Sumiyaka sat up in bed, flipping through the pages of an old book, written in Latin. She'd watched its author write it and the memory made her smile a little. She had long ago grown used to the idea that those she cared for would move on without her, which was why, in the last hundred years, she'd made an effort to not hang around humans as casually as she used to. Helios was her closest friend now and she drew comfort in the fact that he wouldn't be taken away from her any time soon. Eventually she set down her book and considered what she would be taking with her on the trip with Lord Orlok. He was a man she respected and she wished to leave a good impression upon him if they were to travel together for a long time, as the journey would take a good while. She hoped that Kuroichi was civil, despite his violent tendencies. She'd have to stress the fact to Orlok that she did not wish to go as an enemy, but merely as an inquiring mind. She eventually settled down under the covers and put out the candle she had been reading by. Gwyar Castle hadn?t exactly moved with the times as humanity passed into the age of electricity. It was then Sumiyaka realised, with some amusement, that she would once again be travelling into a much wider and more diverse civilisation than what she was used to. Tokyo, as far as she knew, was alive as a city and Sumiyaka was very much looking forward to going there. Maybe Kuroichi would even show her around? She doubted it. *** The evening was Sumiyaka?s time to wake up, when the deathly sun had finally dropped behind clouds in the horizon. She sat up groggily and swung her pale legs out of bed before she stood, stepping into slippers and putting on a silk robe. She wasn?t someone who woke easily and the Gwyar vampires were used to seeing her in a nightgown long after the rest of them had been awake. She trudged down to the Library, deciding that packing could be done tomorrow. Today she would catch up with Helios and no one would tell her otherwise. He knew she stayed in the library most days, so he?d find her eventually. The blue-haired vampiress yawned softly as she sat herself down at a table, a book she?d been picking through recently laying undisturbed on the table before her. She scanned the pages again, waiting patiently until Helios paid her a visit.

Kuja screwed his face up as he listened to the instructions of the game. It seemed rather, well, simple to him. He blinked as the team set off and followed suit, keeping an eye out for any nasty monsters that, more than likely, would try to eat his face. He tiptoed over certain paths that didn't look all that steady and jumped a couple of steps to reach a higher level on the 'course'. It was then that he spotted it and gasped excitedly. A mushroom~! He made an effort not to look enthralled as he made his way over, hoping that others hadn't noticed the little fungus as he'd squealed. As he got closer he squinted in concentration, summing up his odds of catching this thing if it, say, decided to move. He finally pounced and landed painfully on his hip, but the little mushroom was caught firmly in his hands. It was to his dismay that he realised it wasn't, in fact, moving. But it was making a rather strange noise. Oh dear me, no, that was his bones... Suddenly he popped in a cloud of pinkish gas and was at least a foot taller than he had been before. He smiled giddily and placed the mushroom into a hip bag on his left side and patted it, strolling off in search of more mushrooms.

Name: Quincy Nesbitt Age:18 Gender: Male Appearance: Quincy stands at 5?10??, has beautiful, light, strawberry blonde hair and electric blue eyes. His voice is undoubtedly British and Quincy is often referred to as a ?poofter? by certain unsavoury Australian boys. He seems to be constantly frowning with his serious attitude, but despite his mean looks, he tries to keep himself preened and looking as good as possible. Not that he?s trying to impress anyone, of course. (Please refer to attachment?Props go to Lucifer-Cry at deviantart: http://lucifer-cry.deviantart.com/ ) Personality: Quincy is the quiet, serious type, plain and simple. He doesn?t like crowds and he doesn?t like people?well, not many. He prefers to keep to himself and is more than happy to spend his Friday night studying or watching a TV show about some dead civilisation. That, to Quincy, is heaven. He doesn?t exactly enjoy school, but he puts up with it. He never feels as if it?s teaching him anything new except that humanity is, indeed, going down the pan. He doesn?t have people to call friends, but when he does interact he keeps his answers short and sharp. He has a cold and mysterious exterior, which, much to his disappointment, seems to attract a certain kind of woman. Short Bio: Quincy was born in London, England, specifically Hertfordshire, and was raised by both his parents in a loving environment. Actually, he was pretty much a happy kid when he was in England, but was more than a little miffed when his parents decided to uproot him and move to Australia, where they wanted to start a tour boat business, taking tourists around the Great Barrier Reef, and the like. Because of this Quincy?s parents are often away from home and leave him alone in the house, knowing full well he can look after himself. This doesn?t make him very happy. He was, and always has been, a top student who flies through every subject without even seeming to try. The truth is, he doesn?t make friends easily, so instead of going out and socialising will sit inside with his books. The fact never bothered his parents seeing as their son was deemed to be a boy genius. It did however worry certain teachers who Quincy was more open too, namely his English teacher, who had taken interest in the boy as soon as she started teaching him. So now Quincy has lost what little friends he?s made and the one person who was actually trying to get him out more. He is, in his opinion, beyond saving and simply wishes to graduate and move on. The Crush List: Quincy seems to be taking an interest in 'B' of late, but he's too proud to admit it to anyone, least of all, himself.

