1. Alright, I was really bummed when Bug type was already called for. I am curious if there is any way for me to claim Bug as long as I have my roster up by the third. I have some badass dudes I'd like to use!
2. McDonalds dollar menu. If I could live at the D's and eat every meal there every day, I would in a heartbeat. This is perhaps due to my inability to cook and my current close proximity to many McDonalds restaurants.
3. One of the greatest series I've read this summer is the Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart. I read all three back to back and couldn't set them down, it's a wildly whimsical series. The plot is fun and the characters are unique and exciting, all three books exceeded my expectations. I'm a huge fan of young adult fantasy novels, and these books have certainly gained a spot on my favorites in this category up with the Artemis Fowl series and A Wrinkle in Time.
4. So I will call Fire type. I'm usually a sucker for bug types, so stepping out of my comfort zone should be refreshing. And my pokes will be: Reshiram Blaziken Volcarona Chandelure Charizard Magmortar I'm excited. I lurked quite a bit during the last tournament since I hadn't purchased black or white by the sign up date. Lawliet went with me to pick up my copy today, so I'm super psyched and preparing my dudes! Can't wait to see you folks on the battlefield.
5. Hello, all. I'm sure nobody here will remember me, it sure has been awhile. Well, I am entering the final semester of my undergraduate career as a graphic design/studio art student at university. I'd like a few opinions of some work, if anybody is game to rip me apart! So I've been toying with the notion of creating an installation piece for my Senior Portfolio Exhibition, complete with live painted models. To document my thought process, I've completed a few "brainstorming" shoots. My installation is a Genesis reconstruction, and my installation piece is going to perhaps be an entire created world. I am considering creating this "world" out of large slices of typography, creating a sort of "jungle" of "named things" to incorporate my text design and incorporate graphic elements. For instance, trees and jungle flowers will be made of colorful hand painted and hand carved letters, some spelling out the names of the items they are creating. Sketches are to come. Inside my jungle will perhaps be my models, sort of "creatures" of my own creation based on animalistic prints and shapes, as well as my own interpenetration animals. So, my eventual goal is to pull from ancient and religious texts to create a modern "world" for folks to walk through and become a part of, and my intention is to inspire creation by letting the creation story inspire. To make an old and dusty story of religion and re-tell it in a way that shows people that the creation of things and of art and of beauty is the true meaning of the story. So here are some of my ideas for the creatures to dwell inside my typographic forest, and I cannot decide if I would rather continue using hand prints as their markings, or if I would like to toy with text and letters in the paint. I suppose I have a semester to figure it out. Ideas, suggestions on my "animals"?
6.
- Chick-fil-A
Hey, I work there! I'm from Michigan, but I've spent a solid decade in Georgia now. Which means I'm pretty hooked on sweet tea. But I've gotta say I like fried chicken smothered in cream cheese. Very delicious.
7. Just finished quite a few books, seeing as I am fresh off of a long and relaxing vacation full of reading and other sorts of wonderment. A Wrinkle in Time. A wonderful book, I have read it many times in the past. I have not finished all of the sequels yet, and I presume that will be my next choice. Angels and Demons by Dan Brown. I read this book right after The Lost Symbol, which was much more exciting in my opinion. I agree with James, however, in regard to the characters. I feel as though, having read three books containing the same main protagonist, I should feel more attached to him. Angels and Demons was still certainly still worthy of a thumbs-up, I actually learned some interesting facts as well. Artemis Fowl: The Lost Colony by Eoin Colfer. Great book, not my favorite in the series. Very excited about reading book number six, the Time Paradox, but I seem to have misplaced it among the odds and ends around my house. While lazily refusing to locate my lost novel, I am happily trickling my free time away re-reading the Ultimate Hitchhikers Guide.
8. The Hush Sound - Don't Wake Me Up. I was just recently introduced to the band, and I must say I enjoy them. Sort of reminiscent of Fleetwood Mac.
9. Alice in Wonderland is a personal favorite. Trippy and exciting, there is never a dull moment, and there is a wonderful explosion of color and music and nonsensical nonsense. Fun to watch when impaired, but surely a treat for the senses anytime. South Park. Such meaningful lessons obscured by vulgar grade school students, pop culture references, and unabashed cartoon nudity. Last but certainly not least, the Lion King. For the music alone. And Timon and Pumba. I actually named my cat Mufasa from the sheer awesome of the Mufasa-in-the-sky scene. Plus my cat is the king of the jungle. Don't mess with Mufasa.
10. Ten. Short and sweet. But I'm sure I will accidentally say oh-ten a few times. It's a habit.
11. I enjoy the Good/Evil. And during the holiday months, Naughty/Nice could be substituted, perhaps.
12. There was a Disney movie, I currently can't remember which, where the evil villianess pulls off her false eyelashes. I always thought that if I tugged on the ends of my realy eyelashes that they would come off in one continuous line. I also thought that rainbows were solid objects.
13.
I do find it bad from when a date does it on a date. It makes me think that you're more interested in what your texting friends have to say rather than the person who is in front of you/next to you.
This would be one of the few times I'd say texting should be avoided at all costs. Especially if it's a first date senario. Other than that, texting should be embraced rather than regulated, IMHO.
