I like most of them. Crisis Zone is ok, its better in a live arcade. Time Crisis 2 is the best one out of the tree imo. I really liked that one, the original is good too, I did not like 3, but it was still alot of fun. I also have never heard of Vampire Night or Ninja Assault.

First of all, welcome. I hope you have a good time here. Secondly, I think it is just a basic flute, it is possible that it is tuned differently or something. Thats what I always thought and I even did a Google search and that didnt turn up anything.
I hope this news doesn't come as much a shock to you as it did for me, because I swear, if I was a few decades older I may have had a heart attack from this. No joke! Apparently, two youngsters aged between the ages of 19-20 stole the MGS3 demo that was at E3. Witnesses have reported that the two crooks cracked the Perspex case on one of the pods on the Sony stands in order to gain the disc. They managed to pull off this stunt by leaning heavily on the actual unit, dispatching the disc from it. From there they took off with the one level demo to one of the most highly anticipated games of our time. I'm just anxious to know how this will effect the actual release and content of the game, as we all know how secretive Mr. Kojima is of his projects, and him knowing his demo is out there doing god knows what isn't really going to bake his cake. Man, that's seriously rough.
That is a good story, I had heard that that happened, but I hadnt heard the details, thanks for those. What do you mean leaning, do you understand how they actually did this? It doesnt seem very clear to me.

I think the golden age of anime is now in the 2000's. Although most of the anime was actually created before this point, this is the time frame in which it has become more widely accepted and shown more often. Anime, I think is really making a push to come into the mainstream. And where I live it had always been such an underground thing, that is beginning to change.

Anime What Animes Had the Most Impact in America?
natetron46 replied to EVA Unit 100's topic in Otaku Central
is not that people are scared of a mature cartoon, but that it's unfamiliar.
I think that is very true. This rule applies to all facets of life, especially anime. Things that are unfamiliar are often either feared (to an extent) or shunned, and I have seen both with anime. Some people say, "Im not even going to watch it, its stupid" but they in fact know very little about it. Some people are so arrogant that they will actually make fun of kids who watch anime and frequently call it "gay" or "retarded", something that I have experienced before. Either way, for people that think that way, they need to at least watch it before a decision is made on whether or not it is stupid. -
Completely understood, I am the same way. It feels like a waste of time if I go into a theatre and I see a "preview" that is nothing but things Ive already seen, what is it previewing? Nothing.

Gaming I can't believe I'm starting this thread, but...
natetron46 replied to Queen Asuka's topic in Noosphere
I forgot to mention earlier, KOTOR is a solid pick as well. Its an rpg, if you didnt know. I will stay with Riddick, I recently finished the game, and I loved it, the only thing keeping you away should be the pricetag it was 45 when I got it. And that was used! -
Anime Samurai Champloo [from the creator of Cowboy Bebop]
natetron46 replied to Dagger's topic in Otaku Central
I have recently seen this, I decided to check it out because I love Bebop. This is really great stuff! I am a total fan. I do have a few questions though. Toshihiro Kawamoto is the creator of Bebop, and Im assuming he was the only creator on this anime, but has he done any others? I really like his stuff, and Im looking for more. Also, are there more than 9 episodes of this? -
Anime What Animes Had the Most Impact in America?
natetron46 replied to EVA Unit 100's topic in Otaku Central
I agree with you guys, Pokemon was really the first anime to hit mainstream in the US. It really opened the door for all other animes coming after it. I dont like Pokemon, but I will have to give it props for what it did for the US anime market. Anime had always been an underground type thing, but all of the sudden it was thrown into the limelight of mainstream US market. Dragonball Z came to take its place. I like Dragonball alot, and so do alot of people, which is good. Pokemon has kind of faded out and Dragonball took over its place. That is now THE anime in the US. -
Will it be as good as the trilogy? I doubt it.
I agree, I would see it, and by all means it will be a good movie, if they can do a fraction of what the LOTR trilogy did, but it cant surpass that, its imposible

I dont know, not much is coming out soon that Im interested in. Except for star wars. I WILL be seeing that, it looks really good. This is going to be the best of the modern movies, and i think one of the best out of all of them. I am truely exceited to see this. I also have some interest in Batman Begins. It looks good, although Im not saying much, it looks to be the best Batman movie ever. This has a slew of good actors in it, but then again, that didnt save the other ones....

yeah it really depends on the game, for sports game ill listen to upbeat music to get my ready or pumped. for some (very few) shooters, i listen to rock or something to make it intense. the game i use with music most is transport tycoon or simcity4. there really isnt any music in the game, and there isnt really a mood to set, so i just put my own in.

Anime Which manga/manwha do you want to be animated?
natetron46 replied to Dagger's topic in Otaku Central
I'd actually like to see Samurai Deeper Kyo be turned into an anime. But I think it already is. But I can't watch it because I dont' have cable. I would also like to see Naruto become an anime. But I've also heard that it's already an anime. None of these shows show where I live. But I would also like to see Fruits Basket come out too. ;) Has it already come out as well? If so it doesn't show where I live.
I haven't seen it either, I would like to though, if it exists then I'd like to know where to see it. Thats too bad for you, you don't get any adult swim, ohh right, you don't have cable. Wow, I'm sorry, you need more anime, I would just start buying them then, if you liked the manga and it isn't on your local tv. -
This definitely sounds like a good idea. I know of people who simply read as much of the manga they can in the store and never buy. I don't like it, I've done before but I've never read a lot of it, usually just random excerpts so I can see whether or not I want to buy,I guess im on the same boat as Camlaren.

I think they can still make it by December. Mayb they have pushed back the July31st release date to simply make it closer to the December movie date, it could be a try to generate more press. It would make sense, one comes right on the heels of another. That way there is no time for people to "forget" about IY.

Anime Otakon 2004, Anime Weekend Atlanta 2004 & other conventions
natetron46 replied to Syk3's topic in Otaku Central
That sounds like a really cool event, I have family up in boston, maybe I should try to go up to visit them at the exact time.... :) Not a bad plan. -
has anyone else seen the previews for lost? i saw one the other day, ive always liked this idea, thats exactly why i watched the first survivor, its cool to see how people react when they are stranded. Sorry, but no double-posting at OtakuBaords. Not even to bump your thread. You might also want to watch the post quality. --Manic

i highly doubt those pictures are official, they look like they were made in photoshop. i like the idea, but as i said before, i doubt sony would embrace something like that. too bad though :)
-
it was alittle far fetched in terms of years, but i thought the story was beleivable to an extent. i think a little further into the future, robots could be mass produced and marketed to old people and families. i cannot however see a monopoly in prodcution causing only one type of robots to be created. but whatever its only a movie.
-
wow this is news to me but that is awesome to hear, i had thought they had just shut down completely. :D :D good stuff!!!
-
i like the second picture, and that seems to be the most realistic choice for sony to make, thats what i will be expecting to see, but you never know. the last model was ridiculous, it would cost like 200 to produce each one.

I hadnt heard of a September ending, but it is possible. What time is it on Saturday, I really like this and dont have time to watch it much during the week. I really wish it would come to adult swin! That it my one stop shop for almost all animes, and I think they would get even more people to watch if they added IY.

I think you can count online play and graphics do count, thats what makes it better. There are three main catagories; graphics, online play, and games. And online play is not that expensive, its 90 dollars a year, which is unlimited and you can play as many games as you want.
