The funny thing is, I've been to both the best and worst concert of my life in the past five days. And they weren't the same one, either. The best? 3 Inches of Blood. It was in a tiny venue, Club Boom Va (in Ogden), and the stage was like two feet off the ground, so the crowd got right up there. The opening acts were cool and all-local, too: Necrophacus, Offered No Escape, and Burn the Prophets. They all rocked pretty hard. But it was nothing compared to 3 Inches, when they came on. I was standing right in the front, so I was almost pushed up on stage a few times. I managed to stand my ground, though. It was just so cool. My only regret was that I didn't know more of their songs by heart. The worst? NIN and Queens of the Stone Age. It really bums me out to call this the worst concert I've ever been to, because I absolutely love those bands. They were great, they played the songs wonderfully and just rocked out. But whoever was in charge of the sound should be shot. In the head. With cancer. There was so much distortion and the acoustics were just awful. It would take me like half the song just to figure out which one it was. Part of it was that the venue was the E-Center, which is a hockey rink, and hockey rinks are not known for their concert-hall acoustics. Add to the crappy sound the fact that EVERYONE was smoking. The air was practically solid. I thought I was going to get cancer and die right there. Plus, the t-shirts were, like, 30 bucks! That's ridiculous!

-Sunday, July 31st, 0530 (roughly) Sergeant-at-Arms Anders Svensson started awake as a finger gently tapped his shoulder. "Sergeant Svensson?" The intrusive digit in question belonged to a camoflaged Corporal, still panting slightly from carrying a heavy sniper rifle, provisions and binoculars up the tree to reach him. "It's time to change shifts." Anders, once conscious, was instantly alert. He identified his shift replacement as Corporal Hinreck, albeit a Corporal Hinreck with some leafy add-ons and splash paint. "Thanks, Hinreck." Anders blinked out over the darkened horizon. Deadwood sprawled before him as far as he could see. Dawn's tentative reach had just begun to show over the tops of the forest's wooden giants. It always looks so serene around this time of day, he thought. He squeezed through the trapdoor in the disguised recon booth's floor. From there, it was a quick scramble down the branches of the tree and a short hike back to the main camp. Things had already gotten brighter by the time he had reached it. ------ -Sunday, July 31st, 0715 Anders surveyed the small collection of camoflaged tents from the small dirt clearing in the center. The camp was a bustle of general inactivity. People were constantly moving, but only to stay active. Still, he could tell that a change was in the air. Something was strained. Something big was going to happen. "Sir! Weather report!" a Private saluted him, clutching a peice of paper freshly printed off. "What's the forecast?" "A doozy, sir! Tropical Storm Antony's gonna hit Asgard, they say. Could disrupt communications for a while. They say it might even head inland, sir!" "Wow, been a while since somthing big's hit. Sounds like drinks are on me, boys!" Those that heard the exchange laughed at the small joke. Anders' Altered talent was no mystery to the camp. "Still, this storm's gonna be something. Hope nothing important happens. Ah, well," he slapped the Private on the back. "Won't be the first time the Rangers've been stranded in the wilderness, cut off from HQ. We'll be fine!" -------- -Sunday, July 31st, 1900, Transmission from Anders' Recon Base to Nadine City Special Defense Forces Border Control: "Border Control outpost be advised. Truck spotted approaching Nadine City through Deadwood. Departure location presumed to be Cadmus. Two persons in the vehicle, presumed armed and dangerous."

There was this feeling that I got during that concert. It was something quite profound, really. It felt as if that one moment in time I was in was truly meaningful and beautiful and would be something to cherish and hold onto. You know when it happened? It happened right at the beginning of "Wykydtron". The sheer awesomeness of it must've caused me to have a minor epiphany. It was great. "HEY! It's a Wykydtron? woh-oh-oh-woah!" Man, I love that song.

Hey, was anyone else on the 'boards in Ogden last night? Because if they were and they WEREN'T in Club Boom Va, they are officially lame. Know why? Because last night in Ogden, in the Club Boom Va venue, there was a concert of true awesomeness, because 3 Inches of Blood played! It was beautiful. Other bands that opened were Necrophacus, some hardcore-ish band I forget the name of, and Burn the Prophets, all of which rocked most heavily. Sadly, none of them could compare to the sheer awesomeness of 3 Inches. I scored some t-shirts, some buttons, and their playlist that the bassist signed! It was truly an unforgettable concert. I still can't hear high frequencies too well. Oh well, such is the price for standing at the very front.

