Meh, I don't feel like sifting through Photobucket all night long.
I never did much like the set up, where once you draw a character you edit the post with your own character. I kinda think your own character should kinda be a sepret new post so some of us dont have to hover over the board for hours waiting for a chance at a piccy.
Yes, but that would generally mean double-posting. I say delete the old post and make a new one? That would notify of new posts, without double-posting. I dunno. Maybe. Maybe not. Oh, and on my character, my scanner is on the fritz, but it should be up fairly soon.

I don't know if Blue meant he/she wanted to claim Delta's or not. Blue, if you're already working on this, feel free to go ahead and post. If you're not, I claim it! It'll be up tonight or tomorrow morning! Mwahaha.
Saying that the squiggly lines are bad and pretty much meaning that they shouldn't be there is sort of like saying "get better genes". I just wanted to make that clear before people get off with the idea that I really enjoy squiggly lines. XD
Heh. The whole thing is a tad squiggly, not just the hair. That is what I was reffering to. I was just implying that maybe a better method could have been used to make it #000000, #FFFFFF, and #888888. That filter just isn't my favorite. It gives birth to bright white squiggly lines. And Boo, you're right, there are many, many colors of gray in both pieces. But both are un-intentional. Katana provided the original, and we can tell that it's obviously supposed to be just two colors. The problem was in the re-sizing. I think maybe Katana could have re-sized the image before applying the filter. That would have fixed the problem. *Shrugs* Zeke's has more gray... But most of it is in the image's shirt. Meh. I dunno. All of ours [Save r2vq] have a few different pixel colors due to anti-aliasing, but it really is Delta's call.
My vote goes to R2vq Typography always gets me, it's so much harder to do and takes alot of skill. The vector piece is nice, but it's not as creative. Oh and woot for Enders Game.
Just to spare Delta the annoyance of reminding the voters.
Voters must post a paragraph of at least three sentences about the entry they?re going to vote for, and one sentence of constructive criticism for the other entry.
Also... 'Not' as creative' isn't even close to constructive criticism. Sorry if I sound mean, but I really would like to know why you think that. I do believe I worked just as hard as r2 on my piece. So maybe help me out a litte? Tell me what I could improve upon? That's why we enter these, not to win, but to improve. And the voters are supposed to at least give us a little to work with. I mean, all you give me is 'Not creative'... I think that taking a pen tool and working every little circle and piece on the girl is just as creative as the work it takes to type out, re-position, etc. r2's piece. Sorry I'm in a bad mood. You can call me un-creative if you wish, but at least give some points to back it up. Thank you. Edit- Not creative? You really think that? Why? Saying my piece isn't creative is like saying r2's doesn't have enough text.

Katana-I know how you feel, this round was quite near torture for me, too [; I think you did quite well given the handicap. The squiggly lines don't appeal to me much, but that's personal choice. I think you did great with the font handcap, though! *Thumbs up* Ezekiel- Shikamaru! Yays! This piece also used well the colors allowed by the handicap. I think limited space is used rather well. The font is nice, not thre greatest, but I understand why with only two font choices. The design at the top is a bit distracting, maybe it would have looked better just dots alont the top? Or omitted altogether? I'm not sure. It just looks a bit awkard as-is. That being said, I must vote for Ezekiel, because her piece looks a bit cleaner, and I think she took full advantage of the few things the handicap allowed.
Woo Delta, you do know that we will have our revenge on you for this round. :)
Hah. We most certainly will have to. I just wanted to tell r2 good luck, because your piece is just so darn pretty. I love how you even got creative and put the ribbon-hole at the top [;
I admire sakurasuka's vectoring, but I don't think the font suits the final creation.
*Giggles like a maniac* I didn't mention this above, but for some reason, I didn't have Century Gothic on my computer. Wierd, huh? I don't know what the problem was, but it wasn't anywhere. So I go to downlaod it... And my laptop crashes. I get it working again, and try to downlaod it from a different source... Crash. Finally my laptop just gives up, and now it makes this extremely loud whirring noise. It was bad before, but now I think I made it worse. So I was stuck using my brother's computer... And now have an extreme hatred for the Century Gothic font. I shall never again use it. Ever. EVER. So... It's hard to get the font to fit the picture with only one font chioce [;
You're just ignorant.
:D Someone was bound to say that eventually. I don't like to think my intellegence is 'PuedoIntellegence', I do like to think the little I know is from actual knowlege, and not just a 'better-than-you' front. I think that there are only a few people who 'fake intellegence', or 'talk down to' other members here on OtakuBoards. Most people here actually know what they're talking about most of the time, I think. It has nothing to do with 'Looking smart' or 'Being right', but just for sake of clarification and intellegent conversation.

Yays. It's done. And yays for vectors. I called the piece 'Colorless World' because it frustrated me so much that I couldn't use anything but #000000, #FFFFFF, and #888888 I did re-vector the girl. I did not vector her myself from scratch, I traced. Just so you know. Other than the tracing, I did the entire image myself with only the pen tool and the text tool. Well, mainly. Just a note, this was not the original image I intended to post. Due to computer failure and all, I am stuck on my little brother's computer. That's why I was forced to do a vectored-piece. I do not have any of my brushes, presets, templates, or anything on this computer. This was insanely difficult, by the way. And this is only the second round. The finals are going to be excrutiating. Awesome job, Delta, for putting this together. It really does put our graphic-ing abilities to the ultimate test. Love and hugs.

