1.
It seems to me that the MPAA tends to rate animated films more harshly, probably because animation is perceived as being a medium aimed primarily at pre-teens and children. Also, publishing companies don't set ratings; the MPAA does. I'm positive that Geneon would have preferred for Appleseed to be rated PG-13, heh.
The first point is a really good one, I hadnt thought of that actually. If it was perceived as a medium prefered by kids, why would they rate it R then? Who could see it? It just doesnt make sense to me. If you think its for kids, why rate it so kids cant see it, that just means that the theatres airing is are losing money. Oh well, you could be right, thats a valid point. As far as publishing companies, I meant that perhaps the publishing company thought it would be in their best interests to not challange that rating and to accept an R.... I beleive that they can lobby for a lower rating, hell they could have even cut some stuff out for a lower rating (which would have ruined the movie, but got a lower rating and made it more accessible).
2. I dont understand really, what classifies an album as a rock-opera. I know it is classified as one, but I dont know what makes this album a rock opera. Does anyone know the specifics?

Fable

I love the fact that your choices will impact your character and what side you choose. Its very Kotor-ish. I liked having the choice to do whatever I wanted rather than just follow a line with my character, thats not much like a role-playing thing to do.
4.
Too bad we can't double post sometimes. I wonder how many people saw your edits so far? heh Anyway, Gamespot wound up giving it a 9.6. The guy gushed over pretty much everything, the only sore spot seemed to be that he wasn't too big on the limited inventory system and going into menus to use items. Comes out tomorrow... although most retail places are getting it Thursday. Mine should be at my place sometime on Wednesday. Can't wait.
Oh wow, looks like I should be gushing over this game too. I was always skeptical of whether or not it would live up tpo its hype, but I guess it will then. Thats a ridiculoussly high score, thats what Halo2 received I think. Wow, this spurs my interest for this game.
5. I started at like 12 with the first Pokemon that came on american TV, I loved it an began to get more into it. As I started watching more and more, I began picking up manga and diversifying my interests to other shows like DBZ and so on...
6. I think that PG-13 films are gorry only as far as they show violence that is not against humans. LOTR for example was PG-13 because the violence and killing happened against orcs mainly. Other movies that show nudity or violence against humans are often slapped with the R rating. Those are live action, animation is a totally different thing, no one is human. This would ahve to be one very violent movie to get an R, but I was under the impression that it wasnt that bad. Maybe the publishing company just doesnt want to take any risks.
7. Gods and generals. I didnt buy this game, but I played the demo. Absoltutely the worst game ever created. It was made the same year as the movie to try to generate some hype for it. What a failure though. gamespot review here. http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/godsgenerals/review.html
8.
Sure, Ive only beaten the first level in both games (god, they are similar)
Thats pretty much why I dont think Halo 2 is as good as everyone gives it credit for. Its over rated, especially when you just regurgitate the last game with a slightly new storyline.
9. I think this is the best action anime out there. No other anime does what FMA does so regularly. They have great action in each episode, but they still mantain a plot. The plot if strong, and it revolves around characters that you want to and can identify with easily. This keeps you coming back, every week has a new twist and the episodes compliment each other wonderfully. Azure, where are you getting those rips? Id love to see some, are they in good quality? Next time just PM him--Azure obviously knows better than to describe how he got them or post links, but it's still better to keep this kind of thing on the down low. Thanks. ~Dagger~
10. I think it is much better to buy the manga in person. In addition to the instant gratification you have from leaving the store with something tangible, you also get to look through it. You know the copy is authentic and it is new in good quality. I also like to take a sneak preview sometimes and thumb through a few pages, just so I know what Im getting into.
11. Thats good to hear, I liked the first one and I had always hoped for a sequel to this anime. It had some great moments in it but ended to soon. This was one of those animes that you wanted to last forever.
12. "Dear Madam: I have been shown in the files of the War Department a statement of the Adjutant-General of Massachusetts that you are the mother of five sons who have died gloriously on the field of battle. I feel how weak and fruitless must be any words of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering to you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom. Yours very sincerely and respectfully, Abraham Lincoln." From Saving Private Ryan. Touching letter.
13. I would probably wish for some money, or alot of money, then wish for more wishes and then someother things like a bunch of video games or something.
14. At least people are giving money. Thats the good part, alot of money has been pledged to the recovery and repair efforts, as it should be. Now we can only hope that as much as has been pledged will be delivered.
15. Yes Billy, when the time comes you will be a very happy man, beleive me. This is a great series and those of us that have it on DVD are a lucky bunch. I love this show, I really do, happy watching man! :D
16. Like all things it has to be done in moderation. You have to keep your trashtalking under control. If you are going off everytime you die or are killed than that ruins other peoples experiences with the game. I personally dont talk at all, unless its in responce to somebody else who was talking. Trash talking is not my thing, and I am usually quiet during a match, unless im ragging on one of my friends or something.
17. I completel agree with you about the X2. I bought and Xbox recently for a bunch of good games that are out on it (and to replace my often broken PS2). I will not however be picking up an X2. I will continue to upgrade my PC for gaming purposes and unless there are some truely outstanding or revolutionary games that come out for the X2, mine will have to go to someone else.
18. The most overused cliche is probably something like: you are a soldier sent on a secret mission, so go kill a bunch of Nazis to accomplish some quasi-important "secret" mission for the good of the war effort.
19.
i would think cat soup or hello kitty on acid as my friends have called cat soup...it was funny yet really stupid i dont even think it was all anime...the makers of it must of been on crack or really out of it.... :p  :tasty:
I see what you are saying, but this anime is marketed towards kids. That means that maybe it wont be as good for you. Just in the same way that you dont like Barney, but kids do.
20. I was referring to the TV cuts for the episodes. I feel that you lose some of the effect and the atmosphere of the show when somethings are cut out to make the show more "TV friendly".
21. I think that Jimmy Page was probably top 3 best guitarists ever. I also thing that Robert Plante was a songwriting genius. Although they may not always be clear to you when you hear them in a song, if you go back later and look at them, the lyrics always make sense. They are often really deep and have a very complexmeaning. The ability to do that and make it all sound good in a song is a gift.
22. This will probably come to be known as one of their best albums. How coudl it not? Thats a lofty honor too, they have had some good ones. I loved Dookie, but I like this one jsut as much. :wigout:
23. Nintendo has always controlled the handheld market and I see no reason for them to give that up in the near future. The DS looks like a great product with some good games that will continue their dominance. It looks like the handheld market is all they have left though.
24. Why would anyone vote for Microsoft in the poll? Given the other companies present, what ahve they done that is so good to deserve them of this honor?
25. The only thing I dont like about this game is that there are camos that are exclusive for some areas oif the world. The japanese get a bunch of other camos that the US cannot get, from what I hear. Thats a shame, I wish they would promote their products by offering more services to the US market.