Man, I love it when a post comes along with an awesome premise and people who are good writers sign up! Name: Anders Svensson Age: 57 Gender: Male - Altered First Generation City of Residence: Nadine - The Dominion Loyalty: Nadine City SDF Job: SDF Special Ops - Sergeant-at-Arms Abilities: Anders' abilities are very minor due to the fact that he was already middle-aged when he was abducted to be experimented on. As it is, he is a low-powered Hydrokinetic. He can make a small amount of moisture condense out of thin air; on more humid days he could perhaps fill a small canteen. This helps on long patrols, when supplies are strictly rationed. He can also control physical phase changes of water to some extent. There is an offensive side to his powers, however. Should he be tracking an enemy, he can slowly leach moisture from them, causing them to eventually collapse of dehydration. Should they choose to hide in a body of water, Anders could drown them easily. He knows how to survive in the wilderness for extended periods of time. He's a damn good shot to boot and knows how to get his squad home in one peice. Weapon of Choice: Anders carries a standard issue Imperial Model XX Semi-Automatic Combat Pistol. However, instead of the combat rifle, he is equipped with a heavy-duty, long-range sniper rifle. He also carries a large machete, more for survival than combat. Appearance: Anders sports a moustache/goatee combo with hair of a longish cut. However, while once jet black in his carefree youth, it now shows signs of graying. Such is life. He has strong, trustworthy features and eyes of an earthy hazel. He is about 6'1" and of a lithe yet strong build. He was lucky enough to be issued some Imperial Model II Body Armor, and he wears it religiously, it having saved his life on many an occasion. Over this, however, he has a flexible hooded cloak painted in a camo pattern. He carries a burlap camo net with him in a rucksack should he need extra cover. Personality: Like most Altereds, Anders bears a deep melancholical sadness. He's not really introverted, more resigned and withdrawn. His squad understand this and try not to bring up sensitive subjects, such as the hideous experiments conducted on him. Despite this, Anders knows how to connect with his troops and there is a deep sense of fellowship running through them all, despite being a mix of Altereds and Innocents. The official name of his squad may be "Her Imperial Majesty's 1st Special Operations Long-Range Survailance and Forward Light Offensive Squad", but the unofficial name is "Anders' Rangers", in honor of his stellar leadership. Biography: Anders comes from a soldier's stock. Back through history, his lineage has always been that of the commoners that fought for the great lords. It's no surprise, then, that Anders was a soldier for "The Homeland" before his abduction. His memory is scant of the horrific experiments conducted upon him in the darkest confines of the Research Base and frankly, he's glad of it. Unfortunately, the mind never truly forgets anything, and his dreams are ravaged by images of scalpels, electrodes, straps, rooms of surgical white, and cruelly impassive faces behind display glass. He's worked his nightmares out to his own benifit, however, as they help him stay awake on long, sleepless patrols. After the construction of Nadine and the alliance with the Empress, Anders joined the SDF, where he was soon promoted to the leader of the fledgling 1st Special Operations Long-Range Survailance and Forward Light Offensive Squad. This squad soon integrated into the platoon of the brilliant and ambitious 1st Lieutenant Zacherai Star-Wind. Despite the Lieutenant's disdain for non-Altereds, those in Anders' Rangers chose to stay loyal to their Sergeant-at-Arms. Besides, what with being in the field so often, they rarely come into contact with the Lieutenant. His family may have been a soldier's line, but that doesn't mean that Anders embraces war. He fought with the Altered/Innocent alliance in the hopes of creating a peaceful haven for him to live out the rest of his days. Sadly, it seems that some dreams are destined to failure. War comes once more to Asgard.