5. Yes, psychology at 14. I have already saved several people online from killing themselves and I've helped some people with relationship problems.
That's not psychology, that's psychiatry. Psychology is understanding people?s actions/behaviour/thinking process'. Psychiatry is counselling people, helping them through problems, etc. Even then, saying you're 'in training', as you put it, would be a push. You're simply good at giving advice. With regards to this thread: About two years ago I was in a relationship with another girl, and even at that time I knew I didn't want it to last. (I know that sounds awful, but whatever). I didn't love her, but I felt attracted to her and I enjoyed the physical side of our relationship. We didn't go far at all, nothing extremely sexual at all, just to clear that up. After a few months I told her it was just a phase, and I wanted to go back to being friends. I've never really found 'real women' attractive. Like, when I walk down the street, I won't see a woman and think she's hot, but I would if I saw a nice looking guy. I know for a fact, after 'experimenting', that I couldn't have a relationship with a woman, even if I wasn't already in a very happy, loving relationship. As for advice-Honestly, I can't imagine why you should really be bothered as what to class yourself. If only called myself a lesbian when I was with another girl, and when we broke it off, I was straight again because I realised I wasn't attracted t women. If you end up with a guy, you know what to call yourself. But if you aren't even with anyone, I can't see why it matters.

Sumiyaka paced the library quietly, her lantern held high as she ran one elegant finger over the spines of the many ancient books. She was looking for one in particular, but doubted it would be in the library. The information wasn't exactly something that should be known to lesser vampires. She was in the main castle of the Gwyar in Russia. Not many of the clan stayed here as most of them had their own castles, but seeing as Sumiyaka had no family to speak of, she opted to stay here and keep it safe, so to speak. The real reason is because she wanted to be with her books. She bit her bottom lip gently as she crouched low to look at books on the bottom shelf. The titles were all in ancient languages, but after 1700 years of immortality, Sumiyaka had enough free time to learn the vast majority of languages, mostly ancient, as modern language didn't hold any appeal to her. Eventually she gave up and sighed, walking back out of the large library into the main corridor of the castle. It was beautiful, this place. So ornately decorated and kept to perfection throughout it's many years. She smiled a little and pushed her glasses up her nose, extinguishing her lantern as she climbed the stairs, dimply lit by smaller torches spaced along the strong walls. She knew she'd have to leave soon enough. Tomorrow she would meet with the elder Lords to request permission to leave the castle and find Kuroichi. She wasn't on a mission to kill him, so far as she was concerned he was a child with a bad temper, and Sumiyaka was merely interested in talking to him. Of course she'd need an escort, but that's something her superiors would sort out. Until then, it was time for her to read, rest and look forward to the next day. OOC-I?m referring to her as Sumiyaka, it would be great if Justice and Mugen could call her Beth/Elizabeth (unless she?s in public, of course) Seeing as her clan members refer to her as such, unless she?s travelling under her alias of Lady Sumiyaka.

Era would most certainly have given Sakura her gun back, she isn't too fond of weapons like that anyway, being a witch and all. I have a quesiton: Takuya didn't mention the little girl we saved in his last post, so I'm wondering if we took her with us or left her on the island, unconscious and alone.

Does anyone know why TV adverts for insurance companies are, without exception, a lethal sandwich of ham (acting) and cheese (scripting)?
No, but I find them very amusing. You may have noticed a few were people who went through 'horrific accidents' are actually smiling as they recount them. Doesn't seem very real to me. Anyway, my question: Why is it that girls/boys beat up/annoy the ones they have a crush on? I have my own theories (as I've done it myself), I'd just like to see what other people think.

