At the risk of insulting you, this phrasing is starting to sound like an undisciplined eight year old. We also went down that road when we were talking about signature-banner size restrictions a couple of years ago. No restrictions will make things rather ugly rather fast, but at the same time there isn't anything really against a dimensional swell. So, what if you want to use some 195-square? Well then we're all sorry for you, but you won't be able to. Now, I did initially try to look at a ___x150 size that would allow the use of 150-square avatars, but Kei tested it and said it looked like the width that looked good with it would far exceed the width available right now. That's why I dropped back to ___x125, and she said 200X125 would work. Granted, you'd still have to resize your 150-squares, but it would be less of a shrink than before.
Way to twist my words around. I never said that I wanted to use the 195 squares as is, I was saying that if I wanted to shrink those 195 squares down, 100 x 100 would lose a lot of that detailing. Not once did I say that I wanted to keep the 195 x 195 the same size. And it doesn't sound like you're sorry at all. Also, please excuse my undisciplined 8 year old self. She's just so hard to control.

But what about avatars that are already 150 x 150 that I want to use? or what if I want to use some 195 x 195 avatars that I've saved? If I shrink them down to 150 x 150, the 195 ones are going to lose a lot of details compared to if it was only shrunken down to 150. And don't say to crop it to 150 x 100. In case that wasn't obvious, I don't want to deal with ugly rectangular avatars. Fact of the matter is, there are avatars out there larger than 150 x 150 and if I'm sure I'm not the only one that wants to shrink it to fit 100 x 100 and lose a lot of the avatar.
-
Well the poll description wasn't exactly that specific. "What shape should our new avatars be?" doesn't exactly scream "this is in reference to our library".
-
I still don't understand the point of the poll but whatever.
-
I don't see why we have to have a poll about it. Why not just have a 150 x 150 resolution and make everyone happy? That way the people who want square avatars can have them and the people who want rectangular avatars can have those too.
-
To be honest I hate the look of rectangle avatars, thus me asking for them to change. Of course, I'm just one person so it probably won't make any difference at all what I want.
-
I wouldn't mind 150 x 100. It was just getting to be a real hassle trying to find something to fit the awkward 150 x 80 canvas.
-
Alright, as an avid livejournal user, I'm extremely accustomed to nice, square, 100 x 100 avatars. I get all joyful whenever I find one I really love and switch to it on all my accounts, except on OB. The resolution of the current avatars is just so odd and since the layout is now vertical, I don't see the problem in giving us a bit of a nicer avatar resolution.

I've never been one to nickname, so I guess I'll just have to wait until the English names are released. if only!
-
Well I would have posted them sooner but I couldn't exactly.

screaming forever also, Zekrom, the black one, could potentially be Dragon/Electric, a rumor sparked by the host of Pokemon Sunday's blog, where she stated "I want Zekrom because Electric-types are cool!" although the tidbit was since removed. Zoroark is likely to keep his name in the English versions.

My main's Fading Hikari. I'm down for pretty much anything, although I've been doing DwG DoA with my guild lately. Very fun.
Blaziken is a horrible pokemon an EV Trained Infernape will kill anything not Water or Psychic Type. Especially an Adamant Infernape because Blaziken is to slow and nowhere near as strong even with good IV's and EV's. Teach an Infernape that is adamant Fire Blitz, Close Combat/Focus Blast, Stone Edge/U-Turn, Flamethrower/Mach Punch/ Thunder Punch. Torterra is a busted Venasaur never will be as good its a settling pokemon Bulbasaur is the only good grass starter. Trecko is the worst completely useless for battling and tournaments due to his weak attack and sucky move list. I mean what Grass type cant use vine whip or razor leaf and do good damage. Like I said though me and that Pig future pokemon Champions best of the starters I mean he is a freaking Pig ON FIRE he poops and breathes excellence.
Someone certainly seems bitter.

Names are confirmed: # Tsutaaja (ツタージャ) is the Grass Snake Pokemon, its ability is Overgrow, it is 0.6 m (2 ft) tall, and it weighs 8.1 kg (17.9 lbs). "Tsuta" means "ivy" and "ja" is one way of saying the word "snake." # Pokabu (ポカブ) is the Fire Pig Pokemon, its ability is Blaze, it stands 0.6 m (2 ft) tall, and it weighs 9.9 kg (21.9 lbs). The name derives from "pokapoka," which means "warm" in Japanese, and "bu," the sound a pig makes in Japanese culture (here it's "oink"). # Mijumaru (ミジュマル) is the Sea Otter Pokemon, its ability is Torrent, it is 0.5 m (1.6 ft) tall, and it weighs 5.9 kg (13 lbs). "Mijuku" means "immature" and "maru" means "round" or "ball." Here are some more close up screenshots: In the last one, we can see Zoroark's Illusion ability.

Have some detailed info:
* The region's name is "Isshu" (イッシュ) and is located very far away. One of its cities is shown in the top left of the scan. * The main characters are older than ever before; they are not children. * From a separate source, the Pokemon's names might be Tsutaaja (ツタージャ), Pokabu (ポカブ), and Mijumaru (ミジュマル). "Tsuta" means "ivy" and "ja" is one way of saying the word "snake." "Bu" relates to "pig." "Mijuku" means "immature" and "maru" means "round" or "ball." Again, these are not the confirmed names yet. The magazine scan in this story does not mention their names. * The city shown in the scan is Hiun City. * Zoroark's ability is called Illusion (イリュージョン). The ability allows it to take on the appearance of other Pokemon. * Two new attacks are Trickery (イカサマ), which outputs damage depending on the opposing Pokemon's stats, and Claw Sharpen (つめとぎ), which raises your Attack and Accuracy. * If you trade over the shiny Entei, Suicune, or Raikou from the the Ruler of Illusions: Zoroark movie ticket preorders, you can battle and capture a Level 25 Zoroark. During the battle, the Monster Fox Pokemon will take on the appearance of the Pokemon you traded over, and at several points it will revert to its original form (probably when weak). When it does, you can attempt to capture it.
YES YES YES

If these are official, it will not end well. They definitely are not the shadows of the starters posted, so I don't think they're official.

Left looks like fire, top looks like grass, right looks like water.

I used to play GW all the time but not so much any more, since my school connection won't let me run it. But I'll definitely pick back up with it in the summer.