Which songs have the funniest or most interesting lyrics?
Rhym replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in Noosphere
One of my favorite bands of all time, Sonata Arctica, has really great lyrics. For being from Scandinavia, Tony Kakko sure has a poetic grasp of English (although his accent is still pretty pronounced). One of the funniest things about them is the fact that they write so many love songs. When the average person hears "love song", they'll probably think "ballad" or maybe "pop-punk". Sonata Arctica writes Symphonic Power Metal love songs. Here's some lyrics from "San Sebastian": Sun of San Sebastian, oh why I cannot say She's all I ever dreamed, but now my skies are turning gray. It was good I got to know her well, because it made me see That the sun of San Sebastian is just too hot for me. Every single day, for the rest of my way I live without my love, my God, I have to stay in shade When I'm old and gray, I remember that day When she came, that perfect dame and... she blew me away! Good times, good times. -
WARHAMMER 40,000 The Paths of War THE STORY A planet has been discovered in the unknown sector. This planet contains things valuable to all races of the 40K universe. It seems a great conflict will brew over the lush backwater planet of Harkan. Where will you stand? THE RACES If the race appears in WH40K, you can play as a character in it, although some races might be harder to write for, such as the Tyranids or the Necrons. Links are provided below for each race. Chaos Space Marines Daemonhunters Dark Eldar Eldar Imperial Guard Necrons Orks Space Marines (specify which chapter, e.g. Space Wolves or Blood Angels) Tau (you can make a Kroot character, if you want) Tyranids (not recommended) Witch Hunters CHARACTER SETUP Name: This one is fairly obvious. Make it sound like a name fitting of the race. Race: Choose one of the races listed above. Rank: Where your character stands in your race's army. For instance, an Eldar character could be an Exarch, Warlock, Farseer, etc., or a Witch Hunter character could be an Inquisitor Lord or Sister of Battle. Gender: I hope I don't have to explain this one to you. Age: Some races age differently than others. Orks probably develop younger than humans, Eldar develop at a rate similar to elves, and Necrons probably don't age at all, what with being in metal bodies and all. Armaments: What weapons your character uses. Codexes can be a great help for this and the Powers section. If you don't have a Codex, which is likely, then try to make it sound believable. Powers: If your character is a Psyker or has any special talents, list them here. Appearance: If you feel like describing it, fine. I've given you a bunch of links to each race, so you could browse the Miniatures Range section for that. Or, if you've painted your own and feel like sharing it with us, go right ahead. Personality: Another fairly obvious one. Interest in Harkan: Why is your race interested in the planet of Harkan? It could be that there's some kind of material there your race needs. It could be that your race would just like it as an outpost to refuel and plan strikes into enemy territory. It could be just for the love of fighting other races, if you're an Ork, or that you want to strip the planet of its biomass to fuel your hive fleets, if you're a Tyranid. Be creative, but keep it plausible. If someone else before you has listed a reason for their race's interest and your character is from the same race, it's okay to be lazy and take theirs, but try to be original. There are factions in every race. MY CHARACTER Name: Farseer Ulannan Iendan Race: Eldar Rank: Farseer Gender: Male Age: 476 Eldar years, relatively young. Armaments: Shuriken Pistol - Standard issue short-range pistol that fires sharpened discs at deadly speed. Witchblade - Eldar psykers carry potent force weapons known as witchblades, which may take the form of a spear, sword, or some other weapon. Ulannan's is a sword. Rune Armor - Eldar Farseers and Warlocks are covered by protective runes and sigils that use psychic energy to ward off enemy attacks. Powers: (Taken from the Eldar Codex) Eldritch Storm - The Farseer may summon a corona of crackling energy which strikes out with arcs of lightning and hurls enemies in all directions. Mind War: The Farseer reaches out to attack the mind of an enemy in a desperate mental duel. Appearance: Ulannan (Second from right) Personality: Ulannan, for being so young for a Farseer, is surprisingly level-headed. However, he can be gripped by periods of rashness and take unnecessary risks. This is very dangerous, considering that, as a Farseer, he must guide his people to safety and victory. He hails from the Ulthwé craftworld. Interest in Harkan: The Eldar of Ulthwé are running low on the mysterious substance known as wraithbone. They need this substance to construct their weapons, their armor, their vehicles, bodies for mighty warriors encased in soulstones, even the craftworld itself is made out of it. On the backwater planet of Harkan, a substance has been found that is remarkably similar to wraithbone, with the same level of resilience and conductivity. The Eldar need Harkan to harvest this material and thus perpetuate their dying race. THE RULES It's a rule in Otakuboards that you make your posts understandable. I'd like to take this a step forward. Please try to spell and punctuate correctly. It ruins the feel of a story to see jarringly misplaced commas or blatantly misspelled words. And if you just plain can't spell to save your life, maybe consider playing as an Ork.

Oh man, nerd games are the best. I used to play magic WAY back in the day... actually, no, by "play" I mean "collect the cards because the artwork was pretty". I was only, what, six or seven I think. Recently, though, I've gotten back into it, but not really enough to buy my own cards. I usually just borrow a deck off of Jake of Bodom or something. D&D? Totally. I love playing it but I never get the chance to. Jake has all the books and stuff, but we never do it when we go over there. Ah well. It's fun stuff, though. Warhammer 40K is something I've just barely gotten into. I'm making an Eldar army right now, but most of it's still in the sprue. I've only painted 4 peices as of now. I still haven't played a real game, but I've played the first few missions of Battle for Macragge, if that counts... I've heard that Eldar armies can be very tricky to play as, but I didn't really pick them expecting to win (although that would be nice). I picked them because of the Wraithlord. I mean, look at that thing! It's just so damn cool! Oh, and speaking of 40K, I've just started a 40K-themed thread in Adventure Inn. If you fancy yourself a good writer, join up!

