I have to admit that I've been looking forward to this after completing Tekken 4 numerous times with my brother, it's got to the stage now where we just play versus the entire time because it's a little less predictable than the A.I. opponents.
I didnt like 4 at all, actually. Were you the same way? I thought it was the weakest in the series. I played some versus, but even then, it was a little lacking. Maybe tekken3 spoiled me.... :o

Anime Shows/Movies with the Best/Worst Animation
natetron46 replied to EVA Unit 100's topic in Otaku Central
I also think Ghost in Shell still looks good today, even without the addition of all the cgi animation. Even compared to some modern stuff, I think Ghost In Shell can still surpass it. I think the more modern Ghost in Shell (Stand Alone Complex) has great animation also though. It takes the awesome animation of Miyazaki and combines it with state of the art cgi that further improves a great look. -
The thing is that he has an innocent soul. He believes that nobody should be killed, and as almost everyone around him says, it's a rather naive way of looking at things.
Do you think it is Vash being naive? I always thought that he knew what he was doing and made a consious choice to not be violent, I dont know if its to set a good example or what have you, but never the less, I had always thought that Vash made a choice to be that way. I didnt think he was blinded by ideals in any way, just that he saw how the world was and decided to act different. Is this just me?

I actually think in terms of statistics, they are similiar. Dont you have about the same chanc to do of cancer form smoking as to be hit by a car.
Therefore, she is just as much to blame for the fall of the Old Republic as anyone else.
Thats what Im saying. Surely she did play her role, to more of an extent than some, but others could also be blamed. It was stupid of her to appoint Jar Jar, but she didnt have a choice, she was going to begin a movement to appoint the Supreme Chancellor, but she had to be absent. Therefore, she appointed the other member from her planet to do it, instead of cancelling the motion all together.
Add to this blunder the fact that her appointee is duped into starting the vote to strip from the citizens of the galaxy many of their dearest rights (Voting to give the Chancellor emergency powers), and Amidala now bears a great deal of responsibility for the rise of the Empire.
You make a good point here. The entire idea of a supreme chancellor defies the point of having a Republic at all. Stupid idea on her part. (I still disagree that Jar Jar was a bad choice though, she had nowhere else to turn, and all he had to do was deliver her (stupid) appeal. ;) [
While Palpitine may have been adept at hiding, to some degree, his political aspirations, I don?t think that everyone trusted him. The short, green, male member of the Jedi council certainly had his doubts. When Yoda talks to Palpitine in Episode II, there?s much more underlying tension than in Episode I. Suspicions are growing at this point, and everyone in the galaxy knows Palpitine is holding onto power for longer than he should.
True, I also noticed this, but do you think it was directed at Palpatine or a general awareness by the entire council because they suspected something going on. They said themselves they were blinded by the dark side, perhaps they did not even know who was evil. In that case, they would have been vigilant against anyone, as to not get caught off-guard.
I certainly hope that basic human instincts don?t go out the window when someone smarter than you, even if he/she has significant influence over you, tells you to do something deeply immoral. On some level, you [i]know[/i'] what you are doing is wrong. If you know something you are about to do is wrong, and do it anyway, you should be held responsible for committing that act.
Usually they do not, but history has proven so in this world, and obviously in the Star Wars world too. It has happened before, Lucas jsut paraphrases human history. Also, what exactly are you talking about here, Amidala's turning over power?

Oh Super Mario Brothers, say no more. Im there! You should definitely pick that up, this is a great idea. I seriously wish that some of those games could be ported to newer systems, because the fact that I sold my NES is killing me now. :(

Thats really a lot to cover. What shows did you like? What do you want to know? I dont think anyone can tell you "everything" that has happened.

Anime Shows/Movies with the Best/Worst Animation
natetron46 replied to EVA Unit 100's topic in Otaku Central
Akira Toriyama animated Dragonball, but his style greatly influenced that of Eiichiro Oda, who animated One Piece. So don't you think it would be fair to compare like styles in that sense? On another note, I like the animation of both the Dragonball series and One Piece; it's generally the more 'unique' looks like I enjoy.
I think you answered your own question. I dont think you can compare those two animes. They are by different artists and as you said they both have a unique look. That implys that they are not the same, thus unable to be compared. -
I looked at some upcoming games and there will be a Ghost in Shell game. It looks very cool, I like the anime and as I said before, I think it will make a great game, what with all the action and stuff. It still manages to have a story line, though which is what makes a great game.