Kuja didn't seem at all fazed after the Team Council; he was, after all, a villain. There was nothing his pretty exterior could do about that. However, this had been the first time in his existence that people hadn't really hated him...he let a brief smile cross his lips before he parted from the rest of the group with a wave. He decided a shower was in order and started to investigate his bathroom, happy to find it was large and spacious, with many ornate and pretty shiny things to keep him occupied. Yes, this was lovely. Not quite as big as home, but lovely. He dropped his clothes in a neat pile by the floor and stepped into the flowing water; happy he was able to relax now he'd passed over the first hurdle. After a long and thoughtful shower Kuja stepped back into his bedroom, rubbing his hair with a towel to get it back to gleaming perfection. He threw on his outfit; where it used to be purple it was now green, camouflage, you see, it was all the rage. He smiled and looked out of a one of the large dome like windows in his room, peering over the beautiful water below. He liked looking at water, but he didn't like being in it. His tail curled a little at the thought of swimming and the young man backed away, instead deciding on taking a well-deserved nap.

Unfortunately, the link takes me through to a wallpaper site that as far as I can see has no picture of Mugen I should obviously be using. If you could attach the image to your post or PM it to me that would be better. That, or I could just find an image and use it instead? Would love to do this for you, I just want to get it right. =) Edit: Banner: Avatar: I don't really like the avi...if you want, I'll change it tomorrow. Apart from that-Enjoy!

Kuja had suddenly gone very still after about six Lemmings had 'affectionately' jumped on him. Link seemed to be the only one who had noticed, and as he batted the creatures away with the hilt of his Master Sword, he watched the slowly reddening young man in the centre of a platform with confusion. "I think something?s wrong with Kuja." he said calmly as he caught a Lemming attempting to hurl itself into his face. Yuna looked over, noting with slight horror, that Kuja was no longer standing. He was floating, to be precise, and due to a Lemming attempting to chew off his nose, it was impossible to see his expression. However, Mario suddenly spasmed with a high screech and yelled "Mama-mia! Ee'sa giving off evil like-a nothing I've-a seen before-a!" with that, the plumber hurled himself to the ground, casually ignoring the unfortunate Lemming that was the current occupant of that space. Riku had also sensed the ominous dark aura, and Sora went pale at seeing the manic grin on his rival's face. "This should be interesting..." the silver-haired teen muttered as Kuja's fists clenched and what could only be described as a 'rumbling growl' came from his usually rosy lips. And then, in a matter of seconds, the platform Kuja had been standing on exploded. Or, more precisely, Kuja himself seemed to explode, sending a rain of Lemming's into the pits of spiky-hurting-doom below. As soon as the explosion faded, Kuja stood, no, floated, in front of the rest of his team. He flexed his fingers as flames swirled around him. Riku stood with his mouth open at the sight of a red and silver half monkey before him. Kuja was in Trance, and like this, he was a different man. "Kuja...you do realise you just destroyed a good number of Lemmings, don't you?" Yuna stepped forward, obviously undeterred by the sight before her. "Yes, well...I'd had enough." Kuja mumbled "And they wanted to die...I'm being nice." he finished lamely. Yuna's shoulders sagged and she sighed, noting, with some amusement, that the remaining Lemming?s were frozen in fear, quivering slightly as they stared at Kuja. The man/monkey/drag-queen extraordinaire landed gracefully and swept up some whimpering Lemmings almost lovingly, as if he was trying to make up for the damage. "Sorry, I tend to loose my temper...Trance isn't something that can be controlled, you know." he pouted a little, trying to shift the blame from destroying not only a large amount of Lemmings, but the arena the team were in, too. "Can we just...stay focussed?" Yuna asked politely, shoving a comatose Lemming over with her boot. Meanwhile, Squishy burped, and a green hairball fell at Riku's feet.
But it's okay, because Imi and ULX's posts cracked me up. So, hopefully together, we'll win. ^_^
Well, with Kuja it's hard not to be funny in a situation like this. =p Hopefully we'll win this one, even though we don't have Solo T_T *determined face!*