Favorite Vocalist: I have two. Tony Kakko of Sonata Arctica (duh) and Cedric Bixler Zavala of The Mars Volta. Tony Kakko - This guy has pleasingly melodic clean vocals and sports an absolutely insane range. He makes falsetto cool. The band has a great sound that's just full of energy and musical passion, and his voice and his occasional layering effects only add to it. Here are some lyrics from "Black Sheep" off of Silence. Temple of the evil, temple of the weak No one knows how bad he feels Late-night innuendo, tempetation of the key Live with the black sheep, live with me Cedric Bixler Zavala - Truly inspired, some would even say possesed, singing with mind-numbingly poetic and occasionally obtuse lyrics characterize Cedric's style. Mere words really can't do it justice. Well, maybe some words from "Intertiatic ESP" off of De-loused in the Comatorium can. Dolls wreck the minced meat of pupils Cast in oblong arms length The hooks have been picking their scabs Where wolves hide in the company of men Least Favorite Vocalist: Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam and all his other uninspired sound-alike clones. I hate them so much. So very, very much. This man, or perhaps Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots, is solely responsible for the cavalcade of awful music that assaulted our eardrums and fine sensibilities in the late 90's. You could switch any band member of Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, Creed, Dave Mathews Band, etc. etc., and you would still have the exact same sound. And their lyrics? It's like their brain took a crap and it came out their mouths, which is why they talk so funny, because their mouths are always filled with brain-craps. God, I hate them.
-
Finally, an update! Huzzah! Man, you just keep picking the hard ones. Hmmm... Well, I do like Judas Priest, but really, Iron Maiden could be Power Metal if you updated the drumming, and you all know how I feel about Power Metal. Plus there's the amazing guitar work and general awesomeness. My vote's for Iron Maiden.

Man, I am so gonna find me some black metallers and smite them with my epic mighty steel! Dude, Running Free makes epic songs about pirates, Jake! WE MUST FIND THEM. Pirates!

They don't have November 19th up yet, so I can't double-check, but check out September 23 and October 1st. From Autumn to Ashes and 3 Inches of Blood, respectively. 3 Inches of Blood, dude! Hell yes!

Favorite band? Oh man, that's a toughy... I think I might have to say Sonata Arctica. This is a truly great Symphonic Power Metal band, in the style of Stratovarius. Tony Kakko, the lead singer, has a great voice and can play the keyboards to boot. He did so on Ecliptica, their first album, and on their third, Winterheart's Guild, with the help of Jens Johansson of Stratovarius. The drummer, Tommy Portimo, is a machine. He can do the traditional Power Metal drumbeat at any speed and never slow down. Listen to "Wolf and Raven" for proof. Jani Liimatainen, the guitarist, is amazingly talented and can just bust out the solos like they were nothing. The lyrics are always awesome, usually about love, music, or wolves. On each of their four studio albums they will always have at least one song that is about or mentions wolves. On Ecliptica it was "Fullmoon", on Silence it was "Wolf and Raven", on Winterheart's Guild it was "The Cage", and Reckoning Night's was "Ain't Your Fairytale". It's kinda funny, but mostly awesome as that song usually turns out to be the best song on the album. Oh yeah, and because I can't mention Sonata Arctica without mentioning this, Tony Kakko totally keeps it real! Recommended Listening: Any of the songs about wolves, "Kingdom for a Heart", "Picturing the Past", "Wildfire", "White Pearl, Black Oceans...", "Don't Say a Word", "Revontulet", "Weballergy", "Black Sheep", "Gravenimage", "Silver Tongue", and, one of my personal favorites, "Champagne Bath".

I will respectfully choose to take what could promise to be a very ugly flame war away from the public eye. ShonenSamuraiMugen, the gauntlet has been laid. You shall be hearing from me shortly.