Thank you very much, I am very anxious for this release, it was a good read. Great pics! Thats good to hear. T3 was the best, its nice to know that they are using that as a jumping point.

I think the ending being tragic just makes it good.
By having spike die in the end,
I think it strays away from what you would expect. People are used to the hollywood "everything is ok now" endings and by having the ending that they did, they did a great job in making the story better and more realistic. Obviously, not everything turns out well in real life, and I think having everything end all peachy is kind of corny and cliche, so its nice to see them get away from that.

Anime Shows/Movies with the Best/Worst Animation

I think you can make some comparisons between movies and shows. I do think it is only possible if they have the same animator. So for something like DB, I think it is possible to compare GT the series to another DB movie, because they are both animated by Akira T. -
Ok, Im back with more Lost info. I really liked the preview that I saw and the show looks very good. It is directed by JJ Abrams (from alias). That fact alone is enough to get me pumped for this. I think he is very good at creating a mix between action and character development and plot. This bodes very well for the show. The pilot will air on September 22nd, I will definitely be tuning in.

I see what you are saying. It is kind of her fault, but you cant really blame anyone. Palpatine was such a snake in the grass, everyone trusted him, he hid his agenda really well. I dont think anyone can be held responsible for what a genius manipulated them to do. If you look at it Palpatines assent is much like Hitler's.

I really liked the first Exorcist. I will see this one. The first one was realyl scary, but i think it was actaully more shock value, nonetheless, scared me. I had some trouble sleeping for a few days, but I got over that. This one looks good, much better than the Exorcist 2 (which I beleive is one of IMDB's 50 worst movies ever). Im anxious to see this.

Id also have to go with Cloud, and Ill cite the same reason as Ex-Soldier. That sword is freaking huge!! Also I think he has the some of the best dialogue and chracter development, I just grew to like him throughout the game. I felt that the production company did a good job creating a coherent story line.

My favorite game is probably Jedi Knight2. Ive always been a star wars fan, and thins is the best star wars game I have ever played. The story is good, the graphics are very good. The game is now 2 years old, but it still provides some awesome visuals. This game also has lightsabers, and the best combat system I have seen in a SW game yet. It is simply awesome.
Lastly, I'd make a game about Samurai X, focusing on Kenji. This would not only allow for new stories to be created, but it would serve as a way to explore more into the world
Kenshin once occupied
. The game would resemble Way of the Samurai in terms of freedom, though the concept would be a lot better implemented, closely resembling the wealth of choices from Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. As we have see, Kenji was a little bit of a rebel in Reflections, so a turn for "evil" chosen by the player wouldn't be an unrealistic approach.
I really like this idea, thats one I never thought of. I really like what KOTOR did and I would like to see that in more games. The only reason I can see for why more games do not include this is price. It must cost alot more money to make a different ending availble, and many production companies are already scared that they will lose money with their latest product. Thats a shame, it would be great to see.

What was the deal with all those seizures? After that happened, even some of my friends (who watch anime) began to joke around. Such as, everytime we put in a video, one of them would drop to the ground and begin to "seizure". It was pretty funny, Ill have to admit, but I think seeing that stuff on mainstream shows like the Simpsons gives anime a bad name, which isnt deserved.
I'm going to say this out of pure randomness. Twisted Metal: Black's theme soundtrack, Paint It Black, was in my opinion the best song to have ever been applied to a game in history. It worked well with the main menu screen too, with the slow-mo of bodies flying through car screens and all, heh.
Yes!!!! I completely agree. I love that song and it was nice to see it in a game. It didnt really fit the game well, but a fun multiplayer game and a wonderful song!
i always thought that the Heavy Metal *Queen* was just referring to VT's sexuality.
I think that is the case. There are a few otehr hints here and there, unfortunately I have not watched Bebop in a good while, so the specifics escape me. I am pretty sure that that is made to be a double entendre.

I would have to say that Inu Yasha efected my life the most. One time I was up late watching adult swin for some US animated show, and I stayed up late enough to watch this wonderful anime. I loved it, and that was the jumping point out into all of my future anime advenures! :) It was what got me hooked, and I still love it, definitely the one with the most impact.

I dont think hell be in it either, but you never know, he may make a cameo or some type of appearance.

The only ones Ive seen there is the Simpsons one. They made a number of jokes about Pokemon. Didnt they even have a whole episode that was a parody? Honestly its no suprise, imo Pokemon is very stupid and puts a bad name on other anime so I didnt really care that they did that. And it was funny.
