office, the Girl climbing up to sit next to him. ?You seem worried, General.? Mordred waved his hand as he sat down, as if to dismiss what Crow had just said, ?There?s no need to be so formal, friend. Would you like some wine?? Crow shook his head and rested his elbows on his knees, leaning forward to look at Mordred closer, obviously studying his face. ?Don?t look at me that way, Crow,? Mordred laughed, before coughing into his fist, ?I?m simply?thinking. It?s the anniversary today.? ?I know?I was wondering if you?d suspect something, too.? Mordred nodded and rested back again. He closed his eyes and pulled in a deep breath, not opening his eyes again when he started to speak. ?Crow, I?m a weak man. If the Meram come again soon they?ll want my head and they?ll have more support?? ?Your brother?? Crow asked, his voice not betraying the worry that was building. ?Yes, possibly my brother. I?I?m not sure I can live through another battle, so I wanted you to know. If I do die out there in the dessert, you will take over from me. And I won?t take no for an answer.? Crow stared for a moment before leaning back, the Girl looking up at him expectantly. ?You won?t die,? he said, softly, ?None of us will.? Seeing as a lot of people haven?t finished their sign ups, and I know Billy and JJ can?t post until after the weekend, I?m actually going to start this next week. I?d very much like to accept all of you, so if you could please finish your sign ups that would be great. I can?t believe how many good writers this has turned out. Oh, Rev, I hope it was okay for me to make Dimma Mordred?s brother. Thought it would add some drama, ooh.

Arg, no, I put my face on that site! Why did you have to remind everyone of it? >< Though I must admit, it is fun to see where everyone is. Yes, even still.
-
I imagine I'll be starting it up soon enough. Probably tomorrow, if I can get my head around all these fantastic sign ups (and do my own, gurgle). Just to let everyone know: This roleplay will be using a semi-chapter system to begin with, because we have characters that are pretty far out from other, location wise. Everyone will still post at the same time, some people will just have different objectives than others. Hope that's all right with everyone.

Kotemon wasn't amused. He had been under the impression that his Digidestined, his charge, would at least be competent. Granted, the girl hadn't screamed or flailed about when she woke up, but she wasn't exactly throwing herself into this situation either. She was, in fact, stumbling along awkwardly through masses of damp undergrowth. "Girl, are you going to waddle about like a one-legged Biyomon all day or will you actually keep up?" Quincy had no idea what a 'Biyomon' was, but she was pretty sure the midget Kendo man had just insulted her. "Listen here, squirt. I've been taken form my home and thrown into an odd, funny-smelling world where a pushy....thing is giving me orders. I think I'm doing pretty well, thank you very much, and I'd very much appreciate it if you shut the hell up." Kotemon stopped and turned slowly, his sword resting over his shoulder. He gave Quincy a look that made her screw up her face in an expression of defiance and he simply couldn't help but let out a short bark of a laugh. The redhead looked taken aback, but slowly began to smile herself. Finally the ice had been broken, and Quincy somehow found it easier to pick her way through the bushes and vines. "You should look at your Digivice (that's the thing on your belt), so that we can see where the others are." "Other Digidestined?" Quincy asked, stooping to hear Kotemon a little better. "Exactly. You're catching on, Samson." Ten minutes passed before Quincy saw a blip of colour on the screen of her Digivice. This was accompanied by the distant sound of voices, one male and one female, by the sounds of it. She looked down at Kotemon and he nodded, using his sword to point a way through the trees toward where the other people must be. Quincy walked ahead of him for the first time, and stepped into a brilliantly lit clearing where the boy and girl were stood. She raised a hand in greeting and smiled, "Hi there." OOC Hope that's okay Will, Mary.

Phil, you always make me so badass. It's totally awesome~ I really love your writing style because you don't mess around with fancy words or drawn out sentences, you just get straight to the point. Even though you haven't described much I've been able to form a clear image of the characters in my head, which I think is a very talented thing to be able to do. I've always found that you're very good with bringing out people's personality in the dialogue. I have absolutely no criticism of this whatsoever, so please do go on. ^_~

Quite Possibly The Most Useless Piece Of Legislation, 2006
Ezekiel replied to Morpheus's topic in General Discussion
My school has banned Google. Yup. Along with the OtakuBoards, personal e-mail accounts and a host of other things. We have to go to google.ca to get anything (yay, Canadians!). As other people have said, this is pretty useless and a waste of time, so I'm not going into that, but I just thought I'd give an example of what happens in my school: My friend used the Image search on Yahoo. com, because that's the only one that works properly. We're Graphic students, so we need images to work with. She typed in 'Angel', and what comes up? Porn. So....why isn't that banned? I agree when people say that staff should just do their damn job and monitor the systems that are being used. -
My mum is definitely the most important person in my life. She has to play the role of mother and father, because most of the time my dad isn't here. (They are divorced and he lives overseas with his new wife.) I can tell my mum anything and even though she can be a bit snappish at times I know she's only like that because she's trying to keep me safe. My dad is very important to me; too, I just don't feel that close to him any more. Trevor is also an extremely important person to me. I haven't spoken to him much this last month due to...hmm...complications, but I always think about him and I know if I needed comforting I could just pick up the phone and he'd make me feel better. It may sound a little heartless, but my friends aren't that important to me. I wouldn't die (or even injure myself) for them. I haven't made very close friends in my time in school so far, but they have been huge factors in my life. My friend Joe, for example, is a complete prat, but because of the awful way he treated me for a couple of years I made myself a more confident and stronger person. I can at least thank him for that.

Hope you like 'em. That would be great.