Well, I hate to perpetuate the stereotype suggested by Amorphous and Jake, but here I go... Jake's pretty much right there, that this would be DCA versus New COF, as I've only heard Dimmu's Death Cult Armaggedon and Filth's Nymphetamine. This is because I'm more into the power metal side of metal, especially when it's symphonic. And, for all those familiar with the two albums, they are CRAZY symphonic. But, to clarify, not power metal. Comparing my favorite songs off of each, I'd have to go with Dimmu Borgir. While I do love "English Fire" off of Nymphetamine, I like "Progenies of the Great Apocalypse" a HELL of a lot better. Have you ever played Warcraft 3 to that song? It's seriously like the most epic thing you can ever hope to experience.

Oh dear lord. Just when I thought humanity couldn't reach a lower depth, I stumble across this thread. Hawthorne Heights. I hadn't known which band it was until someone mentioned that unholy butchering of sound waves you poor misdirected fools seem to think is a song, "Ohio is for Lovers". GOOD LORD, PEOPLE. Have you no self-respect? Can you not see that they aren't making this "music" out of any sense of artistry? They are doing this crap to be the Next Big Thing, to become temporarily Bigger Than Jesus, but, most of all, they are doing this to STEAL YOUR MONEY. As soon as I heard the words, "So cut my wrists and black my eyes," I KNEW they weren't in it for the music's sake.
Originally Posted by ShonenSamuraiMugen Hey guys...Is it punk, alt., or metal? The item on that list that they're closest to is punk, because they're Pop-Punk. No offense to you personally, Mugen, but NEVER EVER smudge the good name of Metal again by comparing it with this FILTH. If you want metal, if you want good music, go listen to Children of Bodom or Stratovarius or Dark Tranquility or Opeth. Just don't listen to this crap.

Any anime soundtrack done by Yoko Kanno will be instantly brilliant. The soundtracks for Cowboy Bebop and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex come to mind especially. Trigun has a pretty sweet soundtrack, a nice blend of hard rock jams and wild-western twangs. It's got the soul-achingly slow remorseful ones for the tragic parts, the goofy bouncy ones for the silly parts, and the screamingly distorted killer guitar riffs for the awesome fight scenes. One of the best opening themes I've seen, however, was from Wild Arms: Twilight Venom. It is the happiest, most soaring, most epic themesong I think I've heard so far. The series itself is kinda shmeh, and the ending themesong is garbage, but the opener kicks.

Ah, good to find a group of like-minded people who know how to appreciate a Gilliam film. The man is a genius. Fear and Loathing is totally awesome, and not because it had Johnny Depp in it (although he did portray Hunter Thompson smack on, from what I've heard). Brazil is one I'm willing to give another chance, seeing as how I saw it when I was pretty small and it was a really surreal and depressing movie. Didn't Gilliam do Twelve Monkeys, too? Anyways, back to The Brothers Grimm. I loved it. While it may not be as surreal or underground as his other works, it's still got that Gilliam flair. Whoever's idea it was to get Terry Gilliam to do a movie on the Grimm brothers and give him a big budget to spend as he pleased should be given a medal.
I'm afraid you're wrong there, Dragon Warrior. Cavaldi is an Italian name, and notice how he used the phrase "Ten little-a bambinas" in reference to the missing girls. I think he was supposed to be an Italian mercenary or something. I was pissed off that Damon came back, too. I mean, it wouldn't have been that bad if he just came back, but no, of course he has to get the girl, regardless of the fact that it was Ledger's character that revived her while Damon was happily dead. Ah well.

Hmmm... I don't know much about these two bands musically, but I'd have to go with Megadeth, just because Metallica kinda aggravates me and plus, they're a bunch of jerks.
-
Oh damn, yo. That is a TOUGH choice. I dunno whether to choose melodic death metal or blackened power metal. Crap. In Flames writes riffs that are just so swish-able, whereas Children of Bodom has this inescapable, contagious, absolutely wild ENERGY about their music. This'll be tough... I'm gonna have to go with Children of Bodom, just because newer In Flames is kinda bordering on NĂ¼-Metal, wheras CoB has always been awesome.

Aww, man! I wish I had seen this thread earlier! I missed out on voting for some of my favorite bands! Really quick, because I'll just die if I can't vote for em: As I Lay Dying - I haven't really heard that much of Killswitch Engage but AILD's new album is AMAZING! Sonata Arctica - One of my ALL-TIME favorite bands. Kamelot's awesome and all, but I just gotta vote for the Arctica. Plus, Tony Kakko keeps it real! Led Zeppelin - Black Sabbath is great, but really, Zep is just so much more talented. Tool - A most phenomenal band. Plus, Porcupine Tree is a bit too Pink Floyd-y for my tastes. Okay, back to current affairs. Backstreet Boys vs. N'Sync. I'd have to choose: shooting myself in the mouth. Seriously, Jake, what are you trying to pull? Keep it metal! Keep it awesome.