Kuja squealed as the Lemmings grabbed a hold of his hair. For the last five minutes he'd been running around in circles, trying to shake the buggers off as they dribbled and chewed his gorgeous silver locks. "Kuja! They're attracted to your hair, stand still man!" Riku yelled from the edge of a lava pit, trying to kick Lemmings away to prevent them from hurling themselves into the fiery pit below. "Stand still while they chew my hair?! Sod that!" By now, most of the lemmings who had died where due to Kuja throwing them off the edge of their platform. Or stamping on them. Repeatedly. "Kuja, please, you want to win, don't you?" Yuna begged as she fired off a couple of rounds, causing two nearby Lemmings to wet themselves as their lives flashed before them. "Well yes, but-ow!" the pretty young man yelped as a Lemming attached itself to his scalp, thick drool sliming up his left temple. The poor man looked as if he himself was ready to be flung into a pit of spiky-hurting-doom. Meanwhile the rest of the team struggled on. Sora had, by now, been swamped down by Lemmings, most of them trying to climb over the boy to reach some other form of horrible death. The brunette managed to drag himself forward far enough to grab hold of the creatures while Riku formed a blockade, stamping his feet and aiming kicks at any unfortunate critter that tried to kill itself. Mario was running around a little helplessly, the Lemmings seeming to have fun as the chubby plumber yelled insults at them in his mother tongue, the heat and exercise doing him no good in his thick overalls and large hat. "Ita! Ita!" Kuja squealed as he skipped past Yuna, two Lemmings holding onto his distinctly feminine legs as he tried to escape. "It hurts! Gerroff-oof!" he promptly crashed into Riku, who nearly fell into the pit of spiky-hurting-doom, and in saving himself, threw Kuja to the floor, which in turn caused the older man to crush a Lemming. Yuna meanwhile surveyed the damage. She brought a hand up to her head and sighed deeply. She was starting to understand the Lemmings attraction to violent death.

i then tought about seppuku for about a week but then i realised whenever i saw her i couldent brethe correctly. i want home the night i found out and my chest hurt soo badly. me and her are still friends and we talk all lunch.but she has a bf guess ill have to wait.
Christ, I hope you're joking about that seppuku part. Because, you know, one you need to be a samurai and two you need another person to cut your head off once you've opened up your stomach. Can't see you finding someone to do that if you ask me o.O My first serious crush, I do believe, was a guy named Gareth Cawood. I liked him when I was about, er, 8 I think it was, when I lived in South Africa. I liked him for two years and despite the fact he and the whole year knew I liked him, I never told him personally. Shame, that, we could have been good together. I've gone through a lot of relationships (long ones) where I've thought I was in love, but was sadly mistaken. This ones for keeps, though. Alan wanted me to say this: "My first crush was Alan. His dashing good lucks, incredible personality and massive penis made me pine. He was taken though, so I traded down for Trev. :3" *rolls eyes* The silly boy.

Era?s mind was on fire. She wanted to scream, but found she could do nothing. It was the most horrifying experience she?d ever had, and for once she couldn?t figure out how to stop it. All she could see around her was total black. She knew she was standing, but wasn?t sure exactly how. There was no floor, but she wasn?t falling. It seemed as though her mind had tapped into something a lot more powerful. Suddenly she was wrenched forward in time to what seemed like modern day England. She could ?see? the little girl who?d been in the tube. Era figured this was her memory she was looking into. Suddenly, she felt something on her hand. She looked down, and the small girl was looking up at her, little fingers holding onto Era?s. You?re a witch? The voice was in Era?s mind and she winced, nodding in reply to the girl?s statement. These are my memories. I imagined they would be. The girl paused before she started walking, seemingly leading Era. The witch could tell they had passed into some hazy world, one she didn?t recognise. The future or an unclear memory? She couldn?t be too sure. Where are you taking me? You need to see?I am a key. I was used in the Wizard?s experiments. I?m a psychic, just like you. Era chose to remain silent for the rest of the journey through the girl?s memories. She could no longer feel her body and wasn?t aware of what was happening on the island. In fact, it seemed to have been wiped from her memory. Everything had, she was starting with a clean slate. The man you were fighting, who killed himself, he was merely a puppet. Era nodded. She had understood this just before he died, Your team-mates are fighting the real threat. However, it is unfortunate that he is merely a decoy. Are started and tugged her hand out of the little girl?s grasp A decoy? The girl looked up sadly and continued with her explanation. There is another threat in your timeline, I?m not sure where, and this mission was merely a distraction to take you from the rest of the Legionnaires. Without you, they cannot go back in time to fight the real threat. Era was in shock. She was not the most powerful Legionnaire and she certainly wasn?t the most well known. How someone powerful enough had managed to formulate such a precise plan was terrifying and Era?s already weakened mind fought to come up with a solution. Why were you on the island, child? Era asked suddenly, her composure returning momentarily. I am from the future. I have the same powers as you, and quite possibly, I?m more powerful, because I have my sight. My power was used so that the Wizard didn?t drain himself. Era paused and bit her bottom lip, squeezing the girl?s hand. I am your daughter I see. Do not think of me as such. This moment will be wiped from your memory as soon as you regain consciousness. You will only remember what you need. And in a second, Era was back on the island, lying on wet grass with Arachnid looking over her, a worried expression on his face. ?Era? You awake?? ?Arachnid?we must get back. This?it was a decoy.? And with that, the Time Witch slipped back in unconsciousness. OOC: Era?s just a little tired, so feel free to wake her up, Sakura. About the little girl being Era?s daughter?I didn?t have much to go on, and I thought it would make sense that the little girl had been used to do all the psychic business? (And I?m a sucker for plot twists.) Hope it?s okay. x.o Boss, I know you?d said about the Wizards memories too. I hope it?s okay I only used the girl?s.