I'll have it done in no time [: I do have two questions, though. 1- We can only use those two fonts -- But what if we wrote our own into the design? Or just scribbled in words? Like so- Is that against the rules, or do we just have to use Arial Narrow/Century Gothic as a guidline? 2- No colors in between those three... Gotcha. But let's say you have a plain black background, and choose to put a font on top that is the 50% gray. There will be a few pixels around the outside that are a mixed grays and blacks, due to Anti-Aliasing. Do we have to turn that feature off, or does it not matter if it's something that small? And I look foreward to seeing r2vq's piece! This is going to be a difficult round with all the handicaps ;P

As has been said, you can use HTML in your profile. Design away. Do whatever you wish. As for the repeating backgrounds, I'm sure they can be anchored. It would be the responsibility of the user that put up the background to do so though, some like repeating backgrounds and do it on purpose. *Shrugs* I'm not positive, I only recently made a MyOtaku account, but I already put a music player on there alon with a few other things, and it's worked fine so far. MyOtaku most definitely does not look 'Like Crap', or 'Way Unprofessional', or 'Annoying'. It's an awesome site, no doubt. Even with the repeating backgrounds on people's pages.

Alrighy. I've been testing out some stuff. I really would appreciate any comments or suggestions on this piece. Now... Keep in mind it's only a work-in-progress. Not near finished. I just wanted to see what you guys thought.

Every form of art, poetry, writing, etc. can be simply explained as merely an intuitively designed fragment of the imagination of the artist. Everything has meaning to someone, and to each person, that meaning differs drastically. Haiku is no different. To answer your question -- I think that the term 'Haiku' already has enough meanings and rules. Yet people choose to break those rules all the time. Few follow the 5, 7, 5 syllable rule. Haikus rarely are used to explain natural things nowadays. Take the following for example. Faceless, just numbered. Lone pixel in the bitmap- I, anonymous. Now, this follows the 5, 7, 5 rule, but it is not about 'nature', as is a rule for Haiku. So, really, people just bend the rules to fit said poem. That is a good thing, I think. Artistic expression. So, since I've yet to really 'answer' your question, no, I do not think the word 'Haiku' needs a define meaning to make the poetry have validity, or be 'good'. A poem, like any work of art, is all in how you percieve it. Assorted Haiku. By assorted poets. Glass balls and red lights. Dead tree in living room. Killed to honor birth. Behold the ego Set in glowing emptiness On the edge of time. The moment two bubbles are united, they both vanish. A lotus blooms. Enjoy.

Wow, thanks so much for all the replies! r2vq- Bleed Red, Private Idaho, and imagine were actually things I made using the HB! color pallete, since I had so much trouble with the last handicaps, I really figured I was out of practice. And I was. Thing is, I only had an hour to do the piece that is up now. I didn't think I'd get another chance on my computer that weekend. And I didn't. So that's the reason for the sucky-ness. Ezekiel- Ahh! Another PSP user! *Tackles* ... Ahem. Anyway. The glow on A Kiss was made through many duplications of layers and alot of use of the Gaussian Blur feature. Heh. I absolutely hate how all of the stroke/outer glow effects apply, so I made my own. 1. Duplacte layer. 2. Since it's still a Vector, use the Text Tool to set the color of the bottom layer a contrasting color. Black/white, mostly. 3. Duplicate bottom layer until there's 4, Gaussian Blur them all. Set two if them to .5, and two of them by 1.5. 4. Duplicate top layer. 5. Gaussian Blur it, set to .5. 6. Merge all text layers. But yes, we do have a different version. I have 6 and 8. I personally like 6 better, because that's the one I learned on. But 8 has much more features. I really should stop using 6 =/ Retri- Yeah. I really am new to using text as the main focus. I think these are really the only images that didn't derive from/have in it some sort of picture. It really is rather different than making grungy anime banners, I must say. And I will edit tonight, once I'm back on my computer. Hopefully I'll work some more with Vecors, heh.