Why yes, Jake, I have heard "Mother Earth" by Within Temptation. A THOUSAND CURSES UPON YOU for telling me about them! Now I cannot rest until I own every single one of their songs! AAARRGGGHH! Great band, great band. When it comes to bands with female vocalists.... hmm..... I would say Nightwish, because they're forkin' amazing, but now that I've heard Within Temptation, the seed of doubt has been planted in my think-meats. It is very much within my temptation ( :D I couldn't resist) to list them as the best female-vocalized band. Sinergy is also cool, but I like Nightwish's vocalist better. You know what other band is great? LUCA TURILLI Luca Turilli is actually the lead guitarist for Rhapsody, but he's done some solo albums, and they are like Rhapsody times a GAZILLION. Check out "Legend of Steel" (I think is what it's called, or maybe Legion of Steel). I don't know what album it's off of, but it is absolutely fantabulous. Dang, there were some others, but they've slipped my mind. Ah well. Keep it real, like Sonata Arctica does!

Wow, it's so refreshing to find people on the Boards who actually like metal! Huzzah! There's a few more bands I've recently come across (Jake gave them to me, actually :animesmil ), and I'd like to share them. Dark Tranquility - Oh man, these guys just might be the most epic death metal band I've heard. Maybe even more epic that Kalmah, and that's saying something. Damage Done is a most excellent album. I mean, usually, there are maybe two or three songs I won't like on an album, but not this one. Get it as soon as possible. Old Man's Child - I think these guys might be black metal. Normally, black metal is just kinda stupid and crappy, but these guys kick mondo arse. They're a bit like Dimmu Borgir in that they're a black metal band that actually cares about how they sound. Otogi-san, I would recommend these guys but I doubt a song called "Felonies of the Christian Art" would go over too well with your parents. Trivium - The hardcore-ish vocalist can get a bit annoying, and those uneducated in metal might hear just the singer and think it punk, but these guys are straight up death metal. They have wonderful guitar licks as well as some of the coolest metal moments, like this bit towards the end in "A Gunshot to the Head of Trepidation" off of the Ascendancy album. You'd have to hear it, because it's hard to describe, but it kicks *** when it happens. Opeth - What can I say that will do justice to Opeth? Nothing, but I can try. Take Tool, mix it with a whole lot of melodic death metal, some discordant acoustic guitars, and perhaps the barest smattering of Dimmu, and you have Opeth. Get Opeth right now. American Head Charge - These guys are pretty awesome. "Loyalty," off of The Feeding, is a truly awesome song, and the video is sweet too. Fedoras + Evil Nurse Clowns + Insane Asylum + Awesome Song = Very Yes. Fear Factory - I haven't really listened to that much of these guys, but I do know that they have some of the most precise guitar?double bass pedal synchronization I've heard. When I get more metal from Jake, I'll let you know about any other ones.

Opeth. Go and get Opeth. Right now. Get Blackwater Park. Listen. Learn. Love. I most definately agree, Lacuna Coil, Type O Negative kicks. They have an uncanny talent of making haunting melodies, like in Red Water (Christmas Mourning) or Wolf Moon (Including Zoanthropic Paranoia). And My Girlfriend's Girlfriend makes me laugh.
Origionally Posted by Otagi-san I'll have to show them the lyrics and see what they say. They banned me from playing D&D, which I hear the members play, so that could be a big factor in their decision.
It would not surprise me at all if 3 Inches of Blood played D&D. Although, it seems to me like they play Warcraft 3 more than D&D. I would wager the band that plays the most D&D is Rhapsody. I'm sorry your parents feel that way. I mean, I can kinda understand why parents think it's a good idea to ban D&D (because, you know, imagination is bad), but dictating whether or not you can listen to a band based on if the members play it? That is not cool.

Is it just me? Does anyone else notice the n00bs? It seems to me that over the few years I've been on the Boards, the post quality in Adventure Square has dropped horribly. I refer to RPs I've been in such as Guild of Beginnings (which was entertaining, until the n00bs infected it with crappy writing) and Punishment Divine (in which they took my idea and ignored my character). Compared to Subhuman, a post I joined when I joined the boards, these are crap. Okay, so there may have been some inconsistencies in Subhuman, but it was solid writing through and through. So, what do you think? Have the Boards gotten n00bed?