I was never in said RPG... Anyway, I think these internet relationships are cool, Imi, good luck with that. I just can't imagine what it will be like... do you guys know what eacht other look like?
Oh, that's funny. I seem to remember you sending me a PM with your sign-up. Must have been thinking of someone else. So, yeah...I haven't ever heard of you. What a shame. And of course we know what each other look like. There are webcams, photos. I have an album of ULXs pictures and am at this moment in time on webcam to him. Also, we talk on the phone quite a lot. Having an online relationship doesn't mean that everything is hidden. ULX knows more about me than anyone else does, and I mean that. (I also agree with René in...well, everything he said.)

I have a suggestion, which was actually semi inspired by you, Sandy. I felt like drawing something silly today and did a little sketch in PSP of Kuja trying to play with Riku's hair. This got me thinking. We have lots of people who want graphics for banners and I'm sure there are a few people who would like to do some other artistic type things with the story. So why not an art thread, like the one you started for the Legionnaires? Graphic artists could make banner sets for the character if the players want to use them, and random people like me could share silly little doodles. It could be nice? Just a thought. =)
Green's going to be my new favourite colour soon, I think. I have no problems with whatever the ship is called, but I'd call it "Far" because I can't spell that one word you want to use, properly. xP Sorry about the OOC-ness, Sandy, my excuse is the same as Sakura's. Force of habit. I have a question, too, similar to KKCs. From watching the show, teams had to come up with their own food etc or they won it. Considering we aren't allowed to actually leave the Airship, we can't exactly hunt. So, do we already have food stores or what? Could you give us the situation, plzktnx.

By the way, ThoraxtheImpaler even though I haven't been here too long, I remember you as That One Odd Dude in one RPG I was in. Just thought I'd point that out.
Yup, same here. You were in my first (only?) successful RPG, 'The Things We Do For Love'. Anyway. I never exactly went looking for a relationship online, ULX and I have known each other for well over a year now and over that time we've found that we have so much common ground and feelings just naturally grew. *shrugs* My mum has great faith in the relationship (as silly as that may sound to some of you), which is why my Christmas present this year is to go to Seattle and stay with ULX for two weeks. It's a test, ne? Stranger things have happened. ^_~ *sends ULX love points for being such a sweetie*

Kuja sighed and stared at his perfectly manicured hands absently as the team mumbled to themselves as the clue was given out. All three teams seemed to huddle in separate parts of the CPU as they looked over their letters. Kuja decided that his teammates clearly didn't seem to like his outrageous appearance very much, and sulkily sat down on the edge of the group and drew the letters in the dust on the floor. He sat and puzzled over them for a very long time and, to the team's dismay, gradually the others teams shouted out their destinations. Everyone's heart seemed to drop to the floor as CJ announced they had discovered their camp's location. The Legends had lost, but they still had to discover where they were going. It was after what seemed like and eternity that Kuja spoke up. "Um, I think I may have found something," he smiled hopefully as everyone turned to look at him. The boy from before scowled and rolled his eyes as Kuja stood, gesturing to the feminine scrawl on the floor. "Airship." he stated firmly, "They're rather popular where I come from, now I think about it." Everyone?s faces lit up and Kuja was happy to receive congratulations from the team. It seemed he would be useful after all. After a suitably shorter amount of time the girl named Yuna's head shot up, she beamed at her team and announced, "Arcadian!" Kuja blinked and repeated what their final destination would be "Arcadian Airship? Sounds all right to me. Suitably...Legendary, ne?" he giggled softly and was met by amused nods. "Alright then, I guess we should tell our furry host?" Yuna and Kuja crossed to where Mog was and told him their guess, Arcadian Airship, and waited for his reply. OOC- Sandy, there is no way in all of hell that I would have got that if you hadn't given me the best clue in the world. As to why I chose Sakura's character to give the final piece of the puzzle--we were both slaving over homemade Scrabble tiles in an attempt to get this one. She deserves it. x.o (Damn, I have a headache now)