14. Texing is a vital part of my life. I text to get in contact with my bosses, groups in my college classes, letting my parents know what I'm doing, and of course, keeping in touch with friends. I don't generally text in class or when I'm clocked in at work (unless it's my boss texting me), but I don't avoid texting at social gatherings. I can get work done and get in contact with classmates about group projects while hanging out with whoever it is that I'm hanging out with. Rude? Maybe. I don't really care.
15. The most romantic "date" I've ever been on was probably the Star Wars marathon. He surprised me one morning at 6am on my day off work. He woke me up bearing breakfast and a handful of Star Wars videos and junk foods. We ate and watched Star Wars on my couch all day. In the middle of the night when the sixth one was over, we ate pasta and doughnuts and slept until 7 the next morning, when we carpooled to work. Best day ever.
16. I like sweet sandwiches the best. Peanut butter and marshmallow, banana and jam, apricot and honey, or any other combination of fruits and/or sugary substances.
17. Driver's License Three dollars Tiny pencil Piece of emergency gum Debit card Credit card Three bobby pins Grocery list Home Depot list Random empty gift cards
18. Classic story. Daddy boinks daughter, daughter has baby. Daughter dumps daddy (Also her Baby's Daddy) for a younger model. Younger model (Bisexual father of three) proposes to daddy's daughter. New couple move in with daddy of daughter and baby, everyone lives happily ever after. "Now my love is legal." Haha. Hah.
19. Cooking is time-consuming, irritating, hot, tedious, tooth-grinding work. I cook/work in food service all day, I have no intention of cooking when I get home. I'm also no good at cooking. The only time I might cook is early in the morning. My brother goes to sleep around 6 in the morning, and I wake up at 5, so the time in between 5 and 6 is our brother-sister bonding time, in which we often make pancakes or cold cereal and play Mario Kart until I have to be at work at 6. I don't enjoy the food preparation part, but I love hanging with my brother, so it's okay.
20. What would you tell your 10-year-old self? Don't take yourself too seriously. Pay more attention in school. Don't eat so much junk food. You don't have to like boys if you don't want to, but girls aren't much better, I promise. What would you ask your 10-year-older self? Does love ever get any easier?
21.
There's this one ride at the Georgia Six Flags (The Ninja) that is infamous for making your head shake side to side so you end up hitting it on the bars, so whenever I strain my shoulder/neck muscles to keep it still they get pretty sore.
Six Flags Over Georgia! Whoo! The Ninja sucks. You wait in line for an ungodly long time for a ride that is about a third of the length of decent rides (Superman, Batman, Scorcher, Goliath, etc) and you dismount with a headache and a contorted backbone. The Goliath is my favorite. I also love the DeJaVu, but I once got stuck on it for over an hour and a half because of 'technical difficulties'. Needless to say, as awesome as it is, I never intend to ride it again. I also got stuck on those stupid kiddie swings once, but they're always breaking down.
22. I agree with Nerdsy. Additionally, this situation could be easily taken advantage of if it were actually allowed. Some employee is hungry and it is almost the end of his shift. He 'drops' a wrapped up sandwich on the floor. The sandwich is unarguably edible, but not servable to customers. "Hey boss, this fell on the floor, I'm going to eat it". If employees are allowed to eat waste for free, what would stop them from 'ruining' the food themselves?
23.
sex partys and alcohol
Oh, the beautiful irony. Lolerskates.
24. Four new computers tricked out with accesories and Adobe CS4. An Acer with a rocking video card and dual monitors (For gaming), a Macbook Pro (For school), a 24 inch iMac (For work), and a Macbook Air (just for kicks and giggles). A Castle with 40+ rooms, including an entire floor for my gallery and another for my studio. I wish that I could have my Cobalt back. That was the most beautiful car I have ever owned, and I ripped it in half. Well, the guardrail split it in half, technically. And now I'm sad.
25. 1.) Live a long life, but start losing your memory and your ability to do things on your own or live a short life but live it independently until your death? I don't plan on living long anyway. 2.) Have your acts of public drunkenness captured and broadcast on Youtube or have your most intimate moments broadcast on Veoh? YouTube. More laugh-worthy than the second. 3.) Find the most perfect guy/girl ever go on a few dates and find out that he/she is a cousin of yours or become the new Naked Cowboy of Bourbon Street? Is it a first cousin or second cousin? 4.) Would you rather meet one OBer of your choice and get the chance to meet them once a year for the rest of your life or meet a different OBer once a year every year for the rest of your life? Well, I'm best friends with someone from OtakuBoards, so I suppose the former. 5.) Would you rather eat 5 rotten cheese slices or lick a dirty toilet? Dirty toilet. 6.) Would you rather die quickly without having a chance to say goodbye to family and friends OR would you rather die a slow, painful death but having the chance to say goodbye to family and friends? Quick death. I'm sure that seeing me in pain would be a traumatic experience. 7.) Would you rather make out with your brother/ sister or be tongue kissed in the mouth by your dog? I kiss my dog on the nose all the time. One time he licked the roof of my mouth. I brushed my teeth, and it wasn't that bad. 8.) We're all mature here. Would you rather eat a cup of diarrhea or be put up to your neck in period blood for half an hour? Yeah, kind of gross, I know. Well, I'm assuming that I'd be provided some sort of breathing device for the latter, or else I'd drown. So, blood with a snorkel. 9.) If you had to choose between being either deaf or blind, which would you choose? Deaf. I'm a designer, you don't need to hear for that. New Questions: Would you rather have the world's longest eyebrows or the world's longest toenails? Would you rather be 4'1" or 7'9"?
