Sorry about my last post. I was very sleep deprived and loaded on Pixi Stix. Anyway, lets see if I can get this thread started up again... so, yeah, anyway I finally have obtained all four DVDs of Fruba (Fruits Basket) and I must say the ending was freakin' spectacular! If I may have a girly moment I will admit that I started crying once Shigure and
Katsuma
started talking on the balcony....guess I knew something bad would happen.... but I seriously would not stop crying until the middle of the last episode (I have no clue as to what was wrong with me...). Anyway,
Kyo's "Original Form" didn't look, as everyone said, horrifying and gruesome.
Sure it was strange but it could have been worse.
I though that when he was changing was more horrifying
, but maybe that's just me. Oh, by the way, does anyone have any opinions on what was up with Yuki at the end? I mean after
Tohru comes home holding a kitty Kyo
but before
Tohru, Yuki, Kyo, Shigure, and Hatori all visit Akito (well....maybe not Kyo....). He seemed really down and deep in thought.
At least at the end he's back to normal. Just wondered if you had an opinion on it :) Bis Bald!!

Anime Anime that need a sequel/continuation
manga gal15 replied to 5th Hokage's topic in Otaku Central
I would just love for there to be a second season of Fruits Basket. I know that the manga is still in circulation, but there are still about 14 manga volumes out now so they could still make another season with maybe 22-25 episodes!! After all, I want to know what happens between
Tohru, Yuki, and Kyo. I also want to know if Kyo's shocking "Original Form" will somehow slightly affect his friendship with Tohru.
And as for
Akito. I want to know how Tohru affected him. After all, he seemed so...conflicted after Tohru told him what was on her mind. I also do want to see Rin (the horse) and...what was the roosters name again?? Ah, well I want to see him to!!
One thing that bothers me about making sequels is that they probably wouldn't be the same. Not because it's a sequel, but because of time. When you really think about it, most anime that's release here is usually about two-three years old in Japan (at least usually) and then there's when you actually watch it. Some of the series I own on DVD were never aired on television so by the time I actually heard about them they were already and aditional year of two old (an example: Fruits Basket. I only bought the DVDs once I started reading the manga.) What I'm trying to say is that it could be, like five years until you watch an anime since it was released in Japan. The producers, directors, animators, voice actors (Japanese and American) they could have changed. So it would turn out different and possibly turn out a sequel below expectations. That's all I wanted to say (phew, that was quite a bit....) Bis Bald!! -
Anime Ending that makes you want to strangle the director
manga gal15 replied to Okita's topic in Otaku Central
Yeah, the Fruits Basket ending was kinda cut short. I mean the manga goes on for about 14 volumes or something.... but at least it was a, though disturbing at first, happy ending (although those kinda endings have a high risk of being....well....to put in kind words, way to emotional for their own good). But seriously, why do some of the most beautiful, involving series have such crappy endings?! I don't need a huge battle or a happy ending to resolve a series, just a conclusion that makes sense (at least eventually) and doesn't leave anything hanging or crams everything into one episode. I guess one justification is that these directors have insane deadlines and they are, in a way, ruled by companies that don't care about our feelings as viewers and only have eyes for pieces of paper that have pictures on them. Here's a little math lesson for them: anime series + good ending = money. Anyway, I really don't know what I'm talking about... I'm running on 7 hours sleep in a 48 hour period... -
FRUITS BASKET!!!! YAY!! I LOVE IT!! Actually, as I'm writing this, I'm becoming very scared because my friend is now obsessed with Kyo and after reading in this tread how everyone else loves Kyo, well.... she's scary. VERY scary (now she's releasing her fury by playing DDR....). I seriuosly love it though. I have Volumes 1-4 of the manga (my store, Starclipper comics, releases new volumes of manga, like, 3 weeks earlier than the "posted release date"!! YAY!!) and I also have volumes 1 and 2 of the anime. My b-day's the 9th, so hopefully my mom bought me the last two. I wish they would start a second season in Japan. Then they could dub it and send it here!! YAY!! There are 14 volumes of the manga out, so a second season wouldn't be a problem. And I think that there are more volumes coming out. Maybe. I hope to God. Also, I don't like how they took out some stuff from the manga that was important... like when Hana and Uo visited in episode 6, the totally took out the scene when Tohru tells them about who gave her the hat when she was little (who was obviously a young Kyo); and the double date that Tohru, Yuki, Kyo, and Kagura went on for Valentines day; and several important conversations with Shigure and Hatori. I did like how they did episode eight. It was amazing. I'm typing to much. :babble: :babble: And as for anyone who watches Fruba (Fruits Basket), get anyone you know to watch it. I've even gotten my MOTHER to watch it. My MOTHER, people. She LOVES it. If I can get her and some of my other friends to watch it, and especially since some of them (including my mother) had absolutely no intrest in manga or anime, you can do it to. Spread the word!! Yeah, I'm done being wierd now. I don't really have a favorite character and there are to many hot character to choose, but if I had to choose a fav. from what I've seen so far, it would be.... um.... Momiji. He's just so funny and cute!! And to think that he's fifteen....scary. And I do wish he was half German, like in the manga. Oh, and his mother has some serious issues. Even so, I still don't have a favorite character and I gotta go. Bis Bald!!

Of COURSE Inu-Yasha is a must have title for any otaku of manga! If you don't read Inu-Yasha.... it's just too unthinkable to type down. I haven't gotten very far in the manga (why, my dear bookstore, why must you run out of the volumes I need!?!?) but I've watched all of the anime, and that alone should get you to read the manga. Anyway I gotta go, time to finally go home. ONLY 6 MORE DAYS TILL GRADUATION!!! WOOHOO!!

As said multiple times before me, it depends on what you like. I myself like fantasy, action, adventure, and comedy (sometimes romance, but sometimes it gets too sappy). Here are some current titles I like: DNAngel

If you ask me, Gaara's sort of hot in that get-away-from-me-or-you'll-wish-you-were-never-born kind of way. And actually most of the guys in Naruto are hot. I agree with you, Dark Sakura, Itachi and Neji are also hot (don't worry, though, I'm not going to take them ;) ). Ahhhh......so many guys, so little time. Oh, I also have another thing to say. Why is it they make Sakura seem like just a lovestruck, airheaded girl in the beginning (at least in the manga, I'm not sure about the anime)? Sure, there are some parts where you can tell that she's the smartest in her class, but...... ah, oh well. I was just wondering about that. Later days!!