OOC-Honestly, I have absolutely no idea what I'm supposed to post. So...yeah, sorry. >> Gardevoir was alerted, rather shockingly, of a disturbance early in the morning as he drifted through the settling mist of dawn. His eyes grew wide as the psychic message, obviously being channelled through any Pokemon in the area, swept through his brain. It was alarming, to say the least, that he had just been informed of horrific events at Navel Island. The elegant Pokemon lifted one hand to his face and sighed, rubbing the side of his head. It was obvious he?d be needed, a Pokemon with psychic powers as strong as his always would be in these kinds of situations, even if it were only to act as a translator. Best to stay on the fence in these matters, he decided. That way you made sure you didn't wind up dead. He continued to drift gradually out of his clearing and into the denser part of the forest. He knew the guardians must be gathering now, and for a short moment considered sending something onto them. But there was no need for that. He was neither good nor evil in the Pokemon world, and wanted it to stay that way. With this in mind he floated our to the edge of the forest, intent on staying hidden for as long as possible until he could make his way to Navel Island, or find a guardian along the way. Once he was out of his forest, people considered him to be a wild Pokemon. When left by himself, he was a target, and getting caught wasn't in his best interest.

I've decided to change Sumiyaka a wee bit, to make her stronger as a character. I apologise for sucking in the last three RPs, seeing as I posted a grand total of something like 6 times. She also has a tendency to carry some smoke bombs in her pocket, just in case she can't fire off a blast of energy fast enough. Powers: Beth's forte is Chi manipulation. She is a relatively good sorceress and has dabbled in shadow control, but is still trying to master it and won't use it in battle for fear of it failing. Her main techniques are a barrier, which can block almost any attack, physical or magical, and a sort of power surge, where Sumiyaka builds her Chi up to maximum level before releasing it all in one powerful blast. This drains her greatly, but the more she practices, the better she's able to control it. She can also form Chi in her hands to fire off balls of energy. (More about her power in her bio.) Her ace, if you could call it that, is her ability to tap into the element of wind. While she doesn't use it as a power, she can carry messages with it and it in turn informs her of something happening in the world at any time. It's rumoured that Beth can use the wind to transport her from place to place, but so far she's denied it from any who ask. Personality: Beth is a very passive vampire, despite the fact she is a very capable warrior. She claims, to those who do not know her, that her hate of war and bloodshed comes from being alive for so long. 1700 years of immortality will tend to get boring after a little while. Beth has seen too many deaths, too many wars and too much blood to have any like of it whatsoever. She?s one of the rare breed of vampires who is very fond of humans, and it's because of this that she won't drink their blood. She drinks animal blood, or human blood that has been kept in stores. Her clan originally found this shameful, but Beth tries to keep it a secret so as not to embarrass her superiors. As a person, Beth is very easy going, very kind and very knowledgeable. She has amazing knowledge, seeing as she's spent most of her years reading ancient texts, and is more interested in learning rather than fighting. If pushed, Beth can turn nasty, but will try to talk her adversary out of a fight for as long as she possibly can. Beth?s only flaw is that she holds a grudge very, very well, and has an excellent memory to boot. Bio: A young child, surrounded by wind-fuelled flames, wailed into the night as she gathered her bloody, dirty knees to her face. She buried her face in the gap between her legs and sobbed, her sooty face smeared with tears, blood and dirt. her whole village was alight, a group of men on horseback having travelled through, raping, destroying and killing. This was England. This was 505 AD. This was the Dark Ages. England was torn apart after the Roman's had left, and group of barbaric men travelled through villages, intent on becoming rich and getting their pleasure. Beth had been the only survivor from the pitiful amount of people in her tiny village. She had been tiny enough to crawl into a grain jar when the men had come through only crawling out hours after they had left. Now she sat where her home used to be, the blackened bodies of her family strewn across the floor. She was only a child and as the night drew on she was rapidly losing her health. It was only by chance that a man, if you could call him that, had seen the rising pillars of smoke. His horse trotted over the smoking debris until he saw the body. He had compassion in him and had been heartbroken at finding the ruin England was in. After all, he'd travelled all the way from Russia to get here. The