Okay. With my time using PaintShopPro, I've never really gotten gotten good with Vectors. This is just a simple thing, but it was done almost entirely with the Pen Tool. I'm rather proud of myself. imagine. Also, I've tried to make myself better with both colors and text. I really do hate using complicated, fancy text unless the piece specifically calls for it. Also, I've never used any bright color except pink and purple. And a bit of red. So meh. I do suppose that's why I respect Retribution's work so much. He has always been good with simple text. A Kiss. Bleed Red. Private Idaho. Words Hurt. Awesomeness, for your first tries at PhotoShop. I envy those of you lucky enough to have PS. I am stuck with PaintShopPro and MSPaint. Meh. Anywho. Here's my idea for making the text on your banner more legible. 1. Make it red. That pinkish color doesn't even go with it a little bit. 2. Duplicate layer. 3. Lighten bottom layer to white. 4. Gaussian Blur bottom [white] layer. There are also Outer Glow tools, but I really don't use those. I find it better if the glow is on a seperate layer, it allows me to have more freedom with it. As for the rest of the images, you most definitely are getting better. All I can tell you is practice, you don't have many apparent flaws, you just aren't yet aquainted with the program. That comes with time.
Would you rather: Mess up in front of millions of people OR Cry in front of millions of people?
Cry. I hate looking like an idiot. I hate being wrong. I hate everything about it. I'm rather clumsy anyway, so I do, on a regular basis, make a fool of myself in front of plently of people. It's no fun. I've never cried in front of anyone, but I doubt it would be anywheres near as bad. Now, which would you prefer- Failing at what you do best [Be it sports, art, etc.], but being able to continue failing at it forever. Or. Suceeding at what you do best, but then never being able to do it again.

They play decent music. I really don't have any problem with them. They're good. They can say whatever they want about Bush, I don't give a darn. I don't see why people made a big deal about that whole thing, anyway. Rap, Emo, Metal, Punk, etc. groups poke fun at/criticize/yell at the gonvernment all the time. I think they are rather subdued, comparitively. And I most definitely will continue to listen to them, same as I always have. They don't play my favorite music, mind you, but sometimes I just need some Goodbye Earl to make me appreciate my life. As for buying thier CD, I doubt it. I'm sure I will download a few songs [LEGALLY, of course], but that's it.

Cat in the Hat!! *Screams* ... *Ahem* Ezekiel- Vectoring is something I have yet to master. I envy those of you who have the ability to create such beautiful peices through the art of Vectoring. I, like Tical, thought of the song '99 Red Baloons' at first glance. This piece is extremely happy, and bright. I must also add that you and Sara were the only ones to incorperate both Reds and Blues. Great job. I love it. Sara- I can't help but smile when I look at Thing One and Thing Two. Nevertheless, I must say that the white layer takes away from the piece as a whole. I don't know what it is, I just think it made it look messy. It's a shame too, because everything else was just so pretty =( So my vote must go for Ezekiel.

First off, I'd like to say that there's no way I'm getting past the first or second round with all you amazign artists. Just... Wow. jigglyness- Goodness. This is a gorgeous piece of work. I could rant about how beautiful it is all day long. I love how you managed to use so much red, seeing as most people tries to stay with one basic color *Cough*. I must agree with Onix, though. It is a bit cluttered. I also don't particularly like the bottom left corner. Something about the scanlines doesn't fit the image. r2vq- !!! =O Gorgeous. Right now, you could go get a job in advertising or something of the like. I really tried to find things wrong with this image, but I can't find much of anything. Anyway. Placement = Perfection. Text = Near perfection [The 'O' bugs me just a little bit. It stands out too much. Maybe make it a hint more rounded?] Picture = Awesomeness. Animation =

Thanks so much for the reply, Katana! Oh, and the reason the stock is so gray in the first banner is that I found it that way. The original picture was even duller, all I did was give it a tan-ish hue. I probably should have chosen a better image, seeing as that one is quite bland =/ Thanks to the Handicap Battles now taking place in the Art Studio, I have opened back up my Paint Shop Pro [

What do I think of the opposite sex? Well, they're humans. Like me. There is only one outstanding difference I can think of at the moment. Boys have a penis. Girls don't. ... Well, someone was bound to say it eventually. But I'm sure that's not what you're looking for. So what is it? What do I find attractive about them? What confuses me about them? What's my general view of them? What? As Fasteriskhead previously stated, that's a very general question.
So if I do get into a relationship, I want it to be long lasting, I don't want to have to go through twenty relationships to find "the one."
I'd much rather date, love, lose, hang out, and live life to it's fullest while it lasts. You only get to live once. If you spend all your time being fixated on 'The One', then you just might never meet him/her, and you'll miss a bunch of oppourtunities. If you never take chances with guys, 'The One' might just pass you by.

Okay, it turns out I'm going to be much too busy this weekend to get on the computer much. I do believe that a piece that is not-quite-up-to-par is much better than being to busy to submit a piece at all, so here it is. It's not all I'd like it to be, but in case I don't get another chance on the computer, it's going to have to do. -The image is of the gorgeous singer Ayumi Hamasaki. -The font is Veranda [My favorite, for it's simplicity]. -Shizuka na kono yoru ni means In this Silent Night [or something like that], and is also the name of the song. It's a really pretty song. It's sung by Tanaka Rie. [Thanks to DeGHead for reminding me who sang it
I wish hippies could rule the world.

I wish that I lived in a world with pokemon.
Since both Lord of Spirits and fan ati cal replied to the same post, there are two un-granted wishes. Too bad for you, the wishes now intertwine to create a terrible universe where all hippies have Super-duper-Poke'mon-powers. They then proceed to go mad with power, thus making them no longer hippies, but Poke-fied super beings. The evil poke-fied super beings then take over the universe with thier new-found Poke-powers.