young girl coughed weakly as smoke filled her lungs and only barely managed to open her eyes as strong eyes scooped her up. "My dear child..." she heard the mutter, a strange accent thick on the words. Strange, yet elegant. The truth of the matter was this was the vampire Le Stat. He saved the girl from certain death by drinking her blood and she in turn drank his to bring some sort of life back into her pale limbs. This was the forging of a close relationship, and over the next 16 years, that young girl grew to be strong and intelligent. he never claimed her as his daughter, but they shared blood, and it was just as good. Beth did not have long to settle into the ways of a vampire. When Le Stat brought her back the elders insisted that she was trained to be strong, especially since she shared a bond with on e of the most well-known and respected vampires f the age. Unfortunately, something went wrong. Beth?s body couldn't handle the changes and what occurred was a short circuit in her brain. She tapped into her Chi but couldn't control it, and it almost destroyed her. She was found one day in the training hall, her skin ripped by cuts and scrapes, purely from the energy her body hadn't been able to contain. It was because of this she gained the tattoos on her arms. They are, in actual fact, seals on her power. Le Stat insisted they be implemented, with a little twist thrown in. The seals are released when soaked in the blood of a vampire. This is some sort of last-chance device. The theory is, if Beth is backed into a corner, she will untie the ribbons that cover her arms and let herself be drenched in the blood of her enemy. The power that will be released is unimaginable and the unfortunate soul on Beth's wrong side would be, quite literally, ripped to shreds. The only hitch is that Beth would be, too. She keeps some seals visible so that if they are covered in blood, she will merely gain a power boost, not nearly enough to destroy an enemy in one go. The Gwyar have kept their little anomaly under tight security and whenever Beth wishes to travel she in accompanied by an escort under the alias of Lady Sumiyaka of the Gwyar. She has known about Kuroichi ever since the start of his campaign and has become a little fascinated by this 'young man'. She is currently planning the best way to approach her elders so that she may go on a search for Kuroichi as a representative of her clan. Writing Sample: (From Skulls and Crosses) Sumiyaka closed her eyes and leant her head back against the soft goose down pillow. She sighed as she felt the winds whip around the ship, smiling at the raw power they held but did not unleash upon those with a pure enough soul. The vampiress silently wished that Kuroichi's ship were being battered by the storm; maybe he had even been thrown over board. She shook her head, knowing that he was far to powerful to be beaten down by the elements, she laughed at how pathetic that sounded, a mere monster was more powerful than the earth and sky itself. Pathetic. Of course, it was that thought that brought Sumiyaka crashing back down to harsh reality. She was travelling from Britain to Australia in the hopes of finding Kuroichi and at least weakening him enough so that her old clan and its allies could finish him. She always regretting leaving without even saying goodbye to Kyu, he was a wonderful friend, someone she missed everyday. But that was not the thing to dwell on, no, there was training to be done and Sumiyaka knew well that Kuroichi would kill her easily if she didn't keep up her regimental hours training in the harsh sea weather. She stepped outside and smiled as the wind seemed to slow and caress her skin, the rain battering everywhere around her, never once hitting her with it's almighty force. Sumiyaka.....Breeze of the Vampires... The voice was like a sigh, a happy albeit lazy voice that called out to the woman on deck, calling her to the front of the ship. Her smiled broadened as she extended her arms, feeling the wind encircle them and her body in turn, her power growing with it. Her training had been successful, she may not have power over all of the elements like Kuroichi had, but the wind was her ally and it would grant her power when the time came. A small blue orb appeared in her slender hands, absorbing the air and rain around. The woman smiled softly and released it, watching as it spiralled into the air only to explode in a flash of light. Her symbol, a simple 'S' and a crucifix, anyone who saw it would know she was there. "Let that be a sign of your fate, Kuroichi..." Other: Beth is a great lover of children, this is more than likely due to her past. By the way, you'll have to teach me how to pronounce the vast majority of clan names next time we're on the phone, 'cuz I'm pretty sure I've mangled them. Edit: omfg, so much writing. *dead* I'm very sorry about all this lot, but her bio is really, really important as it explains her seals and stuff. Gah. I'll probably add it into the RP in a more condensed way, because I really don't expect [STRIKE]anyone[/STRIKE] everyone to be bothered to read all that.

Kuja, more often than not, preferred to sit by himself and admire his nails. However, the youth that had just entered with a green gem looked very interesting indeed...he had silver hair too! Kuja had never seen someone else with the same type of hair, so he just had to talk with him. He got up and walked slowly over to the young boy, his silver tail swaying with his steps as he did so. "Hello there, little boy...what's your name?" Riku looked up with a glare at the term 'little boy' and made a consciences point to ignore Kuja. The older man simply pouted and sat himself next to Riku, legs crossed with a patient smile on his face. "I couldn't help but notice your glorious hair..." he started, reaching out a hand in a friendly manner to lift a lock of Riku's hair. His hand was quickly slapped away and Kuja yelped, cradling the injured hand in his lap. "I'm only trying to be friendly!" he hissed venomously. This boy obviously had no proper upbringing. How dare he slap a hand with skin as soft as Kuja's! It was an outrage! Kuja huffed and stood up, walking away slowly to see if the boy would apologise. He didn't, and Kuja stood next to Yuna to sulk and, hopefully, be granted some attention.

Kuja giggled happily as he spun in his new outfit. He'd had it designed specifically for the game as soon as he found out he'd been accepted. This was going to be such a joy! He just couldn't wait to arrive at the CPU and meet all of his opponents. Kuja's servants were beginning to worry that the young man had lost his mind, before they had to remind themselves that he never really had one in the first place. He had been presented with the package that morning, and now, as he rode on his dragon to a remote spot where he'd connect to the CPU, he admired his face in the Green Gem that had come with his letter. Yes, the orb distorted his features a little, but he looked like a darling with big eyes and a button nose. Another excited giggle came from the young man's lips as his steed touched down on a grassy plain. Kuja stroked its magnificent head in thanks before the dragon left, leaving Kuja to connect to the CPU. He did so with ease, and could only describe the short time of travel between his old home and the eerie blue light of the meeting point as...disorientating. His head spun a little as he staggered forward, catching the eyes of a few other players already there. "Oh, well, hello, everyone! That trip gave me a bit of a funny turn..." he smiled awkwardly and flicked some stray locks of hair from his eyes, flashing a brilliant smile at the contestants gathered before him. He didn't, of course, realise that most of them thought he was gay as a Christmas tree, or female. "Kupo! You must be Kuja, yes?" "Why, of course." Kuja smiled again, winking at anyone who happened to be looking his way. "I'm glad you remembered me...Mog." Kuja paused before the name of his host came to mind. Mog seemed satisfied and held out a paw, "Could you show me your item, kupo?" he asked, twitching his claws, gesturing that Kuja should show him the gem. "Ah, yes, of course." he produced the green orb from his messenger bag and held it out for Mog, who again seemed satisfied, and nodded. Kuja stepped forward and wiggled his fingers to those gathered already in a semi-wave, getting a few nodded heads and smiles in return. "Glad to see you all look, er..." Kuja swept his eyes over the group, "Normal." he smiled his winning smile. Somewhere in his brain a switch flicked. It was game on.

A light flush crossed Esther's cheeks as she passed over the threshold into Wolfgang's house. Great, so he didn't have any manners, either. Figures. She guessed he already hated her, or was well on his way to feeling that way. Perhaps a direct approach would be best? "There's something I have to tell you, but I'm not sure how easy it will be for you to understand..." Wolfgang's venomous stare told Esther that this had certainly been the wrong approach. The woman almost wilted under it and she shrank back to the wall, keeping her hands clasped together tightly. "That is...I mean..." she fumbled for the words as her mouth became dry, Wolfgang still staring at her, his glare becoming colder as Esther stuttered. "Spit it out, woman. I don't have time for you messing me around." The brunette's accent seemed to get thicker as his anger increased, and Esther finally managed to find her voice. "You...you listen to me! I'm here to help you, and like it or not, I'm a scientist and I know a lot more than you do." Wolfgang twitched. "...in certain clinical matters." Esther finished nervously. After about ten minutes of nervous rambling, Esther had Wolfgang seated with a Whiskey in his hand, actually listening to what she told him with the occasional nod of his head to show that he was understanding properly. He laughed at some of the things she told him; things about his past, but at least Esther had gotten through to him. By the time she had finished, the raven-haired woman was a little less nervous than she had been before. "Um...may I have a drink, please?" she ventured, still sounding timid. Wolfgang finished off his drink with a final swig and stood, nodding. "Ja, of course, you've kept me entertained," he smiled awkwardly, "Don't sound so timid, woman, you seem to be onto something quite scary here. Weakness wouldn't be your friend. That is, if you?re telling me the truth." Esther nodded a little and tried a smile, only succeeding in her mouth hitching up a little. Soon, a cold glass was pushed into her hands, and warm whiskey filled her throat. It brought tears to her eyes, but God knew it was what she needed. OOC: Wraith, if you'd like, you can post whenever you want. ULX, another post from you detailing Wolfgang actually joining with Esther and a show of his abilities would be nice, sankyuu~
